Chapter 5: A Needed Entrance

The Courier couldn't only take full advantage of the airship's stunning, amazing, and all around gorgeous view. It wasn't enough to make anyone cry, not Six anyway. But it was more than enough to put the Courier in pure awe. It was so spectacular that she even equipped the Codac R9000 and captured a few well timed shots.

As a result of Michelangelo sending Six on several additional Quests to take pictures across the Mojave, and even a few surrounding areas, Six's photography skills were above all and unmatchable. Sure, there isn't much use for photography in the Mojave. But Six wasn't going to pass up gaining an additional skill.

She would absolutely make sure to show all of the other Companions each and every single one of the photographs. Especially Arcade, whose head was likely to explode as a result of seeing such a large amount of scientific wonders. Ozpin eventually took notice of the excessive picture taking.

''It's quite the view, isn't it?'' He asked, shifting his stare to look outside one of the airship's other windows. ''I may already know the unfortunate answer... But I can only assume the Mojave isn't a place where you can ever find the opportunity to see a one of a kind view like this? If so, I am sorry.''

His assumption was accurate. ''Yeah, you could say that again. Hell, say it a few more times and it will only get more and more true.'' She said in a voice lacking any quantity of enthusiasm. She suddenly no longer felt like taking any pictures of the city of Vale.

''I've already seen my share of impressive views prior to meeting you." Each of those views probably had endless amounts of stories attached to them. "The greatest one was when I looked outside the Lucky 38 for the very first time." Which was shortly after getting paid quite the sum of caps for returning the Platinum Chip to House. She nearly fully sided with House right then and there once House promised Six she would maintain such a view if she continued to work to reach his end goal. It was a nice goal too. If not for the fact it required the permanent execution of the Brotherhood of Steel, which was made clear prior to Six meeting Veronica, and the fact that House clearly had no interest in protecting the people of Freeside, and was instead only concerned with Vegas and the money it made.

"Third greatest night of my life, actually." The second was when she acquired Rex from the King, and the first was when she received a pat on the head from Joshua Graham. To all of you that may sound weird. But you weren't there to see the wholesomeness, and trust me, there was quite a lot. "But never in a million years could I imagine seeing something like this so soon is possible.''

Now in a more positive mood, she pulled out an ice cold Nuka Cola. ''I mean, an actual airship. Gosh, it's so amazing to see one in person. I only know about them thanks to Veronica and the Brotherhood forces over in Boston." She needed to get an update on them soon.

"Of course, the one in Boston is supposedly much larger than this one." Which was saying a lot thanks to the airship's already large size. "But luckily for you, I'm a quantity over quality type of person. This thing would've easily won the fight against the Legion in a single attack." Six realized she was overdoing the airship's potential. "Well, it would first need to go through several important upgrades.''

''This model was created for the sole purpose of transportation.'' Ozpin quickly pointed out, causing Six to frown. Ozpin didn't take any liking to the idea of an individual or group using the airships to win a conflict or take another person's life. ''It was not made to cause any harm to others. At least not this type of airship.''

''So, you think that matters?'' Six asked in a uncharacteristically cold voice. ''I'm positive that oil was originally used as nothing more than powerful resource. It wasn't intended to be used for creating all sorts of death machines and fighting wars on a massive scale. Didn't stop everyone from making that big change happen.''

Ozpin sighed and moved back to the other side of the interior. ''I sincerely wish we could continue to discuss this topic even further. Hopefully when we can, maybe I can change a few of your perspectives?" That was wishful thinking. Once Six's mind was made up, it never changed. "But I'm afraid it must wait for now. It looks like we've finally arrived at the Academy. Why don't you take a look?''

Six returned the gaze to the favorite view of all time. Sure enough the airship was now in the process of landing. And what do you know, there was another Quest objective for her. Make a grand entrance. Now that was something she could do with little to no trouble. She seemed to do it almost every other time she discovered a new location within the Mojave or met an interesting group of people. Groups that didn't attack her on sight anyway.

You also need to add on the fact that whenever she enters a location where the Reputation with its people is positive, she does the exact same thing. Can you really blame her? Having people line up everyday just to give thanks to her went to her head fast.

Before leaving, Six had to make sure to take off her helmet. She figured that none of these people were familiar with the NCR. As a result the armour might seem a little off or maybe even strange to them. Well not as strange as the Hazmat-Suit and Darklight Cowl might look to them. Now that suit was just all around creepy. But still a pretty cool one, and especially useful when faced with a dark situation.

When the airship came to a full land, Ozpin made sure to take the lead when exiting. ''I should warn you that some of the other students have already heard of your arrival. I ask you to please make a decent impression on them. Their current view on you is most likely negative.''

That was kind of obvious. ''I assume you were already able to guess this, as the only things that they know about you is the fact that you're a foreigner and you are also the one responsible for that little incident that neither of us wish to talk about any further.''

Charisma 10 Six spoke in a tone that sounded naturally charismatic. ''Relax, Oz. In the beginning I didn't exactly make the best impression on the Brotherhood of Steel. But in the end I convinced them to fight alongside the NCR at the Hoover Dam. I should also mention that at the time the two sides were not on good terms. If I can handle that I think I can handle something as simple as convincing a few students I'm no worse than Caesar.''

Ozpin nodded, slightly impressed with the Courier's confidence. He also wondered who in the Hell Hitler was. As the airship's doors opened, Ozpin quickly led Six outside. The Academy's structure itself was breathtaking. It wasn't Sierra Madre levels of beautiful, but it was still beautiful nonetheless. Maybe this place has some good loot?

He was about to speak again, the Courier figured it would be something that was supposed to be inspirational, but was interrupted when none other than Ruby Rose suddenly appeared out of nowhere and made an entrance of her own.

''Hello,'' Ruby said in a very friendly voice, while Six just wondered where the girl even came from. She continued, ''My name's Ruby, leader of team RWBY. Yes I know that's very confusing. Over there are my friends Weiss, Blake, Jaune, Nora, Pyrrha, Ren, and my sister Yang.''

That was certainly a lot of names for Six to remember. ''Yang said you took out at least twelve Beowolves on your own without training, and we both think that's really cool. But Weiss says that you're probably going to start a lot of trouble. But don't worry, I have a feeling she'll come around eventually.''

Despite not even having a brain, Courier Six's head was starting to hurt. ''As for everybody else, I'm guessing they're all so eager to meet you. You've come at a pretty great time, the Vytal festival will be starting soon. Oh I'm so sorry, I'm being pretty rude. I haven't even asked you your name.''

Everything that Ruby had just said Six just barely managed to process. The young girl was talking so fast that she barely heard a word of what she had just been told. Using what little she was able to remember, Six crafted a response.

''I guess it's nice to meet you too. You can just call me Courier. Or if you'd like, Six. Actually, it was thirteen of those things you call Beowolves. I've had my fair share of training out in the Mojave. I'll introduce myself to your friends in good time. As for this Weiss, don't you worry about it. I have this special power that makes most people like me very quickly. Well, except for the occasional Warlord.''

After letting out a sigh, Ozpin looked to the Courier and said, ''I must apologize for Miss Rose's rude behavior. I had hoped for a much more polite greeting. Perhaps you can still receive one from a few of the other students who are a little more, professional with the idea.''

This time turning to Ruby, Ozpin informed her that, ''I'm leaving our newest student with you for the time being, Miss Rose. I want you to make it your personal goal to see to it that she feels as comfortable as possible. While you're at it you would be smart to give her a tour of the Academy. If you can find the time anyway.''

As a joke Ruby gave a small salute to Ozpin as though they were in the Military. Instead of returning a laugh he gave a parting nod to both of the girls then continued on his way. Ruby gave a hand motion to the Courier, signaling her to follow her. Six obliged her new acquaintance.

Colorful, of course not in any kind of racial way, was the best possible word that the Courier could use for describing all of the other students laid out in front of her. Should have brought sunglasses for this. She also found their attire to be equally as strange, even for someone use to the Mojave standard of clothing.

There was a long silence between everyone. It made the Courier incredibly uncomfortable. The whole situation reminded her of a particular moment involving Cass, the Van Graffs, and an expensive bill that nearly made her lose every cap she had. All she could do was hope someone would eventually break the silence with words rather than shots of Plasma. Repairing armour can be an expensive task.

Ruby was nice enough to try her best and breaking the ice. ''So... guys.'' She started, the situation managing to become even more awkward than before. ''This is Courier Six. I've already told her how exciting you all are to finally get to meet her. So, everybody hug and be nice to each other. Those are Ozpin's orders.''

Unfortunately, with a lack of luck on Six's side, she only received greetings from a few of the students. This included Blake, Yang, and Ren. Ruby doesn't count, as she already greeted the Courier only seconds after the airship touched the ground.

All of the other students thought for now they should keep a close eye on the person who, for all they knew, was cooperating with the White Fang, or yet another organization filled with people looking to spread as much fear and chaos as possible.

Six couldn't find any good reason to criticize them for the skepticism. It was like Ozpin warned, they haven't exactly received any positive information regarding Six's actions. But with a little time, that would soon change. Once she managed to get settle in, she would make sure to enlighten them with information concerning the good countless actions she committed that made the Mojave a safer place to live in.

Whispering to Ruby, the Courier made yet another joke. This one was obviously referring to the lack of excitement as a result of the arrival. ''It looks like my special power isn't going work on any of them.'' She said in a stereotypical intelligent voice. ''Maybe it's for the best if we just move on and start that tour I was promised. Besides, I can always try to make more friends once I'm used to this place.''

Ruby nodded as she started towards the other team members. ''Weiss, Blake, Yang, could you guys come with us, please? You might not get another chance to show someone around like this.'' She spoke to the rest of RWBY in a way that made it seem as though it was the kind of offer you would receive only once in your lifetime. ''If you do, things will move along a lot faster. Plus, I'll get mad at you guys if you say no.''
