"Welp, it should be fine if she is." Izuku had that heroic grin, completely unfazed.
"What? But Midoriya?" Todoroki had wide eyes to Izuku's indifference. "But remember what happened with Utsu-," But Todoroki stopped himself when he saw the vivid flash of hurt in his friend's eyes, he cleared his throat and fixed his sentence. "Look Midoriya, I'm just worried about you, you get too ahead of yourself sometimes. I will always appreciate how far you went for me during the sport's festival, but you permanently injured your arm because of that, I just don't want something like that happening. You sacrifice too much of yourself for others."
"A-Ah, yeah Todoroki, I know I can go overboard, and maybe me and Momo are rushing it but I don't know, there's something about her." Izuku scratched his slightly tinted cheek thinking of his girlfriend. "Besides I think, if anything, it's the first time I've seen her be so earnest..."
"Midoriya, when you two were dancing at the ball, I don't know, you looked transfixed, I was a bit worried." Todoroki was warning Izuku because ever since the ball they went to it seemed like Yaoyorozu had Midoriya wrapped around her fingers. Maybe it was because Todoroki was more on the dense side but he was always uncomfortable with Yaoyorozu's personality to get overly emotional one moment and then jump to becoming cold and calculating.
"Todoroki, I appreciate the concern, but don't worry okay, besides if Momo was doing something like that it's probably because of how much of a perfectionist she is."
"I don't get it Midoriya, how can you be so sure?"
Izuku's cheerful expression faltered a bit, turning into more of a sad smile. "Y-You know after the ball, she made a music box, she even showed it to me. And when you open, you can see the two of us dancing like at the ball, except despite the amount of detail... her figurine was made out of crystal and it looked so delicate." Izuku rubbed his thumb under his eyelid, "I don't know why but it reminded me of when I felt like I was see-through, m-maybe Momo feels like that too... so in a way, I get it." He let out a chuckle as he ruffled the back of his hair trying to play it off like always.
Todoroki was taken aback by his friend before he absorbed his words, thinking with his hand on his chin before uttering, "You two are kindred spirits." But it was how he stated it as a matter of fact that was shocking, as if suddenly rooting for them after Izuku expressed himself.
Izuku almost fell to the side, hiding a sweatdrop, "Th-That must be it Todoroki. C-Come on, we should probably get back to everyone."
"Alright, Midoriya," And they both started to walk together but Izuku had a question for Todoroki.
"H-Hey, T-Todoroki, you still haven't told anyone about Camie right?"
Uraraka and Yaoyorozu were walking down an empty hall, until it seemed like they were far enough from everyone. "What seems to be the matter Uraraka?" Yaoyorozu asked with a simple smile that had closed eyes.
Uraraka was glancing to the side, keeping her upbeat attitude up as best as possible. "It's great that you and Deku are together, d-don't worry I didn't come here to tell you that I have feelings for him or anything like that, I pushed those things down a long time ago," As Uraraka began to finish her sentence, she faced Yaoyorozu with her determined look, "But I still care about Deku and his dream of becoming a great hero."
Momo kept that simple closed-eye smile as she tilted her head a bit, "Ara, ara? What is it exactly, that you are attempting to explain, Uraraka?"
"Deku has always been the one to sacrifice himself for others, and it's something he'll continue to do, maybe that's why I pushed my feelings away... I kept telling myself I did it because I didn't want to hinder him but honestly I was scared..."
Momo's simple smile began to disappear into a concerned glance still not quite understanding what Uraraka was telling her.
Uraraka reassured herself as she finished her thoughts. "Being with Deku means the rest of the world will always be the priority. He's not a hero like the rest of us, he has a bigger responsibility to shoulder... Compared to that, are you really okay having to be second choice for someone with the weight of the world on his shoulders?"
That did catch Momo off guard, she was so swept by the romance of the last few days she completely forgot about Izuku's burden and responsibility. She realized she didn't notice because of the smile always present on his freckled face.
Momo took a deep sigh as she crossed her arms, considering Uraraka's words. "You have a point Uraraka, I was caught up with the emotion of the situation transpiring that I wasn't thinking rationally," And so Momo did take a few moments to think before she let out a small giggle, "Perhaps it is impossible to be rational when it comes to this, but the way I see it, if Izuku is carrying the weight of the world, then I guess I'll just have to be there to massage his shoulders when he gets tired, right?"
Uraraka had wide eyes before she burst into a fit of giggles, before wiping her eyes, "You know, Deku is really lucky to have someone like you."
"Thank you Uraraka, to be honest, I was a bit apprehensive about you wanting to talk to me, but I'm glad you did."
Uraraka nodded with her upbeat attitude coming back. "Let's head back, I bet Deku is waiting for you."
"Yes, I'll be right behind you," Momo replied. Uraraka turned around and began to walk at a more cheerful pace.
Leaving Momo alone in thought for a moment as she let Uraraka's words really sink into her. If Deku was a pillar for the rest of the world, then where did that leave her? Why wasn't she ever the focus? She placed her hand over her bosom as she grew a faraway stare, her eyes glistening.
"Does that mean, Izuku will see through me, for everyone else?" Am I really just a looking glass?
