"You better buck the fuck up nerd! I want you at your best when I beat the shit out of you at the sports festival Monday, got it!" Bakugou shouted.
Izuku waved his friend away, completely ignoring Bakugou's angry shouts. Izuku already knew he had the sports festival in the bag, but he figured he'd humor his best friend and agree to his terms.
"Yeah, yeah, I'll run a lap tomorrow if it makes you feel better." Izuku yawned.
Bakugou's face turned an unnatural red, at Izuku's nonchalant reply. "MAKE THAT TWO LAPS!" Bakugou shouted stomping off.
Kendo followed suit, once she saw her boyfriend had made it safely to his apartment room. "Bye babe, get some rest!"
"Bye, we can talk wedding details after the sports festival!" Izuku shouted, running into his apartment once he saw a shoe headed his way.
"BABE, WE'RE NOT- GOD DAMN IT!"
"Hisashi...our baby's engaged." Inko sniffled.
"Ya hear that guys! My boys engaged to that cute chick that's way out of his league!" Hisashi bragged.
"Didn't your kid barely turn sixteen or something?"
"Fifteen and a half, now shut up!"
"Kami, oh man, uh I am out of shape." Izuku gasped from where he lies on his spot on the ground.
"Honey. You barely made it to the door" Inko deadpanned.
"Really? But I'm so winded" Izuku sighed, wiping the sweat off his brows.
Inko stared at her son worriedly, perhaps he wasn't fully healed Afterall. She was about to recommend he skip the sports festival when he rolled his way back to his room announcing he was done exercising for the day.
"But you didn't even leave the house" Inko sighed. "Oh whatever, so long as you feel better that's all that matters" she thought.
Meanwhile at the Bakugou household Katsuki growled at his cereal. Someway, somehow, he knew his best friend wasn't listening to him and wasn't practicing for the sports festival. Instead that damn nerd was probably taking a damn nap.
He was.
Kendo sighed heavily, she knew her boyfriend was most likely not listening to her and Bakugos lecture to train before the sports festival. Instead he was probably napping.
"What am I saying he doesn't even consider us competition", She scoffed.
He doesn't.
It was finally time for the sports festival, everyone was in their gym uniforms in the locker room psyching themselves up for what was possibly the biggest sport event to happen in all of Japan since the Olympics ended. And while they were all excited to show what they were made of and gain the attention of all the heroes out there they couldn't help but miss the presence of their resident mime boy.
"What the heck! Sensei said Midoriya was gonna be here in time for the sports festival so, where is he?!" Kirishima whined.
"Yeah, I thought Aizawa-sensei said Midoriya was gonna be back by the time the sports festival rolled around, but I haven't seen Midoriya anywhere." Mineta pointed out.
"Has anyone been in contact with Deku since his release?" Momo asked.
All those in 1-A shook their head, none having even thought about getting in contact with the mime trainee, instead doing as their sensei said and letting him have time to rest.
"Wait what about Bakugou, they're best friends, wouldn't he have seen Deku?" Tsuyu pointed out.
"Oh yeah, Yo Bakubro any update on Midoriya's location?" Mineta asked.
"Why are you asking me? It's not like I have a tracker in the fucking nerd! And I'm not your Bakubro!" Bakugou growled.
"You don't?" Kirishima asked.
"You're not?" Mineta pouted, his question going unanswered.
Bakugou scoffed but looked away while trying to discreetly check his phone, he didn't really want anyone to know he had indeed put a tracker in Deku's phone.
"That damn nerd would be there", Bakugou growled.
"Babe, is there a reason why you're in 1-B's locker room and not with your own class?" Kendo sighed.
"I haven't seen you in so long I just wanna hang out with you for as long as I can" Izuku pouted.
"Do you not want me here?"
"Uh, damn cute mime… fine, you can stay. Just get off my lap. I need to stretch before-"
"Bam!" Before Kendo could even think of finishing her sentence Bakugou had burst into 1-B's locker room.
"DAMN DEKU, GET YOUR ASS OVER HERE! I need to declare war with you before we step out" Bakugou barked as he strolled into 1-B's locker room as if he belonged in there.
"Oh?! And just what is a lousy 1-A extra doing in OUR locker room?" Monoma boasted. "Couldn't help but see who was going to beat you into submission?"
Bakugou stared at the 1-B big mouth before turning back to Midoriya. "Look here nerd-
"Hey, did you even hear what I said!" Monoma whined.
"Your quirk may be stronger than mine and you may be leagues ahead of me in its mastery but I'm still gonna kick your ass" Bakugou threatened.
"Aww, Kacchan, you think you can beat me" Izuku said chuckling, "That's cute."
"I'm gonna make sure I kill you now."
"Sorry Bakugou but I'll be the one to beat Midoriya." A new voice said.
"Huh?" Both Bakugou and Midoriya said as they turned to the new arrival.
"Midoriya. Objectively speaking, you are stronger than me. But my quirk is more versatile, and I have complete mastery over it." Izuku just stared at him, apparently icy-hot was unaware of the fact that Izuku too had complete mastery of his quirk.
"My dearest dad is watching and seeing as you're probably the strongest contender for number one in our class beating you will help get him off my back for the time being."
"Well my dad is watching too so I guess that makes two dads who are watching us huh, peppermint candy?"
"Gah- Oh, I'm gonna annihilate you mime boy. "
"Is our locker room just gonna be taken over by 1-A now?" TetsuTetsu asked.
"I don't think so...it's probably just those three weirdos." Setsuna answered.
"HEY GUYS I FOUND MIDORIYA!" Kirishima yelled.
"Mido-kun!"
"Izu-bro!"
"I spoke too soon." Setsuna deadpanned, as she watched the entirety of 1-A barge into their locker room and barge out while dragging their resident mime out.
"Bye babe! Good luck tryna beat me today!"
"Uh, cocky bastard." Kendo mumbled.
"Class 1.A, please make your way to the playing field."
Here. We. Go.
The stadium was filled to the brim. Proud parents, excited spectators and members of hero agencies, (even some heroes who took a day off) all those people gathered to watch the first-year sports festival. But the scouts were especially bigger this year. They had pictures and profiles of every member of class 1.A, although, for some strange reason, quirks were blackened out.
"It's a special surprise, and it will help get everyone attention they deserve," said Nezu as he handed out the documentation. However, that mattered little for the one student that most heroes had heard about and were looking forward to already scouting. That's right, the mime boy who was able to outrun six heroes and save his class as well as three pros from villains. He was widely known and currently being highly sought out for by just about every hero here.
He just didn't know it yet.
"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! CAN I GET A HEY?!" The whole stadium responded to Present Mic's request.
"THAT'S WHAT I LIKE! WELCOME TO THE FIRST-YEARS SPORTS FESTIVAL! WE WON'T BE LOSING TIME, HERE THEY ARE, THE FIGHTERS, THE SURVIVORS, THE UNBEATABLE CLASS A! FOLLOWING THEM IS THE EQUALLY AS STRONG, UNDEFEATABLE, AND UNTOUCHABLE CLASS B!"
"What couldn't find any other synonyms to use?" muttered Aizawa, as he sat next to the eccentric hero. How he got picked to be a co-commentator still eluded him.
"Quiet Eraserhead! NEXT WE HAVE CLASSES C, E, AND D OF GENERAL STUDIES! FOLLOWED BY THE SUPPORT COURSE, F, G AND H! AND THE BUSINESS COURSE, WHO WON'T BE PARTICIPATING IN THE EVENTS! PARTY POOPERS."
"Language," muttered Aizawa.
The students of general studies muttered among each other, annoyed that they are participating just to make the hero courses look better. The support course students who Izuku couldn't help but interact with given their eccentric behavior, were fixing and adjusting their many gadgets and trinkets. The heroic course on the other hand were all but nervous.
"I am so nervous!" yelled Uraraka, almost making herself float with her own quirk.
"To perform in front of so many people is also the duty of a hero," muttered Iida, before grabbing Ochako on the shoulder, keeping her grounded.
"So manly!" said both Kirishima and TetsuTetsu from class 1.B. Most other students conversed among each other, trying to calm down their nerves. And Izuku, well he was busy talking to Hatsume of the support course about possibly being a future assistant to one of his shows. She was turning out to be quite the character, and he was here for it.
"The time has come... FOR THE ATHLETES OATH!" Came a familiar voice.
The crowd immediately began welcoming the heroine, you could even hear wolf whistles as she posed on the stage. Until she cracked her whip, immediately silencing everyone.
"Now, your student representative is... Izuku Midoriya, from class 1.A, the new record holder for the most points gathered during the entrance exam". One would expect Bakugo to be freaking out, but he just scoffed. He didn't need to hear about how the damn mime nerd beat him in the entrance exam again.
Izuku basked in the attention, the applause, the looks of awe, this is how he wanted to be looked upon when he was the number one mime. However, he knew he was stills away from that goal.
"Man, Izu-bro is really soaking up his popularity, don't ya think?" Kaminari said.
"Eh, dude deserves it after all he's done for us, don't ya think?" Jiro answered back.
Kaminari shook his head and laughed. "Yeah, Midoriya does."
Meanwhile our resident mime was busy remembering his speech he had written. When Aizawa sensei had visited him at the hospital he had told him all about the student oath and how he would be the one to give it. Despite him rejecting the position he was still forced to do it. So instead of whining about the position he decided to whip up a snazzy lil speech that he thinks everyone will enjoy.
"Oh boy...why do I feel like I am going to be embarrassed on national television Pomeranian?" Kendo shivered.
"Because man hands, you are." Bakugou sighed.
"I will not be going easy on any of you, except Kendo. That is Itsuka Kendo. My girlfriend. Future wife, future hero partner and current-Well fiancée now. We got engaged a few days ago. It was very romantic; I was in the –
"SHUT UP AND GET ON WITH IT!"
"You shut up Kacchan!"
"No, you shut up!"
"Make me!"
"Don't test me nerd!"
"I'll test you all I want blondie!"
"Oh yeah!"
"Yeah!"
"Uh...did those two forget about the festival?" Kirishima asked.
"I... think so?" Uraraka said.
"Come up here and show me what ya got explosive boi!"
"I'll show ya!"
"Easy boys, easy! As much as I love the sight of two boys fighting, we need to get the sports festival started."
Izuku turned to Miss Midnight in the middle of choking Bakugou and apologized. "Sorry Midnight-sensei!"
""mm, vat, duh nerd sed" Bakugou growled, while still biting Izuku's arm.
The entire stadium couldn't help but look on at the two students fascinated. Those were two to watch for sure.
"That's my boy! You take down boom boom boy!" Hisashi cheered alongside his coworkers who were watching the sports festival with him. They were busting up at their coworker's sons' antics.
"Man, Hisashi's son sure is a hoot."
"Alright then, for the first event-" Midnight cracked her whip in the direction of the display board "-we have an obstacle race! All students line up!"
Students moved towards the entrance, where an image of a smiling Nezu reminded them to play fair.
"Ah, yes... For the rules, all quirks are allowed!" the students cheered, now more pumped up.
Unfortunately for Todoroki he had barely managed to get a spot in the middle of the pact, while Izuku had gotten one at the very front of the line. All those who had experienced Midoriya's quirk at the entrance exam began to sweat bullets, they had to get pass Midoriya before he could trap them like he did that day.
Little did they know their efforts were all for naught.
Meanwhile Bakugou began preparing himself for whatever his friend had planned. Thankfully he was fast enough to get a spot at the front and was already prepared to propel himself through whatever the nerd threw at him. Kendo on the other hand resigned herself to most likely getting embarrassed and not even worrying about what place she'll get.
All the other students were pumping themselves up in different ways. The girl with vines for hair had her hands interlocked, and muttered words. Kirishima and his twin TetsuTetsu were both using their quirks to harden their fists and knocked them together. The guy with purple hair was wishing good luck to everyone, almost everyone answering him, however when he went to Midoriya to greet him he walked into some sort of invisible wall stopping him from proceeding any closer to the green haired boy.
"Weird." Shinso thought.
"All right then if you're all ready now?" Midnight announced.
" Then Three!"
"Two!"
"One!"
"START!"
Izuku immediately put his plan into action and grabbed his girlfriend by her waist tossing her over his shoulder and ran. Without looking back, he lifted a sign out of nowhere saying "Byeee!"
"DAMN IT BABE!" Kendo shouted from her spot atop Izukus shoulder.
"Aww, just what I expected from young Midoriya" All might said nodding.
"Trapping your competition, so you have no competition…I've trained you well."
The rest of the heroes watching the lone student run the course with ease, while carrying a girl on his back, stood shocked at the sight back at the entrance. Then turned back to All might who continued to look at the green haired student proudly, mime boy was turning out to be even more powerful then they though. If they weren't putting in a bid for him to be their sidekick before then they were for sure doing that now.
"I raised that boy" Inko said proudly to those sitting around her. Those who had heard her couldn't help but gawk at the slim green haired woman.
She raised a monster!
A few seconds earlier
Just as Midnight announced the signal to go, a strong gust of cold air swept over the stadium creating another obstacle aside from the one they were already facing which was trying to get out of the entrance towards the actual obstacle course.
As the students threw themselves at the entrance, they all came to one horrifying realization... they couldn't get out of there. For some reason every person who kept trying to leave kept falling backwards. Meanwhile others found their feet frozen to the ground. It turns out that gust of wind was not just a random anomaly with the weather, but the work of 1-A's resident ice user Todoroki who had tried to freeze everyone in place so he could get out first. The results to this quick thought up plan were not what he expected.
"What? Why can't I get out?" Todoroki growled trying to push his way through the dozens of frozen students but instead hitting an invisible wall.
"Wait a second. An invisible…wall! Damn it Midoriya!"
"WOULD YOU LOOK AT THAT TODOROKI FROM 1.A MANAGED TO FREEZE ALMOST ALL HIS COMPETITION TO THE GROUND!"
"But in the end the problem child managed to foil everyone's plan and effectively eliminate his competition." Aizawa sighed.
"Oh...yeah." Present Mic chuckled. "But hey look at that seems like someone managed to make it out with the way they're chasing after Midoriya?" Present Mic cheered.
"Hmm, that's not just anyone that's-
"DAMN NERD! WHEN I GET YOU, YOU'RE GONNA REGRET IT!" Bakugou shouted.
"; p"
"You little!"
"Babe! Please put me down already!" Kendo cried. Since the beginning of the obstacle race Izuku had refused to let his girlfriend down from her spot on his shoulder. Not only because he wanted her to advance to the next round but also because of the great view he had.
"Izuku, I know you're staring at my ass."
"No, I'm not."
"Izuku."
"But it's right there!"
"Babe. Stop staring at my ass."
"We'll continue this later" Izuku whispered to Kendo's butt.
"What did you say Izuku?" Kendo asked while trying to keep her hair out of her face.
"nothing!"
"You realize once those three passes the finish line we're going to have to redo a second obstacle course for the other participants, right?"
Present Mic looked to the Eraserhead, then to all the other contestants stuck behind their little mime's wall. "Well damn...this is gonna be a long day."
Back with Midnight
"And tied for first place we have IZUKU- what's that? You wanna be introduced as a couple? Oh, you mean by your- Well. Okay." Midnight said.
"Let's try this again. Tied for first place we Izuku and Itsuka Midoriya!" Midnight announced.
The crowd raged for the bushy haired teen wild card and his fiancé. Already they were proving to be a force to be reckoned with.
"OH MAN THOSE TWO ARE GONNA BE SUCH AN ICONIC HERO DUO!" a few fans yelled from their spot in the crowd.
"And in third place we have Katsuki "Explosion Boi" Bakugou!"
"Yooo! That's Deku's the greats assistant!"
"No way! It's Explosion Boi!"
"Deeeeeku! I said I didn't want that name!" Bakugou growls trying and failing to chase after the teen who was still holding his girlfriend atop his shoulder.
"Babe, put me down already!"
"No!"
"Err, and that concludes the obstacle race portion. I think. Midoriya-kun if you could release the other students so we could prepare another obstacle course that'd be great.
With just the snap of his fingers, although he didn't even have to do that, it was just for theatrics, all first years trying to get out of the barrier he had put up were finally released.
"WE'RE FREEE! NOW WATCH AS I BEAT ALL YOU GUYS!" Tetsutetsu yelled.
"Not likely" Todoroki mumbled about to shoot ice at his opponents again.
"Upp, bup, bup. Now hold on there little ones. You no longer will be going through this obstacle course. Instead we will be taking a brief intermission and building a new one JUST. FOR. YOU!" Midnight revealed.
"WHAAAAT?"
"Everyone please go for some snacks or the bathroom while we are spicing things up for these kids." Midnight advertised.
"Why can't we just go through the- "
"Because I said so!" Midnight said cutting off Tsuyu.
"Nerd. Where the hell have you been?" Bakugou growled.
"Kendo and I were making out in the girls' bathroom while the rest of the first years waited for the new obstacle course. Why?"
"Babe!" Kendo coughed, blushing.
"You idiot, you two were sucking face so long, you missed them calling everyone back from the intermission as well as the entire obstacle race! We literally moved onto announcing what the second round is!"
"Oh, so we're not late?" Izuku said.
"Just in time?" Kendo added.
"You idiots! But yeah" Bakugou shrugged.
"Now while that was quite the eventful obstacle race, we now have our 41 contestants who are moving on to the next event! Those who managed to fight their way onward, congratulations. Those who didn't, blame mime boy!
"Hey!" Izuku yelled.
"Now it's time to find out what our next event will be!" Midnight announced ignoring Izuku's protest.
"And the event is... CALVARY BATTLE!"
"Calvary battle huh? Sounds lame but I'll bite" Izuku shrugged.
"Shut it nerd! We haven't even heard the rules yet!"
"Thank you Bakugou! Now then you will be forming teams of either two-four people. One person will be the rider and the others will be "the horse". Each player will be given a certain amount of points and together your team will be given a headband with your total points combined!"
"Oh, sounds easy." Izuku said.
"Shut up I haven't finished mimey!" Midnight growled.
"Sorry!"
"As I was saying, the point systems go as followed with the 41st player having 5 and then doubling on to the next one and so on" Midnight announced.
"Oh, so then I'll have like- "
"But here's a twist first place gets ten million points!" Midnight shouted with a devilish gleam in her eye.
"Oh, my math was way off." Izuku chuckled, scratching his frizzy hair.
"Izuku, no they're just...never mind."
"Well, good luck and have fun choosing your teams!"
"Well, looks like this is gonna be a tough round right babe?" Izuku said smiling towards where his girlfriend once stood.
"Babe? Babe?"
Looking around Izuku finally saw where his girlfriend was standing only to gasp in betrayal. His girlfriend had teamed up with none other-
"Pay attention Bakugou or we're gonna lose to Izuku within the first five seconds of the round!" Kendo yelled.
"Betrayed by my own fiancée." Izuku pouted. "Well anyone else wanna be with me?! I can cook, kinda! I'm strong! When I wanna be. Is anyone still without a partner!" Izuku yelled dramatically.
Just as numerous students were about to charge up to the mime and team up with him, someone beat them to it.
"Hey Izu-bro wanna team up?" Mineta asked. Since no one else seemed to want him on their team, he was sorely hoping Izuku would at least accept him.
"Heck yeah! You ride on my shoulders and I'll just create walls surrounding us so no one can even think of touching us!" Izuku said instantly coming up with a plan.
"Oh, what have we done Bakugou?" Kendo muttered.
"We've done fucked up is what we've done" Bakugou sighed.
"And that's time for choosing teams! Onto the real Calvary Battle!"
