My goal is to finish this chapter in less than a day... may the games begin.
Thanks to @sebastian0403 for your PM and Review! I appreciate it!
"No Kaminari, it doesnt."
Kaminari slammed his fist on the desk, ignoring Shoto's glare. "But how do you know?!"
Shira squinted her eyes narrowly, brushing a stray lock of hair from her eyes. She had them up in two small pigtails, but since her hair wasn't too long, a few wisps slipped out here and there.
"I think I'd know if my farts exploded, don't you think?!", She sneered, making the a few of the boys fall out in laughter.
Huffing in embarrassment, she turned away in her seat towards Kirishima- only to see he was laughing too! "Kiri!"
"C'mon Shi-chan! You've gotta admit that was funny!" He chuckled, ruffling her hair. She sunk in her seat in defeat.
"All of you need to grow up." She mumbled.
"Whoa, there's even more press outside now!" Sero announced, peeking through the window.
Jirou shook her head from her seat, twirling her jacks. "I couldn't even get into the school at first- they were shoving mics and cameras all in my face."
Everyone nodded in agreement.
Shira bit her lip, looking over towards Bakugo.
She kept the same distance walking to school this morning, 20 or so feet behind Bakugo, no words exchanged.
By the time they got to the school, they immediately got swarmed by dozens of reporters, flashing lights and microphones all in their personal space.
"Are you a U.A. student?"
"Is it true that All Might is apart of the UA staff?"
"Is he your teacher? Tell us about him, please!"
Between the dozens of questions getting thrown at her, and Bakugo's threats from a few feet away, she didn't know what to focus on.
"Um, E-excuse me.." She stammered out, trying to push through the crowd only for a reporter to grab her upper arm tightly.
"C'mon kid," An older man said, flashing a desperate smile at her. "Help us out here, eh?"
Shira shrunk away, trying to pull her arm back. "I-"
"LET HER GO ASSHOLE, BEFORE I BLOW YOU A NEW ONE!" Someone yanked her from the man's grasp, pulling her through the crowd agressively. She looked up as they pushed through, watching Bakugo as he yelled threats and popped mini explosions towards anyone who got too close.
"Hmph! You won't need a quirk anyways! I'll protect you and become the next Number 1 hero, just you watch, ugly!"
'I wonder if he remembers...' Shira thought, twisting her lips. She looked at her hand, lying limp in his hold as he dragged her along by the wrist.
Aizawa stood at the entrance of the school, waiting for the two. Shira could see the irritation clear as day on the teacher's face. He was definitely pissed.
Once they reached their teacher Bakugo swiftly released his hold on Shira's wrist and shoved his hands in his pockets. He pushed past Aizawa, muttering profanities as he walked towards class.
Aizawa sighed, looking down at Shira. "Are you alright Todoroki?"
Shira nodded silently. Assured with her answer, he slammed the entrance doors shut and activated the security alarm. "Damned vultures have been harassing the students all morning. You and Bakugo are the last ones to arrive." He started walking in the same direction as Bakugo towards the classroom. He looked over his shoulder tiredly when he realized his student wasn't following him.
"Come on Todoroki. Before you're late to class and I count you as absent."
"Sorry!"
"Shira?"
Coming back from her thoughts, Shira looked up to see Jiro looking at her in concern.
"You okay?" said Jiro, who was sitting to the front of her.
"Yea, I'm fine. Just tired I guess." Shira reassured, brushing a stray wisp of white hair out of her eyes. Jiro noticed and frowned, propping her cheek on her fist on Shira's desk.
"I'm not even going to lie," Jiro sighed. "I'm so jealous of your hair color." She said, pulling at a strand of her dark purple hair.
Shira's brows creased in confusion. "What's wrong with yours? I love your hair color, Jiro."
Jiro perked up, looking at Shira. "Really?"
Shira nodded.
Kirishima left his conversation with Sero and Kaminari to join theirs. "I like your hair color too, Jiro." He smiled. "It's awesome!"
Shira nodded silently, ignoring the emotion swirling in her stomach.
"Thanks, Kirishima. Yours is cool too, but isn't your natural hair color black?"
Shira's eyebrows shot up at this information. She looked closely at Kirishima, who sat to the right of her. The black roots were visible to anyone who was looking hard enough for them.
Kirishima blushed, rubbing his neck. "Yeah. Such a plain color, right?"
"I like it."
Kirishima grinned at Shira, who was avoiding eye contact.
"Thanks Shira!"
Sero scoffed, playfully glaring at Kirishima. "So black hair is plain, huh?" He crossed his arms. "That's foul bro."
"What's wrong with black hair?" Sato quipped from the back of the class, gaining the rest of the class's attention.
"Wait! That's not what I meant..."
Shira laughed, shaking her head at Kirishima.
Aizawa walked into the room, and the class silenced immediately.
"Hm, Decent work on yesterday's combat training. You guys did great." The itchy bandages on Shira's back told her otherwise. "I saw the video feeds and went over each of your team's results. Bakugo."
The explosion user looked up at the sound of his name, glaring at Aizawa. "You're talented. So don't sulk like a child about your loss, okay?" Bakugo scoffed at the petty advice.
"Yeah, whatever."
"Same for you, Todoroki." Shira looked down in shame. "You're talented. I saw the way you saved yourself from that fall. Trust in yourself and your quirk more. It's not a weapon, and neither are you."
Shira looked up in shock at the constructive criticism, but Aizawa had already moved on to Midoriya. She could only stare at her homeroom teacher. Her quirk... isn't a weapon? She's talented?
"Psst."
She looked over to Kirishima, who gave her a subtle thumbs up. Shira smiled softly, mouthing 'Thank you'.
"Now," Shira looked back towards Aizawa. "Lets get down to business. Our first task will decide your future."
"Another quirk test? " The class sweatdropped.
"You all need to pick a class representative."
"Oh good, just normal school stuff! " The class sighed.
Kirishima jumped up. "Pick me guys! I wanna be class rep!"
Kaminari waved a hand. "I'll take it!"
"Yeah, you're gonna need me." Jiro said, leaning back in his chair.
Aoyoma winced. "Someone with the right style would be best..."
As everyone yelled out their reasons why they should be picked, Shira felt a tap on her shoulder. She looked back towards Kirishima, who smiled at her.
"Are you running for class rep, Shi-chan?" She felt her cheeks darken.
"Ah, no I don't think so."
Kirishima tilted his head in confusion. "Why not? Everyone else is, it seems like."
Shira shook her head, smiling softly. "I don't think I'm fit for the leader role."
"Silence, everyone, please!" Iida announced loudly. "Todoroki is right-"
"Huh-"
"The class representatives duty is to lead others! That's not something just anyone can do! You must have the trust off the classroom, which is why the only logical way to go about this is democratically!" He stated, jutting his arm out. "We will hold an election to choose our leader!"
Kaminari scowled, leaning forward on his desk. "It's pretty obvious you just want us to vote for you."
"We've only known each other for a few days... how do we know who to trust?" Asui inputted. "Besides, everyone will just vote for themselves anyway."
Shira nodded in agreement, although she already had a few good choices in mind.
"Do what you want, just decide before my nap is over." Aizawa said, before lying in his sleeping bag.
Iida jutted his arm out. "Thank you for your trust!"
•••
"How did we get three votes?" Deku gasped. Shira stared at the board in shock. It must be wrong.
Midoriya -3
Shira -3
Yaoyorozu -2
Bakugo finally stood from his seat, fed up. "Okay, you idiots! who voted for 'em?!"
"Did you honestly expect anyone to vote for you?" Sero asked blandly.
Shira stood from her seat slowly, waving her hands. "This...This must be a mistake."
Bakugo whipped his head towards her, scowling. "Damn right it is!"
Aizawa stood from his spot on the floor, sighing. "Enough Bakugo. Midoriya is class rep and Shira is co-deputy."
"Wait-"
"Yeah, I can get behind Midoriya I guess." Kaminari said, shrugging.
"Shira seems pretty reliable to me." Asui croaked.
Shira sighed, sinking down in her chair. This isn't what she wanted at all.
Kirishima laughed, patting her on the head. "You'll do great, Shi-chan!"
•••
"Wow! This food is delicious!" Kaminari exclaimed, digging into his rice.
"Is it?" Shira smiled, blowing on her hot soba.
"Definitely!" Kaminari said, peeking at her tray. "Do you want your rice, Todoroki?"
"Not reall-"
"STOP BEING SUCH A BEGGER, SPARKPLUG!" Bakugo yelled, smashing his spoon down on the table. Everyone at the table stopped to look at him.
Kaminari slowly swallowed his rice, side eyeing the angry blonde. "Jeez, man...I was just asking!"
Kirishima awkwardly laughed, rubbing his neck. "Anyways... congratulations on being class rep Shi-chan." He smiled, making her blush slightly. A few of the others joined him in congratulating her.
"Aww, thanks guys, really, but..." she trailed off, picking up her bowl of rice. She slid it to Kaminari, who grinned, immediately tearing into it. "I don't really want to be co- deputy."
"What? Why?" Mina asked from beside her. "I voted for myself, but if not me, I would've voted you!"
"I voted for you." Kirishima said. Shira couldn't help the shy smile that didn't go unnoticed from a certain blonde.
"I voted for mahshelf too." Kaminari said with a mouth full or rice. "Shawy, Towoki."
Shira giggled, shaking her head. "It's fine. I just don't think I'm suited for a leadership role. I still need to gain confidence in myself and my quirk like Mr. Aizawa said."
"This is new to all of us," Kirishima reassured. Everyone with the exception of Bakugo nodded along. "So we'll all get through it together. We believe in you, right guys?"
"Yeah!" said Mina.
"Heck yesh!" said Kaminari.
"Of course." said Sero.
"Totally." said Jiro.
"No." said Bakugo.
Ignoring the last comment, Shira looked down smiling to herself. "Thanks guys. I really app-"
A loud ringing cut her off. "What is that?" asked Sero.
"WARNING," a voice boomed through the intercom. "LEVEL THREE SECURITY BREACH."
"What?" Shira slowly stood. Everyone followed suit.
"ALL STUDENTS PLEASE EVACUATE THE BUILDING IN AN ORDERLY FASHION."
"What's a level three security breach?" Mina yelled over the sudden uproar of panicking students. A random student with a fish mutation stopped to answer.
"It means someone managed to get past the schools barriers! This hasn't happened in 3 years! I'm out of here!"
"Wait! We should all cal-" Someone knocked into her shoulder hard, pushing her back into the panicked crowd. She struggled as she tried to get to her feet, but everytime, someone stepped on her in a hurry to get outside. "Ow! Wait- I-" She suddenly got kneed in the chin, making her bite her tongue on accident. She slapped her hand over her mouth, tears involuntarily falling from her eyes.
Someone snatched her arm from the crowd and onto her feet, pushing her against a wall and blocking her from the crowd. She tried to look up, but there was no space too between them. Even if there was, her tears blurred her sight from the chaos surrounding her.
She squeezed her eyes shut, keeping her hand pressed against her mouth as she tried to calm herself. Her body ached all over from students trampeling her but the biggest pain was her mouth.
"Ow!"
"Watch out!"
"Me first!"
"Hey!" She opened her eyes at the familiar voice of Kirishima. "I can't find Shira! Have you seen her?!" She used her free arm to wipe her tears. She looked up, only to be met with deep crimson eyes looking down right back at her own tearful brown and blue. He stared at her for a moment, then looked to the left where his arms where blocking her view. The way he had her encased between his body and the wall, she could only see from under his arms.
"Haven't seen her."
"Oh man! I'm gonna go look deeper in the crowd. Stay right here." She heard Kirishima say. She worried for him going into such a rowdy crowd, until she remembered his quirk. He would be fine as long as its activated. It made her wish she could be useful during the situation.
She suddenly got pushed back, crushed between the wall and his body.
"HEY! WATCH IT DUMBASSES!" Bakugo yelled to the crowd. He looked down towards Shira, noticing her mouth covered. "What happened t'you?" He reached to pull at her hand, but she leaned away, shaking her head as her tears threatened to fall once again. "Alright, alright." He glanced back towards the crowd. "Where the hell is the school staff?!"
Suddenly, Iida's voice filled the room, loud and clear. "EVERYONE LISTEN UP! EVERYTHING IS ALRIGHT, IT'S ONLY THE MEDIA OUTSIDE!"
Shira stood on her tip toes to peek through the space between Bakugo's encircled arms. From where she stood, she saw Iida stuck awkwardly above the crowd in a weird position. If her body wasn't in pain she probably would've laughed from the situation.
"WE'RE UA STUDENTS! WE NEED TO STAY CALM TO PROVE WE'RE THE BEST OF THE BEST!"
"Hmph, didn't know Glasses had it in 'em-" He froze when he turned his head to look down at Shira, only to meet her face to face. His gaze softened for a second, taking in her puffy wet eyes and the subtle blood slipping through her fingers that covered her mouth before they narrowed into slits. "C'mon." He demanded, grabbing her hand and pushing through the now docile crowd of students harshly.
"Hey! Watch it, Jerk!"
"Shut the hell up!" Once he made it to the nurses office, he slammed open the door. Recovery Girl blinked from her desk, before standing and walking over.
"Oh you poor thing." Recovery girl cooed, grabbing Shira's hand from Bakugo and pulling her to a empty bed. "What happened sweetie? I bet it was that darn panic! Those press are to blame for this. Hmph, in my day..." Shira tuned the nurse out as she rambled, looking behind her only to see her classmate gone, the door frame empty.
Recovery girl sat her down on the bed and grabbed a type of magnifying class. "Alright. I'll need for you to drop your hand for me sweetie." Shira's eyes darted to the door. "It's alright, he's probably went back to class by now." She shut the curtains surrounding the bed for extra privacy.
Shira slowly lowered her hand, looking at the nurse's reaction closely as she examined.
"Well on the good side, you'll be fine as soon as I give you a big ole' kiss. On the downside, you might have a nasty bruise on your jaw until tomorrow at the latest." With that, recovery girl kissed Shira on the forehead. Shira smiled. The soothing and gentle touch reminded of her Nana.
"Before I send you off to class, lets clean up the blood from your chin, sweetie. Don't want your classmates panicking again!"
•••
Aizawa stood in front of the class, irritation etched over his features. "Its time for class, Class Representatives, please come to the front."
Midoriya and Shira both walked up to the front of the class. "Um, we need to figure out the other class officers..." Midoriya started. "But before we start! There's something I want to say. I've though long and hard about this and I think Iida should be our class rep instead!"
Iida gasped from his seat.
"He was able to capture everyone's attention and get us in line, so I believe he should be leading the class from now on!"
Murmurs of agrees floating amongst the class. Shira took a moment to take a deep breath before taking a step forward.
"I fully agree with Midoriya... and I also would like to stand down from my position. Please allow Yaoyorozu to take my place. She has what I greatly lack, critical thinking and confidence. Until I gain those assets, I don't believe I'm built to instruct the class." She bowed to the class, then looked to Aizawa for approval.
"Well that's that. Iida is our class representative and Yaoyorozu is our class deputy."
Iida stood. "If Midoriya is nominating me for this position, then I humbly accept!"
As the class began chanting for Iida, Shira moved to go back to her seat. Out of the corner of her eye, she caught Bakugo looking her way, but he turned before she could make eye contact.
Kirishima looked her way once she sat down, concern on his features. "Hey you okay? I couldn't find you earlier, I was worried." He said, glancing at the bruise on her chin. He reached out to her, stopping to look at her for permission, before gently grabbing her jaw and examining it. "Ouch, that looks like it hurt.." He brushed his thumb over the bruise faintly. "Does it hurt?"
She smiled, shaking her head. Eijiro smiled back softly, letting go of his hold on her and talking about his experience during the panic.

"Did you get what we needed, Kurogiri?"
"Yes, Tomura. We shall commence?"
"Yes. We can finally put an end to Allmight..." He opened a folder, grinning devilishly. A picture fell from inside the folder onto the floor. A student smiling shyly, short white hair framing her features. "Maybe even Endeavor if we play our cards right, it seems..."
"Anything you wish, Tomura..."
He closed the folder and stood, stepping on the photo as they walked away.
