Mobile Memories

Izuku Midoriya walked through the front door of his home. He said hello to his mom and went to his room. He changed out of his uniform and into some more comfortable clothes, a pair of shorts and a shirt. He headed into the living room and sat on the couch next to his mom watching TV with her as they casually talked about their day.

Momo Yaoyorozu thanked her driver as she was dropped off at the front of her residence. She closed the door after she walked out and headed for the door. The housemaid welcomed her in, opening the door. Momo smiled at her as she walked in, the maid followed close behind, taking her school bag for her. Momo did not say hello to any of her parents as they were rarely home, she simply settled into her room as she usually did. As soon as she entered she went to open the music box before falling back on her bed with a beloved sigh. She placed the back of her hand over her face to shadow her eyes, wanting to hide the creeping blush as she dared to speak genuinely.

"I wonder if... would it be okay if I call him by his name... Ne, Izuku?"

He was in his room as the sun was setting, studying and doing his homework. His stress had been building up as he ruffled his hair with both hands, struggling a bit with the material. But that wasn't the cause of stress, the cause of it was that he wanted to call Yaoyorozu for help on the subject. They've had study sessions over the phone before and frequently communicated about homework assignments but now all of a sudden he was agonizing over clicking her name on the contact screen.

"Come on Izuku, you already got over your excitement of talking over the phone with a girl." But the problem was that it wasn't any random girl, it was Momo. He was finally able to convince himself to call her when he was able to admit that he wanted to call her, simply to talk to her and not because he needed help with his homework. "I mean we're friends so it shouldn't be weird for me to call her for no reason, right?" The seconds ached away after he clicked call and placed the phone to his ear.

Ring, ring. "A-Ara?" She moaned, waking up from a nap she didn't realize she had fallen into. She glanced around for the object that awoke her. Her phone was on her nightstand next to the music box. She climbed out of her bed and grabbed it. Her heart skipped, seeing his name on the screen. She tried to wake herself up a little, clearing her throat and trying to get her thoughts straight.

"H-Hello? Midoriya."

"Yaoyorozu, h-hey." Izuku didn't know why he was surprised that she answered, she always does. He wanted to start a conversation with her as friends and see where that could go, but instead, "Um, I was having a little trouble with the homework, and was wondering, if you don't mind, going over it with me? S-Sorry for both-,"

"Of course I don't mind!" She quickly coughed trying to hide her eagerness. "Let me just find my study glasses."

"Ah, thanks." He internally groaned at himself for using homework as an excuse to talk to her.

"Ah, got them, now we can go over the work, step by step, together, okay?" She was at her desk with her study material. Even if it was just helping with the homework she was glad just to be talking to him.

A few hours had passed and they were still on the phone. It didn't take them long to drift away from homework and soon they were talking about the times they had spent together at the dorms. They had both noticed that they weren't focusing on the homework but neither of them brought it up. Momo had an unnoticed smile as they reminisced about living with all their classmates, she missed it compared to her quiet home. Izuku was staring at the window as they talked, and his eyes grew a bit when he realized the sun had long since set. It was actually around the time he would have gone asleep, but he noticed how invested Momo was in the conversation that he ignored his heavy growing eyelids. 'Huh? Is that a music box I hear?' He ignored the thought thinking he was just getting sleepy.

"Remember that time we all played hide and seek in the middle of the night?"

"Oh, yeah, me and you were huddled on the roof, hiding from Iida. Hey, thanks for making that sleeping bag, and sorry for going to sleep in it." Over the years at UA he and Momo had actually grown to be close friends, but it wasn't up until now that he was noticing her and he didn't know why? He didn't know what was special about the dance he shared with her and why it enticed him to her.

"Well we were freezing, and I made it so it was big enough for the both of us... B-Besides, I fell asleep as well..." She trailed off at the end with her voice leading to thoughts. She was actually fond of that memory. She and Izuku were trying to keep quiet when they heard Iida searching for them, but she had made a sleeping bag that perfectly blended with the night. Although with the benefit of hiding into the night came the drowsiness of the warmth. She never told anyone not even Izuku but outside of her family, he was the first person she had cuddled and slept with.

"Yeah... Didn't the class call us the Aizawa twins or something like that... when they found us?" In the morning. In truth, Izuku had done his best not to think of that because of the sole reason that he knows for a fact he had blood rushing to the wrong area that morning and he didn't know if Momo was asleep or awake. It was the day he cursed natural body functions. Although the redeeming memory was the feeling of her snuggling with him. 'I guess I didn't think about it as much because of how embarrassed I was.' But now was different.

"Yes, Ashido even took pictures..." She mumbled, both of them barely mumbling replies.

Momo and Izuku were on their individual beds. It was getting late and obvious to both of them that they should hang up and go to sleep, but instead, they stayed on the line, continuing to strain out incoherent sentences.

Until,

Izuku and Momo fell asleep cuddled up next to their phones, still on the line with a faint music box melody echoing in their dreams.
