All he can see is red, his eyes blurring with it as it mixes fast with the sweat and the adrenalin, and it hinders his senses somewhat.
He pauses, slows, to wipe it from his brow, and his hand becomes slippery with the offensive red, which had once been apart of him. Now it was working against him as he takes up his blade again, only to have it nearly slip from his hold.
There is a cruel laugh, one he wants to silence more than anything else in the world, and finally looks up to see the blonde martyr beckon him closer mockingly, his similar blade held casually to the side as if he doesn't even find him a threat anymore. With a growl deep in his throat he races forward, and slices the martyr up the middle of his face, from the side of his nose to his forehead, just like he himself had been marked only minutes ago.
He can see the red fury in his opponent, and it's just like how he is red himself, they match even more now and he hates that fact, he doesn't want to be anything remotely like thisworthless man! And yet he is in so many ways and he can't run from it anymore.
In the same movement they join again, blades crashing and then that's all he remembers. He wakes, ages later, and all he feels is the ache of his muscles -there's red in his head from the blood spilt and the anger his opponent had managed to make him show. He hates him for that, even though hate is only more red in his life, a colour he has grown to hate. Why can't he be more…grey? Neutral and stoic… no emotion…no weakness!
Squall sighs. He hates red…
This is a challenge for FictionNET ( http / sycotic . org / fnet ) If you're looking for a nifty (mostly based on Harry Potter) writing forum, join Fnet and say that Keladryie sent you. It's seriously worth it.
The challenge here was for Septych, which is where I must create a piece for a set of seven somethings. This round was Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet. Here, as you can see, this piece is all about red. :) The next piece, Orange, shall be about the Weasley Twins in Harry Potter fandom. All shall be 300 words long exactly.
