Lapis and Connie sat on the girl's bed, holding hands in excitement. They were finally ready to show her off! They were both really happy, so she'd form with no problems.
"We'll introduce ourselves first, right?" Connie asked, smiling in a hush. "We should make sure they know we make a very fun, but also slightly mature fusion, so they know we can be trusted fusing into her! She's so much fun!"
"And her powers are amazing! They'll be so impressed, we make the most powerful fusion that the Crystal Temps have ever seen!" Lapis whispered. She then glanced down to see Jasper and Peridot were on in the living room. "Actually, we might want to get to it, they may be wondering what we're whispering about."
"I'm starting to wonder what they're whispering about!" Peridot hissed down to Jasper, holding a thin small rod as a part of her machine. "What if Connie is confiding in Lapis and not me about Yellow Diamond?"
Jasper seemed to pay her little attention as she pumped a dumbbell with one arm and lifted Peridot and her heavy device on the other, for a balanced workload.
"Jasper!" Peridot moaned.
"They obviously don't want to let us know about it." Jasper grunted. "And it wouldn't matter if she talked to Lapis about her mom, Lapis knows as much about Yellow Diamond as you do."
Peridot made a sudden fist, making the device part snap in half.
"Peridot! Jasper! We want to tell you something!" Lapis suddenly cried, flying Connie down to the floor in front of them.
Both of the gems straightened up, ready for whatever it was. Peridot prayed it wasn't a confrontation while Jasper hoped it wasn't a speech.
Connie gently got herself off Lapis' back and then turned with a grand woosh of her golden skirt. She smiled. "We'd like to introduce you to someone very special!"
"Yeah, someone incredibly powerful as well! You'll love her!" Lapis added on, popping up behind her.
Jasper arched an eyebrow in confusion. "Um… Where are they?"
The two looked at each other and giggled before they grabbed hands. Both were then silhouetted in a golden light and then she had arrived. Labradorite opened her eyes, then looked between Peridot and Jasper with a look of slight nervousness and a tiny smile. "... Hiya."
There was a silence as Jasper and Peridot sat, both with thier jaws dropped. The smaller looked a bit mortified at this new revelation while Jasper looked completely shocked.
"Uh… Do you two… need a moment?" Labradorite asked gently, glancing at the floor. She gave a small laugh. "I understand that this must be… crazy for you!" She then covered her ears, sure of what would happen next knowing the Temps.
Suddenly, Peridot ran up and grabbed the fusion's wrist, pulling the tall one to eye level. "HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?!"
Labradorite lowered her hands and then gave a tiny shrug with a laugh as Peridot paced in front of her. "I believe that Connie's love for Lapis in the moment before I was formed made a strong enough connection for them to fuse, even if she's mostly human."
While the fusion spoke, Jasper grabbed Peridot's shoulder and turned her around to offer her hand. The small gem accepted. They were wanting to learn more, together.
"I also… beat Garnet in my overwhelming rage! … Oh, my name's Labradorite! Sorry, I forgot to mention that, I'm talking to much right? Should I stop? I can stop if you wa-" A cream orange hand suddenly went over her mouth and she glanced up to see the much taller fusion, Andalusite.
The fusion of Peridot and Jasper looked magicistic with her long blonde mane that draped over her shoulders and with her powerful muscular build. She couldn't really fit that well in the beach house, her head was at the ceiling. She smirked. "Nice to meet ya, tiny,"
Labradorite backed up in surprise but then a smile bloomed on her face. "It's great to see you again!"
"I know, right?" The other chuckled. She then thought of an idea and smiled. "Hey, us fusions really don't get to talk at all, because we couldn't exist at the same time before Connie could fuse, we've got some catching up to do!"
"We do!" Labradorite realized with a beam.
"Come on, let's hang out in my room." Andazulite said, motioning over to the temple door.
Labradorite followed in surprise and stared at the door with amazement. "Fusions have rooms as well?"
"Sure do." The older smiled. "You've got a ton to learn about fusions, short-stack."
"Oh… yeah. Sorry, I got way too excited." Labradorite mumbled, suddenly saddened. She then felt a finger lift up her chin.
"You're so… weird!" The other fusion whispered, amazed. "I mean, you just changed emotions on the dime! Who caused that?"
"Uh-"
"No, don't tell me yet, let me get you all set up first!" Andazulite gushed.
Suddenly, Peridot and Jasper's gems glowed in unison and the Temple door opened. Labradorite was practically shoved in.
In what seemed like the blink of an eye, Labradorite found herself sitting on a cold metal chair and watching her fellow fusion hunt for equipment. She glanced around and saw the room was a gentle yellow hue that didn't seem to be like a solid wall, more like a see through barrier of some kind that only showed a cold white abiss beyond.
Despite the calming color of the room, Labaradorite noticed that there were many reasons why she should not feel at ease here. There were three prestige white computers along one wall and along the next was a variety of sharp weapons, medical kinds, like a scapal and tweezers. The young fusion felt her stomach flip-flop in panic.
"Um, Andazulite? W-What exactly do you like to do as a fusion?"
"Me? Hm, sorta…" She thought for a moment as she wheeled over a heart monitor. "I like to know how things work. Like how they're made, what they're personality is like, if it's something alive, what they're strengths and weaknesses are and most importantly in the case of you," She bent down and smiled at her fusion sister. "how you managed to beat Garnet."
Labradorite blushed slightly. "Oh… that. Well-" Suddenly, a thermometer was stuck in her mouth. She gave a mumbled "huh?"
"Hmm… interesting…" Andazulite whispered, looking at the tempere. She then snatched the thing away and started to put on her next device.
"I thought you said we'd be catching up…" Labradorite grunted, flinching as a small clip attached to her finger in order to monitor her heart.
"Yep! We are!" Andazulite cried. "I'm going to learn all about you." She then fell into a larger chair opposite of Labradorite. So, when and where did you first fuse again?"
Labradorite allowed herself to smile, and laughed slightly. "Um, like a week ago? … At the Prime Kindergarden where I beat-"
"Hang on!" The other fusion jolted this down quickly on a portable screen and then nodded.
"...Garnet. Um, I was made when Lapis said she was worthless! And Connie could relate to that because she also feels really, really worthless too sometimes! It's…. rather depressing that I was made out of self-hate."
"Depressing, or logical?" The other smirked, writing that down as well.
Labradorite wrinkled her nose slightly. She felt quite offended. Was she saying she was just supposed to be some stress reliever? "What's that supposed to mean?"
"I mean that of course they bonded over that. Think about it! Lazuli was supposed to be a high ranking nobel gem, and completely failed."
"...I don't want to talk about this anymore." Labradorite muttered with a small growl.
"and Connie was supposed to be her mom, Well, maybe she is her mom? We've never addressed that fact."
"I'm not! I mean… she's not! We're not?" Labradorite was starting to get confused. She then shook her head. "Next, give me the next question."
"Would you consider yourself fit to help with and maybe lead a mission?"
"I need more time to get used to… being me. But even then, I'd not be a good leader."
"Why's that?"
"Because I'm Lapis and Connie combined into one!" The fusion laughed. "They're too emotional to handle that kind of responsibility! I mean, Lapis already is a wreck and Connie's probably just going to repeat after her mom in the leader position!"
"..I didn't know you felt like that…"
"I do! Here's some more information for you! When I'm emotional, I can create massive storms and can control fire, ice, water, and electricity!"
"That's… nice-"
"That's too much power right?" Labradorite didn't wait for a response, answering herself. That's what I've been thinking too! But really, what else would you expect? Part of me was made to run universes and the other was made to kill that one! I could probably destroy the town and hurt people I love if I even get a t-tiny bit mad! I can't even control myself! Isn't that funny?" She forced out a laugh, it sounded loud and hollow. But that wasn't funny at all. It actually scared her how extreme her powers were.
"Okay, I think we should be done with the questions now." The older fusion whispered, noticing the other's hands were glowing gold and she had started to fly upward without noticing.
"No, no, please, pry open my inner thoughts and feelings more!" The other muttered sarcastically. "We should talk about the war, or maybe about Yellow Diamond and how she left everyone? You just had to get me worked up, didn't you?!"
"Kid-!"
Suddenly, there was a loud boom of thunder and Andazulite glanced up to see storm clouds were billowing. She looked at Labradorite in slight fear.
"Wh-what do we do?" Andazulite cried to herself. "Urgh, I don't know! She's over reacting!" She then grabbed her head. "Is she? We did bring up Yellow Diamond and how useless they feel! You have to admit we're at fault too! We should've never brought her here! All she wanted was to talk to us like a normal person but we had to lock her up in here like some… some lab rat!" The fusion gave a groan in pain, feeling her body practically ripping apart as her form glowed. "Urgh!"
Andazulite was then gone, in her place, Peridot and Jasper sat on opposite sides of the room and looked at each other in shock.
Suddenly, the room started shaking and crumbling around them, and the metal materials were crushed by parts of the now falling celling.
Labardorite's sadness and anger melted into shock, seeing cracks forming in the ground. She then realized the two had unfused and quickly flew down to them. "What's happening!?"
"Since Andazulite is gone, the room should be gone too! It can't exist without her!" Jasper called over the crumbling. She thrust her hand out to Peridot, but suddenly a crevice was created beneath the small gem.
Peridot gave a screech in terror, clawing out for something, anything to grab on to.
Labradorite has no time to gasp, she sprang into action, flying down with lightning speed and catching Peridot by her wrist.
The gems glanced up to see the temple door was high up and far away since the room was sinking itself.
The fusion gave a grunt and then slung Peridot onto her back. She then swooped over to Jasper, grabbing her by both hands. Around them, tall metal shelves started to fall, making Labradorite give a cry and force her wings to spark and then catch fire. The heat was so intense it melted away their obstacles, and the gems finally made it to the door, just as it was about to glitch closed forever.
They all barreled into the living room, Labradorite unfusing after colliding with the sofa table.
Connie gave a moan in pain, and opened her eyes to see she was back home, on the couch, and herself again. She looked over to see her fellow gems laying nearby. "Oh gosh! Are you guys alright?"
"I'm okay…" Lapis mumbled, sitting up.
Jasper and Peridot slowly rose and looked down at the two younger gems, looking shaken at what had just occurred.
Lapis and Connie glanced at each other, and then back to them.
"We're sorry!" Both pairs cried.
They looked at each other in shock.
"What are you guys sorry for?" Jasper asked in confusion.
"Yes, please enlighten us, because I believe we were completely out of line." Peridot added on.
Connie gave a sigh. "Labradorite, we had no idea that we'd make her so sensitive! We didn't mean to, er, she didn't mean to."
"Yeah, she got way too defensive." Lapis mumbled with a frown, hugging herself slightly.
"Andazulite was worse! She was going to experiment on you!" Jasper cried.
"She would not if Labradorite was going to destroy her room, which she was! Our fusion was the worst!" Lapis protested.
Connie smiled and then stood. "I think we can all agree that both our fusions were a bit much today, but I've been wondering... would you allow us to make her again? Even after how dangerous and temperamental she was?"
The older gems looked surprised, and then glanced at each other. They smiled.
"Of course you two can!" Peridot answered. "I still let Malachite happen and she's tried to kill me on multiple occasions!"
Jasper and Lapis grew flushed in slight anger at her mention and the tiny gem gave a laugh. "Er, what I mean to say is… We'd love her no matter what, and would be happy to see her again anytime you two feel up to it. I mean, did you see her!? Oh, wait, no you didn't because you were that amazing person!"
"Aw jeez, where do I start on how awesome she was in there?" Jasper added on, ruffling Connie's half and putting an arm around Lapis.
The two blushed in joy as their teammates praised them on their amazing fusion, and knew that someday when she was needed again, Labradorite would be back and ready for whatever came next!
I am so sorry guys! I had an extremely long case of writer's block for all of this chapter, because I had no idea what I wanted it to be. If it feels a bit forced at some point, it's because I just forced myself to write in some areas when I couldn't think of anything. This was mostly to explore Andazulite and our new fusion Labradorite and their personalities. Being made of two very emotional gems, Labradorite tends to get very defensive very easily, which is why her reactions are always drastic and extreme…
Also, September 2, 6:00 everyone! The movie looks absloutly incredible! Who do you guys think this new villain is? Morganite? A new Pink Diamond? Or someone completely different? Comment, I'd love to hear from you!
