Vlad Masters looked at the control screen gladly. -Wham! Right in the buttocks!-he thought as watched Danny Fenton/ Danny Phantom fly away from his own house, cocky as ever…kind of, considering Jack Fenton had just blasted Danny in the bottom.
-You may think you made everyone forget, Daniel, but you didn't.- He looked down at the white jewel on his sleeve. –The gem of non-alteration, and the only protection against the Reality Gauntlet and its many uses. Not much use anymore, though...- he thought, taking off the cuff and slowly vaporizing it between his two fingers.
He turned off the viewing device, and began to walk back through the secret passage to his private study. –I knew that the Guys in White would listen to me when I told them Freakshow might know something. And, what do you know, everything worked out exactly as I predicted it would!-
Meanwhile, back at the Fenton's house, Jazz was frantically searching through her textbooks. –Why, why, why?- she thought, as she read one book, flipped through another, then tossed two more away to find a third. She gave a big smile, apparently finding what she was searching for. She opened the book and read for a few seconds, and then tossed it away, a mad look on her face. Apparently, all she'd found was a false lead.
-I don't understand it!- she thought, continuing to search. –I've looked all night, but I can't find a reason why Danny would erase Mom and Dad's memory of the event! It simply doesn't make sense!-
Back at Vlad Master's castle, he thought smugly to himself, -I don't blame Daniel, though. After all, I wouldn't want my parents knowing I was out fighting crime as a half ghost (or doing crime, in my case), whether they approved or not.- Then something occurred to him. –But…my parents aren't ghost hunters…hmmm…odd of young Daniel to do that.-
-Perhaps,- thought Jazz, -He simply wanted things to remain the same as it always has been? But that can't be it…he hates the way things are…doesn't he?"
"Or maybe," thought Vlad, continuing Jazz's train of thought, "He thinks that none of this should have happened, and simply wouldn't like changing reality? No…but things would be better for him that way, and Daniel's already changed reality before…hmm. Well, whatever. All I know for sure is…-
-All I know for sure is…-
they finished together: -…that Danny is quite a mystery.-
