Hermione
"'Mione!" Someone whispered as they shook my body softly. I rolled over, clutching my blanket closer to myself to fend off the cold as I murmured for whoever it was to bugger off. My sleepy request was completely ignored as the shaking began again in earnest, "Come on Hermione, you aren't getting off that easily."
I rolled further away from the voice disturbing my sleep, "Just leave…" I said as I continued to drift in and out of a sleep-like state.
A soft giggle sounded in the darkness as I felt a slight dip in my bed, "You're going to wake up whether you like it or not."
I started to move further away from the voice and now encroaching other body, "I don't wanna~ Please jus-" I was unable to finish my sentence, however, as the bed suddenly disappeared from beneath me and the next thing, I knew my head was bouncing off of the hard floor.
The soft giggle transformed into fully stifled laughter as whoever had woken me tried desperately to keep their laughter quiet. I climbed to my knees and glared at whoever was on my bed, my face half-hidden behind the covers that had fallen with me to hide try and hide my embarrassment as I rubbed at the sore point on my head.
"I should have known," I said as I looked upon a familiar redhead who was busy covering her mouth with both hands as she attempted to keep herself from laughing. Her constant laughter prolonged the burning in my cheeks as I gathered up my blankets and placed them back on my bed.
Ginny had still not calmed down from her laughing fit so I rolled my eyes at the younger girl before grabbing my pillow and delivering a swift smack of justice straight to her face. The sudden attack seemed to help the younger girl relax as she began to take deep breaths to calm herself down.
"I deserved that," Ginny said with a cheeky grin before she giggled a little more.
"SHH!" One of my roommates hushed us.
"Sorry," I whispered to the room, "Let's go to the Common Room, Ginny."
The redhead rushed past me, grabbing my hand as she did so making me practically run behind her, we settled down in a couple of chairs close to a small fireplace that was just smouldering as we settled down.
"So… What's all this about?" I asked innocently, although I was sure I already knew what she had woken me up for.
Ginny smirked at me, "Like you don't already know why we're down here in the middle of the night."
I raised an eyebrow expectantly, oddly enjoying the feeling of making Ginny wait, "Come on Hermione~" Ginny whined, "Don't do this to me."
"Do what? I don't know what you want from me," I spoke with a straight face, pleading ignorance.
Ginny huffed in frustration, "You have to tell me what happened with Fleur," She demanded, "We aren't leaving these seats until you've told me everything."
I grinned devilishly as I looked into the red hot embers of the fire, "Well at first, I didn't think too much of her, except for how beautiful she was, of course, but as we slowly star-" I stopped as I glanced back at Ginny to see the girl practically fuming in her chair.
I burst out into my own fit of laughter as Ginny shook her head at me, "I guess this is revenge for making you fall out of bed?" Ginny deadpanned.
I grinned at Ginny as I calmed down, "You know you deserve it."
Ginny rolled her eyes, "Just tell me. What. Happened."
"Ok, ok," I relented, "It took a while but I found Fleur at the Carriage the Beaxbatons students were staying in. I started to speak to her but before I could ask her anything," I stopped speaking as a burning sensation inched its way up my cheeks, I bit down on my lower lip embarrassedly as I turned back to the embers. "Before I could ask anything, she… She pulled me into a kiss."
Ginny made a strange squealing noise and, before I knew it, her arms were wrapped around my waist as she pulled me into a tight hug, she jumped up and down excitedly with me in her arms. "I knew it. I knew it. I knew it." Ginny said over and over again.
I chuckled at the excitement in the young witch's voice, almost as if it were her that had received a kiss from her crush and not me. I enjoyed the moment with Ginny for a little longer before finally pulling away from the girl, which took a great deal of effort.
"I'd hate to see how you react when you tell me about your romantic life, like with Harry," I said with a slight wink.
Ginny just groaned at that, "He's too into Cho, I think I'm just going to leave him for now, you know?" Ginny asked with a slight shrug. "Besides, Neville asked me to the Yule Ball."
My eyes widened at the new information, "Neville?" I asked and Ginny nodded, "Wow, I'm surprised he had the confidence."
Ginny giggled at that statement, "He did not have confidence, but I think it'll be fun, especially with you and Fleur being together.
I yawned as I started to relax from the earlier excitement, "I need to get back to bed," I smiled at Ginny who smiled back at me, "The Ball is going to be great."
Ginny nodded in agreement, "Amazing even… I can't wait to see you in your dress," Ginny said with a playful wink before running off to her room.
I smiled as I watched the younger girl leave, "And I can't wait to see Fleur in hers," I said with a sigh before heading back to bed myself.
Fleur
I sat at my desk, my quill lay forgotten in its inkwell as I had just finished writing in my journal about the events of the day. I very quickly realized, as I looked down at the words on the pages, that I had gotten embarrassedly carried away as I flicked back through the pages. I chuckled as I found the first page of the day, "Six full pages," I smiled at myself, shaking my head slowly.
I glanced towards my bed, my smile never leaving my face as I spied Gabrielle who was sound asleep, above the covers, and I wondered just how she was able to sleep in the cold. She had begged me for ages to tell her what was happening with Hermione but I was just too giddy and not quite in my right mind to coherently have a conversation so I instead got to work on my journal entry.
But now that I had gathered my thoughts, I wanted nothing more than to share the good news with my darling little sister. I stood up, stretching out my stiff limbs before I shook my little sister softly, "Gabi, wake up sweetheart," I cooed rousing the younger girl.
"What is it?" Gabrielle asked as she rubbed her eyes sleepily.
I watched the girl fondly as I lifted the blankets a little, "Maybe we should use these, it's a little cold out tonight."
As if my words had brought the cold with them, Gabrielle wrapped her arms around herself and began shivering a little. I chuckled as I climbed into my bed, holding up the blankets as Gabrielle slipped out of her Beauxbatons uniform and into the spare set of pyjama's she kept in my room.
Gabrielle climbed into my bed and instantly cuddled up to me, pressing her face against my chest, I enjoyed the closeness with my sister and started to run my hands through her silvery hair.
"Hey, Gabi."
"Yeah?" Gabrielle asked sleepily from my arms.
"About me and Hermione, we're going to the Yule Ball together."
"That's awesome," Gabrielle said and I could hear the smile in her voice.
"It sure is… I'm sorry I couldn't tell you earlier, I was just so muddled in my own thoughts."
"That's okay, I'm just glad that you told me," Gabrielle yawned once more before falling silent, giving herself over to the void of sleep.
I tightened my grip on the young girl as I allowed myself to drift off to sleep as well.
. . .
I woke up to my sister shaking my shoulders almost viciously, "Wake up already Fleur!" Gabrielle yelled in my ear.
"What is it? What happened?" I asked a little worriedly as I looked around the room, somewhat expecting some kind of emergency to be happening.
Gabrielle smiled broadly, "What do you think happened!?" She asked excitedly, "You and Hermione are together!"
I sighed happily, Of course that's what this is about, "I told you that last night Gabi."
"Yeah, when I was basically asleep. But you too are together! Did you kiss? Hug? Who asked? What happened? How did it happen?" Gabrielle continued to rattle off any and every question she could think of.
"Calm down Gabrielle," I said, laughing as she bounced around on my bed happily.
"But she's your Mate and you're my sister I just. I can't calm down. I'm so happy for you," Gabrielle spoke, and if her tone didn't convey how happy she was then her smile definitely did as it extended from one ear to the other.
"Come on Gabi, we can talk more later, but right now it's time for breakfast."
Gabrielle and I headed towards the castle together after getting ready, and the knowledge that I was about to see Hermione again had me over the moon with happiness.
A.N. Just a short chapter this time but look forward to the next one as it's time for the Yule Ball :D
