Connie gave a moan, waking up to find that she was no longer in the lab. She sat up and found that she was no longer in her jeans and hoodie, but a beautiful pink dress. She felt like a ballerina in it, it being pink and having a skirt that reached just above her knees. It was also very well-designed with intricate patterns of flowers stitched into the bodice. She twirled around in shock, gently feeling herself in it. This was unsettling, why had Homeworld dressed her up like some sort of doll? Wasn't she a prisoner?

She then saw then strange pink force field screen in front of her and gently touched it. It suddenly shocked her, making her yelp in pain. She shivered, realizing that since her body was more human than gem, she wouldn't be able to escape this field like she had on the ship.

She turned to look at a makeshift bed of some sort. She frowned in confusion when she realized the rest of the room was actually quite large.

In fact, the whole place didn't actually seem like a prison if you ignored the fact that you couldn't leave. There was a chest full of all sorts of ribbons and bows and tiny shoes that actually fit her perfectly.

She suddenly then finally noticed with surprise a pink vanity just waiting for her. There was a device on the table and she gently picked it up.

The thing suddenly formed a screen and revealed Pink Diamond's smiling face. Connie nearly screamed in fear.

Hello Connie, I hope you find your new home most comfortable! I had the pebbles make it just for you a few days after the Pearl told me about you. You are an interesting human, this is why I've taken you! We may or may not have already met each other, seeing as this is pre-recorded!

Connie gave a sigh in relief. So Pink Diamond may not already know she was here! That was good.

I'm sure you've already seen, but I made that adorable little outfit for you and would so appreciate it if you always wore it! And I suggest you do, or else the Amethysts will eventually force it back on you the moment you try to take it off, and they're not the gentlest! So just wear it.

I'm sure I'll be over to play soon, little one! An evil and mean gem, Yellow Diamond will be coming to take you back once I let her know I have one of her little friends, but don't worry! You're staying right here, forever…

Connie was relieved that the message was over, but sighed realizing her only way out was by letting Pink Diamond come and fetch her. Her only logical way.

She quickly rummaged through all the drawers and chests in the room, hoping to find her normal clothes so she wouldn't just look like a plaything for Pink Diamond, and even worse, a damsel in distress.

To her dismay, her clothes were nowhere in sight.

She then turned back to the forcefield and gave a determined grunt. She had to find some way to disable it!

The girl ran up to the thing and then noticed a screen beside it. She touched it, wondering if it was coded. Suddenly, it glowed a Diamond symbol and the field immediately disappeared. She gasped and then realized that it had to be because of her gem being Yellow Diamond.

She ran out as quickly as she could, not wanting to waste a moment longer.

She ran down the hallways, scanning rapidly for her father or the Temps. They weren't there, but many cells for human prisoners were. None had any occupants though, like they had been abandoned the moment they were made.

Connie suddenly heard footsteps and quickly hid herself by leaning against the opposite wall. She then heard yelling.

"Please, I'm sure we can come to a sort of agreement if you let me go!"

"Dad!" Connie whispered in shock.

She peeked out to see her father struggling in the grip of an Amethyst guard. The girl's hands started to spark up and glow and she ran out.

"Release my father, big Amethyst!"

"What the-?!" The Amethyst couldn't finish the sentence as the destabilization hit her. She gave a cry in pain and then poofed. A golden bubble appeared around it and it floated to the ceiling.

"Dad!" Connie yelled, tears streaming down her face. She helped her father up and hugged him hard.

"Oh, Connie!" Doug whispered, tears coming to his own eyes. "Baby, I was so worried I'd never see you again!"

"It's okay now, we're together again, finally." Connie sighed in content. "Now all we need to do is-"

"H-Huh?!"

The two gasped and turned to see they were no longer alone. A tall gem with two pairs of arms and eyes stared at them in shock. She looked rather misformed, one set of arms was buff while the other was skinny, and her hair was an absolute mess, poofy pink and brown curls.

"You're a fusion!" Connie gasped in suprise.

"You aren't supposed to be out here, what are you doing?!" The fusion cried in panic, running up to them. One ruby arm grabbed Doug and the opposite Pearl arm grabbed Connie by their arms."If they see you out, and they see me talking to you…! I need to get you back in your cells!"

"No!" Connie growled, pulling away. "We're going home!"

"Please, don't make this difficult!" The fusion whined. "If you just stay quiet-!"

"You're not supposed to be here either." Connie suddenly realized, seeing the sweat on the gem's face. "Fusions aren't supposed to exist outside of battle, if anything, a Pearl would know that."

The fusion paused and then winced as she infused back into the Ruby and Pearl.

"It's true…" The Pink Pearl whimpered, gently releasing her love's hands.

The Ruby looked at Connie with a death glare and then hurriedly went to console her partner.

Connie and Doug watched in surprise as the Pearl started to weep and the Ruby grabbed her hands, pulling her down to her level. The two hugged.

"If you tell anyone we're here, I'll have poof you, is that clear?" Connie asked sternly. She didn't realize how aggressive the mission had made her.

"Connie, honey, look at them." Doug sighed.

Connie glanced at the two who were merely holding each other, shaking.

"You two… love each other." Connie whispered in surprise.

"We know, it's disgraceful!" The Pearl wailed quietly. She wiped away her tears and looked at Connie. "Even humans know it's wrong!"

"No, no!" Connie gasped with a slight smile. "It's wonderful! I always thought Homeworld forced fusions, and the only one that really worked was the one who started it!"

"How do you know about Garnet?" The ruby hissed, suddenly suspicious. "Wait, how did you even know it was against the law to fuse for love?"

Connie glanced down and sighed. She knew if either made a move, she could easily destabilize them. "... I'm… a fusion too, an organic one."

The two gems looked shocked.

"A fusion?" The pearl whispered. "You mean… you're part gem?! But that's- That's utterly impossible!"

"I know it seems like it," Connie grunted with a nod. "But it's true! … Please, if Pink Diamond discovers what I am-"

"She'll shatter you." The fusion finished with a grunt after forming again. Connie looked over and saw a look of sorrow on the gem's face. "She'll shatter you for staying made because of love too."

"Will you help us?" Connie pleaded.

The fusion nodded. "I will, I want one of us to get out of here safe, and I've known for years that I never would be. … I'm Rhodonite. What do you two call yourselves?"

"I'm Doug, and this is Connie." The father said with a small smile, walking up. "My daughter and I, we're eternally grateful."

"Don't thank me yet." Rhodonite sighed in worry.

"My plan is simple," Rhodonite whispered, eyeing two Amethyst guards as they walked by. Rhoditie then unfused, much to the disappointment of the ruby, but the Pearl held her hand, reassuring her they'd be fused again soon.

Doug and Connie were up against the wall beside them.

"If I can sneak into my Morginite's working quarters, we should be able to access the facility system screen. Since I am her Pearl, I have administrator properties. I can easily access all cameras and turn them off. … I have no idea how to get rid of the guards though…" The Pearl sighed.

"We'll cross that bridge when we get to it, right now, we need to get you to that screen." Doug hissed softly.

The gem looked back, confused. "... What bridge are we crossing? Are you talking about your ship? If so, you're way ahead of yourself."

"It's an expression." Connie giggled.

The rose pink pearl sighed in worry. "I hope this works…"

"It will!" The ruby insisted, smiling. She pulled the Pearl down to her level and kissed her cheek. "We've got the smartest gem in the galaxy on our side, after all."

"Oh Ruby…!" The Pearl blushed with a giggle, placing her forehead on her lover's. "You know just what to say."

"I'm sorry," Doug laughed nervously. "But, we really do need to get going."

"Ah, yes!" The rose pearl gasped. She out at the hallway and took a breath. "Doug, Connie, stay here and hidden, Ruby and I will be back shortly."

"Got it." Connie replied.

Far away from them, Peridot paced worriedly back and forth. What if Connie hadn't made it to Doug yet? What if Lapis or Jasper had been found out? She looked over her shoulder to see Connie's sword and scabbard leaned against the wall. The girl hadn't had a plan before she left Earth, she had just grabbed her sword and ran. The gem tighted her fist in anger. She would not let these Homeworld gems scare her! She knew it was risky and that Pink Diamond could shatter them all if Peridot revealed her true mistress, but she was way more afraid of losing her family, the people who loved her and that she couldn't live without.

The gem marched out of the ship after heaving Connie's scabbard on her back, which barely stayed on due to her height. She was surprised to see no guards were at the door.

Peridot quietly inched her way into the museum, through the section of plants and animals, and finally into the lab.

She knew that if Pink Diamond had seen Connie, this would be the first place the girl would go.

She then noticed a screen at the front of the room and was surprised to see an x-ray of Connie was on it. She gasped in horror, realizing that the scan had a blank spot over where Connie's heart was supposed to be. Peridot wasn't shocked that the girl didn't have a heart, that was to be expected since the Diamond was embedded deep in the girl's chest and served to keep the girl alive, functioning as every part it had to replace. What she was scared about was the fact that if Pink Diamond saw this gap, she would know Connie was part gem since gems didn't appear on the scans.

The gem frantically thrust her hands into the controls, gasping at the slight tingle as code covered her eyes. Her mind filled with information, but one stuck out, "Not Yet Complete for Acceptance."

The gem quickly deleted the file and sighed in relief. It hadn't been sent, and it never would be.

Suddenly, a loud voice came onto an unknown speaker and the pure white room went red.: "Attencion! Unauthorized gem personal! Reporting to the all stationed guards!"

"No!" Peridot gasped in horror.

"I wonder what's taking them so long?" Doug whispered to Connie. The girl glanced out again in the hallway, seeing no sign of either that made up Rhodonite.

"I don't know… I hope Morganite didn't-"

Doug suddenly pulled her back just in time for a small group of pink and purple quartz guards to stomp past them.

They held their breath in panic, leaned up against the wall.

"We'll have to get back to our special guest once we check out this disturbance in the lab." A leader who marched in front called.

Connie's breath hitched. The lab? Disturbance? It had to be one of the Temps!

"Dad, we gotta go help who's in the Lab! It has to be one of the Temps trying to find us!" The girl cried, pulling him out to follow the guards.

The father and daughter ran in just in time to see Peridot was struggling against the army of soldiers, having easily been overpowered when it had been eight against one. The girl caught her sword out of the corner of her eye, it had been tossed aside.

"Let her go!" Connie yelled with a snarl, leaping up to slash down on the one holding her friend hostage.

"Connie!" Doug cried after her.

The Amethyst guard then smirked and leapt out of the way. Connie gasped in shock and slammed right into the wall. She gave a growl in pain and anger as gruff laughes filled her ears.

Suddenly though, a slow clap interrupted the laughes.

Connie felt a shadow fall on her. She recognized the shadow as the same shape of someone who had haunted her nightmares for years. She turned around in horror.

The leader of the group smiled down at her in a fake sweetness, her curly locks of pink hair cascading down her back as she stood in her Homeworld uniform. Her rosy pink skin seemed to glow as she loomed over the shaking child.

"R-Rose… Quartz…"
