She watches him with interest and curiosity. He's new and foreign to their small world, where they know nothing else but colour and the freedom of nature. He's white, pure, like the glare from the sun during the hottest part of the day, so close to her as her skin is yellow and everyone else is in soft greens and blues and purples.
She wonders where he has come from, why he is so scared and why he now doesn't want his wings back; they're useless to him after all. She wants the other creatures to leave him alone, but before she can say or do anything they disappear anyway. It was a foreign sound which scared them away which she is now used to, and he too new to know he should be scared of it as everyone else is, and she takes the chance to move closer, a hand quirked up in their sign of friendliness.
Days pass, she watches him as he wanders around their land, experiencing their wonders and talents as they dive through the air and twist and twirl as if the breeze. They're a magical lot, without using magic at all, they're simply blessed with the knowledge of being truly in tune with their minds and body.
She smiles. White is pure, to be their king finally. It's been years since a worthy person has entered their humble part of the forest. And she, yellow for the sacred sun and the coming wealth, should be to be his queen. Also to be, his warmth.
Slowly, he moves forward finally, as do she, and she touches her cheek to his and they nuzzle, delighted in their touch of each other. She smiles. Yellow, instead of being the lone misfit, is to be sacred once more.
This is a challenge for FictionNET ( http / sycotic . org / fnet ) If you're looking for a nifty (mostly based on Harry Potter) writing forum, join Fnet and say that Keladryie sent you. It's seriously worth it.
The challenge here was for Septych, which is where I must create a piece for a set of seven somethings. This round was Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet. Here, as you can see, this piece is all about Yellow. :) The next piece, Green, shall be about the Matrix, the code to be exact. I hope you enjoy :)
