It wasn't often they were set down on actual land, and then allowed to step off the boat for a while. This time though they were to be on ground for three days and all of the crew, even mal, were happy to be down on real land for a while, to breath the fresh air and eat real food for once. Even Wash, who was known to get a bit land crazy if he was down too long was still hyper, which was why Jayne had disappeared for a walk to escape his over excited story telling with those damn dinosaurs.

They had set up camp under a canopy of sorts, lit a fire at night and went walking during the day, swimming in a nearby river. It was bliss.

They were there waited for a part for the ship to arrive in the nearby dock which would soon be urgently needed once the old one broke, and for details of a new job to reach them. It was worth a lot, and so, worth the wait.

Jayne didn't know what he was out walkin' for though. To get away from the pilot, yes…but there was also something else on his mind.

His boots brushed past clumps of violets, and his eyes fell on them as he wrapped his mind, trying to come up with what he was forgetting.

Then…Ma's birthday! Of course! He'd wave her as soon as he got back to the ship, but he picked a bunch of flowers up anyway, pulling the dirt from them as he walked, making the bunch look all pretty like, bright and happy and fresh.

Then once he was back at the ship, he shoved them at River.

"Here – girlie…take them!" and with that, he was inside the ship already, escaping Simon's surprised but watchful eyes.

This is a challenge for FictionNET ( http / sycotic . org / fnet ) If you're looking for a nifty (mostly based on Harry Potter) writing forum, join Fnet and say that Keladryie sent you. It's seriously worth it.

The challenge here was for Septych, which is where I must create a piece for a set of seven somethings. This round was Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet. Here, as you can see, this piece is all about Violet and is the last piece of the set. You can see the others in this very account.
