Raindrops

It was raining. The gentle droplets fell throughout the city bring with it a tranquil atmosphere.

Izuku sighed as he entered through the front door of his home. "Mom, I'm home." And his voice had a singing tone to it. His mom welcomed him home asking how his day was and all his replies were similar to his greeting, full of joy. He didn't outright say he was with a girl, but he didn't deny it either, saying that he was studying with a friend and they lost track of time. He went to his room with a skip in his step and she shook her head with a smirk, able to assume where his attitude was coming from.

Momo was walking through the halls of her home with a humming sigh, the music box playing in the background as she thought about what she had just shared with Midoriya. She entered the living room, glancing at the areas they had embraced at, namely, the couch and floor. She made her way to the piano where the two figurines of the music box were twirling to the playing melody. Her fingers traced over the piano keys causing a few to play accidentally. She smiled at the music box before picking it up and closing it. She held it dearly to her chest as she let out her beloved sigh.

Both Momo and Izuku were lying on their bed thinking about the other as they got ready to sleep. The rain continued to play as they drowned in drowsiness. Subsequently, they had another dream revolving around their relationship.

In Momo's dream, she was the daughter of a noble, who was attending the colosseum in ancient Rome to see the gladiators duel. She was breath taken when the victor took off his helmet revealing his forest hair and charming freckled smile. After the games, she was so determined to meet him that she snuck into the barracks when denied. She was concealed only by her cloak. She eventually found his cell, introducing herself bare to him, dropping her cloak, spending the night with him.

In Izuku's dream, he was the bodyguard of a famous celebrity. Whenever she made an appearance, she would dazzle all those around her, causing massive crowds around her that awarded her no space. During those times, she would clingy to his arm and trust in him to get her to some safety and privacy. And after each time, without fail she would always thank him, saying it with a tilted of her head, as that graceful raven lock of hair fluttered along.

Momo didn't know why she woke up so flustered and Izuku didn't know why he had the sudden urge to protect Momo, as neither of them could recall their dream before it slipped away from them.

They both got ready for school with a certain amount of excitement because of their interactions yesterday before it slowly turned to anxiety the closer they got to school because of the exact interactions they shared yesterday.

"Bye Mom," Izuku left his home. He opened up his umbrella as he walked out of the apartment complex and into the city. It was a mixture of the rain and his nervous state but the commute was a blur to him.

Momo's driver had pulled up and as soon as she left her home, the butterflies started to swirl around in her tummy. The constant swipe of the windshield wipers was like a ticking clock, counting down till she reached school. The city was a blend of gloomy gray as the buildings and clouds seemingly meshed together. The only distinction was that of the many lights littered along the streets.

They stopped at a red light. He absently twiddled his umbrella. She was leaning her head on the window absently staring. His attention was caught by the luxury car, waiting on the road next to him. Her eyes were drawn to the distinct appearance of his iconic red shoes.

'Wait, isn't that..?' They both thought as they stared on. He turned to the car, to see it better, causing the umbrella to shift angles, revealing his face. Both of their eyes widened as they made contact with each other. Neither of them knew what to do for a moment, having expected to see the other at school. He let out a condensed breath, his lips parting from surprise, he had heard the click of the car door. She stumbled out as her driver called out. Izuku quickly walked up to the car. He helped her, extending his arm so she could stabilize herself. He also sheltered her from the rain with his umbrella. Once she had straightened herself upright, she told her driver she would walk the rest of the way with her classmate.

Once the driver had left Momo and Izuku were left alone as the busy pedestrians made their way around them.

"Um, Momo-, what are you, I mean..." Not really sure what to say. "H-Hey?" Deciding to go with that.

"Hello, Izuku." Her voice was as radiant as ever. Although she did practice saying it a lot the night before.

They were both unsure how to act with each other as they walked to school together. They hadn't stated that they were dating but they couldn't go back to being just friends. They didn't know how to bring up what happened without being embarrassed so they didn't even if they wanted to. Izuku was holding the umbrella in between them and was the only reasonable excuse for them to be close to each other and they didn't know if they would have still been like that if it wasn't for the rain.

Even though it was awkward and silent between them, there was a resonating feeling that they were both going through it together for the same reason. Simply to be in the other's presence. As they reached the school, they stopped walking because of her. She had turned to him.

She tilted her head, letting her loose strand of hair flow with the weather. Her cheeks were a cold pale with a sniffled pink nose and her elegant smile broke apart to let out a fragile giggle as her eyes carried the misty glisten of the rain. It left him captivated because of the scenery surrounding them.

"Thank you for escorting me, Izuku." Because even though it was quiet and uncomfortable it was with him.

"It... It was nothing, Momo..." He struggled to speak from his enamored state.

"I hope the weather continues on like this... I like it."

"Yeah, me too..."

And it continued to rain for the rest of the week.
