"Whoa... who's she?"

Shira bit her lip anxiously at the stares she was getting as she went through the filled hallways of U.A. After years of homeschooling, she had forgotten how it felt to be the center of attention.

She tugged at her skirt, not liking how short it was. Altogether, the uniform was cute- plain and simple, like she liked it, but of course people had to find something to look at...

"I don't know how younger-me did it." The ivory haired girl muttered, walking faster to her destination.

The only problem was, she didn't really know where her destination was.

Luckily, she spotted a familiar head of spiky red hair. "Kirishima-kun!", she called out, jogging a bit to meet him.

Said boy turned around at the call, grinning brightly when he spotted her. He waved slightly. "Hey! Nice seeing you here Todoroki-chan! I knew you could do it!"

Shira stopped a few steps before him, matching his wide smile with one of her own. She was really luckly to have found a friend like him, if everyone had this same optimism, maybe school might not be so bad...

Her cheeks tinted red at his support as she waved her hands rapidly. "Thank you, Kirishima-kun, but trust me, I-"

"Eijiro." He ejected.

Shira paused. "What?"

"Call me Eijiro." He smiled again, ruffling her hair. She tried to her calm her heartbeat that was steadily gaining more and more speed.

"Ok...Eijiro." She said, biting her lip nervously. "How about we get to class?" Shira offered. "...Wherever that is."

Kirishima ruffled her hair once more before pumping a hardened fist in the air. "Yea, let's go!" He started walking before pausing, looking at her over her shoulder. "Wait, what class are you in?"

Shira hurridly dug into her pocket, grabbing her schedule. "Uh... Class 1A with Mr... Aizawa?" She said unsurely, looking up at him.

Shira wasnt sure how many smiles this boy was capable of making, nor if she could ever get sick of them.

"Same here!" He gave her a high five, before continuing their walk to class. As they babbled on about the entrance exams, Shira took the time to admire the boy.

She envied the way he carried himself, with the upmost confidence. But not in a cocky way, no, there was nothing cocky or selfish about him from what she's seen. If she didn't know him, she probably would even clutch her purse tighter if they walked past each other at night.

She looked over his appearance. Red was definitely his color. His hair, eyebrows and eyes all perfectly matched. Although, if you looked close enough, you could see the tiniest fraction of black hair growing from his roots.

She wondered how he looked with black hair.

He must've noticed her drifting from the conversation, because he snapped his fingers in front of her face. She jumped slightly, blinking at the wake to reality. "Wha...?"

"We're here." He said, gesturing in front of them. A humongous door stood in front of them. "You okay?" He asked, looking at her with concern.

How could she clutch her purse at a face like that?

"Yeah, i'm fine." She reassured. "Just a little nervous."

He grabbed her wrist gently, locking eyes with her. "Lets go, Todoroki-chan." He said determinedly, grabbing the doorknob.

"Shira.", She exhaled, giving him a firm nod.

He grinned again, opening the door to the next milestone in her their lives as heros. "Let's do this Shira!"

•••

Their next milestone was pure shit.

"Take your your feet off of that desk, NOW!"

"Huh?"

"Its the first day and you're already disrespecting this academy but scuffing school property, you Cretan-"

"You're kiddin' me right? Your old school put a stick up your ass or were you born with it?"

Shira and Kirishima sweatdropped. Besides them was Midoriya, who had the same expression.

"Hey Midoriya!" Shira said, leaning over Kirishima to get a better look at the green haired boy.

Midoriya jumped slightly, turning his attention to the heterochromatic girl. "Oh! Hello there, Todoroki- chan." He said, smiling sheepishly.

As Kirishima introduced himself to Midoriya, Shira took the chance to survey the classroom. There were two boys bickering, one being the asshole from the auditorium and the other being a spiky blonde.

She could only see the back of his head from where she stood, but judging from what he was saying, she made a mental note to not grace his bad side.

She scanned the classroom, waving at the few people she made eye contact with before freezing when her eyes met their matching pair.

Shoto's eyes widened at the sight of her, his passive expression breaking immediately. He rose from his seat, as she took a step back from surprise.

Deep down, Shira knew he would be there. From what she'd heard from Fuyumi, he had a dual quirk, from their mother and father- just as he'd wanted. She had no doubts that with his quirk, and their father's training, that he would be here, but for some reason she was still shocked at the sight of her long- lost twin. But she didnt know which she was more surprised at, his presence, or the angry red scar covering his left eye.

"Shira-" he spoke, only to be cut off.

"Go somewhere else if you want to play at being friends."

Freezing in spot, Shira slowly turned around, finally noticing the caterpillar man laying across the floor, staring up at her chillingly.

She shrieked, jumping back into Kirishima, who grabbed her by the shoulders.

"This is the hero course," The man continued, his black hair nearly covering his bloodshot eyes. He unzipped the hideous yellow sleeping bag partially, before sticking a caprisun in his mouth.

'What the...?!' The class thought in unison.

"It took you 8 seconds to get quiet. Time is limited." He said blandly, stepping out of the sleeping bag. He wore all black, aside from his grey scarf, that looked too big to be a scarf.

"A teacher...?" Midoriya said to himself. "So, he's a pro hero, too?"

Shira sweatdropped. "I've never seen a pro hero who looked that worn out before..."

"I'm your homeroom teacher, Shota Aizawa. Nice to meet you." He said, making the class erupt in gasps.

"Our teacher?!"

Shira scratched her head. 'Well this is going to be an interesting year...'

"This is sudden, but put this on and go onto the field."

•••

"A quirk assessment test?!"

They had all gathered outside on the field, dressed in the uniform passed out by Aizawa. He had announced that they would be missing orientation since its not necessary.

"Schools didn't allow for quirks to be used during physical fitness tests, well now its time to use them." He said, holding up his phone. On it, were everyones old physical fitness scores.

Except hers.

A few noticed this, including Shoto, but said nothing as Shira looked down at her feet.

"Bakugo," Her head shot up at the name, the familiarity of it ringing in the back of her ears. "You scored the highest for the entrance exam right? As well as you, Todoroki?"

Several heads turned towards Shoto, giving him looks of awe. "Wow Todoroki-san, you must be pretty strong for such an accomplishment." Momo praised. Shira felt her pride drop. They didnt even consider the fact that it was her.

"I did not take the entrance exams." Shoto stated, locking eyes with Shira. Everyone followed his eyes to the obsedian haired girl, who shrunk under the attention.

"Hah?!" Bakugo injected, "I got tied with this wimp?! As if!" He denied, taking a large steps torwards her, only for a body to block her view if the oncoming blonde.

"Back off." The icy tone Shoto used was enough to make a polar bear shiver. Shira gently pushed him aside.

"I can stand up for myself." She said, frowning at her twin before meeting her rude classmate's anger head on. "Although I did tie with your score, you're still probably undoubtedly stronger than me." She started, making him scoff.

"Damn right I am-"

"BUT," she cut off. "That doesn't mean look down on me. I might just pass you by." She smirked, heterochromatic eyes flashing with mischief.

"Look here, bit-"

"BAKUGO! Come see how far you can throw this softball using your quirk." Aizawa commanded.

The boy glanced at the teacher before looking down at Shira, smirking widely. "Watch how it's done, Ugly." He said, turning his back.

'Ugly?' she thought. 'Where have I heard...'

"DIE!" Bakugo shouted, a gigantic explosion erupting from his palms, shooting the softball into oblivion.

As everyone else awed at his pure strength, Shira stared at him in recognition. The boy that was the same eyelevel as her was now half a foot taller. That was the only difference. Everything else was the exact same.

The same cocky, over-confidence, the same insults, the same hairstyle, the same face, only a more structured now, and the same quirk, except what he just did were no meer popping sounds.

He turned around, throwing her a cocky smirk, only for it to fall into a confused frown as he noticed how she was looking at him.

"706 meters." Aizawa announced, holding up the score. Shira's eyes widened.

"Oh my god, this is gonna be so fun!" Mina squealed, jumping in excitement.

As everyone voiced their excitement, Shira noticed the dark glint in their teacher's eye.

"Fun huh?" He said, making silencing everyone. "You have 3 years to become heros, will you keep that same attitude the whole time?"

"Whoever lands in last place will get expelled, immediately."

'Oh no...'

•••

In the end, Shira was tied last with Midoriya.

Neither of them had used their quirk. Midoriya's reasoning, Shira was unsure of. Hers was, well, her quirk just wasn't suited for any of the tests. Everyone tried to hide their confusion at her results. Well, everyone except a certain blonde.

"GET A LOAD OF THIS SHIT!" He roared, "YOU TIED WITH ME BUT YOU CAN'T EVEN MAKE TOP 20?! RIGGED!" He accused, making her eyes narrow.

She'd be lying if she said that didn't hurt, but she tried not to show it.

"Woah, Baku- bro! Chill! I'm sure she has a reason to not use her quirk, so lets not throw accusations." He said calm yet firmly.

"Bullshit! She obviously used Daddy's money to-" he cut off, a pillow of smoke ingulfing him. "Hah?!" He tried to blow the dust away with an explosion, only to be confused once he saw it didnt move.

"Todoroki, don't!" Before Bakugo could process, he was yanked from the cloud by Aizawas scarf, half a second before the smoke erupted in a huge explosion. He felt the heat of the impact singe the tips of his hair as he landed on the ground besides his teacher.

He looked up in shock, seeing Aizawa's hair levitating, his eyes glowing red as his scarf seemed to float around him.

"TODOROKI! YOU WENT TOO FAR!" Aiwawa reprimanded, wrapping the other end of his scarf around her. Bakugo looked over, only to be suprised at the tear-filled glare being sent his way. "You could've killed him just then. Control your emotions or leave."

Everyone stood in shock at what just happened. The force of the explosion making their hair shift to the side. Shoto stared wide eyed at the power that his little sister possessed, cursing his father. He called her useless and a waste, yet she could do THIS much with just a single quirk alone? He gritted his teeth. He had every right to hate Endeavor, and he hoped that Shira was on the same page as him as he watched the scene in front of him.

He too had got offended at Bakugo's commentary, insinuating that Shira only got in due to Endeavor's influence. It also made him mad because that's exactly how he got in. 'Recommendations' was just a nicer way of saying bribery, although he had no doubts in his ice abilities. As he watched Shira have a mini breakdown, the image of his mother before splashing his face in hot tea flashed in his mind. He shivered at the comparison, before looking onwards.

Shira stood, eyes not once breaking eye contact as she walked towards Bakugo. Once she finally made it in front of him, she bent down, making him tense as she grabbed the softball besides him. Narrowing her eyes, she walked inside the circle.

With all her might, she threw the ball, immediately blowing out a cloud of gunpowder. She clicked her teeth, an exposion bigger than even Bakugo's erupted. As the dust cleared, she walked forwards, scooping up the ashes of the incinerated softball.

She walked back towards the silent boy, pouring the ashes onto the ground besides him. "Although my quirk may not be best for physical support," She sneered, holding up her chin. "It's perfect for burning annoying shit to ash." and with that, she walked away, back towards her spot next to Midoriya, who was also shocked into silence.

'Did... DID SHE JUST PUT KACCHAN IN HIS PLACE?!"

Unseen, All Might shivered from his spot behind a corner where he was observing. He definitely could see the family resemblance at times like this!

After Midoriya's trial run, Shira was completely in last place, having a completely normal score. A few of her classmates surrounded her, giving her their support.

"I'm sure he won't really suspend you, Todoroki- chan!" Mina reassured.

"It would be completely unfair towards non- physical supporting quirks such as yours." Momo added, finger raised.

"Hagakure's quirk isn't physically supporting." Shira pointed out glumly. The invisible girl seemingly scratched her head from besides Jirou.

"Sorry Todoroki- chan..."

"Call me Shira," she said, sighing. "I know it must be hard having two of the same last name in one class, so just call me Shira."

"Speaking of that! Shi- chan! Are you and Todoroki twins?" Ochako asked, eyes wide in curiosity. Shira cringed at the childhood nickname.

"Yeah."

"Who's the oldest?" Hagakure asked. By now, almost the whole class hovered for the juicy information.

"He is." She said, glancing at him. He stared back, making Shira look away first. They would definitely have to talk later.

"Whoa, a lucky coincidence that you both made it into the same class, huh?" A boy, Kaminari asked. While his tone was genuine, Shira still felt defensive.

"Yes, it is." She replied, narrowing her eyes at him. His eyes widened, hands raised in defense.

"Do you also have a dual quirk, Shira?" Tsu croaked, head tilted with curiosity. Shita could help but think that out of all her classmates, Asui was the most adorable by far.

"No, I don't." Shira smiled, although Shoto saw right through it. "I don't have my mother's nor... father's. It's from my great grandfather."

The class let out 'oohs' and 'aahs' at this. Shira sighed. She really did hope that she could stay, she already liked most of her classmates.

Although at the discoverery of her childhood 'hero', she couldn't help but feel... disappointed. She guessed that her 4 year old traumatized brain glorified the boy so much, that even now, she had high expectations for their second encounter, only for them to be shot down.

"Hmph! You won't need a quirk anyways! I'll protect you and become the next Number 1 hero, just you watch, ugly!"

Perhaps it was all just 4 year old dreams and gibberish. Its her fault for even clinging onto that hope anyways.

Aizawa walked over, reassuring everyone that nobody would get expelled. All the girls enveloped Shira in a hug, crying in happiness as she giggled. She looked up, locking eyes with a pair of crimson.

She didn't have time to pinpoint the emotion in his eyes before he glared at her, following Aizawa back into the school.

She watched him walk away, feeling another pair of eyes on her. Her mismatched eyes found their pair, as Shoto gave her a nod. He didn't need to speak for her to understand.

'We need to talk.'

She nodded back, sharing one last look before he, and everyone else started walking into the school. Shira stayed in the back, collecting her thoughts. Today was just a very... emotional day.

She felt a hand fall upon her head, looking up to see a small smile from Kirishima that said 'You dont have to talk about it but just know im here for you.'

Shira smiled, tears finally pooling from her eyes as she cried silently. She held her arm over her eyes, Kirishima stopping to envelope her in a hug. True to her assumption, he didn't pry, only patting her on the back as she released her pent up emotions. After a few moments, she pulled away.

"Thank you, Eijiro." She sniffled, wiping her eyes. She continued her walk, him falling instep.

"No problem," He grinned, holding open the door. "Crying is manly."

Shira giggled, punching him in the arm, making him laugh along. As they joked, joining their classmates, they didn't notice the blonde leaning against the wall, glaring the the duo.

•••

Finally, their first day at U.A. came to an end. Shira walked out with Mina and Momo, listening to Mina gush about all the boys in class.

"We really do have the best looking boys in our class!" Mina pressed, turning to look at Momo. "Right, Yaomomo?"

"Well..." Momo blushed, hand covering her mouth.

"I'm telling you Mina, Class 1B has way cuter boys! Have you seen Awase-kun?!" Shira whispered, causing all the girls to giggle.

"I don't know, Shi-chan, I would've guessed that you'd think Kirishima was the best looking out of all the first class male students!" Mina teased, causing Shira to blush.

"What? No, we're just friends, really." She said.

Mina laughed as they got to the gates, noticing Shoto there. "Me and him went to the same middle school. He's a really cool guy, Shi-chan! I think you two would be cute!"

Before Shira could retort, Mina skipped off, waving behind her. She sighed, rubbing her temples.

"Oh my." Momo chuckled at their dynamic, also noticing Shoto. "Well, see you tomorrow Shira- chan. Goodbye, Todoroki-kun." She said to Shoto, before walking in another direction.

Shira waved, watching the girl go for a few moments before looking at her brother. They stared at each other for awhile before Shoto opened his arms wide. Shira sighed in relief.

He was still the same.

She ran into her twin's embrace, feeling another pothole filled. "I missed you," she whispered, holding her brother tight as if he could disappear at any moment.

Shoto didnt say anything back at first, but Shira heard the fast beat of his heart. Finally he said, "...I missed you too."

"It's all Father's fault."

"I agree."

"I hate him so much."

"I agree." Shoto replied through gritted teeth.

"Has he been ok to you?" Shira asked silently.

Shoto didn't reply this time, the question being left to float in the air as the reunited twins enjoyed their moment.

After a few moments, the twins walked, no destination in mind as they caught up. Or rather, Shira ranted about whats been going on in her life while Shoto listened intently.

"So, because of the gunpowder, I have to keep an inhaler on me constantly." She said, gesturing to her pocket. Shoto nodded, taking a mental note.

"What happens if you don't have it?"

"Then i'll probably have an asthma attack, which doesnt sound that bad but," Shira blew out a puff of smoke. "It's worse than it sounds when you only have one functioning lung."

Shoto nodded, hands in his pockets. He looked over at her. Her once knee length hair, now only brushing her shoulders. The only similarity being the soft white color it's maintained throughout the years.

She now was shorter than him as well, but only by a few inches. Shira had always been fairly tall for her age. Her mismatched eyes still shone with joy, yet now, they were guarded as well. As if that last bit of joy was on constant lockdown.

She looked... just like their mother.

Not that Shoto despised their mother, in fact, he didn't blame her at all. While yes, she did commit the action, he blamed that crack in her mental health, that moment of weakness on his father. What mother wouldn't break down after losing their oldest AND youngest child because of the same man?

The only reason he did not visit her, was because he felt guilty. He felt as if it was all his fault. His father drove everyone away for him- no, for his power. Touya, Shira, Mother... Natsuo. The other reason Fuymi is still around is because she tries to maintain hope that they could all someday still be a family again.

Shira's sharp inhale broke him out of his thoughts. He looked up, realizing that they'd self consciously walked to their childhood secret spot. Their duck pond.

Shira walked towards the pond, sitting criss-cross. She looked around for the ducks, coming up empty. "Where... where are all the ducks?" She asked, looking at Shoto curiously.

"I don't know. I stopped coming for awhile after you... left. I couldn't leave the house because of Father. When I did start back visiting, they were all gone." He explained, looking ahead at the pond.

Shira did the same, feeling her fingers curl in slight anger. She looked around, noticing the few scorched pieces of grass scattered about. She was about to ask, but stopped herself.

She'll ask later.

She laid back, closing her eyes as the grass tickled her face.

"You should head towards Grandmother's house, before it gets dark." He said, noticing the orange-pink tint of the sky.

"A few more minutes?" Shira replied, sighing contently. "Just ...a few more minutes."

Shoto didn't reply, only laying on his back besides her, staring at the sky as he holded his hands over his stomach.

Finally, he allowed all of his inner turmoil to disappear. At least, for now. For a few more moments, but that's all he needed.

"Just a few."
