This section is new for me. Usually I write Inuyasha fanfic, but I absolutely love this series. And Martin and Rose are my all-time favorite pairing...sniff Rose...sob

Anyway, it's my first Redwall fic so...Yeah...

If you don't review, my giant ferocious man-eating cat named Mr.Fuzzlywuzzlykins will eat you. So, in your best interest, after reading, it would do you well to review, friend.

Disclaimer: Much to my dismay, I do not own Redwall.

Martin's POV

I can still hear your voice. It's beautiful, ringing through my head like melodious bells on a summer's eve. Even after all these seasons, I can still hear it.

But I do not remember your name.

You were beautiful, the most beautiful mousemaid I had ever seen, will ever see again. I have a vivid picture of you, smiling, laughing, still fresh in my mind's eye.

But even your beauty cannot help me remember your name.

Your laugh was like windsweeping gently through the weeping willows. I remember, that used to be one of my top goals, to make you laugh, to smile, to make you happy. When you were happy, I was happy.

But, though the happiness we shared is my greatest joy, I still cannot remember your name.

I loved you. Whether you returned those feelings, I never found out. But I like to think that you did. I'm sure that you did.

I still love you.

You are my only good memory of my life before Mossflower. The rest is lost, perhaps forever, after the battle with the cat.

But I still cannot remember your name.

I've tried to remember. I've racked my brain for hours, alone in my dormitory, searching for that one lost piece of information. But, no matter how hard I try, I cannot remember your name.

The gates of the Dark Forest loom before me now. I take a step forward.

There you are, standing and waving. Your smile is exactly like my memory, if not sweeter. I hear you laugh, like those beautiful, windy willows.

"Martin! Come on, you old warrior!" you call.

Your voice.

Your sweet, ringing, real voice. But a new element is added.

Actually, it had been there all along, I realize now. It was there when I first met you (which I remember) and it was there in every memory of you.

Love.

You grasp my paw as I pass through the gates. "You're late, Martin. I've been waiting a long time for you," you say, smiling.

"Sorry I'm late," I reply. "You went earlier than I was expecting, you know."

You just laugh.

I smile at you. I remember now.

"You're as beautiful as ever," I say, holding you close. "I've missed you..."

A name, beautiful as the flower itself.

"...Rose."

My hand kinda hurts now. It was sort of a drabble, I guess...Oh well.
