Chapter 5: A Draconic Dance

Andy walked out of the mall, glad to see he got out just before the cops started to surround the place. He was keeping the amulet hidden in his shirt. He didn't want to worry Phantom or Takuya, but he knew he was a ticking time bomb, he needed to do some research on this amulet when he got home so he could get it off him and throw it into the Ghost Zone and hope he would never see it again. According to Phantom, the amulet could transform him if he was too stressed out, so it wasn't just activated by anger like he thought it was… or rather, hoped it was.

"Danny!?"

Andy looked up, hearing Tucker and Sam's voices sounding shocked and relieved.

"You're okay, dude!" Tucker said in relief.

"You made us so worried! When we saw that dragon going on a rampage and Andy said it was y-" Sam began to say when Danny, who was there as well, shushed her.

"Sorry I was late, guys. Mr. Lancer wanted to talk to me as well as my dad, so… it took longer than I thought it would," Danny explained. "But everything's good now."

And I'm glad I don't have that stupid amulet on me anymore too… Danny added mentally. "But are you guys okay?"

"We and everyone else got out before anything bad happened," Sam confirmed. "Though I didn't see Andy or Takuya with us."

"Hey guys!" Andy and Takuya both spoke up.

Andy was surprised when he heard Takuya's voice, and turned to see Takuya had just arrived beside him, no longer Agunimon.

"Sorry, but trying to find a place to hide while that dragon was on a rampage was not easy." Takuya said, trying to cover for his absence when he had been fighting while as Agunimon.

"Yeah, we were trying to find a way out without getting frosted or stomped on," Andy added.

"Okay… but uh… what caused that dragon to… be here?" Sam asked, frowning as she looked at Danny, mostly directing the question at him.

"Uh…" Danny began nervously.

Sam looked at Andy. "And how did you know that dragon was Phantom?"

Andy sighed. "It's a bit of a long story."

Andy proceeded to tell Tucker, Sam, and Takuya about the ghost maiden and the amulet she had that turned her into a dragon, and how she left it behind and it latched itself onto Phantom. Andy said Phantom told him he got stressed out and that turned him into a dragon, but then the mysterious warrior who called himself 'Agunimon' got the amulet off of Phantom, changing him back.

Takuya whistled, mostly at the part about the ghostly maiden. "So that's where that amulet came from." He noted.

"And this mysterious warrior, Agunimon, came and helped out? Wow. I want to see this guy in action next time." Tucker grinned. "He sounds like he's some kind of superhero."

Takuya felt an odd feeling fill him at that, both in a good way and in an uncomfortable way. Danny and Andy both grinned at Takuya.

"So… this amulet that turns people into dragons, where is it now?" Sam asked.

"The… ghost maiden came by and took it back," Andy lied.

"So… we don't have to worry about it anymore, right?" Sam asked hopefully.

"I hope that's the case," Danny said. "I really don't want… uh… the possibility of a dragon attacking people in the middle of town."

Andy looked a little troubled. I'm not sure if I should go to the dance until I get this amulet off of me…

"Oh, Danny, before I forget, I wanted to ask would you like to go to the dance-" Andy began before he was cut off.

"W-whoa, bro! I know we've been a bit apart since the accident, but don't you think that's a little too intimate even for brothers?" Danny asked nervously.

Andy stared at Danny. "What? Eew! No! No! No! Not like that! I mean, would you like to go to the dance with Paulina!"

Danny stared in response. "W-wh-what?!" He exclaimed, both surprised and shocked.

"Next time let me finish before you make assumptions," Andy groaned, his face red. "A-anyways, I kinda notice that you've been eyeing Paulina a lot… and while I do like her, I'm not sure if I want to have her as a date. So… would you like to pull the switch-a-roo and be Paulina's date in my stead?"

Danny felt so excited. "Are you serious?! You're giving up the chance to go on a date with Paulina to me?!"

Tucker, Sam, and Takuya were staring at Andy in shock as well with wide eyes.

"Yeah, of course, you've always liked her more than I did," Andy chuckled. "But you'll have to act like a gentleman to her if you want her to like you, or at least not dump you right away."

Danny blinked before he tried to put on his best suave smile. "If it's a gentleman she wants, it's a gentleman she will get."

Sam groaned. "Oh brother, this is a train wreck waiting to happen."

"But I still don't have a date to the dance!" Tucker grumbled.

As if on cue, a girl in their class began to walk past them. She was an African American like Tucker, she had wavy black hair, and teal eyes. She wore an orange-yellow scarf on her head. She also wore a yellow top, with an orange-yellow miniskirt. She wore yellow and orange bracelets on her wrists. She had yellow earrings on her ears, and she also wore white shoes.

"You guys are still hanging around the mall?" The girl asked.

"Um… yeah?" Takuya said, having not met this girl before.

Tucker grinned at her though. "Valerie, right?" He asked.

"Yeah…? And you're… Sucker, right?" The girl, Valerie, asked.

"Tucker." Tucker said with a grin. "Or Tuck, or Tuckerino."

"Yeah, anything that rhymes with 'no'? Because that is my answer." Valerie said.

"Aww, come on, you don't have a date either, and the dance is in 4 hours," Tucker whined.

"I still have standards," Valerie grumbled.

"Then maybe you'd like to try going with me?" Andy asked, this time dropping the gentleman act and just being himself. "I may not be high on the popularity scale yet, but I'm adaptable, I'm a twin, and I like to think I can be genuinely charming. I'm also a pretty decent dancer."

Valerie blinked. "Wait… weren't you going out with Paulina?"

"Are you sure that was me?" Andy asked before looking at Danny.

Danny blinked before realizing what Andy was doing, he was testing to see if they could pull off the switch-a-roo. "That would be me, milady, I'm the one Paulina's going out with."

Valerie blinked, but just decided to brush it off. "Whatever. It's hard to tell which Fenton twin I am talking to sometimes, even with the different clothes."

"So what do you say?" Andy asked. "Would you like for me to escort you to the dance this evening?"

Valerie smiled at Andy. "Well, I don't see why not, but I still expect to be treated nicely. Just not up to Paulina's standards."

Andy chuckled. "Of course, I just want a nice dance."

"I'll see you at 7 then," Valerie said before walking away.

"You see that? Just be nice to them, be confident but not cocky, and try to appease to what they may like, and you're likely to have them say 'yes'," Andy lectured Tucker. "It's a good thing Valerie didn't ask my name. I can slip through as Danny to her pretty easily."

Tucker whistled. "No wonder Paulina was so eager to accept your invitation to the dance. I'll have to keep that in mind."

"Is this really a good idea? You're kinda lying to your dates about who you are," Sam pointed out.

Andy sighed. "You're right about that… Do you think we should come clean and ask if Paulina would rather go out with Danny?"

"That would be advisable." Sam admitted. "But… given how Paulina acts, it's also kinda safe to say it would be a bad idea too."

Takuya frowned. "I don't know, really. But Sam kinda does have a point…"

"I'd say take what you have," Tucker said. "Both of you have hot girls as your dates, popular girls at that!"

"They shouldn't be taking advice from Mr. 'Lady's Man'," Sam grumbled. "They're girls, not objects!"

Andy snickered as he thought of a funny scenario. Imagine if I told Paulina she's about to go on a date with a dragon. That'll probably get her to change her mind. Well, either that or she'll be even more into me.

"Okay, sorry, jeez," Tucker grumbled. "I guess this means you and I will go to the dance as friends then?"

"Yeah," Sam said. "That's probably nice actually." I was hoping for an actual date… like maybe with Danny…

Sam blushed a bit at the thought of going to the dance with Danny as a date.

"I guess I'm going too, but dateless." Takuya said, not really showing he was a bit disappointed in not having a date; even if he wasn't that interested in having a date to the dance, it would've still been nice to have a date.

"You don't seem bothered by that," Tucker remarked. "I need to teach you the ways of American boys, dude."

"Oh, no you're not!" Sam snapped at Tucker. "We don't need you teaching Takuya about how to win a girl's heart, Mr. 'Ladies Man'."

Tucker backed away from Sam. "Okay!" He squeaked out.

"Heh, well, I guess we'll meet up with you guys at the dance," Andy chuckled. "Danny and I will talk about what to do in regards to our dates."

"Okay, hopefully you guys will figure it out," Sam said.

Danny, Andy, and Takuya were walking back to Fenton Works.

"We should probably tell them," Danny said. "I want Paulina to know it's me going out with her."

"We can try, she might be angry that I decided to have my brother go out with her though," Andy remarked.

"I'd say you do what you two have to do. I'm staying well away from that argument if it happens." Takuya pointed out.

"Thanks, Takuya, you're so helpful in our little situation, you deserve a reward for 'most helpful cousin in the world'," Andy sarcastically remarked.

"Hey, no need to go all sarcastic on me!" Takuya exclaimed. "Geez… what crawled up your pants and died?"

"I think you know what," Andy huffed. "I guess I went a little overboard when I tried to teach Tucker how to get a girl to go on a date with you…"

Takuya sighed. "I get it… But just… try to enjoy the dance, okay? It's supposed to be a time of fun."

"So are we going with coming clean then? Or are we pulling the switch-a-roo?" Danny asked.

Andy gave it some thought. He didn't know if coming clean was the best option, especially since he had the amulet around his neck. But he thought Paulina was never going to say yes to him in a million years, so perhaps he had misjudged her. Maybe she could be more understanding than he thought. And he wouldn't want to give Valerie and Paulina a reason to think he was a lying person. Andy didn't want to be at the bottom of the school's food chain and be labeled as a liar. School was toture enough without other kids always gunning for your head.

"I think it might be best to come clean," Andy answered. "I'll call Paulina and tell her that I decided to go on a date with someone else, but my twin brother, who's just as big a gentleman as me, would be more than happy to take her. If she doesn't want to take it, then that's her loss."

Danny smiled. "Yeah, that may be a good idea. I think we would be better off telling the truth." He agreed.

Takuya smiled as well. "Good to hear you're being honest. The last thing we need is a cat fight between two popular girls over who has who as their dates."

"I wonder if this would increase our street cred and bump us up on the popularity scale?" Danny grinned. "After all, we're going out with two popular girls."

"Maybe," Takuya remarked, he had never been super popular in school, but he was fine enough with his soccer playing, he didn't know what would happen if a student were at the top or bottom of the school food chain, but apparently everyone, including his cousins, were being careful about not being knocked down to the bottom.

After the boys made it home, Andy called Paulina to tell her about the change of plans. Jack, meanwhile, was complaining as Maddie was helping him put on a tie around his neck in the kitchen, even though he was still wearing his orange jumpsuit.

"I don't know why I have to wear this stupid thing…" Jack grumbled.

"It's the boys' first dance, Jack." Maddie said as she adjusted the tie, which was orange and blue striped. "If we're going to chaperone this dance, we don't want to embarrass them."

"How would we embarrass them? We're cool, aren't we?" Jack asked. "After all, we hunt ghosts, what's cooler than that?"

"Seriously, you better not mention ghosts while you're at our school," Jazz grumbled. "Do you want your kids to be labeled as freaks? Just don't say anything about ghosts, or your sick obsession with ghosts, and we should be good."

Jack frowned, both because of Jazz's comment and because he couldn't even remember being asked to chaperone the dance. "Speaking of, I don't even remember volunteering to chaperone the dance." He noted. "It's all like it's a vague blur."

"Oh, don't worry about it," Danny nervously said as he began to drink a glass of milk, hoping to calm his nerves, he may not have to worry about going dragon anymore, but he still didn't want to be embarrassed or stressed out just before the dance.

Jazz turned to Danny and grinned at him. "So, Danny, I'm onto to your little secret~"

Danny spat out his milk in shock. "W-what secret?!" He said, trying to act calm, even though he wasn't.

Jazz only grinned more when she saw Danny's reaction, now she knew he had something to hide. "The clumsiness, the nervousness, the fidgeting, trying to hide something. You totally have a girlfriend, don't you?"

Danny almost blurted out he was not a ghost, but stopped himself. "She's… just going to the dance with me! We're not girlfriend-boyfriend!" Whew, that was close… I almost spilled the beans there with my main secret…

"When did this happen?" Maddie asked, surprised. "You have a girlfriend!? Who is she? What's she like? When did you two start dating?"

"Mom, didn't you hear me? She's not my girlfriend! We're just going to the dance, nothing more!" Danny groaned. And Andy hasn't gotten back to me yet on if she would go to the dance with me.

"That's great, son, maybe if you two hit it off at the dance, I can meet with her and talk to her about ghosts. I'm sure she'll like that!" Jack grinned boisterously.

"Calm down, Jack, we don't know if Danny's girlfriend- oh, sorry, I meant date is interested in ghosts," Maddie said gently.

"Yeah, we'll see how the dance goes." Danny said, trying not to laugh at his dad's typical ghost-obsessed behavior. As much as I love you, Dad, maybe tone down the ghost hunting talk a bit…

"Hey, Danny!" Andy spoke up, rushing into the kitchen, looking excited. "Good news, she said yes!"

Andy stopped when he saw the surprised eyes of Jazz, Jack, and Maddie looking at him. Pretty much immediately, the situation was misread.

"Oh gosh! Both of our boys have girlfriends, Jack!" Maddie squealed. "Get the camera! We need to commemorate this event!"

"On it, baby!" Jack smiled as he started rushing to the lab.

"No! That's not- Dad!" Andy yelled, his face turning red.

"My baby brothers are growing up so fast~" Jazz teased.

"Smooth timing there, bro," Danny said. "And wording."

"Shut it…" Andy grumbled.

Takuya, hearing the commotion, poked his head in. "What's got everyone so excited?"

"Danny and Andy have girlfriends!" Maddie shouted happily.

Takuya blinked, but smiled, deciding a bit of payback for those pranks all those years ago was in order. "Oh, right… Yeah, they told me about it. They seemed pretty excited if you ask me."

"You two need to tell us all about these girls!" Mom quickly said.

"Mom, we would be glad to, but we need to get ready or we'll be late," Andy quickly said before Jack could come back up with a Fenton Camera.

Danny smiled nervously. "Yeah. We don't want to make our dates angry with us."

Takuya smirked at seeing Andy and Danny looking so flustered. A bit of payback never hurts~

The twins quickly made a tactical retreat from the kitchen and headed upstairs.

"So now we have to worry about our parents, mainly our dad, from embarrassing us in front of our dates…" Danny sighed. "I can totally handle that."

"We could always pretend to not know him…" Andy remarked.

"That'll backfire the second he calls out to us," Danny pointed out. "So you said Paulina said yes?"

"Oh yeah, she said as long as you look, and acted, as cool as I did, she'll accept it," Andy answered.

Danny's eyes lit up. "That's great, bro! I can't believe she agreed to it! This may not backfire on us after all!"

"Perks of being a twin, if a girl likes how you look, she might like your twin just as much," Andy chuckled before realizing the implication. "... Wait… did Paulina call us 'good looking'?"

Danny blinked before he felt lighter than air. "No way! That's awesome!"

Andy couldn't help but smile at how happy Danny looked, then he blinked when he noticed Danny was suddenly… taller…? Andy blinked, looking down at Danny's feet, wondering if he was standing on something. He furrowed his eyebrows when he could've sworn he saw Danny's feet were… floating…?

Danny took notice of Andy looking down at his feet with a perplexed expression on his face. Danny's eyes went wide and he quickly landed on his feet and tried to distract Andy.

"Uh… sorry about that, bro… I was just… super happy." Danny said, trying to play it like he had jumped up into the air. "I just had to jump a little."

Andy raised an eyebrow as he looked at Danny. Jumping? That didn't look like jumping… he was suspended in the air… or maybe I'm just seeing things? Is Phantom here, playing a trick?

Deciding not to think about it too much, since he wanted to enjoy his evening, then worry about the amulet around his neck afterwards, he decided to let it go for now. "Right… Well, come on, let's get changed."

Danny let out a silent breath of relief before following his brother to their room.

Andy was on his computer after changing. He was wearing a black tuxedo with a red tie around his neck. It was a good thing to keep the amulet hidden, he also made sure to change in his closet so Danny wouldn't see the amulet. Though he worried having both the tie and the amulet around his neck would choke him.

Danny was still changing as Andy was looking up the dragon amulet.

"So Tucker and Sam are going together as friends?" Danny asked.

"Yeah, Tucker couldn't get a date, and Sam didn't have anyone else ask her to go," Andy answered, still looking at the monitor.

"Well, I hope Sam and Tucker have a good time, just like we will." Danny said as he slipped on his jacket. "Say, what are you looking up anyway, bro?"

Danny saw a picture of the familiar blue and green dragon he fought with a few days ago, the one that had the dragon amulet.

"Uh… I'm just curious about ghost dragons…" Andy answered, not knowing Danny was aware of the ghost dragon amulet existing. "I wanted to do more research on the ghost dragon you fished up that day, just in case we might run into her again."

Danny grumbled. "I still can't believe I caught a ghost dragon with a fishing rod…" He muttered. "That's one fish story Dad will never believe…"

"He'd be proud of it though," Andy chuckled. "And jealous, I mean he couldn't even catch a single ghost when he had been fishing all day."

"Where did Dad get the idea for a ghost fishing rod anyway?" Danny muttered. "It's like the odder an idea, the more likely it is to work."

"He probably wanted to catch ghosts without going into the Ghost Zone himself, since the Ghost Zone is too dangerous for a human to explore," Andy explained. "I mean he could've sent a drone to check it out, but I guess he wanted to catch a real ghost and study that."

Andy saw information on the amulet, how it was a ghostly legend back in medieval times. There were two amulets that were enchanted to transform any wearer into a dragon form under distress or anger. The amulets were made to protect two children of royalty, who were disciplined enough to control their emotions so they could use their dragon forms effectively without losing control. The amulets were designed to latch onto children, or beings that had the closest thing to the last wearer's aura. Andy furrowed his eyebrows in confusion at that last statement. With Phantom, he understood. Phantom was the only ghost kid around for the amulet to latch onto. But he didn't understand why it went to him after Agunimon got it off of Phantom. There was nothing similar to him and Phantom for the amulet to go to him.

Andy was trying to figure out how to remove the amulet, but the article stated the siblings never removed their amulets until the day they died, so it was unknown how to remove it. Are you serious right now?

Danny blinked as he finished tying his blue tie into place. "Is there anything real interesting you found, bro?"

"I found out there are two amulets that turn people into dragons. The Amulets of Aragon they're called," Andy began. "Supposedly they were enchanted to protect two siblings of a royal family, and to make sure they never lost the amulets, the amulets were designed to latch onto them. If the amulets were taken off, the amulets are supposed to latch onto them again by looking for their traits. I guess that's why the amulet latched onto Phantom after that ghost maiden left it behind."

"Really?" Danny blinked as he looked at the article himself. Huh… So is that why it latched onto me? Because I have traits of these siblings? Now that he thought about it, that probably made sense.

"If it latched onto Phantom then… I suppose he has some of these traits." Danny said, trying to act like his ghost half was a separate entity from him.

"It's probably because he was the only ghost there, the amulet was looking for something ghostly since the ghost maiden was a ghost," Andy explained. "It wasn't because it needed to be on a ghost like we originally thought. Unless Phantom happens to be the descendant of this royal family and he never told me, or he didn't know."

Danny felt awkward now. "Yeah… I don't think Phantom would be royalty. He's… a new ghost so…"

Andy looked at Danny. "How… Did you know Phantom's a new ghost?"

"Um… I've… seen him around recently, and just figured he had recently shown up." Danny said, trying to cover his tracks and smooth over his slip up. Way to go, Fenton… Way to nearly slip up…

"I… guess that's a fair conclusion," Andy replied. "Anyways… I guess the best way to remove the amulet is by force." I'll see if I can ask Takuya later to help me remove the amulet after the dance. I had hoped I could remove it without worrying them I could go dragon at any second, but apparently that's not possible. But I don't want to scare them before the dance starts, and there's no guarantee the amulet won't try to slip onto Danny next if we tried right now. I'll have to do it alone with only Takuya nearby, ready to throw it back into the Ghost Zone.

"C'mon, bro! We're going to be late if we don't get moving!" Danny said, realizing they would be late to pick up Paulina and Valerie.

"Yeah, let's go," Andy agreed, standing up.

He had to make sure he stayed calm, and prepared for the worst case scenarios like Valerie and Paulina breaking up with them. That would be fine, they were popular girls, it would be likely they would dump them some time during the dance. He could live with that. His parents embarrassing them… Well, embarrassment didn't seem to trigger the transformation, and he knew his parents were just being themselves, so while he wouldn't like being embarrassed, he could live with it. Andy took a deep breath and let it out, he could do this. He was going to go to the dance with Valerie and have a good time.

Danny and Andy headed downstairs, going to the door.

"We're going now! Takuya, are you coming?" Danny called.

Takuya came out of his room, wearing a dark blue suit and a red tie. "Yeah, I'm coming!" He called back as he ran over to the door.

Takuya then turned to his aunt and uncle. "I'll be with Danny and Andy, so I'll be at the dance soon!"

"We'll meet with you kids there! We are chaperoning after all!" Maddie called back.

Danny, Andy, and Takuya were walking through the streets. The sun was going down, and it was starting to get dark.

"I need to get Valerie," Andy stated. "She lives a little further away from where Paulina lives."

"Okay, then we should split up from here," Danny suggested. "Takuya, since you're not picking up anyone, you go ahead to the school."

Takuya blinked, but nodded. "Yeah, that's fine. I'll meet you guys there." He said. Takuya's hand went to the pocket of his pants; ever since he had gotten that device, whatever it was, he had felt the need to keep it on his person at all times.

It's just a dance… I don't see why I need to have that device on me. Takuya thought as he walked away towards the school. It's not like anything will happen, right?

When Danny walked up to the door of Paulina's house, he prepared himself to greet her. "Okay… let's see… 'hi, how are you doing on this fine evening?'"

Danny slapped himself. "No, no, that's too generic…"

The door suddenly opened, catching Danny by surprise. He saw a rather tall and muscular man glaring down at him.

Danny paled for a moment before he smiled. "Hello, sir! Is milady in tonight? We are supposed to go to the dance tonight."

"I know," The man spoke in a deep voice before he pointed a big finger at Danny. "And if you upset her, or do anything to hurt her, you and I are going to have a long talk."

"Y-yes, of course! Any father would be worried about their daughter!" Danny said, trying to play it cool.

Then a familiar voice hit Danny's ears. "Papa, you're scaring him." Paulina said as she came out wearing a pretty pink dress with long pink gloves on.

Danny stared at her for a moment before shaking his head and smiled as he bowed a bit. "You look ravishing tonight, milady." He said, trying to act as gentlemanly as he could.

"Why thank you. You must be the twin brother, Lanny was it?" Paulina asked.

"I prefer to be called 'Danny', milady." Danny said.

"Ah, right, Danny. Well, you certainly have the same charm as your brother at least. I should be mad that he decided to go with another girl, but since he sent a suitable replacement, I'm not that angry," Paulina remarked. "Now come on, we better get going or we're going to be late."

Danny smiled. "Well, I'd be happy to escort you to the dance, milady." He said with a small bow again.

"Have fun at the dance, sweetie," Paulina's dad said before he glared at Danny again and whispered to him. "I know where you live."

Danny was fairly sure the guy didn't actually know where he lived, but he didn't want to take that chance and upset him.

"And I'm glad we had this talk, sir! Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to escort your lovely princess to the dance!" Danny said as he walked away, not too quickly to appear afraid.

I wonder if Andy has any better luck with his date's dad… Danny wondered.

Andy walked up to the door of the address Valerie gave to him. Looks like this is the right place.

Andy rang the doorbell and waited. A tall, somewhat muscular man, with a black mustache, short, shaved black hair, had dark green eyes, and wore glasses, answered the door.

"Good evening, sir, are you Mr. Gray, Valerie Gray's father?" Andy asked politely, wanting to make sure he had the right house.

"Ah, you must be that Fenton boy." Mr. Gray said. "Valerie's waiting inside."

"Thank you, sir. My name is Andy Fenton," Andy introduced.

"Oh yeah, sorry about that, I forgot to ask you your name," Valerie's voice spoke up as she walked toward him.

Andy saw that Valerie wore a yellow dress that reminded him of Belle from Beauty and the Beast. "That's a nice dress you're wearing, Valerie."

Valerie smiled. "Why thank you, Andy." She said. "You don't look that bad yourself when you clean up for a dance."

"Thank you." Andy smiled, blushing a little at being complimented.

"You two kids better get going, you don't want to be late," Mr. Gray chuckled. "I hope you have fun at the dance."

"Thanks Dad, I'm sure we will!" Valerie smiled at her dad before she looked at Andy. "Would you do me the honor of escorting me to the dance?"

"Of course I will, right this way." Andy grinned. Her dad is a pretty cool dude. I hope Danny didn't have too much difficulty with Paulina's dad.

Casper High had several students going in, many with their own dates, some with just their friends, and others were arriving by themselves. Jack and Maddie were already there, having to help take care of the decorations, the food, and the children. The kids were already dancing, having a good time, mostly with their dates. Mr. Lancer was trying to make small talk by talking like a 'hip person', walking around with his book.

"Let's get down with our bad selves." Mr. Lancer said to some students. "Yo, shake that thing. Hey, G, you're my dog."

Takuya, watching from the punch table, groaned to himself. "Mr. Lancer is trying too hard to relate to the students…"

"At least he's trying, most teachers wouldn't care," Sam chuckled.

Takuya looked over at Sam, and was surprised to see her wearing a black dress that had a purple bottom. She wore a fishnet-like mesh on her upper arms and black gloves. Her top was black on the sides with a purple stripe down the center. Her hair was done up in bat-like wings, and she had a black and purple handbag with a cat image on it. Her high heels were purple as well.

"Wow… that dress looks nice on you, Sam." Takuya remarked with a grin.

"Heh, thanks. Mom tried to take me out on a mother and daughter bonding shopping, probably hoping I would pick a bright dress or something for the school dance. Too bad for her they had this beauty in the store as well." Sam grinned.

"I'm not complaining, you definitely look good in that, Sam," Tucker, who was also here, complimented.

Tucker was wearing a dark green tuxedo of his own. He looked at Takuya. "Are you going to dance too or just drink punch all night?"

"I'm… yeah I guess." Takuya sighed. "I'm… probably going to make a fool of myself though."

"Why? Do you dance like an alien?" Sam chuckled. "Honestly I'd love to see that."

"N-no!" Takuya exclaimed. "I've… never… danced before…" He admitted at last, blushing now.

"Neither did most of these guys, I mean do you see how they're dancing?" Tucker chuckled.

"Oh, look, here comes Danny and Andy now," Sam noted.

The twins arrived at the same time with their dates. Paulina looked at Andy and Valerie, looking surprised.

"You decided to go with Valerie over me?" Paulina asked.

"Yeah," Andy answered. "Is that a problem?"

"Just… surprised is all," Paulina answered. "Not that I care."

Danny gave Andy a sympathetic look. Wow, bro… now I know why you didn't want to go with Paulina…

"But, since your brother is just as gentlemanly as you are, I am not that angry." Paulina added. "He is a suitable replacement for you."

"I'm glad that you find my brother a good enough replacement. I hope the two of you will have fun for the evening," Andy said. "Now if you'll excuse me, I'd like to enjoy the evening with Valerie."

Valerie was surprised, but she followed Andy onto the dance floor.

"Wow, I'm impressed. Not many guys would have the guts to dump Paulina to go out with another," Valerie chuckled. "Paulina is set to be the most popular girl of Casper High after all."

"Paulina is definitely pretty, but she's not my type," Andy chuckled as well.

"Girls like her can be high maintenance." Valerie agreed. "But that's just the popularity chain at work. Those who are the prettiest and most popular are also the most demanding and have high standards. At least for us girls. You boys have to worry about looking strong and athletic, or good looking and charming, to be high on the popularity list."

"Heh, if only I was athletic, maybe then I wouldn't be just skin and bones," Andy laughed. "Although I like to think I'm improving on that." Training with a ghost boy certainly gives me enough exercise.

Valerie chuckled again. "Well, it would help you in the looks department. You're not bad looking right now, but imagine if you had some muscles. Girls would be all over you."

Andy blushed at the idea. He had never been a ladies man, like Tucker tried to be, but he couldn't deny that a part of him liked the idea of girls being all over him. Gah, control your teenage desires, Andy! Mom and Jazz raised me better than that!

"I probably wouldn't want big muscles like most of the jocks have, but some muscle tone couldn't hurt," Andy remarked, trying to stop blushing. "Do you like guys with muscles?" Why did I ask that? It's not like I like Valerie in that way.

Valerie blushed a bit. "I do like a guy who can do some heavy lifting, but the jocks here seem to care too much about muscles than brains in my honest opinion. Kwan is probably the most sensitive jock in the group, so he's probably the best one in my eyes, but he has a crush on Donna, so it was a no go with me and him."

"The popularity chain sounds quite unforgiving," Andy remarked.

"Yeah, once you're at the top, you have to be careful what you do. Others will be watching you, waiting for you to mess up. If you make one mistake that could be your downfall, it's nearly impossible to get back up," Valerie explained. "My dad works a high paying job at Axion Labs, his wealth is what's keeping me near the top of the popularity ranking. But other than that, I don't have much going for me."

"Don't say that. You have plenty going for you. You're smart, you're pretty, you're a great dancer, you have a loving father," Andy listed off, hoping to help Valerie feel better, but she began to blush.

Andy started blushing when he realized what he was saying. "I-I'm just saying you have more going for you than you realize."

Valerie blushed even more. "Wow… Are you sure you're not a charmer in disguise?" She giggled.

Andy sheepishly grinned. "I'm just not a jerk to the girls I talk to, that's all."

"Well, that can go a long way." Valerie remarked with a grin, her blush fading now.

Meanwhile, Danny was dancing with Paulina. Danny was a decent dancer, his mother had him and Andy take dance classes when they were younger. Paulina grinned.

"Wow, I have to admit, I'm surprised that you're able to dance. Most boys I've danced with before could barely stay on their own two feet," Paulina complimented.

Danny blushed a bit. "W-Well, my mother made my brother and I take dance lessons when we were younger, milady." He explained. Wow, who knew Mom making Andy and I take dance classes would come in handy? I won't complain about those lessons ever again!

"Well, your mother sure knows how to raise a boy right." Paulina grinned.

Danny's cell phone began to ring suddenly.

"O-oh, excuse me, milady. I… need to take this call." Danny said, feeling embarrassed for having his phone ring suddenly.

Paulina frowned and crossed her arms. "Maybe tell them that you're busy."

"I'll be sure to do that, milady," Danny replied as he answered his phone. "Hello? This is a bad time, I'm in the middle of-"

"Danny, it's me, Takuya. I just thought you wanted to know Mr. Lancer is talking to your dad, and it looks pretty serious. Are you sure that everything went alright when they talked to each other at that parent-teacher conference?" Takuya asked.

Danny paled. Crap, crapcrapcrap! I completely forgot about that! He thought in a panic. "I… Yes, yes it went fine! I'll handle it!" Danny whispered frantically.

"What do you-" Takuya began to ask before Danny hung up on him.

Danny turned to Paulina, giving a strained grin. "Um… so I have to take care of something really important, but it shouldn't take long. I'll bring you back some punch, okay? … Uh, milady."

Paulina frowned, but sighed. "As long as you don't take too long."

Having the green light to go, Danny rushed to his Mom and Dad through the crowd, using his intangibility to go through everyone. Luckily for Danny, the others were too preoccupied with dancing to notice Danny slipping through them. Danny quickly found his parents and Mr. Lancer.

"What do you mean? Did we ever talk?" Jack asked Mr. Lancer.

Mr. Lancer frowned. "Have you forgotten already, Mr. Fenton?"

Danny panicked and launched himself into the air, speeding right into Jack's body.

Now in his dad's body, Danny took over the conversation. "Oh, how silly of me. I got so preoccupied with the dance I completely forgot!"

Mr. Lancer raised an eyebrow, but didn't press the issue. "So, are you enjoying the dance?"

"Yes, yes! It's great to be here, chaperoning and stuff!" 'Jack' said with a big grin.

"Jack? Are you alright?" Maddie asked, looking at her husband, she couldn't help but notice his eyes looked… like they were glowing? "You sound… different… and your eyes look like they're… uh… glowing?"

"Everything's fine, Mo- Maddie. It must just be lighting, you know how crazy the dance can be with their flashes of lights and all," 'Jack' answered nervously. "As for sounding different… maybe I'm coming down with something."

Maddie raised an eyebrow, but she did know how crazy school dances could get with their lights at times, so she brushed off the explanation as acceptable. But something still bothered her anyway.

"So uh… how about I get us some punch?" 'Jack' suggested. "I sure am getting parched."

'Jack' quickly left before either Mr. Lancer or Maddie could get a word in. He had to push through the crowd of people since using his ghost powers in a man's body this size would be a lot more noticeable than his small body.

"Excuse me, adult coming through, I shave everyday." 'Jack' said as he pushed through the students to get away from Maddie and Mr. Lancer.

'Jack' approached Tucker, Sam, and Takuya, seeing they were pretty close. He got an idea. He couldn't keep an eye on his dad all night, and he did want to be able to enjoy his night with Paulina. Takuya, at least, didn't look like he was doing anything.

"Tucker, Sam, Takuya, I need to ask you guys a favor," 'Jack' said.

Takuya blinked, confused. "H-huh?" He didn't know why, but he was tense and he was getting those feelings of hot and cold again. But this was his Uncle Jack, wasn't it? But if it is, then why do I feel on edge? The boy wondered.

"What's wrong, Mr. Fenton?" Tucker asked.

"I'm not D- Jack Fenton," 'Jack' confessed. "It's me, Phantom. I'm currently overshadowing Jack's body because Danny asked me to. He's worried that Jack will embarrass him and Andy during the dance, especially if he talks to Mr. Lancer. But I can't stay in Jack's body all night. Even I have… an afterlife to get back to. Could you guys do Danny and Andy a solid and keep an eye on Jack?"

Sam and Tucker caught on to what 'Phantom' was saying while Takuya was frowning. But he wasn't about to let Andy and Danny's first dance be ruined either, so he nodded, as did Sam and Tucker.

"You can count on us… uh, Phantom." Tucker said with a thumbs up.

Sam grinned. "This dance is getting better and better by the minute. Sure, we can do that."

"Thanks, if Jack starts talking to Mr. Lancer, make sure to call Danny," 'Jack' instructed before he had Jack's body started walking away.

"That was… weird…" Takuya said, watching his overshadowed uncle walking away. "Phantom… here? I mean… I know he's a friendly ghost and all, but… this is a bit… extreme for him it seems."

"It's not that weird. Phantom says he has an afterlife to get back to, but I think he likes to watch over us since he's friends with Andy," Sam remarked. "He's probably just too shy to approach us himself."

"Not to mention you, Danny, and Andy are related to ghost hunters," Tucker added.

Takuya sighed. "I guess…" But why was I feeling hot and cold earlier as Phantom approached us? Is… is it a sense of some kind? Like… a…a… a ghostly sense?

"Come on, Takuya, you can't pretend this doesn't liven things up, especially since you looked like you were about to fall asleep on the table," Sam remarked. "Come on, we're on Mr. Fenton Spy Duty, now get yourself in gear!"

Takuya grumbled. "Yes, ma'am…" He muttered. But Sam does have a point. This dance has gotten a bit more interesting now.

"Cool! Can I be Too-Fine for a code-name?" Tucker asked jokingly.

"If you mean 'Too-Fine' for a brain, sure," Sam replied.

"Aww, that's cold, Sam," Tucker pouted.

Danny, seeing he got Jack far enough away from Mr. Lancer, flew out of his dad's body and hurried back to where Paulina was. However, he didn't see her.

Hey… where'd Paulina go? Danny frowned as he looked around, then a shadow towered over him.

"Hey, Fenturd #1, thought I should pay you and your brother a visit for a little payback," Dash grinned, punching his fist into his hand.

Danny paled. "Uh… h-hi Dash…" He said nervously. "W-what do you want? Can't you see I have a date to get back to? Can we do this some other time?"

"Your date is way too good for you, so I told her that you weren't coming back, and she should go out with a real man like me," Dash replied. "But she seems grossed out by my presence. Now I'm even angrier!"

Dash grabbed Danny by the shirt to lift him up. "Well, boys, what do you think we should do?"

Kwan and Calvin, two other jocks who were usually by Dash's side, approached, both grinning sadistically.

Andy, who was having a nice time with Valerie, saw Dash and his two friends ganging up on someone. He could hear Dash's favorite nickname for him and Danny. Oh-no…

Valerie noticed Andy's expression. "Andy? Is something wrong?" She asked, not sure if he was feeling okay or something.

Andy knew it was risky, but if he left it alone, he would definitely end up activating the amulet out of worry and stress alone, knowing Danny was getting hurt.

"I'm sorry, my brother needs me," Andy apologized to Valerie. "Please enjoy the rest of your evening."

With that said, Andy rushed over to Dash and the others through the crowd. However, as Andy came in close, his arm was suddenly grabbed by Calvin.

"Wah?" Andy blinked before he was pulled close to Calvin.

"There you are." Calvin grinned.

"Just the Fenturd I was looking for." Dash grinned when he saw Calvin had Andy. "You were the one who spoiled my fun."

"What?" Andy frowned. "What's wrong with you? I only pointed out how unfair we were being treated."

"Yeah, but no one got punished. And I don't like seeing the nerds get scot-free from punishment." Dash growled. "You ruined the fun! And I want to get some payback for that! Bring them to the boy's room!"

Danny and Andy began to struggle as the bullies were dragging them to the bathroom, away from the crowd of people.

Dash shouted at everyone who was in the bathroom to leave or get wailed on. The other boys quickly left, some flushing the toilets before rushing out as well. Now that they were alone, Dash nodded his head to Kwan and Calvin.

Kwan grabbed Danny from Dash and pulled him into one of the empty stalls.

"You two take care of Fenturd #1," Dash ordered Kwan and Calvin. "This Fenturd is all mine."

Dash grinned maliciously as he grabbed onto Andy's shirt, pulling him closer.

"W-wait!" Danny cried as he was pulled away from Andy. "Leave him alone!"

Dash ignored Danny, but he noticed something weird when he grabbed Andy's shirt. He felt something hard hidden in the shirt. Curious to what Andy was hiding, he pulled the tie out from Andy's shirt, and whatever the hard thing was. He was surprised to see a golden amulet around the boy's neck. Such a girly accessory.

"What's this? A necklace?" Dash sneered. "Well, I think I will take this when I am done beating you and your brother to a pulp! And when I am done with that, I will make sure your miserable high school years have you at the bottom of the social ladder! No one humiliates me like that and gets away with it!"

Necklace? Danny frowned when he heard what Dash said. Andy doesn't wear a necklace.

"Dash, stop! You don't have to do this!" Andy shouted as Dash was dragging him into an empty stall.

"I'll do what I want, runt!" Dash snapped and shoved Andy to the, thankfully, closed toilet, making sure he hurt his back.

"This isn't fair, Dash! I was only trying to defend myself and my friends! Teachers shouldn't be unfairly punishing their students!" Andy snapped, getting angry.

"Yeah, so what? It's how things work here! The popular kids get away with things and the lower-ranked students on the food chain get the punishments!" Dash sneered.

Dash punched Andy in the gut, knocking the wind out of him.

Danny was getting wailed on by both Kwan and Calvin. While his ghost half was very durable, his human half wasn't as durable, and it still hurt to be punched in the gut and face repeatedly. Danny was letting out yells of pain.

Andy, hearing Danny's cry of pain, was becoming livid. A school that punishes children and favors the popular ones has no need to exist! How can they ignore the cries of children who are getting beaten up behind locked doors like this!?

Andy's mind flashed to the day of the accident, when he heard Danny's blood curdling scream. His heart was beating harsh in his chest. He almost couldn't hear anything else. He groaned, trying to control himself, he was vaguely aware of the dangers of getting angry. But his anger was starting to rise as he heard Danny crying out, and Dash was still trying to beat him up. The amulet around Andy's neck glowed brightly. Burn… they will burn… this school will burn!

"I WILL MAKE YOU SUFFER!" Andy roared before he transformed into a large familiar blue and green dragon, becoming much bigger than the bullies trying to beat him and his brother up.

Dash, Kwan, and Calvin all stopped what they were doing, looking up at the sudden boy turned dragon in shock and fear. Danny's eyes were wide with horror when he saw what happened to Andy, and the amulet that was around his neck as the dragon roared.

Oh no… No, no, no! Danny thought in alarm. Andy… No wonder we couldn't find the amulet! It latched onto Andy's neck! This is bad… This is really, really bad! Mom and Dad are at the dance! Andy could hurt people at the dance, and our parents could hurt Andy!

Dash, Kwan, and Calvin all passed out from the sheer fear and intimidation of the angry dragon. Andy intended to crush these bullies, but Danny reacted quickly, transforming into his ghost form and grabbed the 3 bullies before his brother could crush them under his feet.

Danny got the three bullies to safety, turning them, and himself, intangible to fly through the walls of the bathroom to find a safe place to put the three bullies. He hoped Andy wouldn't follow him.

Danny heard dragon Andy roaring so loud that it shook the entire dance. The music stopped when everyone felt the rumbling.

"What was that?"

"An earthquake?"

"I thought I heard a loud roar."

"No creature could be that big to roar that loudly, right?"

Danny yelped when he heard what sounded like something breaking. Danny turned intangible and hurried back into the bathroom, and saw dragon Andy having torn up the ceiling and was flying out, probably to look for the 3 bullies.

"Oh… crap…" Danny muttered to himself, realizing there was an angry dragon Andy on the loose. "Well… there goes an enjoyable night…"

Danny didn't know if he could take on a ghost dragon of his brother alone. But he had to try, at least Takuya was nearby if he needed him. But Danny wasn't sure if Takuya could turn into Agunimon by will yet. Danny decided to save bringing in Takuya as a last resort, he didn't want to put his cousin in daner. Danny quickly flew after Andy.

To Danny's surprise, however, Andy didn't fly far from the school. Andy was looking down at the school, appearing to be plotting something.

"THIS SCHOOL WILL BURN!" Andy roared as he began to take a deep breath.

Danny realized what Andy was trying to do and paled. No, no, no, no! Darn it! Danny thought as he flew at dragon Andy, trying to stop him from burning the school. Aw man! Andy is nuts! He's lost it in his rage!

Danny quickly flew at Andy's stomach and tackled him. Andy let out a pained roar as he felt like a semi-truck just smashed into his gut, and made him fall onto the football stadium with a loud THUD, enough to cause the place to shake a bit.

"Andy, stop it!" Danny, or rather, Phantom, pleaded. "Stop this!"

Andy opened his red eyes as he glared at Danny before getting back up to his feet and growled. "THEY WILL SUFFER!"

Danny squeaked out loud when he saw Andy coming back at him. He flew around Andy's large claws coming at him.

Andy shot out blue fire at Danny's direction. Danny yelped as he went intangible, but something told him to dodge. Danny quickly flew up, barely escaping the blue flames, but the top of his ghostly tail got grazed by the flames despite being intangible. Danny squeaked out in pain, that hurt.

Owowowow! Fire hurts! Okay, I can't fight Andy alone! That much is obvious! Danny thought in dismay. Aw man… so much for keeping this on the down-low…

Andy flew at Danny, and Dany had to move quickly to dodge Andy's claws, but he soon hit smacked away by Andy's tail. Danny turned himself intangible, going through the bleachers before returning to a solid state, hitting the fence behind him. "Oof!"

But Andy wasn't done yet. He lifted up the bleachers, roaring as he glared at Danny, then threw the bleacher aside.

"Andy, please, try to be reasonable like you always are!" Danny begged, trying to calm his brother down.

Suddenly, Danny's cell phone began vibrating in his pocket.

Danny took out his cell-phone, unable to believe someone was calling him while he was in the middle of a fight. "H-hello?" He asked, dodging Andy's ghostly claws the whole time. "This had better be important!"

"Uh… well Phantom told me to call you if I see your dad talking to Mr. Lancer, which he is," Takuya answered, a little surprised at Danny's reaction. "Is this a bad time?"

Crap! Of all the things to go wrong! Danny thought.

Andy roared loudly at Danny, causing the entire area to shake again. "THE SCHOOL WILL BURN!"

"Uh… was that… a dragon's roar?" Takuya asked, his voice suddenly tense.

"Uh… y-yeah… um… how soon can you come to the football stadium? I found where the amulet went… and it wasn't with the ghost maiden," Danny quickly asked.

"Is this Phantom I am talking to?" Takuya asked. "Because if it is, I can get there as soon as possible."

"This isn't the time to be asking questions! Just hurry up and get over here!" Phantom yelled as he dodged another blue fire breath from Andy.

The flames were burning the fences, reducing them to ash. Danny wanted to overshadow his dad, but he's afraid if he left Andy alone now, the entire school will burn.

"Okay! I'm coming!" Takuya said before he hung up, likely running down to the football field as quickly as he could.

"I hate to do this to you, bro, but I need you to not destroy the school!" Danny flew at Andy.

Andy was big, so that made him an easy target. If Danny could just get to his tail and throw him into the air, he could probably get Andy far enough away from the school to not worry about the safety of everyone else.

Andy, however, saw Danny flying towards his tail, and with one swift motion, he turned around and slammed Danny into the ground with his claws. Andy growled as he gritted his sharp teeth at the ghost boy.

"Ugh… Dang it… who knew training with my brother would work against me?" Phantom grumbled to himself.

"Andy! Calm down, please! Don't you recognize me?" Phantom called out, hoping to try to reason with Andy, he had to be in this rampaging dragon somewhere.

Andy stopped growling as he squinted his eyes at the ghost boy, feeling like he knew him from somewhere. A ghost boy… wasn't he a friend? But… Why was he attacking him? Why didn't he help him and his brother when those bullies were hurting them? Why was he trying to stop him?

"THOSE BULLIES WILL SUFFER! THAT SCHOOL WILL BURN!" Andy roared. "YOU DIDN'T HELP US!"

Danny paled when he heard that. Crap… I didn't think not telling Andy my secret would come back to bite me like this! "C-calm down! It's not easy to keep a low profile when around ghost hunters!" Danny, as Phantom, exclaimed.

Andy growled before he stood up, letting Phantom go, surprising the ghost boy. Andy held out his claw before creating something with his blue flames. Danny's eyes went wide when he saw a rod that looked like the Fenton Rod made of flames in the dragon's claws.

"FIGHT ME!" Andy bellowed. "FIGHT ME OR I WILL BURN EVERYTHING!"

Andy wasn't sure why, but he had a strange instinct to fight with the ghost boy. He wanted to show him his own power.

Danny shook his head. "No, I can't fight you, Andy! I won't! You need to just calm down, please!" Aw man, where are you, Takuya?!

Andy roared before he swung the rod at Danny. Danny yelped as he dodged, knowing going intangible wouldn't work with this type of fire.

Takuya finally made it to the football stadium, and paled when he saw that dragon there, holding onto a fiery rod. He recognized that rod, it looked like the Fenton Rod, something Andy normally used.

"Oh no… That's…" Takuya realized what was going on. "Shit! No wonder Danny sounded so worried! Andy's the one with the amulet!"

Looking around, Takuya saw Phantom was dodging the blows from dragon Andy. Realizing Phantom was in trouble, Takuya knew what he needed to do. He took out that black and red device from his pocket. Please don't be finicky right now! I need your help for this!

Takuya held out his device and the blue digital form of his Human Spirit appeared visible on the screen of his device as he formed a ring of fractal coding on his left hand. He swiped the device over the coding, calling out the familiar phrase he would come to know by heart. "Execute! Spirit Evolution!" His clothes ripped away as his body became digital, and the process began. Coding surrounded him as the power of the Spirit flowed into his body. Red armor formed and latched onto his body as his hair changed to blonde and became long and wild. His height increased, as did his strength and agility. His eyes snapped open, now a brilliant blue instead of brown, and his canine teeth were sharper than a human's as well. He landed, crying out his name. "Agunimon!"

Now evolved, Agunimon was pleasantly surprised to find he could now call upon this form at will. But he had more pressing matters at the moment, so he forced it from his mind and ran to where dragon Andy and Phantom were fighting.

Agunimon knew he could stop this fight if he could remove the amulet like he did for Phantom. First, he would try to weaken the dragon with his flames, since it worked well for Phantom when he was a dragon.

Agunimon came to a stop and held up one of his hands, flaring fire from his right silver wrist brace. "Pyro Darts!" He threw the fiery darts at dragon Andy's side.

The fiery darts bounced off of Andy's scales. There wasn't even a tiny scorch mark anywhere. The only thing the Pyro Darts seemed to have done was make Andy notice he was there.

"Hey! You're here!" Phantom realized. "What was that puny fire power? Are you holding back?"

Agunimon shook his head. "No, I was not holding back! That's the only attack I know! I thought it would work, but it seems it didn't! I don't understand why. It seemed to work well against you when you were-"

Andy swung his fiery rod at Agunimon while he had been talking, which hit the poor boy and slammed him into one of the bleachers. Andy then swung the rod at Phantom, who quickly went intangible and flew at the bleachers to make sure Agunimon was alright.

"H-hey, are you okay?" Phantom asked Agunimon.

Agunimon groaned, but managed to sit up somewhat. "Y-yeah… I think so. I'm glad I'm wearing armor right now, otherwise I would be hurt worse." He admitted as he managed to get back to his feet. "But… that attack… it didn't seem to hurt me that much." He added, confused as to why.

"He's using fire… I'm guessing both of you hotheads can't really affect each other with fire that well," Phantom grumbled. "Apparently I was mostly ice based when I was a dragon, that's why your fire attacks worked on me, but not so well on Andy."

"Yeah, I noticed." Agunimon muttered. "But if that's the case, then what can we do? We can't just let Andy rampage around like this."

"What did you do when I was a dragon?" Phantom asked.

"Andy distracted you so I could get the amulet off." Agunimon replied. "But it was easier then because Andy knew how you fought."

Phantom knew Andy better than anyone, maybe he could distract his brother like Andy did with him while Aguimon tried to take off the amulet.

"I should be able to provide a distraction, because I know how Andy fights too," Phantom pointed out. "You focus on getting the amulet off like you did for me."

Andy towered over the bleachers they were in, and he began using his claws to rip it apart to get to them.

"If that's the best plan we have, we might as well do it since we're out of time for planning!" Agunimon said as he saw Andy's claws beginning to tear through the bleachers.

"Go! I'll try to keep him busy!" Phantom quickly said before he flew up to Andy's face. "Hey, Andy! You want to fight me? Well, here I am!"

Andy looked up at Phantom and opened his maw to try to bite him with his teeth.

Phantom gulped when he saw the maw of sharp and pointies coming at him. He turned intangible and flew away; just in case Andy tried to bite him, being intangible would spare him from injury.

Andy's eyes studied Phantom when he went intangible, then he felt a tug on his neck. He looked down, seeing the armored man climbing on the amulet to reach the clasp.

Agunimon had taken the chance to jump up and climb onto dragon Andy to try and get the amulet off while Andy was distracted with Phantom. But when he heard Andy stop trying to go after Phantom, Agunimon glanced up to see Andy looking right at him. Uh oh…

"H-hey! Eyes over here, b- Andy!" Phantom called out frantically, trying to get the dragon's attention.

Phantom hoped he could get Andy to move his eyes away from Agunimon, but it wasn't working. Andy reached up and grabbed onto Agunimon with his claws. Agunimon yelped as Andy managed to pry him off of his amulet before throwing him at Phantom.

Phantom managed to catch Agunimon, but the force of the impact from the guy managed to push them to the ground. "Ow…" Phantom groaned. Geez… how much does Agunimon weigh?! That impact really hurt!

"Sorry…" Agunimon muttered as he rolled off of Phantom.

"Ugh… I guess Andy isn't as easily distracted…" Phantom groaned.

Andy shoved his fiery rod into some bleachers and pried it open. Phantom and Agunimon could hear what sounded like people screaming and began running out from under the bleachers. Most of the students were jocks and popular girls.

"We need a better plan." Agunimon growled at Phantom. "Andy seems more focused than you were when you were a dragon."

"Okay… I can turn stuff intangible, so maybe I just have to grab onto the amulet, turn it intangible and get it off his neck," Phantom suggested. "So you'll have to try to distract him."

"Great…" Agunimon sighed. "Well, at least Andy doesn't know my fighting yet, so I may have an advantage."

Andy suddenly spread out his wings and began to fly up into the sky.

"We better do this fast, or he'll burn down the school!" Phantom warned before he grabbed onto Agunimon's arms and flew up towards dragon Andy.

Agunimon yelped at suddenly being carried into the sky.

"H-hey! What are you doing?!" Agunimon exclaimed as he began to squirm a bit in Phantom's hold.

"What do you think!?" Phantom shouted back. "Andy's flying, unless you fly or jump really, really high, I need to carry you! Now stop squirming before I drop you!"

Agunimon paled at that and stopped moving. Crap… I didn't think of that! And we're so high up here…

"HEY! ANDY!" Phantom shouted as Andy was flying higher into the sky.

Andy growled as he looked back at Phantom and Agunimon. Andy turned around and threw the fiery rod in their direction.

Seeing the fiery rod coming at them, Agunimon reacted, kicking the rod away as soon as it came at them; given how he seemed to be not that affected by Andy's fire, it made sense to him to do that so Phantom didn't get hit by the fiery rod.

"Nice kick," Phantom complimented.

Agunimon looked up at Phantom with a sheepish grin before he looked back at dragon Andy. "Don't thank me yet. We still have to stop Andy."

Phantom flew faster towards Andy, who seemed to be going higher for some reason. Phantom wasn't sure what Andy was trying to do. They were so high now that they could barely see the school. Andy began to loop around in the sky and started to come back down. This time, however, Andy tucked in his wings and began to dive at an alarming rate. Flames were burning in the dragon's maw.

"Shit!" Agunimon swore when he saw the flames in dragon Andy's mouth. Crap! If those hit Phantom… His mind raced as he tried to come up with a plan. What do I do?! Aw man… This is not favorable to me or Phantom!

Agunimon knew he couldn't just do nothing. "Throw me, Phantom, hurry!"

Phantom frowned, but seeing how they didn't have a lot of time, Phantom threw Agunimon into the air. The dragon shot out a blue fireball from its maw rather than a stream of fire. The fireball hit Agunimon, which caused a shockwave in the air, blowing Phantom back a few feet.

"Agunimon!" Phantom called in concern, worried that something had happened or worse.

Agunimon, despite being fireproof, took quite a bit of damage from that exploding fireball. His armor was singed, but he was relatively okay all things considered. Phantom, seeing Agunimon falling, quickly flew up and grabbed him. Phantom knew he had to think of something fast, Andy seemed to be ignoring them now and was diving towards the school, probably intending to use that fireball trick on the school.

"Ugh… That was not one of my better ideas…" Agunimon muttered as he shook his head. He then looked at Phantom. "Thanks for the save."

Phantom was diving after Andy. "Save your thanks, we might not be able to stop Andy from attacking the school at this rate!"

"Don't you have anything on you that might be able to stop him?" Agunimon frowned. "What about the Fenton Thermos? Don't you have something like that like you did for the Lunch Lady?"

Phantom paled as he realized he had, in fact, not brought the Fenton Thermos with him. "I knew I was forgetting something…"

"Really?" Agunimon groaned. "Then toss me on his back! I can try to stop him!"

"O-okay!" Phantom said, willing to take anything at this point.

Phantom threw Agunimon down at Andy, hoping he would be able to get on his back.

Agunimon narrowed his eyes as he reached dragon Andy. He spread his arms and legs before landing on Andy's back. He gripped hard against Andy's scaly skin, trying to not let go. Now to get to that amulet… Agunimon thought as he began to crawl along Andy's back slowly so as to not get blown off.

Andy stopped diving as he felt something on his back. He twisted his neck over to look at Agunimon. Now annoyed at this point, Andy let out a roar before he had his tail slap Agunimon to get him off his back. Agunimon yelped at the tail whip, but clung onto one of Andy's wings. This caused Andy to lose his balance in the air, and fall onto the ground in central park, causing a large quake. Andy looked up, seeing Phantom coming their way.

Andy then gave a grin all of a sudden, and his body suddenly turned intangible, making sure to leave Agunimon out. Agunimon gasped as he fell through the dragon's now intangible body.

Agunimon landed on his feet and was moving before Andy could return to tangibility and attack him. "Now what?! Andy can turn intangible?!" Agunimon growled out as he saw Andy become tangible again.

Phantom frowned, he knew Andy was a ghost dragon right now, but he didn't think Andy would know how to use any ghost powers as a dragon. Andy looked down at his claws for a moment as if testing something. Something began to glow in his claws that looked like some sort of ecto energy. Andy looked up at Phantom and grinned. Phantom realized he was in trouble.

Instead of breathing out fire, Andy shot out ghost rays at Phantom with his claws. Phantom squeaked as he barely managed to dodge the ghost rays.

"Aw, c'mon! How come I can't shoot ecto-rays?" Phantom whined.

"Have you tried to yet!?" Agunimon called.

"N-no…" Phantom admitted sheepishly.

Hearing that, Agunimon smacked his own face with his hand in exasperation. "Then try now!"

Phantom gulped before he tried to summon his ghost powers from the cold thing inside him to his hands. He saw his hands glowing with ecto energy just like with Andy's claws earlier. Phantom's eyes were wide before he shot out the ghost rays at the dragon. The ghost rays were smaller than the ones Andy fired earlier, but they still packed a punch as when the ghost rays slammed into Andy's side, it pushed him a few feet. Andy let out a growl of pain.

A smile crossed Agunimon's face. "Nice!" He exclaimed.

Phantom looked at his glowing hands before a smile crossed his face at his accomplishment.

Of course, this distracted Phantom enough for Andy to recover and fly at him, punching him into a building. "NOT BAD! BUT DON'T STOP!"

Phantom groaned as he pushed himself off of the building. Does Andy think we're training now or something?

Agunimon ran at Andy, intent on getting that amulet off. C'mon, just ignore me… He thought as he ran around behind Andy to try and get onto his back again.

Phantom, seeing what Agunimon was trying to do, decided to try to knock Andy down to make things easier. Phantom flew at Andy at his top speed, tackling the dragon in the chest, causing the dragon to fall over onto his back. This allowed Agunimon to jump onto Andy's chest himself to grab the amulet. Phantom quickly joined him and grabbed the other side of the amulet. They pulled hard, feeling the clasp on the amulet coming loose.

Andy had the wind knocked out of him from Phantom's tackle, so it took him a minute to recover from that. He pushed himself in a sit up position, coming out of the daze. When he began to come to, he saw the two on his neck, trying to pry the amulet off. Angered and annoyed, Andy lifted up his tail with the intention of whipping both off of them.

However, Phantom and Agunimon managed to finally snap the amulet off of Andy's neck. Unfortunately, Andy didn't transform back right away, and his tail was already set in motion. It slammed into the amulet, and the amulet ended up being knocked into his mouth. Phantom and Agunimon gasped at that.

Andy's eyes went wide in shock and surprise as the amulet ended up being thrown to the back of his throat, which threatened to block his windpipe. By pure instinct, Andy's tongue pushed the object back and this caused him to swallow. In shock of what just happened, any rage Andy was feeling earlier had dissipated, and he shrunk down, reverting back to being human.

"D-did Andy just… swallow that amulet!?" Agunimon exclaimed in shock.

"Uh oh… That… could be bad…" Phantom muttered.

Andy groaned, feeling dazed from his experience as a dragon. "Ugh… what hit me…?"

"Okay… we need to explain this calmly to him or he might go dragon again," Agunimon whispered to Phantom.

"Yeah, I agree." Phantom whispered back. "But not too abruptly…"

Andy saw Agunimon and Phantom standing over him, and his eyes went wide. "You two? Did something happen? Is there a ghost around? Can I do something to help? Why-"

Andy stopped when he realized there was nobody else here, and they weren't even at the school dance anymore, they were in the middle of central park, and some of it looked kind of destroyed. Andy remembered he had the amulet on. He reached up to his neck, not feeling the amulet there.

"Oh… I… I guess I… went on a rampage…?" Andy sheepishly asked.

"Yeah… you… kinda did." Phantom admitted. "And Agunimon and I had to try to get that amulet off of you." He continued. "But… when we did… it kinda…"

"You swallowed it." Agunimon said bluntly.

"What happened to not saying it abruptly!?" Phantom hissed at his cousin.

Andy stared at them. "Excuse me… could you repeat that? I don't think I heard you right."

Agunimon sighed. "We got the amulet off, but it got smacked into your mouth while you were still a dragon and you somehow swallowed it."

"You're joking, right? Amulets can't be swallowed! It's not physically possible," Andy pointed out.

"For a human…" Phantom muttered. "For a dragon… it may not be that difficult…"

"Y-you're serious? That amulet is in my stomach right now?" Andy paled.

"H-hey, just calm down!" Agunimon said, trying to keep Andy calm. "It's not like you can become a dragon when you're not wearing it!"

"Don't tell me to calm down!" Andy shouted, his tongue turning forked and long, and his teeth getting sharp. "This is serious! How can I get this amulet out of me now!? I can't throw it up! My esophagus is too small for an entire amulet! I can't digest it either so it can't be passed through naturally! I'd need surgery to get it out! And how am I gonna explain any of that to our parents and the doctors!?"

Andy got down on the ground, curling up as a pair of dragon wings grew out from his back before wrapping around his body and he began to rock back and forth. "I'm a monster… I'm just a monster… I need to live in the Ghost Zone, or far away from humanity…"

Agunimon realized he had made things worse. "Andy! Wait! Just calm down!" He said as he ran over to the boy. "We'll find a way to get it out." He said as he knelt down beside Andy and grabbed the boy in a gentle hug. "Just… calm down okay? Please…"

"Yeah, we'll figure something out, okay?" Phantom promised, hating to see his brother in such agony.

Though it was curious to why Andy wasn't turning into a dragon again, he had dragon features, like his wings, but he wasn't going full dragon.

"Just calm down, Andy…" Agunimon said softly, trying to comfort his panicking cousin.

"How can I calm down!?" Andy cried.

"We can get that amulet out, just try to relax," Agunimon soothingly said.

"How? It's not like you can just reach in and take-" Andy stopped as realization hit him hard.

Andy looked over at Phantom, he had a ghost boy who could literally go through any solid objects, and even into people's bodies at will. "... I am such an idiot!"

Phantom blinked. "What? Are you…" Phantom trailed off as he caught on to Andy's train of thought. "Oh… that's gonna be gross…"

"Do you think I'm enjoying that thought?" Andy groaned as his wings disappeared, his teeth and tongue returning to normal as well.

"What?" Agunimon asked, not getting it.

Andy pointed at Phantom. "He's a ghost boy, he can turn intangible."

Agunimon looked confused for a moment before his brain finally registered the implications. As soon as he figured it out, a look of disgust crossed his face. "... Ew…"

"I hate my life right now…" Andy sighed.

"Well… we might as well get it over with, right? At least I'm wearing gloves…" Phantom said.

There were sirens surrounding the park, people had seen the dragon ghost earlier, and had called the cops to check it out.

"Maybe we should do this somewhere else," Agunimon said.

Phantom grumbled. "Yeah… I think I know of a good spot, but it's a ways away from here."

"Then we should get out of here and head there." Agunimon said as he stood up, holding Andy in his grasp.

Andy blinked, not expecting to suddenly be carried. Phantom took off and Agunimon ran after him.

"Fenton Works? Are you crazy!?" Andy shouted when they arrived at the 'good spot' Phantom was talking about.

"Your parents are currently at the dance, right? And so is Jazz, so it should be empty, and nobody should bother us while I… erm, perform 'surgery'," Phantom explained.

"And I will be here as well, Andy." Agunimon said, trying to reassure Andy. "I can keep an eye out for them in case they come back early. It seems my senses and physical abilities are enhanced in this form, so I will alert you guys if anything is coming back here."

"Thanks," Andy replied gratefully, feeling embarrassed it had come to this. "Sorry… for not telling you guys about the amulet… I was hoping I could get it off of me and throw it into the Ghost Portal before anything happened… I didn't want to worry you guys. It probably would've been fine had Dash not decided to take out his anger on-"

Andy's eyes went wide in worry as he just remembered someone. "Danny! Where's Danny!? Is he okay? Did I hurt him when I went dragon? And Dash and his friends, are they okay? Please tell me they're okay!"

Phantom had a cover story for Danny thankfully. "Yeah, Danny's safe. He wasn't hurt and is somewhere safe. And Dash and his cronies are fine too. I got them to safety." Phantom explained quickly.

Andy let out a sigh of relief, his heart nearly jumped out of his chest when he realized how bad things could've been if Phantom hadn't been there. Huh… I wonder if Phantom was checking out the dance because he missed going to one when he was alive?

"How am I going to explain this Danny? 'Oh your brother suddenly turned into a dragon, but it was just a prank, bro, it never actually happened!' That might work on Dash and his bullies, but not Danny…" Andy sighed.

"I wouldn't worry about it," Phantom said. "Danny was knocked unconscious when you transformed, so I doubt he saw it."

"R-really?" Andy frowned.

On one hand, Andy was glad Danny didn't see his dragon transformation, on the other, he wasn't too happy to hear his brother was beaten unconscious.

"Yeah, but he seemed no worse for the wear" Phantom replied. "But you can worry about it later. Right now, we need to get that amulet out of you."

"Okay…" Andy sighed, feeling a little nervous about this. "Um… have you ever reached into someone's body before?"

"I… never thought about it before," Phantom sheepishly admitted.

Andy didn't like the sound of that. "Okay… uh… just make sure you only reach into my stomach and grab the amulet. Try not to… accidentally touch anything else… or bring out anything else that should be inside me."

Agunimon squeezed Andy's hand gently. "I'll be here too if you need it." He said gently.

Andy nodded, feeling a little more comforted. Andy walked over to the couch in the living room before he laid down on it with his stomach facing the ceiling. "Try to take it slow…" But not too slow please…

Phantom nodded, he was feeling nervous himself, he really didn't want to accidentally hurt or mess up Andy.

Agunimon knelt down beside Andy, trying to keep him calm with his presence.

Phantom sighed nervously before he reached up and turned his left hand intangible. "Okay… here we go…" He muttered as he reached into Andy's stomach slowly, but not too slowly.

Phantom couldn't say he ever thought about how it would feel like to reach into a person's stomach. Biology was more of Andy's interest than his own, but the inside of one's stomach felt about how he expected: warm and squishy. It made Phantom even more glad that he wore gloves in this form, but he was so going to wash his hands thoroughly after this.

Andy didn't like this anymore than Phantom. He could feel Phantom's coldness in his stomach, it made him shiver. While Phantom's hand was intangible, he could feel it moving around, looking for the amulet. It wasn't a sensation Andy ever thought he would have to feel.

Phantom felt something hard and cold in his hand, and grabbed onto it. It felt metallic, so there was no way it was an organ, or a bone. Phantom made sure he had a good grasp of the object, making sure to turn it intangible as well, before he slowly began pulling his hand and the object out.

Within about half a minute, Phantom pulled out the object, revealing it was the amulet.

"Whew! I got it!" Phantom said with relief.

Andy let out a sigh of relief, happy to see it was finally over. Then he sat up. "Make sure you keep the amulet far away from your neck, we don't want it latching onto you again."

"Oh, don't worry. I plan to chuck this thing right back into the Ghost Zone." Phantom assured Andy. "In fact, I'm going to do that right now."

Phantom didn't waste any time going intangible and flying under the floor, going straight to the lab. He looked at the Ghost Zone before he pulled back his hand with the amulet. "Good riddance to you!"

Phantom threw the amulet into the portal, hoping to never see it again.

On the other side of the portal, the ghost maiden was floating there. She caught the amulet after it was tossed into the portal. "Just as Clockwork predicted."

The ghost maiden smiled before she flew away deeper into the Ghost Zone, taking the amulet with her, despite the fact it had some slimy stuff on it.

Titanic X: ZAFT: Yes, yes he does~ XD You will see what happens next~ ;3

DarkFoxKit: If they read the chapter before reading this, I'm pretty sure they saw what happened. XP

CT7567Rules: ZAFT: You will see how this turns out. :3 And as for Veemon, yeah, I can see why. As for the Digimon partners in question, you will see as the story goes along. ^^

DarkFoxKit: It wouldn't be much of a crossover if we didn't put in the Digimon partners, I will say that much. But they'll take a bit longer to be introduced than in the first story.

ZAFT: But you'll find the wait is worth it, I think. :3

DarkFoxKit: And I thank you for not bringing up other stories into the reviews. I know people can get excited for the author's other stories, but it doesn't sit well with most authors if you ask about their other story while commenting on another one.

ZAFT: And I am loving the stuff you are commenting on with these reviews. These are the kinds of reviews that we look forward to, so keep it up. :3
