Chapter 5

The strangely warm breeze swayed in her dark fur as she looked around the field. The leaves in the trees danced around as one fell on her head. Shaking is off, she padded forward, looking from side to side. In the distance, she spotted a white she-cat. Running forward to reveal this mystery cat. Then, she stopped in her tracks when she saw the she-cat more clearly. It was her. "Hello, Quinpaw." the white she-cat,

"It's... you..." Quinpaw started "Wingpaw..."

"I know, your reaction is not surprising, but I came here for a different reason." Wingpaw said. Her voice was high-pitched but sweet at the same time.

"Then, what's the problem, Wingpaw?" Quinpaw asked.

"I heard Metalclaw's offer to you." she said. Suddenly, the wind stopped flying around. Her white fur stopped swaying and the sky turned dark as grey clouds covered it. Quinpaw shivered and stared as the clouds turned a blood red. Looking back at her, her yellow eyes glowed in fury.

"Wingpaw?" Quinpaw asked, taking a step back.

"How could he do this? I trusted him! I died for him!" she cried. Quinpaw flinched. What did she mean by that?

"You died, for him?" Quinpaw asked curiously. Wingpaw sighed and looked round her shoulder.

"Yes. But that is not what I am here to talk to you about."

"You mean, you have a prophecy for me?" Quinpaw asked. Blood rushed to her ears. Suddenly, she remembered something she was taught once. If the sky is red, the day will bring an unnecessary death. She guessed that was the prophecy.

"Is it the red sky?" she asked. Wingpaw stared down at the black-furred apprentice. Shaking her head, she thumped her white tail against the ground. In a flash, the colour of the ground turned a star white and glowed under them. Quinpaw stared down in shock at the glowing earth beneath her. "Wow!" she gasped. It was beautiful, but what did it mean?

"A red sky with a glowing white path. What does it mean?" Quinpaw desperately asked.

"Sorry but StarClan does not have answers to all questions." Wingpaw said.

"But isn't it StarClan that gives us our prophesies?" Quinpaw said stubornly. Wingpaw grunted and turned.

"Maybe so, but you shouldn't expect us to solve all your problems. We just foretell you about them." She muttered. Her pelt began to dissapear as she began to leave until only little stars and soon, they disappeared too. Quinpaw was left all alone. Like always. It was never different. Even if all the Clans were on her side, she would still feel alone. Looking into the forever glowing ground, she saw a figure. A ginger tom. It looked like... no it couldn't be! It couldn't be him! The only ginger cat she knew was Lionfoot, her father. But why was he in her dream? Then it became clearer. The white light made the pelt brighter. The glow started to fade revealing a brown tom. Thank StarClan it's not Lionfoot. She didn't recognise him though what she did recognise was what was going to happen. The red sky, the shining ground, the brown tom. There was going to be an unnecessary death for a brown tom. But what did the white ground mean? Suddenly, she heard a loud rumble as the land began to shake. Looking around she saw a massive wave. Automatically, she began to run away from it, but she should've known better than trying to outrun a tidal wave. It swallowed her whole and darkness.

A tiny white light glowed a stunning red in front of her paws. She was floating in a dark, dark void. Her fur blended in with the darkness and the red light made her fur the colour of blood red. Take me. The heard the light say. Was she going mad? Don't be scared, trust me.

"Why should I?" Quinpaw lashed out. Was she really speaking to a light?

Because I will explain everything. Every question, we will answer them together. You should trust me. We will rid the forest of its traitors. The voice echoed. Quinpaw looked unconvinced. That didn't answer her question. Like it was reading her mind, it replied, I have already been with someone you trust. Ever since birth. You trust her more than anything. She knew that I could answer. She knew I had power. I still have all those features.

"Eighter way!" Quinpaw said, "You say, you were with someone I trust. But who?"

Must you really ask? Is this your test for me? Why, it is the only cat you don't feel alone with. What a lie. There was no such cat. There would never be such a cat anyway. The light was clearly lying... Right?

Must I really answer everything? Before I can to you, I inhabited a cat you would die for. If you hurt her, it would feel like burning alive and that feel like mercy. She told me to leave her, even though it stung like a wasp, and go to you. She knew you wanted answers. Even though, power, you already have a lot of. I felt that.

Then it hit her. The cat. The cat this light was talking about. It was...

Snowpaw...
