Across the courtyard, she saw the dark skinned boy walking with a pale skinned boy. They walked in silence, scanning the yard, looking for possibly, their next victims. 'I wonder if notices me.' She thought, but blushed.
It had started a few months ago. The infatuation was one thing that she had to deny. What would they think? The noble Gryffindor in love with the ambitious Slytherin? Perish the thought.
Her eyes locked on to him, as if he were a target. He walked past a group of girls, swooning at the sight of him. The pale skinned boy whispered something in his ear and laughed, while the dark skinned boy just cringed and ran a hand through his dark hair.
Sitting on the bench, she opened her notebook and started to write quickly with her quill. Once in a while, she glanced up, looked at him, and scribbled in her notebook again.
At one point, she swore that the two boys had looked straight at her, while that pale one had smirked, the dark one just smiled. She blushed furiously and quickly lowered her head.
"Granger, writing a book?" A voice from behind her drawled. She jumped and there stood Draco Malfoy and Blaise Zabini. Panicking, she hid her notebook as fast as she can, unfortunately, she wasn't quick enough.
"What do you want, Malfoy? No… Don't take that!"
"Let me see," he flipped to a random page in the book. "Ah." He sniggered and elbowed Blaise. Clearing his throat, he read a passage. "'Today I saw him again. Can't believe I froze up in front of him again. Ferret made fun of me as he saw that as an opportunity. Peroxide made his insult make no sense at all.' Oy! That was a good insult!"
Blaise laughed and swiped the notebook from Draco, giving it back to Hermione.
"Well, what you said was pretty embarrassing. 'a meeting with Bucktooths Anonymous'? Draco, she did have those shrunk back in fourth year. And I think she's outgrown that look." Blaise said, eyeing Hermione. She muttered a thank you and fled from the scene.
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Blaise smile and wave, and maybe even wink at her.
'If only he knew…'
