So for this chapter we once more go into an interaction between our spiky hero and the sun goddess herself, what might come of this? Let's find out.

Chapter 8: A Promise to a Goddess

Amaterasu, the very origin of Tamamo no Mae herself was sitting on a shining throne right across from Touma, her head resting in an open palm as she sat in a laid back position giving him a smirk that was a cross between sinister and entertained, her nine golden tails waving about in a hypnotic pattern.

Touma initially thought it was Tamamo but quickly corrected himself, the woman looked like her but it most certainly wasn't her at all.

"Who are you?" He asked.

"Why it hurts me to hear you say such a thing, though given the circumstances of recent events it's no surprise you would not remember me." Amaterasu said with mock hurt.

"I can't help but feel like I've met you before, if anything."

"You most certainly have, and I'm feeling generous enough to give you a recap, I am the origin of the one you call Tamamo, the goddess who reigns over the Sun, Amaterasu no Ookami.

Touma stood in silence from the introduction, unable to find words, Amaterasu then expanded her throne to leave room for a second person, she then patted the open spot.

"Come, sit with me."

Touma slowly made his way to Amaterasu, he then took a deep breath and sat down and his eyes began to wander about the goddess's figure, she had such a glamorous body he began to feel his face heat up.

"See something you like boy?" Amaterasu asked in a sexy tone.

"Ah! I'm sorry for staring, I didn't mean to…well…uh."

The goddess began to snicker.

"Such an innocent response, a young man in the spring of his youth overflowing with urges."

"I'm not overflowing with anything!!!" Touma snapped in embarrassment.

"You say that but you have yet to truly know a woman, don't you."

Amaterasu took Touma's left hand and gently brought it to her breast, she really enjoyed teasing him.

Touma couldn't bring himself to look her in the eye, he was drawing blank on what to do, his hand had a mind of its own as it occasionally squeezed Amaterasu's breast, it didn't help that she moaned either each time.

"What do you want from me?" Touma finally gasped out.

She finally let go of his hand which he reeled back quickly, though he still felt the sensation.

"I was merely bored and decided some entertainment was in order."

"Oh, well I'm glad this Kamijou is the one to relieve your boredom oh great Amaterasu." He said sarcastically.

"It would be wise to not play such a tone with me boy, be lucky I'm even showing hospitality." She snarled.

She then summoned forth a table set with cups and a jug of sake which poured by itself, she then offered a cup to Touma.

"I'm a minor, I can't drink yet."

Amaterasu rolled her eyes at the statement.

"Indulge yourself, there are no drinking rules here, and it's not like your physical body will be affected anyway, I merely did this to help you relax more."

Though still hesitant Touma took up the sake, and upon getting one drink in he started hacking up not use to the hot alcohol or alcohol in general.

"Ok I'll bite, what is it you really want with me?" He asked eyes narrowed.

"Hmm, I was hoping to drag out this little game longer but it seems you're the astute type who's quick to suspicion where it matters."

"There is more to you than meets the eye, and I believe you're not the type to let others be…touchy… with you." He said red faced.

"True, but you had no problem being very touchy with HER right, so why should I be any different, I merely wanted to humor you to feel the touch of a real goddess's body, besides I'm a 'good fox' right?" She said slyly.

"When did that happen!!!" Touma yelled feeling even more embarrassed.

Amaterasu began to laugh as she casted forth a big orb of light, it then showed Touma's dorm room, particularly the bed which showed him and Tamamo sleeping together, he saw himself jolt awake somehow not disturbing the sleeping girl and looked over to find her crying in her sleep and then started petting her which got a reaction out of Tamamo.

All Touma could do was just watch silently as he witnessed himself roaming his hands along Tama's petite form.

"Who's a good fox, who's a good fox? Yeah."

Touma then witnessed Tama spring her arms up and catch him in a grip kissing deeply, and after a few seconds of struggle accepted it letting her make out with him for a bit, then stopped to let him breath.

I love my master."

The orb then faded out, Touma's mind was now in overdrive thinking about what he had just witnessed, it then hit him that what he saw was a memory prior to the Index incident, quickly standing up he walked in front of the goddess, he then sucked in a breath and bowed in seiza prostrating himself to the slight surprise of Amaterasu.

"Oh mighty Amaterasu hear this lowly humble Kamijou's plea!! I beg you to allow me to witness whatever memories you hold of me and Tama you have, I will do anything to repay you within my abilities."

"Anything?" She asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Of course."

Amaterasu closed her eyes as she thought it over, letting Touma's words resonate in her head like a broken record, she then opened them coming to her consensus.

"No."

"What!!"

"I said no, are you deaf boy?"

"I heard you but I want to know why, why would you withhold something so vital to person, it's cruelty at its finest!!"

Amaterasu merely had a neutral expression on her face, uncaring to the boy's angry outcry.

"Cruelty you say." She got up from her side of the throne and began to walk about hands behind her back.

"Walk with me boy."

He then joined her at her request.

"Do you know how gods are born, what fuels our very existence?"

"They're…subject of human worship right?"

"You are correct, gods are born from the wishes of man to explain the very world they walk, forces of nature given form and consciousness, though my case is a little different."

"Different, how so?" Touma asked skeptically.

"I among many other entities were derived from the collective evil of mankind itself, though many would look at me as a goddess I am much more attuned to…a beast, so cruelty as you put it is merely one of the things that come with such, after all it is the true nature of humans to be so right?"

"I know humans can do some messed up things and did so throughout much of history, but I'd like to believe there can be more good to humanity then what you claim." Touma said sternly.

Amaterasu looked at him with wide eyes before busting out into laughter that echoed throughout the space, she was holding her sides as she tried to reign in and breath.

"Oh really?" She walked up to Touma and framed her hands to each side of his face making him panic.

"Um-"

Before he could get a word in she leaned in and started french kissing him for a few seconds before backing off leaving him to stare blankly at her, her hands never leaving his face.

"You're so cute." She said genuinely.

"Ah…ah ah um."

"It's quite a sight to see, truly you are an innocent naive boy, reborn into a world that wants so badly to make you suffer, a blank slate, yet to carve out an existence."

She then snaked her head beside his and and gently bit his ear.

"So easy to manipulate." She whispered as shivers went down his spine.

Amaterasu backed up feeling satisfied with her little game of teasing, as Touma calmed himself.

"Tell me something, do you believe there is any good in me?"

"I believe there is, you just need someone to help bring it out."

"Naive of you, I'll have you know I've killed many throughout the ages, a lot of times they enter my domain and become incinerated by my light, and I always feel immense satisfaction for every bug I squish, don't you see I'm an irredeemable monster that the world would rather see vanquished."

"I want to believe that there is always another path where everyone can come out with smiles on their faces, even someone like you!!" Touma declared resolute in his belief.

For a moment Amaterasu was stunned at the bold proclamation before quickly regaining her composure.

"If you're merely putting up a front to stroke your manhood, all you have to do is ask and I can do that for you." She said going back to her teasing tactics.

"Gah… mmm, I stand by what I say, no matter what if someone is down a bad path and I'm there I will do what I can to correct their course and go for a better ending without suffering." Touma said quickly putting up defense against her teasing.

Amaterasu's eyes narrowed as she saw no sense of a lie in his words, he was genuine.

"If the world decided to come after me to give me just punishment for my sins would you step in to defend me?" She pressed.

"I would do what I can to fend off anyone from you, so you can properly atone without death."

She then gave him a very hard stare as she saw his eyes become those of a dragon, his piercing gaze meeting her own.

"Would you fight the very heavens itself if it meant I could remain in this world?"

"If I have to go as far as to fight God himself then so be it!"

"You know I might just up and cause mayhem should your little pet unleash her full might reverting back to me, I can destroy up to 3000 worlds, would you still try to stop me and unlock this good that is supposedly in me."

"Of course, if you think I'm just gonna let you rampage and hurt people I will go out of my way to stop you, and if you really think you're not capable of having any good in you, that you're nothing more then a monster to be put down, I'LL SHATTER THAT FUCKED UP ILLUSION OF YOURS!!!!!!" He boldly declared as he clenched his right fist.

"Is that a threat BOY." Amaterasu growled as she began to emit heavy pressure in the area.

"Not a threat, but a promise." He said calmly unknowingly emitting a pressure of his own.

The two continued to stare at each other unblinking till Amaterasu broke into a fit of laughter, she laughed so much she fell to the floor and started rolling, she then stood up once more though she was still giggling.

"Interesting! Most interesting, you continue to hold my looming attention, you truly are a mystery I am just dying to figure out! Ahahahahaha!!"

"This isn't funny, I mean it!!"

"I know you do, you can't tell a lie to save your own life!"

Composing herself once more she gave Touma a daring smile.

"Very well, I accept."

"Huh?"

"I accept your Little challenge of subduing me to your very ideals, however I will bring two conditions in."

"Conditions?"

"If you fail to change me, you will swear yourself to me as my slave forever."

Touma gulped at the thought.

"And the other?"

"If, and this is a very big IF, you manage to sway my heart to your ideals, I will take it upon myself to reward you."

"Uh, what kind of reward, may I ask."

Amaterasu began to bat her eyelashes at him then closed one eye leaving one open giving him an I'll tell you look.

"You will be granted the privilege and pleasure…of making love to me."

"Uh….HUUUUUUUUHHHH!!!" Touma was completely shocked at what he just heard.

"Do be grateful, I wouldn't offer something like this to anyone, and I see you as a far cut above the rest of the bugs in this or any world."

"You can't be serious about that last condition, right?" Touma asked in a fit of disbelief.

Amaterasu then turned around but kept her head facing sideways looking at him as if to say 'go on an find out.'

"Well, it's about that time to wake up isn't it, and for me to grace the world with my light again, until next time boy."

With that Touma blinked once and found himself awake in his room, it seemed he woke up much earlier then than the others, Index was snoring away, he looked at Tamamo who lay next to him facing his direction, he took his hand and gently started caressing her face with just the knuckle, a small blissful smile formed on her face, she looked at peace.

Slowly he got up so he wouldn't wake her, slipped on his sandals and made his way to the door, making his way to the balcony, the sun was just coming out of the horizon, he silently watched it rise as dawn was breaking, he then brought his right hand up to envelop the ever distant star and close it in a fist, the door suddenly opened up behind him.

"Touma, what are you doing up so early?"

"Nothing Tama, just admiring the sunrise as all."

"It is beautiful, the very light of Amaterasu blessing this land as she always had."

Touma looked at her upon mentioning the goddess, he thought about the promise he made to Amaterasu.

"Are you ok Touma?" Tamamo asked, worry etched on her face.

"Yeah, I'm ok Tama, I just like watching the Sun with you as all."

He felt her lean up against his body, with a happy expression, he then took his arm and wrapped it around her waist bringing her closer which made Tamamo happier as the two reveled in each other's company.

AN: I got to say it, who here wants the Touman to show Amaterasu his 'dragon', that aside that's another chapter down and the stakes got interesting, hope you enjoyed the read folks.
