Please review so I know people like it and to continue! Sorry for the shorter chapter.
I was just braiding my hair when a letter appeared on my desk, with the Winter court seal on it, addressed to me. Pushing the braid over my shoulder I sat down and opened it, curious to what Kallias would write to me about.
It turned out it wasn't from Kallias.
Dear Feyre,
I know I should use your title but I don't believe you really care and this is an informal letter, one as friends. It's me, Vivian writing and I need to tell you something. Remember, last summit, you and Rhysand looked really worried about something? That worried me too and some things I've been hearing lately I want to share with you, personally, not in a letter. I don't know how much longer peace is going to last and I'm scared. Scared because there's something Kallias and I could lose, something we didn't have last time. I'm pregnant. I only found out a few days ago and I'm not very far along at all, barely a month but I wanted to tell you. Mor doesn't know yet but I thought you'd understand more, being a High Lady and all and also knowing what it's like to have a mate. Please could either we come to yours or you come ours (I don't think winnowing is dangerous yet, but I know it is later on in pregnancy).

Vivian
I froze. Oh shit. Did she know about the coup or was it something more dangerous she'd been hearing? Obviously we had to have the meeting so I opened the bond.
Rhys?
Is something wrong? I can't feel anything.
Everything's fine Rhys, just, Vivian sent me a letter
What does it say?
I sent him the image of the letter down the bond which he scanned before replying. His reply was a little unexpected though.
Winnowing is dangerous!? Why didn't Madja tell us that?
I don't know but the meeting?
They can come over to ours. I refuse to winnow you over. Vivian says it's not dangerous for her yet so she can come here with Kallias.
Okay mother hen. I'll write to her to come over when?
As soon as possible
Love you
He replied with a pulse of love sent back before I wrote back to Vivian.
Dear Vivian,
Congratulations on your pregnancy! Of course we'll do the meeting. Rhys wants it done as soon as possible so come over the minute you're free (though not at some stupid time like 2am). How much would you and Kallias mind if it was at our place as Rhys won't let me winnow after he heard it was dangerous for pregnant females. If you haven't just guessed from that last sentence, I'm also pregnant – about 10 weeks along (2 and a half months). Very excited to see you again.
Love
Feyre
"They're here!" Mor shrieked a few hours later and I watched her from the door as she flung her arms around Vivian to the displeasure of Kallias. Rhys, Cassian and Azriel were all with me in the sitting room, Cassian and Azriel glaring at where they were through the door from where they stood behind me. I knew they could all scent Kallias and deemed him as a threat. I sighed. Cassian and Azriel would be kicked out for this meeting, not that they knew that. Kallias and Vivian then appeared at the door with Mor and Kallias snarled at the sight of Cassian and Azriel who bared their teeth in response, stalking in front of me. Quickly I shoved them out and Mor shoved Kallias and Vivian in before slamming the door shut. I could hear Azriel and Cassian being dragged away as they yelled, trying to get back at the door.
"And you thought I was bad," Rhys said, amused.
"You are, but that doesn't mean they aren't," I said, rolling my eyes as I waved to a sofa which they sat down on, us sitting opposite.
I watched both the males size each other up and rolled my eyes at Vivian, who just gave an exasperated grin back. Kallias then looked at me, his eyes falling to my stomach. Rhys gave a growl, tightening his grip on my shoulder.
"Rhys," I said, glaring at him. He swallowed before looking at Vivian and Kallias let out a snarl. Vivian gave a groan and I buried my head in my hands. "Dear Cauldron, get a fucking grip," I moaned.
"Agreed, we're here to discuss worrying matters and we're in an alliance, you don't need to kill each other, we're on the same side here," Vivian joined me in telling off the males, glaring at each of them.
Both Rhys and Kallias muttered apologies and then I sighed, turning to the door, not knowing whether to be more amused or annoyed. "Mor!" I yelled, "Cassian and Azriel are at the door and are eavesdropping."
There was a curse and some shouts as Mor and Amren moved them away from the door with some arguing.
"We need to be in there, you have no idea what could happen!"
"We have information that could be useful!"
"Kallias is an ally, he's not going to kill Feyre!" came Amren's grumpy voice through the wall. "Get a grip boys."
"Don't worry," Vivian said, smiling at me, "They're better than my brother and his friends. He thinks as my older brother I get no say in anything at all. I should never have told them," she said with a pout. "They've never been so protective before."
"Madja warned us that can happen. Any male that's close to the pregnant female will get an echo of the mating bond," Rhys explained, Kallias and Vivian listening with interest, "Though there is no bond the same feelings a male will get to protect his mate is echoed to all close male friends. Which is why Cassian and Azriel, well," he gestured to the door and Vivian and Kallias nodded.
"So, what kind of things have you been hearing?" I asked, eager to move the topic away from anything that could result in a fight.
Kallias rubbed Vivian's shoulders gently as she explained. "We have a few spies in the Autumn court, Eris having snuck them in for us. Beron's been communicating with Keir recently."
Both Rhys and I stiffened at that. "We'll need to visit Hewn city as soon as possible," I said, looking at Rhys but he shook his head.
"I'll go alone," he said, "I'm not taking you to that place."
I scowled, "If you're worried about them scenting my pregnancy on me then think again. My scents all over yours, they'll just scent it on you but they'll know you're scared."
Rhys didn't say anything, remaining stock still, Vivian and Kallias watching worriedly.
"So he's been doing this all without your knowledge?" Kallias asked, his hand now still on Vivian.
Rhys nodded stiffly and I then said without thinking, "Do you think he's involved with the rumours? If he was trying to kill off us having Beron behind him would work well. He'd need the support of at least one court and if the Illyrian's turn against us," I paused.
Rhys had gone white at what I was suggesting.
"That bastard! I'll kill him!" Cassian roared through the door and I sighed.
"Mor, let them in," Vivian called, "There's no point losing a door because of their anger."
The door opened and Cassian hurtled through, followed swiftly by Azriel. Both of them immediatelysettled as close to me as possible without shoving Rhys off which both Kallias and Vivian caught and smiled softly at.
"So Keir's working with Beron to overthrow you," Kallias mused, "That makes sense, Beron's the one to want you dead the most as he hates the fact you have some of his power." Suddenly he stiffened. "If he discovers you're pregnant they'll have to move their plans forward."
"Why?" I asked, frowning slightly.
"When you have your child you and Rhysand like all High lord's will be hidden away for months until the baby is strong enough to survive without a mother," Rhys's grip tightened at what that implied, "The child is the night courts heir, anyone in the night court would be delighted with the news of an heir, born or not when the news is announced. They'd do anything to defend you. Beron and Keir would need to get rid of you before you garner support, which would happen at the news of an heir. If they killed you after the baby was born it would be horrific, the court would turn against them. The summit's only in a few weeks when you have to announce your pregnancy, all High Lord's have to announce that kind of news at the next summit after they discover it. Even before announcing it to your court."
"So they'll try and kill me at the summit so the night court won't know of the heir so we can't get support," I said bluntly. "What about Rhys? Will they try kill him then too?"
"They won't be killing either of you or your child," Cassian snarled and Azriel nodded, "We won't let them."
"Announce the pregnancy before the summit," Vivian said and everyone stared at her. "What? When have you two ever cared about tradition? Maybe this can be the start of telling court's before the other High Lord's. It really should've always been that way."
"It's the best shot you have," Azriel said with a nod, "Some Illyrians are joining Keir because they hate us and believe Rhys is a terrible High Lord and they don't approve of Feyre but if they knew she was with child that would change things. She's proven she can have a child and the Night court is now secure again with the promise of an heir."
"So we tell the court. When?" I asked.
Azriel shrugged, "Before the summit definitely. Maybe before your visit to Hewn city as well. We need to make sure we have enough support before the summit so we can count on other courts supporting us when we confront them."
"We should do the same," Vivian said, "tell our court first. It's the most sensible thing to do. Then our court can prepare before other courts make plans, which happens when other High Lord's know first. This means we can be ahead of them, less chance of being caught by surprise."
After a bit more discussing we had dinner and then Vivian and Kallias, thanking us for hosting them profusely, left back to their own court.
Rhys immediately took me off to bed where I knew he wanted to talk.
"I'm sorry," he said, gazing at me, the sparkle in his eyes completely gone.
"Sorry? What for?" I frowned, not understanding why. He hadn't done anything wrong.
"Marrying you, mating you, forcing you into so much danger, even more so now that you're pregnant –"
"Rhys darling you never made me do any of those things. I love you. I wanted to marry you, to accept the mating bond. I was in just as much danger in Tamlin's court as here, even more so if you count the danger from Tamlin himself. Me being pregnant was a choice as well. I knew it was going to be a long shot as they're so hard to conceive, especially as I was made that could change it, making it harder or even impossible but I choose not to take the tonic. It was me who had to convince you this was what I wanted, remember?"
He did remember, I could tell. He just always blamed everything on himself. "I'm going to be alright, and if it doesn't go to plan, I know you'll all protect me," I finished softly, tilting his head up and kissing him gently. He pulled me closer so I was straddling him, my hands cupping his face, his on my back.
