A/N: When words are Italicized they are meant to represent the Courier's own personal thoughts in a particular moment. Thanks for coming all the way to Chapter 3 by the way. It means more than I can express through words. Now we actually get to see Six in the world of RWBY. More importantly we will get to see how she acts as an agent of change for its people.

Chapter 3: A Needed Interrogation

Throughout the city of Vale, there was silence. Citizens quietly walked through its streets, going about their usual business. The atmosphere was in an ideal state for a perfectly calm and peaceful night. At least it would at first glance. In actuality, in just a few minutes things were about to take a very sudden change of events for the people of Vale.

Inhabitants turned to view the no longer empty streets as several Police cars all headed towards the city's center. What was the rush? Some of the citizen's curiosity got over on them, and thus many of them started to chase after the vehicles.

With such a large quantity of commotion erupting in such a short amount of time, people found only one idea for who could've possibly started it all. The White Fang. A Faunus terrorist organization that was, after some recent attacks, well known for creating trouble whenever people least expected it.

It wasn't exactly the most strenuous theory to take into consideration. Especially with them acting increasingly aggressive at a rate that was getting a lot of people worried and prepared for the worst. This theory on who was causing the commotion only strengthened as more and more vehicles went in the direction towards the situation. Whatever this was, it was absolutely a threat to take seriously.

All of the Police cars strategically stopped in front of the individual entrances that led to the very center of the city. Whoever was in there, wasn't going to have an easy time getting out. Each of the Officers stepped out of their cars, and proceeded to lock their weapons onto the suspects. Or, well, suspect. Surprisingly, there was only one suspect.

Now, some of you less mentally gifted people might wonder, "How could one person create so much tension and get half of the Police Department chasing after them?" But I think it is safe to say that the majority of you all know who the title goes to.

The Courier was always good at accidentally creating a lot of trouble wherever she went. Of course, there were many times where this trouble impacted people in a positive manner. She referred to the ability as a gift and a curse. Mostly a gift thanks to all the fun it and excitement it can create.

Six analyzed the weapons the Officers carried, not that she was fully aware they were law enforcement. From the look of the weapons, they didn't seem like they would pack a whole lot of a punch. Unlike the encounters with the wildlife she had back in the forest, handling these guys would probably be a piece of cake.

Fully understanding this wasn't to transform into a talk our way out of this encounter, the Courier took an opportunity to formulate an attack strategy. You would think that someone who spent the last few months resting couldn't formulate such a strategy. Never question the skills of the Courier! Unless it's Intelligence 'cause that's fair game.

Okay, now let me think. Euclid's C-Finder is 100% out of the question. Used that up getting out of that forest. Gauss Rifle is great when it comes to inflicting damage. But with all the reloading I would need to do, I'd get shot dead by the time I get a third shot out. Riot Shotgun, absolutely not. At this range I might as well just throw a couple of rocks at them. A Light Shining in Darkness, maybe. Decent power, and I can reload it in less than a second. Esther? If I didn't use 50% of my Mini-Nukes in the forest, that was absolutely going to be my first choice.

Checking over the rest of the weapons she carried, which were enough to supply a small country, the Courier found that she could narrow the option to only two of them. Either the unique .45 Auto, A Light Shining in Darkness, or the fully repaired Silenced .22 SMG that she stole from the Fiends. And then a thought came to mind. "Hey, what's stopping me from just using the two of them?"

She quickly equipped the weapons and went for the Pip-Boy screen to ready up VATS. But just as she was about to activate the favored targeting system, and possibly get a couple lucky shots off, the Officers and civilians started to evacuate from the area. Six wondered if she was truly that intimidating.

''Ha!'' She laughed out loud, thinking she had gained victory over the city. "A Handgun and Silenced SMG are all it takes to mess with these guys? Guess besides those monsters in the forest, I shouldn't expect too much of a challenge in this place. Now, where should I go-''

Now as it would turn out, withdraw was not the correct term to use for the Police's sudden change in movement. More like they saw a chance to strategically move away so someone who is a lot more professional can take care of the supposed terrorist situation.

A particular professional instigated combat with the Courier. They introduced themselves when they landed right behind Six, making a loud eruption when landing. As anyone else, Six was startled as a result of the noise. She turned around and attempted to open fire on the surprise foe.

But whoever this individual was, they were a whole lot faster than the Courier's Perception could keep up with. As a result, she found herself launched off of the ground, and then slamming face first into the side of a tree. Luckily, no more of Six's limbs were crippled upon such a painful impact. Still, she managed to take quite the injury from such an impressive attack. Whoever this was wasn't messing around, that was for sure.

She managed to get a quick look at the new instigator. It was a tall and older looking woman, wearing what Six could only describe as unseen clothing. But she didn't take too much time looking over the attacker. Instead Six pulled herself up and charged towards the enemy.

Her Saturnite Fist was still in an awful condition. But one good strike was all she needed to take someone out of any fight permanently. Using all of the might she carried and releasing it into a single punch, she aimed for the lady's face. But then, in a matter of seconds, she found herself slammed into yet another tree in a very early 1940's cartoon like fashion. Hopefully no one was getting a kick out of the sight.

The Courier groaned as a result of all the pain. Her overall health was vanishing at a faster than she was comfortable with. She wouldn't last much longer against this lady. But for some reason, the Courier laughed once again. She had only explored this region for less than a single night. But for some reason she was facing challenges greater than anything the Divide or the Sierra Madre ever offered. That was a little comical to Six.

''Just give up, you terrorist!'' One observer among a large crowd shouted aggressively towards the Courier. She looked to the large crowd, smiled, then gave each of them a separate taste of the middle finger. The Pip-Boy showed a notification telling Six that she gained a large quantity of infamy with the citizens of Vale. Eh, it isn't like I plan on staying around for a while.

Officers quickly swarmed the area, each of them pointing a weapon at the Courier, on guard in case she had any other tricks. They grabbed Six and proceeded to utilize cuffs to make sure she couldn't get away. She didn't even attempt to resist, knowing one shot would put end things almost instantly given the current state she was in.

The observers shouted loud cheers over to the Officers. The Courier had to admit, that actually stung a tad. She was well accustomed to getting loved and cheered on whenever she was seen in public, especially after victory against an enemy that was threatening the security of the Mojave. She was really starting to miss the Mojave, that and the rest of the Companions and friends she left there.

One Officer spoke to Six in an aggressive tone. ''You have a lot of fucking nerve trying to pull something as stupid as that." He didn't need to shout so loud, Six was sitting right next to him. "You nearly burn down the Emerald Forest, and then you start such a large panic like that. You're lucky no one was killed. Because if someone was, it wouldn't trouble me to put a few shots through your skull. Hell, I'd probably get a medal for it.''

The Courier surprised the Officer when she laughed even more. ''You gents clearly haven't witnessed the power of an orbital laser, several of my greatest Fire Bombs, which I made myself, Plasma Grenades, and just about everything else in my arsenal. You should all really get out more often.''

If it wasn't for the large crowd around them, the lone Officer might've shot Six right then and there. ''Well, we're all glad you find this situation so funny. Here is an idea. Maybe next time you can try to flood the whole city. Don't you just love that idea?''

''Oh come on." The Courier whined like a child. ''It was clearly an accident. I would never try to endanger innocent people like that. Sneering Imperialist I for one always show proper respect to the law. Well, except when I don't want to. Just ask some of my friends in the NCR, they'll support me for sure.'' Now that was a cheap move. Calling on a faction that owes its continued existence to you isn't entirely fair, not that Six cared. She wanted out of this.

''Alright, that's it." Uh oh, someone sounded upset. "Ramirez! Finish up with whatever you're working on. Take this one back to our Department and make sure she gets thrown into one of the more secure cells. I'll make sure to visit later and have a nice little chat with our new friend." Ramirez walked over. Unlike the other, Ramirez looked tired, annoyed, and really like the kind of person who hasn't slept properly in weeks. "Don't be afraid to rough this one up as much as you need to on your way.''

The Officer in charge was then interrupted while speaking to his subordinate when the woman who just moments ago kicked the Courier's ass entered the scene. The first thing she did was take a closer look at Six, who was made uncomfortable with the excessive eye contact.

She then spoke to the Officer in charge with a very professional tone and posture. ''There is no need for any of that, Officers. This miscreant, should you accept, is now under my watch for now. One of my superiors would like to carry out a private interrogation. I trust it is alright if I take custody immediately?''

The Officer who showed antagonism towards Six rubbed the back of his head. ''Well, Miss Goodwitch. You know the other Officers and I respect you and Ozpin. Especially after the way you took care this situation so quickly. But I also have my own superiors, and I don't think they would like it if I returned to the Department without...''

The woman, whom Six now knew as Goodwitch, removed a pair of glasses. She then spoke in a very stern voice. ''Your superiors also don't like to receive complaints from well respected individuals such as myself." Oh, now Six was starting to like this one. "They will almost certainly receive these very complaints if you refuse to act I've instructed. I would suggest that you surrender custody to me, now.''

The Courier let out a very childish giggle. ''I would listen to what she says if I were you." The Officer's attention was still on Goodwitch. Regardless, Six continued to mess with the man who was too rude for his own good. "She even scares me more than I thought possible. And I've met two separate Legates and over three types of Deathclaws.''

''Okay.'' The Officer said to Miss Goodwitch. ''I'll ask my fellow Officers to clear out of the area for now." Given the amount of cars, that was easier said than done. "Would you like someone to assist you with the transportation. Not that I'm saying you couldn't take care of yourself in another fight, of course.''

Wow, now that was some of the smoothest flirting I've seen, Officer. I could really learn a thing or two from you. Courier Six had to try very hard in order not to laugh at the private joke. She did let out a few quiet snickers, though they went completely unnoticed.

''I can assure you and the rest of your friends that there is no need for that whatsoever.'' She created and tightened a grip on the Courier just in case she would get any ideas of escaping. ''I will personally see to the transportation alone. As for the rest of you, there is still a city that requires your attention."

The Officer nodded, gave one last cold look at the Courier, and then moved on to talk with his fellow Officers. As for the Courier, she was now left in the custody of someone she knew she wasn't about to make friends with. Not wanting to anger the woman any further than she already did, the Courier started things off with a peaceful greeting.

''So..." She started, a look of annoyance already appearing on Goodwitch's face. "Doing good? Me? I guess I'm fine. Got attacked when a few of those things in the forest jumped me. It wasn't easy for me to kill them. I'm guessing you guys get a lot of trouble from them when they invade the area? I mean, my weapons are armour are completely torn to pieces, a good chunk of my ammo is gone, and I practically used up all of my Turbo, which as you probably know is not exactly the cheapest of chems.''

Before she could continue the long greeting, Six's new friend stopped walking, forcing Six to cease as well. ''Silence." Clearly Six hit a nerve. "I don't want to listen to another word until we arrive at our destination. The amount of trouble you have caused in one day is beyond worrying. Now understand this, the individual you will soon meet with is someone you will want to make a very good impression on. Failure to do so and I will deliver you right back to the police. Is that understood?''

The Courier couldn't exactly find the right words to respond with. Instead she just nodded at Goodwitch and continued to follow the lady who made it clear that Six wasn't an invincible force of nature. At least not yet. The time for that would come one way or another.

Interrogation. Something that Six had only suffered through a few times while traveling throughout the Mojave. It was the time when she was kidnapped by Legionnaires for information concerning Camp Golf. The whole thing didn't end very well for those looking for some quick info. Instead they were quite literally turned into Deathclaw food. She wouldn't talk then, she wouldn't now either.

For a moment she thought about making a quick escape attempt. After all, she still had a few weapons. The rest of Six's weaponry she was unable to sneak past security. But after remembering the most recent fight once more, she put the plan to rest. Still, she kept Sleepytime close to grip.

Miss Goodwitch entered the room, taking a seat in front of the Courier. Six sat up straight, height unmatched compared to Goodwitch's. Part of Six wanted to shoot the woman at that very moment. But just like Elijah said at the Madre, ''Your curiosity always gets over you.'' So she chose to instead see what Goodwitch wanted to know.

''I'm going to give you one final warning.'' Goodwitch said, looking into Six's eyes with a terrifying gaze. It almost looked as though she wanted to suck Six's soul right out. ''You must try to make a good impression. This is one of the rarest of opportunities you will ever receive. Nothing good will come out of wasting it so soon.''

Goodwitch opened the entrance to the room, and a new figure emerged. It was a man, most likely in his middle ages. He possessed silver hair, and his attire screamed the well known term Old World. For some peculiar reason, the Courier couldn't exactly place the man. Not like with Caesar, and Mr House. She knew what to expect from those to right away. .

The man took a seat in front of the Courier, and proceeded introduced himself after extending his arm. She had only received such a polite courtesy a few number of times. In the Mojave it's usually nothing more than a standard "Hello", or if you're luck a "Good to see you." Of course, Six got these all the time after she gained such an abundance of fame. She accepted the greeted.

She then received actual words from the man. ''Hello.'' Oh, guess things are the same after all. Still, the greeting was spoke in a tone that assured Six that there was nothing to worry about. ''My name is Ozpin. First off, I would like to apologize for the way you were treated in the town. I will need to talk with those Officers about the way to properly treat a prisoner. But I am positive you understand that we were only trying to maintain the continued safety of our own people.''

Six nodded and assured Ozpin she carried no grudges. ''No, it's alright, I get it. It was probably the only good solution for a situation like that. Even though I wanted to avoid them, I can't say for certain no civilians would've died. Lord knows I've seen way too many of those in my travels.''

''Precisely.'' He said, adjusting his glasses, sending a ray of light into Six's eyes. "Now, if you can find the answers, could you answer a few important questions that I managed to come up? It should only take a moment or two.'' The Courier nodded, seeing as it was only fair since Ozpin had asked in such a polite manner.

''Excellent. My first two questions revolve around the events that transpired inside the Emerald Forest." Made sense for Ozpin to poke at that subject. It was the thing that started it all. "I would like for you to explain to me why the forest was nearly consumed with flames, as well as for you to tell me the method you used to reach the city in the short span of time that you did. It is quite impressive, really.''

''I assume you mean the traveling part. Lets just say that where I come from you have to do a lot of walking and even more running if you wish to survive. As for how I nearly burned the forest down. A lot of the weapons I carried have a lot of destructive power. I had to use a lot of it to survive those things in the forest.''

''It is clear to me that you can take care of yourself quite exceptionally in the middle of combat." A complement Six was showered with whenever she fought in the Thorn. She loved those people. "And if I am not mistaken, you were able to kill quite a large number of Grimm out there on your own? Seeing as never received any of the proper Huntress training for surviving such an exhilarating fight, let me congratulate you on managing to survive. It was very impressive work indeed.''

Ignoring the complement altogether, Six asked about the term Grimm. ''Is that what you guys like to call 'em? Well, I guess I did. Pretty much ruined all of my Melee weapons killing all of them. Seriously, I had less trouble fighting against the Legendary Bloatfly. And let me tell you something, that was not a good time to forget my Cowl.''

''Strange, not a creature I have ever had the opportunity to encounter." Something told Ozpin that was a good thing. "Nevertheless, you've certainly proven yourself as a professional trained in several forms of combat. Which is why I would like to make you an offer. One I would never give out to just anyone who crosses my path." From the way Ozpin spoke about the offer, it made it seem like Six was going to get eternal life. Now there was something she would never turn away. "I am certain you've know of Beacon Academy? Everyone in and outside of Vale does.''

The Courier answered his question as soon as it was asked. ''Can't say I've heard of the place. We don't really get any amount of school work where I come from. Though if we did, I'm absolutely certain I would pass history class with flying colors. But aside from that, I've never attended a school once.''

Ozpin's eyes widened. How someone could live such a normal life without ever spending a second in a classroom confused the Professor greatly. Then again, given everything about the Courier, it didn't seem like she was the type to live out a normal life. ''That is, certainly interesting, to say the least. In any case, from your overall look, and... a few other characteristics, I am going to assume you are not from Vale?''

''Well from what I've already seen, you people don't know anything about the NCR, Caesars Legion, or even the Brotherhood of Steel." The news of the Legion's many atrocities made it all the way to the Capital Wasteland. This certainly wasn't DC. "That's more than enough to tell me that I'm clearly a very long way from the Mojave.''

''Hmm, perhaps if you are given more time, you will eventually tell me more about where you originate from?" He wasn't going to get a single piece of information out of Six with that kind of talk. Especially not if said information threatened the safety of Vegas. "But for now I only need you to answer a single question." Six was already prepared to answer any question that Ozpin could ask. "I would like to know the reason you fight.''

It was a useless question. Why does anyone choose to fight? Easy answer, they don't choose to. People constantly find themselves forced into fights they would've never partaken in if they were actually given a choice. At least, that was the original case for Six. She continued to fight evil for she saw fit. ''Because throughout my travels, which are always long and take me to places I never thought possible, I like to protect people from the evil forces that surround them all. And where I'm from, there was at one point the same type of evil all over the place. I guess that sounds pretty stupid to you, doesn't it?''

Ozpin smiled and gave Six a friendly pat on the shoulder. ''No, not at all. In fact, what if I were to tell you that the Academy's sole purpose is to train Huntsmen and Huntresses in the art of exactly that? Which takes us to my offer. How would you like to attend Beacon Academy and train as a Huntress?''

It took a lot of willpower for the Courier to refrain from releasing all of the laughter she contained. He wants me to attend a fucking school? Are you being serious right now or is someone going to pop out with a camera? If Six ever wanted to go check out a school, she could just pick from one of the many vaporized ones sitting in the Mojave. She was set on sharing this negative view on attending Beacon Academy with Ozpin.

But just as she was about to answer with a proper refusal, the Pip-Boy started to flash. However, only the Courier could see the flashes. One of the advantages that came with owning the Pip-Boy. It informed Six that she had just completed the mysterious Quest that originally led her to this world. In its place, a new Quest appeared. This one actually came with a proper name and objective. It was labeled as, "From a Courier, to a Huntress"

Needless to say, the objective didn't exactly make the Courier want to smile with glee. In all capitalized letters, the objective advised to accept the rare offer. So despite not entirely wanting to go along with the idea of enrolling, she sighed and agreed to at the very least check out the Academy.
