When Stefan left Elena in Klaus' care and took the cure, he wasn't planning to leave her there, soon he reaches to Bonnie and just after Katherine revealed to Elena about Jeremy's involvement both Bonnie and Stefan arrive there cloaked. Bonnie breaks Klaus' neck with magic and Katherine soon runs when she sees the opportunity.

When Stefan and Bonnie reveal themselves to her she is relaxed, she hugs Stefan and then Bonnie, Stefan takes them both out in vampire speed. When they reach the safety of Elena's house the sheriff comes there teary eyed.

"What is it Liz?" asks Jenna

But soon sees Jeremy's lump body being carried out of the ambulance and she shakes her head in disbelief, "No, no, this can't be." She goes running and hugs her nephew's body. Elena walks to the door to see what is wrong and she sees her brother lying dead and runs to him, hugs his body from the other side, "No, no Jeremy, wake up. Wake up for me, please" she sobs burying her head in her brother's body.

Jenna are Elena are so damned at this loss that they can't even get themselves to ask that what happened and how did he end up like this, Stefan does the questioning for them when the Sheriff informs, "I shot Damon but he moved so fast and Jeremy was standing behind him, he got shot at the heart and died immediately."

Sheriff was so taken over by the loss of Jeremy Gilbert at her hands that she forgot that Stefan is one of the blood suckers too. Bonnie comes running to the Gilbert clan and says, "I know what to do, take him to the witch house"

She says so confident and Elena believes her, she asks Stefan to carry Jeremy to the place she has asked to, Jenna and Elena follow to the witch house. Using her magic Bonnie resurrects Jeremy. Jeremy hugs Bonnie and then sees his family relieved that he is back to life again.

When Elena steps out of the witch house along with Stefan, resting her head on his shoulders, walking together with him, it is then when they hear the unfamiliar voice of the handsome devil they left in Ric's apartment just a few hours ago.

"Ah I believed you would be here." Grabbing Stefan by his neck he crushes him to the nearest wall. "You dare to betray me, now you will have to pay the price."

He sees how Elena is concerned about her new lover, he all but wants to make a point that Eve is his, so without giving it a second thought he carries Stefan away from there, hearing Elena in a distance screaming 'no' at a distance.

As a punishment, Klaus compels Stefan to feed on the locals, and feed and feed again until there is a mess of bodies separated from their heads down below, he makes him feed until he doesn't has to anymore, until Stefan himself tears into the throats of the passersby as he loses control over his blood lust.

"You know Stefan, Elena is deeply and madly in love with you and I intend to break this image of you before her, I will turn you into the monster you once were so that Elena doesn't look at you that way twice."

That night he leaves town with Stefan, he had already fed his blood to Jeremy earlier tonight so he knew whether or not the witch was successful, his little boy would survive. He had also compelled Jeremy not to reveal to Elena and his family about their past lives because he wanted to be the one to do the honors.

Year 1392

Klaus now represented Eve's husband in all his businesses, every where her husband used to go, he went and would return home by the sunset, they fell into this domestic routine but soon rumors started bubbling up, no one had seen Eve marry Klaus, rumors of Eve spreading her legs for a monster and the monster hurting and hunting anyone who would dare lay a finger upon her.

Were he not taken away by the boy, he would have killed Eve on the full moon but on that night, the boy fell ill and turned out it was a sort of illness which cannot be cured by his vampire blood, had he gone for the sacrifice that day, the boy would have died, so with his inhuman speed he took Jeremiah to witch who lives outside the town and got her to heal him, for a price of course. It took the witch whole night to heal the boy and he was with him every second of it, he looked as she cured the fever or whatever symptoms it were.

When Jeremiah opened his eyes it was dawn, Klaus looked at the rising sun, he was less disappointed on not being able to break the curse and more relieved that Jeremiah survived this incurable disease. When he returns home and places Jer on his bed, Eve touches him and sees the fever and other symptoms gone. She then turns to him and hugs him, hugs him as if he is her life, as if she let go she won't be able to breathe, hugs him as if he were his life. It takes Klaus some time to return the hug but eventually he does.

Not long ago he was thinking of, no, he had plans of killing her, but now that he is in her embrace, now that he could see what emotions are running through her, he thinks, something, he was never offered, something, he could feel it in her breathe, that she has developed feelings for him. Yes, earlier when he came, she wanted him for material reasons, but today, today when she hugs him, he knows it's out of the feelings she has grown for this monster that he is.

He wonders though, if she knew what his intentions were, would she still have embraced him like this, yes, that one night she saw him, yes, that one night he revealed to her what he was and what his intentions truly were but he saw that she wanted to leave so made her forget what his intentions for her were and now that she has embraced him like a lover.

She breaks the hug and cups his cheek from the side, "You saved him. Thank you, thank you so much Klaus." She leans forward to kiss him but he stops instinctively, "Stop" he says before he leaves in a hurry.

Yes, his mother has loved him and yes, he has fallen for that face before, but not again, he knows it's just the allure of the Petrova doppelganger that is calling to him but he also knows that if she kills Jeremiah's mother he wouldn't be able to look him in the eyes again and tell him that he cares for him. He decides to distance himself from the Petrova girl so that he doesn't has to feel guilty about hurting her anymore than he is already feeling guilty about hurting Jeremiah emotionally when he goes through with the ritual.

He goes into town and decides not to return, not for tonight at least, or not until the monster has taken over the man completely and he returns back without any emotions to come forth his way. It hasn't been a millennia yet, Klaus hasn't been betrayed so many times as to become the ruthless Klaus of the twenty first century. He is Klaus Mikaelson who still has a heart, a heart that beats, a heart that could fall for the very woman he spends most of his time with. Today he decides he won't and so he wanders into the town.

When in town, he hears rumors, people cursing Eve, calling her names, even calling her his keep. His blood boils hearing so, he knows if he stays there any longer he might make a mess, maybe slaughter the whole town in a fit of rage but then that won't solve anything, that would only put more dirt on Eve's name. He shakes his head and wipes the thoughts away, he came to town to get his head clear of the Petrova doppelganger, but he feels the pull, the more he tries to go away from her, the more he is pulled towards her.

When he returns this night even though he thought not to, he sees Eve waiting for him at the door step. He ignores her and walks past her, he has decided that he would ignore her and that is the best way to avoid any eye contact or physical contact with her. But she follows him to his room, when he turns around he says, "What are you doing here? And why are you following me?"

"Niklaus, if you didn't want me to follow you here then why didn't you say it earlier when I walked up to the stairs with you."

He is annoyed, he wants to ignore her so that he doesn't think much of her when he finally does the sacrifice he answers feigning anger, "Well, it's because I don't have eyes on the back of my head, so I didn't see you coming."

"But you heard me, you're a vampire, of course you knew" Eve says casually as thought unmoved by his anger, well he wasn't angry, but he was sure he pretended well to be annoyed with her. She tells him this and he is reminded that yes he is, he would have heard her but he was so busy on his thoughts to avoid her that he eventually ended up letting her get into the proximity of his room.

"What is it you want Eve?" he says making a stone cold face in order to show her that he isn't moved by her, isn't affected by her. He ends up saying, "I am not affected by you Eve, not at all."

"When did I say anything about you being affected by me." She says it so casually and then he is reminded that all this day he kept thinking about her, that all day she was the only one in his mind. And now that he has said what he thought, he immediately tries to cover that up.

"Why were you out waiting for me?"

Eve takes out a piece of paper and hands it to him. "What is it?" he asks

"Well, I have received an invitation today for a royal ball, but I didn't want to go alone, I wanted to ask you before you met Jeremiah"

"And why is it so?"

"Well, Klaus, Jeremiah likes to play with you and these days you are the one who puts him to bed, I didn't want to ask you at night, to enter your room at night."

Klaus gives her a playful smile and grabbing her shoulder speeds her to the nearest wall, jovially he asks, "And what difference does it make if you come to my room during day." He smirks as he sees her blushing.

"I…I…"she stammers and he puts his finger on her lips, "Sshhh" he says, "Say if I go to the royal ball with you, who will take care of the boy then."

"My sister is coming, she will arrive tomorrow morning."

When she says this the beautiful smirk on his face fades, he liked it, just him, Jer and Eve together but now that a fourth person would be in here, all his excitement is gone. He moves away from her, turns so that his back is towards her "No way, we take the boy with us or we don't go at all."

Eve strides towards him and keeps her palm on his back, "But what will I say to my sister." Klaus turns around and tells her, "You tell her, that she will hold the ford while I go and enjoy with my family."

Eve agrees to him.
