CHAPTER THIRTEEN: I Can't Wait to Kiss Him Again!
"Mai, are you nuts?!" Yukino's screamed echoed throughout her flat. It was early in the morning and Mai was having a delicious breakfast brought by Aunt Kawana from downstairs, albeit it's two in the afternoon, when the older woman barged in and started screaming.
"What's with the racket early in the morning?" Mai cringed at her assistant's shriek. Her head is pounding and she really didn't want to deal with a raging loud-mouthed woman.
"You declined Honey Lemon Entertainment?! Why?"
"Ah. That? Their Director's a trash." Mai answered. Her words are like cold water that poured unto Yukino. She was angry before but after hearing Mai's answer, she calmed down. Mai isn't the one who would speak carelessly so the boss must have a decent reason why she declined that entertainment company who was supposed to film the movie of her third book.
"Okay." Yukino answered, forcing herself to calm down before asking. "What did he do to you?"
"Not to me. Remember the artists that acted in the movie version of my second book?" Mai asked. Yukino nodded, remembering the two actors that had done an amazing job in that film. The movie was successful because they acted well according to character and they also have a clean background and personality. Yukio particularly liked them because they are easy to work with.
"As you know, we planned to hire them to act as the protagonists of my third movie. That trashy director caught a wind of our plan and hired keyboard warriors to splash black waters against them." Mai answered, pushing the tablet towards the older woman. If Mai had not opened her social media account after she finished washing up, she would have missed this event.
"Those artists do not belong to them and they refused to transfer to that trash's company. That trash must have thought that if those artists have a black reputation, then we wouldn't continue to hire them and recruit artists from their company instead."
Yukino read the reports and pitied the two actors. They are gravely being scolded by the fans for having a 'sugar-daddy' and their 'sexuality'. They are accused of being gay and having sugar-daddies after they were invited to model in a very famous clothing brand.
The two actors are newly trained artists from ORANGE Entertainment when they auditioned for the movie. They worked together with that trash director for RENE or Mai's second movie and the film was a success. The director and the artists also became known because of this success. Yukino selected that trash director because his movies have at least decent ratings but she never expected him to do things like these after the collaboration.
Yukino gave the screen one last sympathetic gaze before she switched it off, placing it down the table. She looked at the young woman who is eating her bacon and egg. Mai told her this so that means she wanted to involve herself in this case. Yukino smiled and sat in front of her.
"So, what do you want me to do?"
"I want you to help those artists. I still have use for them and go throw that trash where he truly belong. Don't forget the company that backed him in this act." Mai answered, wiping her mouth as she finished her breakfast.
"Roger that. By the way, have you sent your draft to Editor Souta?" Yukino asked her. She brought up her laptop to begin her work as Mai nodded and brought out her tea set to brew some tea. Yukino noticed it and raised an eyebrow.
"Tea? When did you become a tea person?"
"Recently. You should try it. It's pretty good."
"Hmm. Okay." Yukino answered just as the mini electric kettle whistle. Mai poured the amber-colored liquid in two teacups before adding milk. She placed the teacup in front of Yukino before picking up hers to drink. Yukino picked her own. She quite like the scent that the tea is giving off. Her face brightened after taking a sip.
"You're good!" She praised her little boss before taking a sip again. Mai smiled at her and thought of a face.
"You think Naru would like it?" Mai asked, making Yukino stop for a moment.
Yukino suddenly remembered the man Mai is flirting with a few days ago. She almost choked at the memory of what she had found out a while ago. This is her original intention of barging in Mai's flat before she had found out the previous issue they talked about. She placed the cup on the table with a playful before looking at the young woman who is still daydreaming. Her little boss would surely be surprise by her news!
"Macchan, you know, uhm, the Naru who you're talking about. Do you know who he really is?" she asked, playful and nervous at the same time. Mai made an innocent face before she gave a very bright smile.
"Yukino, I really struck gold this time. Can you believe it?! My Dear Husband Naru is my idol! My IDOL! KYAAH!"
'Ah. She knew.' Yukino's smile flattened before she pouted. She thought she could tease the young boss but she already knew before she could even say it to him.
"Yeah, yeah. You found your idol and got to flirt with him. You're the luckiest fan girl in the world." Yukino sarcastically answered before picking up her teacup.
"Right?!" Mai giggled sweetly before sipping her tea. She can't wait to meet her Dear Husband Naru again! She happily recalled the kiss before they part. Her lips couldn't help but to hook up as she remember their first meeting and their encounters in this life
"I can't wait to kiss him again!"
"How shameless." Yukino answered in a disgusted voice while looking at her boss like she's a pervert. She rolled her eyes at the love struck boss and prayed for that man's safety and mental state.

"Hello!" Takigawa yelled as soon as he open the door of SPR office. Matsuzaki and John is following behind him, saying the same greeting as his.
The three of them were met with boxes that are stacked on top of each other. Wrappers are scattered all over the room while Masako and Eugene are arranging books and furniture. Lin came out of a room carrying an empty box while Oliver came out of one with a scowl on his face.
"What are you doing here?" The young boss immediately interrogated as he went to aid his brother with the books. Eugene smiled at them while Masako gave them a small bow.
"We heard from Gene that you'll be moving in your new office so we came to help." Takigawa answered him, not offended by his tone. He went to Masako and help her with the furniture.
"Yup. Yup. Where would I put this vase?" Ayako asked as she showed them the vase she picked up from a box. Masako came and pointed the spot in the table.
"What can I help you with, Eugene-san?" John politely asked.
"Just fold those empty boxes and put them in that bag." Eugene answered him with a smile. Oliver saw their assistance and sighed. He didn't say a word and went back to unpacking.
"By the way, it has been a week since you met Taniyama-san. Did you contact her?" Takigawa asked. Oliver's flinch did not go unnoticed by them. The monk is definitely deliberate when he spat out that person's name. Oliver glare at them but they just shrugged and continued the topic.
"I called her once the case was solved and we agreed to meet today at five to have dinner. And you are all invited!" Eugene announced with excitement while his twin brother sigh in defeat. The newcomers happily cheered. They can't wait to see the bubbly woman again.
Oliver almost want to run away after hearing that arrangement. He and his twin have been fighting over thins since yesterday. He doesn't want to see that woman again but Eugene forced him to agree by challenging his pride an accusing him of being an ingrate. Oliver couldn't take such hit so in anger, he agreed. But now that he is level-headed, he couldn't help but to feel cold especially while recalling all their meetings.
Unlike any girls, that woman is not the one that will be scared at being threatened or glared at. In fact, Oliver could see her enjoying his harsh comments and looks. It is the first time this happened and he doesn't want to admit it but he wanted to stay away from her. Not that he is scared! Oliver is never afraid of anything but her antics just brought out all sense of avoidance in him. Mai is just like a spell that couldn't just break and Oliver is a bit anxious at how clingy she is.
It is very fortunate for him that he do not own a cellphone or else, he would have been harassed by that woman. He couldn't believe that woman has time to call Eugene's phone 5 times a day just to hear the sound of his voice. If she is not a lunatic, then what is? She is not that different from a psychotic stalker at how things currently are but why are his brother and Lin not thinking the same?
The other is encouraging him to try that woman out while the other is giving me a silent treatment and sparing no word to take his side. Oliver clenched his jaws while glaring at the papers in front of him, thinking they must have been infected by that woman's virus. Oliver gave the two a glare before walking towards his new office with his papers.
"What is with Shibuya-san?" John innocently asked after Oliver closed his door with a loud bang. The others looked at him for a few seconds before letting out a giggle. John tilted his head in confusion while watching them stifle their laughs and as the temperature decrease rapidly.

Mai picked her pen and signed the contracts laid in front of her. Yukino had already checked it and Mai also have nothing to complain about so she quickly signed her name on the bottom of the papers. As soon as she placed her pen down, the people sitting around the table immediately stood up with smiles on their faces. Mai gave them the same business smile and shook their hands one by one. After saying formalities for a few minutes, Mai and Yukino decided to leave the conference room to go home however before they could even leave, two actors came running towards them.
"Kawana-san, RENE-sensei! Please wait for a moment." The actors both stopped them in the same breath. Mai raised her right eyebrow and waited for them to say something. Yukino also did the same thing and the two of them almost looked comical at the way they moved at the same time. The actors looked stunned for a few seconds before clearing their throats and flashing them a smile.
"Uhm… W-we heard that you helped us in the matter yesterday. A-and we are her to express our gratitude in helping us and giving us a second chance. Thank you very much." They both bowed low in front of them, making Mai cringe for a second. She had not lived in Japan for so long so she really isn't used to bowing and being bowed to. To her, it seems like they are revering her like she is some kind of God and that doesn't sit well with Mai for many reasons.
"Ah. I hate trash like them." Mai told them, not minding all the eyes and ears on them. She snapped her hand and Yukino opened the door for her. "Since you're thankful, you better do your best while filming. I do not tolerate any failures in the projects I am involved in."
"Yes! Thank you, RENE-sensei!"
Mai gave them a smirk and left with Yukino. After the meeting, the ORANGE Entertainment, who is the new company that will manage the upcoming movie, posted an official announcement. Many are quite surprised that RENE changed it to the enemy of the company that she rejected. Some didn't believe it and accused the ORANGE Entertainment of creating fake news. Some even went to RENE's official account to ask an explanation but the only response they got is a like on that official announcement. That means RENE is well aware of it and the official announcement is genuine.
"Yeah! RENE's movie filming is confirmed and they also posted the actors who will act out the characters!" Eugene cheered happily while his friends look at him in surprise.
This guy suddenly screamed while they are ordering their meal for lunch and they are not the only one surprised, this guy's scream also attracted so many attention from other costumers. Some elders glared at him for not having discipline while some young ones whispered to each other, admiring how cute he is. Oliver who is seated beside him also didn't escape the unwanted attention. Oliver glared at his twin and slammed the menu down.
Masako, who is displeased at the fawning looks that his boyfriend is gaining, also scoffed and turned her head away from Gene. Gene gave them an apologetic smile and coaxed his girlfriend. John saw what is in his cellphone screen and exclaimed at the name posted on that announcement.
"Amazing. RENE-sensei is getting her novels a movie adaptation again." John's amazed tone caught his friends' attention and also read the announcement.
"Hm? I thought Honey Lemon Entertainment is handling her next movie?" Ayako asked while scrolling, reading the announcement intently.
"Well, I heard the director who handled RENE-sensei's last movie did some nasty deeds towards the actors who is from ORANGE Entertainment. RENE-sensei wanted them to star in this movie but the director splashed them with scandals thinking that RENE-sensei might change her mind. That offended RENE-sensei and broke ties with the director and his company." Masako answered for them. This information is not known to the media but she is a part of the show business so she knows an inside story or two.
"Ah. You mean the two main actors from RENE-sensei's second movie? They are badly scolded yesterday but miraculously, all of the scandals about them are erased and countered with a powerful attack. Their PR must be very skilled." Ayako nodded as she gave back the phone to Eugene. She turned to the waiter who just came and told him her order.
"But RENE-sensei is quite bold. She dared to make such a suspicious move before her movie was even filmed. Is she not afraid of being scolded by haters?" Yasuhara asked before facing the waiter and pointing all the foods he wanted to eat on the menu.
"Well, RENE-sensei is an independent writer. She is not bounded with any company but she only had one editor since she started writing. She followed that editor when he transferred to another publishing company. And she had a clean background throughout these years. She must have a rich backer or is the rich backer to be able to stay stable like that. Nobody even dared to offend her." Takigawa answered them.
"But I have read her first book and it is quite good. The characters, the plot, the development is top-notch. All the information about ghost hunting is also correct and spot on. She must be a ghost hunting enthusiast or had read a lot of books about this field to be able to give accurate information in her novels." The brown-haired monk added as Eugene nodded at his statement.
Oliver and Lin who finally caught up in their conversation also gave a nod. Because Eugene is a RENE fanatic, they also read some of that author's books and they were quite amazed at the information on those books. It was like she was an insider in their industry. Some concepts are also adapted from Oliver's books and theories. The story is also good and the events may happen in real life. The methods the author used in solving the cases in the novels are also possible and can be applied.
"Anyway, she must be a ghost hunter too but I don't know any ghost hunters that use the same method as us or at least followed Oliver's book."
"You mean Dr. Oliver Davis?" Takigawa suddenly cut in, face brimming in excitement.
"Y-yeah." Eugene answered, almost slapping his mouth for uttering his twin's name so familiarly. He nervously gave Oliver a smile and turned to his girlfriend while Takigawa is having his monologue about his idol. Not long after, a voice suddenly caught their attention.
"My Dear Husband Naru!"
