U.A.
The siblings arrived much earlier than the other students mainly because Melissa wanted to score a great seat to watch her little brother, and Goku wanted to actually experience the Festival. Lots of people were coming in, but mainly Pro Heroes were the bulk of it.
Melissa left her brother to have some fun while she went on ahead. Goku went about eating plenty and playing some fun games. As he enjoyed this free time, the younger Shield heard a bit of gossip on the campus.
"I'm always psyched to see the Third Years since they've got the most experience with their Quirks. Plus, it's their last chance to show their worth."
"Nah, this time it's all about those powerful First Years. I can't wait."
"Hey, did you hear that Endeavor's son is one of the First Year Students? Can you imagine?"
"Seriously? Man, the stands for the first years are going to be packed."
Goku liked the fact that his class was getting attention since that could very well be the thing that helped many of them obtain their dreams. He kept walking before noticing some Pros at a sweet stand. The female of the group was drooling at the sweets there.
"I'll take one order to go please." She requested.
"Whoa." The baker awed. "Mount Lady, is it really you?"
"Oh, and hold the salt, will you?" Mount Lady asked.
"O-Of course." He prepped her food. "That's going to be ten bucks."
The Hero paused before speaking up. "Um… Oh no. My money's in another costume."
Ten bucks was placed on the table in front of her. She was a slight bit surprised and turned to see who did that. The other two Pros looked where she was looking too.
"This should cover for her, right?" Goku asked.
"Oh. well yes young man." The baker answered as he gave her the sweets she requested. "What about you?"
"Sorry, I was here earlier, and there are still a few more stalls I'd like to try before coming back around." Goku walked off. "Rest assured, yours is on the list."
"Hold on kid." One of the other Pros called out. "You pay for her food, yet we don't even get to say thank you."
"Don't worry about it." Goku smiled. "I know from experience how much food can mean to someone."
"Wait a minute." The other Pro noticed something. "Aren't you that kid who was on the news?"
"Yeah, I was." Goku confirmed. "My name is Goku Shield."
"Well, I'm Kamui Woods." He introduced himself.
The other Pro also introduced himself. "Death Arms."
"And I'm..." Mount Lady started.
"Mount Lady, right?" Goku finished.
"So, you know me already." She smirked. "You must be one of my fans."
"I've actually seen you on the news a bit." Goku explained.
"Aww." Mt. Lady stated sadly.
"Oh, I'm sorry." Goku apologized. "I didn't mean to hurt your feelings."
"It's fine dear." She giggled a bit. "I was just playing with you."
"Oh." Goku realized.
"You look in much better condition than the last time we saw you." Kamui Woods pointed out.
"Yep." Goku gave a thumbs up. "Recovery Girl is a miracle worker." He looked at them. "Hey, are you guys here to watch the games?"
"Death Arms and I are actually working security." Kamui Woods answered. "Mt. Lady came to watch the First Years though."
"That's great to hear." Goku stated genuinely. "Anyways, there really are more stands I want to visit." He shrugged as he walked off. "Maybe I'll see you three later."
"I do to." Death Arms commented. "I'll be rooting for ya kid."
"You've got my cheer too." Mount Lady added.
"As well as mine." Kamui Woods included.
"Thanks." Goku called back.
1-A Waiting Room: Later…
All of Class 1-A was now chilling in the waiting room, and Goku was among them feeling full. That was always a great sign. He also noticed Momo glancing in his direction a bit which did confuse him since she wasn't coming up to talk to him even though he was free.
"Aw man." Mina sighed. "Looks like Goku was right. We're all just stuck in the gym uniforms for this."
"I think it's to keep things fair." Ojiro stated. "After all, without our support items, every Hero Course student will be on equal footing."
"I can't wait for this to begin." Yamcha voiced.
"Well, you shouldn't have to wait long." Tenya informed. "Soon enough, it'll be time to enter the arena."
"Shield and Midoriya." Shoto stated as he walked into the room.
His words drew the two named individuals to him.
"What's up, Todoroki?" Goku asked.
"Midoriya, from an objective standpoint, it's clear I'm stronger than you." Shoto informed which left Izuku shocked before reluctantly nodding. "That said, you have All Might in your corner backing you up." Izuku was shocked by that before he continued.
"I'm not here to pry into what's going on between you two but know that I will beat you. As for you Shield, I think when it comes to power and capability, we're the strongest in class. I plan to show that my strength is greater."
"You can certainly try, Todoroki." Goku grinned. "In the end, I'm aiming for the top."
"Don't count me out." Izuku spoke up firmly which drew everyone's attention. "You want to know something? Objectively, you two are the strongest students in Class 1-A. In fact, you may just be the ones with the greatest potential in all the Hero Course. It's why Todoroki got in easily and Goku scored the best in the entrance exams."
Kirishima spoke up. "Midoriya, maybe you're being a little hard on yourself and us…"
"No, Todoroki is right." Izuku interjected. "In spite of what Goku did a month ago, everyone's going to be gunning for first place, and they'll use everything they got to reach it. That means all of us will have to fight to stand out." He made firm eye contact with both. "I'll be aiming for the top to."
Goku smiled at this friend while Katsuki ground his teeth frustratingly in the background at being overlooked. In the end, he'd show them all who truly stood on top. He would win the Sports Festival.
Arena
"HEY!" Present Mic greeted as he appeared on a monitor. "Make some noise you rabbid sports fans! Get those cameras prepped for the hoards! This year we're bringing you some of the hottest performances in Sports Festival History, guaranteed! I've only got one question before we start this show! ARE YOU READY!?"
Mic was hyping the crowd. Goku could see that some of his classmates were nervous, others were excited, and the rest were just being themselves. He also noticed that Shoto, Katsuki, and even Izuku were eying him down.
"This is just what I want." Goku clenched his fist. "Tough rivals that will push me to do my absolute best."
"Alright, let's start the introduction!" Mic announced. "This first crew weathered a Villain attack! It's the indominable Class 1-A!"
Goku smiled and waved at the crowd while everyone else was just looking at how many people were here.
"I-I didn't know there'd be so many people." Izuku commented trying to keep himself composed.
"I hope we're still able to give our best performances even though all these eyes are watching us." Tenya commented. "I suppose it's just another aspect of being a Hero we all have to get used to."
"Present Mic sure did talk us up a lot." Eijiro mentioned. "Kind of makes me nervous." He looked at Bakugo. "How are you feeling man?"
"I'm not worried." Katsuki smirked. "It makes me want to win this thing even more."
"What about you Goku?" Mezo asked. "You seem rather comfortable."
"I've had a lot of practice being in the limelight whenever my dad had some big event." Goku confirmed. "It was great training for this."
"They haven't been given nearly as much screen time, but this next group is still chock full of talent!" Present Mic continued. "Welcome Hero Course Class 1-B!" The class was entering the stadium and looked confident as ever.
Goku noticed Tetsutetsu in the front.
"Next up, General Studies Classes C, D, and E!" Mic added.
The General Studies classes entered looking a bit mixed in emotions just like 1-A. The purple haired guy from two weeks ago was there too looking just like he was last time Goku saw him
"Support Classes F, G, and H!" Mic kept going.
While the Support Course was being shown, Goku could see Mei in the group geared up and ready to go.
"Finally, Business Classes I, J, and K!" Mic finished the intro, and the rest of the students came out. "Give it up for all of U.A.s First Year Contestants!"
Everyone gathered to the center of the stadium where Midnight was awaiting to announce the introductory speech. "Silence everyone!" She cracked her riding crop silencing any talk. "And for the student pledge, Goku Shield!"
Goku walked up to the stage before glancing at everyone in the stands and those in his year.
"I just want to say that a lot has happened since we entered U.A. over a month ago." Goku began. "I'm sure many here can attest that U.A. has lived up to its name, but everything that's happened has just made us more determined than ever to be the best Heroes we can.
Now, I'm asking that all my fellow first years show what a month of U.A. can really do for a person. Let's show everyone here and watching abroad what we're really made of. Let's go all out!" He raised his fist into the air. "PLUS ULTRAAAA!"
Every first year exchanged looks before they all broke out into smiles and began to cheer. This prompted the audience to join in. Class 1-A knew their class rep well enough that they expected something like this, but most of them were still smiling at it.
"Alright, a moving pledge from Goku Shield of Class 1-A." Midnight spoke up getting everyone to quiet down. "Now, let's get this party started with the first event!" A slot appeared behind her. "What could it be?" After about two seconds, it stopped on Obstacle Race. "Tada!"
"So, it's going to be an obstacle course." Izuku commented.
"All 11 classes will participate in this contest!" Midnight explained. "The track is four kilometers outside of the stadium! I don't want to restrain anyone, at least in this game." She licked her lips. "As long as you don't leave the course, do whatever your heart desires!"
The crowd cheered before Midnight ordered the students to take their places. A nearby gate glowed green prompting everyone to head on over. They all waited while wondering what they were going to have to deal with.
Some were nervous, others were excited, but everyone was determined. The first light went out, and the crowd was getting ready for the show. The second light went out, and the students got ready to go. The last light went out and the door opened.
Midnight called out, "BEGIN!"
Obstacle Course
Everyone sprinted out the door with Mic announcing, "And we're off to a racing start! How about some colored commentary, Aizawa!"
"How did you talk me into this?" Aizawa asked exasperated.
"What should we be paying attention to in the early stages of the race?" Mic asked.
"The doorway." Aizawa replied.
The hall was crowded; however, people eventually began to make it out with Shoto taking the lead. He then froze the ground forcing everyone who wasn't prepared to be stuck. While most people were, there were exceptions.
Goku and Kirishima simply jumped at the right moment clearing the ice, Katsuki was in the air with his explosions, Yuga used his Naval Laser to blast himself off the ground, and Momo pole vaulted with a long metal rod coming out of her palm
"Nice trick Todoroki." Yaoyorozu called out.
This made Shoto look back to see the first wave of people that didn't get hit by his ice.
"You'll have to try harder than that to overcome a class that's been with you all this time!" Goku called out before doubling his speed.
"I won't let you get away so easily!" Bakugo yelled getting ready to blitz forward. "You icy hot BASTARD!"
Ojiro used his tail to clear the freeze. "You froze me in place once before, so it won't happen again."
Fumikage used Dark Shadow to clear the jump too. Some of the other students who didn't get stuck in place were sliding forward on the ice. Then, there was the purple haired guy who had other people carry him over the icy ground.
"I expected 1-A to achieve such a feat, but I didn't expect that from the other classes." Todoroki voiced.
"Todoroki, you said it yourself." Goku voiced as he managed to catch up to his fellow classman, "We are some of the strongest students in our year, yet you thought nobody would expect what we're known for?"
Shoto looked at him annoyed before picking up the pace as not to be passed by Goku. Eventually everyone saw that robots from the entrance exam were standing in their way.
"Target acquired." A bot spoke. "Terminate them."
They blocked the pathway ahead getting ready for a fight. Goku and Shoto, who managed to bypass them effortlessly, stopped as seven Zero pointers blocked their way beyond that.
"Ooh, enemies have shown up out of nowhere!" Mic announced. "I bet we're in for a treat here! It's a Robo Inferno!"
"So, this is what the other students faced in their entrance exams." Todoroki commented.
"I don't think they'll be all that tough." Goku grinned. "Especially since I'm much stronger than when I took on the Entrance Exam."
One of the bots attempted to attack, but Shoto used his ice in a massive attack. "They obviously went through a lot of trouble, but I wished they prepared something a little more difficult. Especially since my dear old dad is watching."
The ice completely covered the seven bots, and he continued forward. Almost immediately after, the seven bots toppled down blocking the path and stopping Goku from immediately following. Kirishima had even been trapped under one of the robots.
"That's Class 1-A's Todoroki pulling ahead with a devastating display!" Mic announced. "Amazing! He's one we should watch! It's almost unfair! Thoughts?"
"His attack was both offensive and defensive." Aizawa commented.
"No wonder he was let in on recommendation!" Present Mic declared. "He never even fought those Robo Infernos before, but they didn't stand a chance against his jaw dropping moves! The First Year Students are already off to one ROCKING START, and it's only the first round!"
Almost as soon as the zero-pointer settled, Goku ran up it and lept at the last possible second allowing him to soar over what remained. He rolled into the landing before sprinting after Todoroki once more.
Just as people were freaking out, Eijiro busted through the robot. "I'm alive!" He had managed to harden at the last moment. "I can't believe Todoroki would pull something like that. Anyone other than me would have been killed."
At that moment, some banging was heard, and someone was yelling. "Class 1-A's got a few bad boys, huh!" It was Tetsutetsu who's skin was now fully steel. "I'll smash that ice guy when I get my hand on him! Anyone else would've died!"
"Gah, our Quirks are basically the same!" Eijiro commented frustrated as they both ran. "How the heck am I supposed to stand out now?"
"You damn copycat!" Tetsutetsu called out.
Katsuki blasted his way forward and up a Zero pointer before pressing on. Sero and Tokoyami followed suit with their respective Quirks. Iida was keeping pace by kicking bots in his way and maintaining speed. Jiro took out some with her jacks and kept running on.
Kaminari short circuited any that got in his way and kept pace without going dumb. Uraraka easily made a path with her Quirk and then blocked the way behind her again. Ojiro beat down the ones in his way with his tail. Midoriya used a piece of metal as a weapon to cut down bots.
Yaoyorozu made a canon and took out the rest of them before moving on. The first obstacle was finished and everyone who was still around was moving on ahead. The next one was a giant pitfall, and Goku saw Shoto use his ice to slide across the ropes.
"I know I could just run over this, but there are plenty of people who could get over it faster." Goku glanced back and saw Bakugo quickly approaching while being tailed by everyone else. "Looks like I have no choice!"
The younger Shield blitzed forward before taking a leap of faith jumping into the pit.
"GOKU SHIELD JUST JUMPED INTO THE PIT!" Mic exclaimed shocked. "Wait, what is this!?" Goku ascended from the hole as he flew. "That first year is flying!"
Goku looked back at the stunned students before catching Ochaco's eyes. He gave her a wink signifying that this was an inspiration he picked up from her Quirk. He then flew on over the pit as Katsuki was now right on his tail.
Ochaco grasped the meaning before noticing Tsu was crouched down. "Don't tell me you're going to suddenly fly to."
"I can't fly." Tsu leapt forward and deftly landed on all fours atop a rope. "I can jump good though!"
"Well, that's something even if it doesn't beat flight." Mina commented.
"It's a shame my rival's sibling is already ahead since I was planning on showing him who the superior support is." Mei spoke up. "Still, this is my chance to show what I can do. My support items are going to steal the spotlight from even him. EVERYONE! Observe what my brilliant gadgets can do! Wire Arrows and Hover Soles!"
"Hey!" Mina exclaimed. "How come you get to bring all that stuff?"
"Students in the Hero Course get all kinds of combat training for their Quirks." Mei explained. "In order to keep things fair and give us a fighting chance were allowed to bring whatever gadgets and costumes we want into the games. All we must do is develop them ourselves!"
She then charged forward and showed off her gadgets. "So, sit back and enjoy the show!" She launched a wire and stuck it on a rock before using her Hover Soles to blast herself ahead. "For those of us in the Support Course, this is the perfect obstacle to show off our ingenious ideas.
We'll attract attention from any companies out there who might want to recruit us!" She laughed like a maniac as she continued to brag. "I hope employers are watching! These super cute little babies are sure to make a splash!"
Todoroki was closing in on the last obstacle when he looked back to see Goku and Bakugo soaring through the air. "Why am I not surprised Goku can fly?" He picked up the pace. "As for Bakugo, it took him long enough to get fired up."
"Looks like Todoroki is still skating by easily, but he's tailed by two others!" Mic announced.
"You suck!" Bakugo yelled out.
"I don't think trash talk is going to slow him down, Bakugo!" Goku called out.
"Don't think I've forgotten about you, Pointy Hair!" He yelled out as he blasted forward.
The others were making headway as well. Tenya was tightrope sliding with his engine. Ochaco floated her way across while enduring the motion sickness. Mina tightrope walked and melted the rope behind her.
Mezo glided with his limbs across. Yuga used his Naval laser like he did in the beginning. Izuku was hanging and climbing to the other side still holding onto the metal piece from earlier. Todoroki finally came the last obstacle which was a minefield.
He immediately started moving again in an attempt not to lose his lead. Even as he tried to move quickly, Goku came up alongside him with the intent to leave him behind, so Shoto lunged for him attempting to drag him down.
Given flight wasn't something Goku was too experienced with, this was troublesome. "Todoroki, get off!" He tried to maintain his flight path. "You'll drag us both down to the mines!"
"The school wouldn't set them to be lethal." Shoto retorted. "Plus, it's better than letting you get ahead."
"It's over, Bastards!" Katsuki called out as he blasted towards the pair. "He smashed into the tangling pair. "Your little war meeting failed to account for me!"
If there was one good thing to come from this attack, it was the fact that all three of them managed not to land on any mines as they fell. On the negative side, They all ended up in a tangled mess.
"Just like that, the front runners are down for the moment!" Mic announced. "There's nothing we like more than an upset especially as the other students are making it to the final obstacle!"
That only seemed to invigorate the other students as they began forcing their way through the minefield doing whatever they could to get ahead. This signaled to the three boys ahead that the others were coming up on them fast resulting in the three of them untangling.
They all began booking it for the finish while fighting one another and avoiding mines. Todoroki refused to let Goku take off again, Goku refused to let either of them pass him, and Katsuki wanted to beat the two of them into the ground before taking first place.
At this point, the three of them were just a flailing mass of limbs as they worked to not go down again. At the very least, none of them wanted to lose their position. Then, they stopped as there was a giant explosion behind them. They suddenly saw Midoriya soaring fast towards them.
"What just happened!?" Mic announced. "Whatever the case, Class 1-As Izuku Midoriya is suddenly in hot pursuit of first place!"
Goku was shocked and happy to see Izuku speeding towards them. He was even about to fly over. Todoroki and Bakugo were less enthused. Given his current mindset, Goku decided to do something a bit crazy. He jumped up at the right moment and latched onto the tail of the metal.
"Izuku Midoriya has just taken first place while Goku Shield caught the tail end of his ride taking a solid second place!" Mic declared.
Katsuki managed to correct himself and blitz towards the two in the air. "Damn it!" He yelled out. "I'm not letting either of you take first place!"
Todoroki was also catching up because he made an ice path for himself to run across and get over the mines. It would help other people, but he didn't care right now. He needed to get back in first.
Goku noticed this and decided to try something crazy. "You go on ahead Izuku!"
He let go and flew into both Katsuki and Todoroki with his arms out wide. Goku caught them unaware as he close lined them both sending them back to where they originally were.
"Look at that plot twist!" Present Mic announced. "Second place dropped back to the ground to defend Midoriya from the other two! That's what having a common enemy will do to you in these kinds of competitions, but the race is far from over!"
Izuku then slammed the metal on the ground forcing himself forward. He hit the ground but managed to roll to his feet before booking it to the end. Goku let go of the boys and flew after his friend as fast as possible. Just because he dipped back didn't mean he wouldn't aim for first.
Bakugo and Todoroki were quick to recover as they blitzed forward after Goku and Izuku using their Quirks to catch back up. All four of them eventually reached the tunnel and moved through it heading back into the arena.
"The first one to make it back to the stadium is surprise upset, Izuku Midoriya!" Mic declared.
Ultimately, only 42 students could pass into the next round, so when the next 41 crossed the finish line, the rankings looked as follows:

"Only the top 42 will advance to the next round, but don't feel let down if you didn't make the cut." Midnight informed. "We've prepared other opportunities for you to shine, hmm." She licked her lips. "Now, the real fun is about to begin.
The chance to fully move yourselves into the limelight. Give it your best." She pointed at the screen behind her as the slot rolled again. "Let's see what we have in store for you next. Will your wildest fantasies come to life? What could it be? The waiting is torture!"
The next thing Goku learned was how to fly, and it's all thanks to Ochaco's Quirk. That said, as displayed in this chapter, it's not exactly perfect. Goku has to be more aware he's carrying something to manage it, and he wasn't too confident in his flight hence why he chooses to run. When the prospect of falling so far behind cropped up, he decided he might as well go for it. Of course, Todoroki and Bakugo weren't just going to let that stand.
Monster King: Thank you
NickNays135: We'll see, your welcome, and thank you.
ArguableReader(Ch 4): It'll probably slow down like my other stories have. Then again, my first fore into superheroes was Ben Ten x Young Justice, and I've so far written two stories of that series. As for Wrathful, it is utilizing the power of a Great Ape while in base form, so I'm going to say they are both a ten times multiplier. Broly's Wrathful I feel is more tied into his mutation as the Legendary Saiyan hence why it escalates in power.
On the chance that this is not what you are talking about, as I said, mastering the form will equate Goku to present day All Might. While Wrathful is a 10x multiplier, diverting energy to keeping your mental state and in check is going to prevent Goku from getting that full multiplier like he should have. Right now, he is less than a present day/injured All Might. Once he does master the form, he'll be one that All Might's level of power.
ArguableReader(Ch 5): Yeah, I get to be a rarity of class rep selection. Let's go!
ArguableReader(Ch 6): Mina was kept at the entrance; however, I felt kind of bad for her in canon. Everyone else that was left there got to do something to get Kurogiri away from Iida except for her. Might as well put her on the boat where she could do something. Actually, Toru was with Todoroki in canon and here, but she certainly wasn't going to check him. What you say about Denki is true; however, he short circuited his brain which just makes him stupid. Addtionally, he was held hostage by an electric Villain. That means even if he were mentally there, his power wouldn't have saved him.
ArguableReader(Ch 7): More about this Piccolo Jr. will be revealed. Semi-Super Saiyan is a movie thing, and all, save the super movies, aren't meant to be canon. That said, my running theory is that any time Goku does go Semi-Super Saiyan, that would be maybe 15-25 times increase compared to Super Saiyan. I say 15 to 25 because I'm not entirely conviced Semi-Super Saiyan would be a 25 times increase; however, this is all just a head canon I have about a non-canon form, so take it with a grain of salt.
ArguableReader(Ch 8): Saiyan's, besides being naturally strong warrior, tend to take to Ki like a duck to water. So, you are right in that it would come naturally to him. A definite problem that Goku would face is that this Earth doesn't really observe Ki like it should. That said, certain characters who did exist in canon Dragon Ball do have Quirks that share some link to what they could do with Ki. An example being Yamcha's wolf like powers. As for the attacks, I'll keep them in mind.
