The field she was in was lush with grass and blue flowers. Forget-me-nots, Connie was quick to realize. She wondered why she was here and started to stand.

Suddenly, a sharp pain erupted through every bone in her body, pulsing, aching, burning! She gave a scream in pain, feeling like her very bones going to crack.

"Connie! Baby, what's wrong?" Doug cried, shaking Connie awake.

The girl awoke, still screaming, before realizing she was safe. Most of the pain was gone, but Connie still felt her body was aching and would never forget that feeling of terror, like her body was going to break. She shakes violently, holding herself with her eyes wide.

"Connie, what's wrong?" Doug repeated, switching off the nature documentary they had been watching at his home. "Are you okay?!"

"I… I felt like my whole body was about to be broken…!" Connie gasped in fear, tears running down her face. "I've never felt that much pain before, much less in a dream! … But it's gone now."

"I'd better get you home. Peridot will get worried if you don't arrive at ten on the dot." Her father muttered, glancing at his watch. He looked back at his child with worry. "Are you sure you're okay?"

"Yes." Connie mumbled softly, still clutching her body in case it happened again. "Let's go."

The two soon arrived at the Beach House and Connie walked up the stairs slowly, having thought about all the pain she had, and trying to remember where she had seen the forget-me-nots…. She wondered if it was a memory of… "Blue Diamond…"

Her father stopped rolling up his window to glance up at his daughter in surprise. "What was that?"

"The dream, the flowers in them reminded me of Blue Diamond." The girl answered. She then looked back at her father with suspicion. Did… mother ever talk about her to you?"

Doug looked surprised, but then got out of his car, sitting down beside the girl.

Connie sat down too, hoping for some kind of answer.

"Your mother, she was always mysterious to everyone. But to me, she opened up to about something she couldn't with any gems, her feelings. She told me once that feelings were something she often had to hide from her subjects and even the other diamonds: Pink and Blue…." The man whispered, smiling with a blush. "She honestly was afraid to tell me anything she was feeling at first, and whenever I brought up the shattering, she'd just stop. After a while of silence, she'd speak again, but as if I had never asked a thing about Blue."

"I see… Thank you." Connie whispered with her eyes narrow. They rose up and she kissed her father on the cheek before heading up the steps to sleep once more.

The field was back. With it, Connie saw a broken-down machine of some sort that had vines wrapped around it, time had destroyed it. It was a giant blue cage with diamond-shaped holes in it. Suddenly, the pain was back. Connie shrieked in agony, clutching her body. She awoke crying out in pain.

Connie hasn't been the only one to see the device. She had evidence that it was real: the journal of Buddy Budwick. After waking up and thinking for a moment, Connie had called Steven and asked if he could pick up the book for her while she researched on what exactly the device was, or was most like anyway. She came with a blank as to what it could be called until Steven showed her the book.

"Here it is! The palan-quin!" Steven announced as they looked down at the book.

Connie quickly searched the word up on her phone and read the pronunciation. "I believe it's pronounced palan-keen."

The Crystal Temps suddenly warped in and the kids leapt up at the chance to ask them about the illustration.

"Have you guys ever seen this thing before?" Connie asked. "I saw it in the dream, the one I woke up screaming from!"

Lapis went closer to see but grumbled in confusion. "I'm sorry, I've never seen anything like that thing."

"Lazuli, let me handle this!" Peridot muttered, pushing the gem aside. She looked at the image though and her face froze into a look of shock. She suddenly grabbed Connie's shoulder so tightly that it hurt and ripped the book from her hands. "W-Where did you get this!?"

"Steven got it from the library, why?" Connie asked, pulling away in surprise.

Peridot showed Jasper the page and the big gem narrowed her eyes.

She glared down at Connie with fire in her eyes. "You're not going there, Connie, you are staying here with us." She then looked to Steven. "And you'll go home and pretend like this never happened, you'll never bring it up to Connie again. Now get out."

"W-WHAT?!" The children cried in shock.

"Whoa, what in the world is going on?!" Lapis cried, stepping in front of the kids.

"This doesn't concern you." Jasper hissed down at her.

Lapis looked shocked and frightened. She knew it was a battle she couldn't win, so she backed down. Connie wasn't so wise.

"I told you to leave!" Jasper yelled to Steven.

The boy had tears in his eyes, shaking in fear. "I'm sorr-!"

"Steven, go." Connie whispered. She glared up at Peridot and Jasper. "I need to do this alone."

Steven looked worried for her, but nodded. He then left.

"Y-You can't do this! This isn't fair!" Connie shouted to Jasper, her voice trembling. "You all told me no more secrets, but now you're locking me inside my own home! I need an explanation! You have to take me there!"

"You have no choice in this, Connie." Jasper growled. "Go to your room, I'll talk to you-"

"NO!" Connie yelled. "I won't! I've had enough secrets! You WILL take me there!"

"THAT'S ENOUGH!" Jasper boomed.

Connie fell back in shock. Jasper, in all the time that the girl had known her, had never yelled so loud or angrily then in that very moment. She was terrified.

"Upstairs… now." Jasper hissed to the girl.

"No!" Connie cried, wrestling the book away. She tried to run but was caught quickly by Peridot tripping her with her pole.

"You aren't leaving this house until you get it out of your head that you're going to that place." Jasper growled. "I won't risk losing you."

Connie sat on her bed alone about an hour later. She glanced over to see that there still was a heavy metal wall and door blocking her bedroom from the living room. She was a prisoner in her own house.

There was a sudden knock at her door. In anger, Connie didn't answer.

She heard the door open and stared ahead while Jasper sat down beside her.

"I'm sorry." Jasper grunted. "I know I shouldn't have yelled at you and Steven like that back there, but you gotta understand: you can and will never go to that place…"

The girl didn't reply, staring at her wall.

Jasper gave a sigh. "You can hate me all you want, kiddo, but I'll accept that if you're safe."

Nothing.

"...Peridot will put the wall down tonight..." Jasper whispered, she then walked to the door, glancing back at Connie. "We can put all this behind us if you just say you won't go there."

Connie narrowed her eyes.

"Fine! Be like that!" Jasper growled, finally letting her temper get the best of her.

Connie heard the door slam and immediately stood up from her bed. She had secretly torn out the page with the palanquin before Jasper could reach her and had stuffed it in her pocket. The girl would never forgive herself for hurting a book, but knew that she would never be able to forgive the Temps until she found out the secret. She sheathed her sword in her scabbard before placing it on her back.

Connie gently opened the door to see Lapis was standing right outside it. The woman gasped in surprise, seeing her.

"What are you doing?" Both of them asked at once.

"You guys can't keep me locked up here forever, and I'm not going to just forget about it!" Connie growled. "Please, you gotta let me through!"

Lapis surprisingly stepped to the side and the girl looked at her suspiciously.

"Look, I don't like secrets either. Jasper never hides anything from me, so I need to know. I want to come with you, but Jasper would quickly realize that you were gone without me here to cover. Just stay safe, that's all I ask. Use your sword and your powers if you run into any trouble, though I doubt you will."

"Oh, thank you!" Connie cried, hugging Lapis. "But what if Jasper finds out?"

Lapis smirked. "Please, she'd go into a mom-panic and race after you, she'd forget all about me."

"Ok, if you say so." The girl whispered. "I love you."

Connie rode Lion down to her father's home and hurriedly knocked on the door. "Dad! Dad!"

"Honey, what is it?" Doug gasped, opening the door to her.

Connie took out the page from her pocket. "Look! I saw this in a dream. But Jasper and Peridot won't tell me anything about it, I know it has something to do with Blue Diamond! Please, can you come with me to figure this out?"

Doug looked confused for a second but then sighed. "Honey, if the Temps don't want you to go, I don't either."

"I'll have my powers, and the place is abandoned! Please, I know you want to know about Blue Diamond, weren't you always curious about her?!" Connie begged, grabbing his hands.

Doug looked down at the girl's gem and then back at his daughter. He gave a sigh. "Before, I would've said I wouldn't in the blink of an eye… But this thing is causing you and the Temps so much stress, and it's made me worried so much about Yellow… I'm done being in the dark. Let's go."

After a very long flight, Connie and her father were soon in North Korea, where the book had said the palanquin would be.

"Ok, now to go find out what they're hiding!" Connie cried, running out of the airport. Doug ran after her and grabbed her shoulder.

"Hang on, pumpkin. We're in a whole new country! Can't we relax and have fun for just a few moments?" Doug asked.

Connie looked at him and saw he was practically begging.

"... Okay, but only for an hour!" Connie announced.

Hours later, Connie and Doug had finally finished seeing all they had wanted to. They had visited a bustling town, ate incredible food, Doug got a new blue shirt from a little shop. Doug at one point even noticed a teenage girl who was happily writing on her phone, she didn't look from around North Korea, and the words in her story that caught his eye was his own and his daughter's names. He brushed it off, hoping the girl was merely using the names as a conicince.

Finally, they arrived at the base of a mountain ridge, where they knew the palanquin was located.

As they started to walk up the hill, Connie felt her body ach more and more, her bones trembling inside her. She gave a grunt in pain when they were halfway there, falling to the ground.

"Connie!" Doug gasped. He quickly helped her up and was shocked to see the girl shivering.

"W-We have to keep going." Connie croaked. "I-I can walk."

Doug has to keep his arm wrapped around her shoulders, practically having to carry her up the mountain. She felt so weak.

When they finally reached the top, they found a fence waiting for them.

In both English and Korean a sign said keep out, but underneath it was a English sign that was written in cursive that said please.

Doug flashed back to before he had met Peridot, Lapis, and Jasper, realizing it was the same little sign he had seen that fateful night. The Temps must've been there at some point to make sure people stayed out…

"Get on my back, you're too weak to climb." Doug muttered. Connie sadly agreed with him, knowing she'd just end up curled in a ball if she tried. The girl wrapped her arms around his neck and he climbed over as gently as he could, not wanting to hurt her.

Connie gasped suddenly and released her hold. She fell to the ground but pushed herself up to stand. "Dad, look!"

The two saw a palanquin much like in the drawing, except instead of diamonds, the holes were shaped like flowers. Connie noticed that the device was also pink, not blue like in her dream.

"EVERYTHING'S NOT OKAY, PEARL!"

Connie felt the ground shake and heard sharp cracking in both the ground and faintly from something that sounded like glass. She felt the strong pain back again with a force. She fell to the ground, gritting her teeth so she wouldn't scream in agony.

The father and daughter shakily crawled up to some bushes and were horrified at what they saw. It was the blue palanquin, the one covered in thorns and flowers from Connie's dream, but in front of it stood a tall woman.

Her skin was a rosy pink, her fluffy hair like a blossoming flower. Her diamond-pupiled pink eyes had dark rose bags underneath them, like she hadn't slept in years. She wore a pink burgundy top with puffy pink and white shoulder pads, it was cropped above her stomach, showing her gemstone. The woman also wore rose pink pants with a small skirt that matched the shoulder pads and pink flats. Connie felt her breath leave her when she saw her gem: a beautiful, perfect pink diamond.

Pink Diamond seemed to be breathing hard, and the soft pink glow around her suddenly faded when she noticed a much smaller figure had fallen to the ground before her.

Another Pearl, the two realized, one that was pink and had princess-styled twin hair buns on each side of her head. She also had her gem on her stomach, and wore simalar clothing to her Diamond. The gem was clutching her right eye for some reason.

Pink Diamond released a sigh, and Connie finally felt normal, the pain disappearing as quickly as it had come.

The Diamond leaned down to her Pearl, looking upset. "I'm sorry… but that was your fault. You shouldn't have stepped so close. And saying that it'll be fine when… when-"

"I'm so so sorry, My Diamond." Pink Pearl whispered, giving a shaky smile. "I deserved it."

Pink Diamond gently made her Pearl put her hand down from her eye and Connie saw her lean in to do something. A light tingling sound came from some power and the Diamond gave a sigh. "Better?"

"Much. Thank you." The Pearl blushed.

Pink Diamond turned back to the palanquin then and rubbed her eyes, she looked exhausted. "Oh Blue… I wish you were here. I know, I'm not supposed to be here at all, and that you-know-who's going to get all creepy and send soldiers after me, but I had to see this planet, my planet, one last time."

"The pain, Pink Diamond was making my gem part feel it, that's why I felt like my bones were going to shatter!" Connie whispered. "She can hurt a gem's form!"

"What are you doing there?" A sharp growl from the Diamond suddenly asked.

Connie and her father froze in horror. They then realized with relief that Pink Diamond was merely speaking to her Pearl. They then panicked again when they realized that the Pearl was right in front of the bush.

"I heard a funny noise!" The Pearl giggled.

The two flinched away but suddenly a pink ribbon came into the bush, wrapping around Doug's arm. The human was confused until it sudden yanked him out of the bush.

"Dad!" Connie cried softly. She peeked over the bush to see the Pearl smiling almost creepily down at her father, who was shaking.

"Oh my! Look who I found hiding from us!" The gem laughed, grabbing Doug and forcing him up to his feet.

Pink Diamond turned to him and her confusion turned to a face of surprise. She then smirked. "How adorable. The little human is frightened of us."

"I-I don't mean you any trouble." Doug grunted, putting his hands in a diamond salute.

"... How did you know to do that?" Pink Diamond whispered in shock.

Doug's hands fell and quickly realized it was very suspicious-looking that a seemingly nobody human could know the salute of gemkind. "Er, this little pink lady was doing it, my lady?"

"Lady." Pink Diamond muttered, blushing in surprise. "I am no lady, not like this! You humans are as funny as you are annoyingly persistent in life!"

"What do you mean?" Doug asked, surprised.

"Well, you try so hard to live long! And somehow, you have done it on this planet when Blue could not." Pink Diamond said coldly, her tone had very quickly changed to malice.

"You lost someone, I assume." Doug muttered, hoping to appeal to the youngest Diamond.

Pink narrowed her eyes. "I have."

"It's just… I lost someone dear to me too and… wanted to ask if you were alright." Doug whispered. "... It's really hard to cope when someone you love is gone."

A single tear rolled down Pink's face and she quickly wiped it away. "Interesting. You know how I feel… It's so rare to come by creatures that are so emotionally-driven like I am. I think I've only seen one other person of your kind like that, I've been hunting it."

Connie backed away slightly in worry, knowing exactly who Pink Diamond was speaking of.

"Hunting who?!" Doug cried in surprise.

"A young child, a girl if you would like to call it that. She's called Connie, a Pearl told me of her. The girl hides herself from me with a murderous resistice to my home, no doubt her innocent mind was corrupted by them long ago." Pink Diamond growled, inching towards Doug. Her mood was quick to change to glee. "Ah, you are so adorable, little human! I don't want the Cluster to destroy you!"

The Diamond smirked down at him and motioned to her Pearl who promptly grabbed the man's arms. "You'll make a fine substitute to the child. I can't wait to play with you."

"Dad!" Connie whispered in shock. She tried to make her destabilization powers come but she realized that she was still too weak to perform even the smallest thing. She unsheathed her sword, prepared to fight.

Pink Diamond suddenly bent down and then lifted her leg up before stomping down. A heeled pink leg ship suddenly came out from behind the clouds.

"Let me go!" Doug cried, but the Pearl shoved him into the pink palanquin that came to them with a happy grin as her Diamond was finally excited about something.

Pink Diamond went into the palanquin and laughed, her body started to glow pink. "OH YELLOW! IF YOU CAN HEAR ME, ONE OF YOUR PRECIOUS HUMANS IS NOW MINE! YOUR REBELLION IS NEXT!" The door slammed shut.

"No! Wait!" Connie yelled in horror, clutching her body in pain as the ground cracked beneath her. She sprinted out of the bushes and to the palanquin that started to rise up to the ship. "Dad!"

The girl jumped as high as she could, using all her diamond strength to thrust herself into the sky. She reached for the ship that turned its heels to her. It suddenly went int a faster than light speed, and was then gone. "NO!" Connie shrieked, tears rolling down her face.

Her body immediately started to fall and she held herself, sobbing, struggling to breathe through tears. Suddenly, someone caught her.

Connie looked up to see Jasper had caught her and they landed roughly to the ground.

"Connie, are you hurt?!" Jasper whispered as the girl only wrapped her arms around her mother's neck, crying. "Oh kid-!"

"I'm sorry, I'm so, so sorry! Why didn't I listen to you?!" Connie sobbed, burying her head into Jasper's hair. "I-I should've stayed in my room, I should've never even asked about it! M-My dad, he's gone, he's just gone! It's all my fault! What are we gonna do?!"

"Pink Diamond isn't stealing another person I care about." Jasper growled, glaring up at the sky. "We're going to space. We're going to get him back!"

Whew! Finally, we see Pink Diamond and her Pearl! As you can see, not much has changed from her original self expect she is sorta bipolar emotional wise now, and she has bags under her eyes from watching over Homeworld without Yellow or Blue. Connie and the Temps will have to face their biggest challenge yet!
