Merry Christmas Cloud!

~Merry Christmas Cloud!~

Cloud awoke to the tapping sound of footsteps and the course of squealing laughter coming his way from down the hall. He knew right away it was Marlene and Denzel on their way to wake him up so that they can open their Christmas presents.

Any second now, Cloud thought to himself as their footsteps and giggling got louder. He pulled the covers over his spiky-blond head, not wanting to get up at all. He knew how happy the children were, and that's all he's ever wanted. However, he also wanted to catch up on some sleep since this past month with deliveries has been hell for Cloud since the big Christmas rush.

The door slammed open, Cloud couldn't help jumping slightly underneath his heap of covers.

"MERRY CHRISTMAS CLOUD!" Marlene and Denzel coursed together, stepping in the room still in their pj's.

"Mmm..." Was Cloud's only response from under the blankets, he looked like big lump.

Marlene and Denzel looked at one another and exchanged smiles before they flung themselves onto Cloud and Tifa's bed.

"Ommff!" Cloud drew out from the impact of the two children landing directly on his back, he was sure that the sharp blow that was sent to his rib cage was from one of their elbows.

"Cloud! Wake up! It's Christmas!" Denzel cried out as he bounced the bed. Cloud mumbled something unclear.

"YEAH! Tifa told us that everyone in the house had to be up before we can open our gifts!" Marlene added, Cloud felt her little hands on his lower back before she started to shake him.

Curse Tifa's rules, Cloud thought bitterly.

"Come on Cloud! Time to get up! It's already Seven!"

"Seven? Oh for the love of Gaia!" Cloud growled as he tossed the blankets off of his head, and of course it only took one look at his spiky hair that was messier then usually to get the two children cracking up.

Marlene giggled. "We've been up since five-thirty!"

Poor Tifa, Cloud thought. Knowing how tired she must be from all the late hours shes been working in the bar, just so she could have Christmas day off.

"Come on Cloud!" The children cried and they started to shake him again.

"Marlene..." Cloud drawled out followed by a yawn. "Could you please get your hands off my butt."

Marlene's cheeks turned pink as she quickly dropped her hands to her sides. "Opps, sorry..." She picked up her golden teddy bear back in her arms. Denzel smiled immensely at Cloud, he was a bit more patient than Marlene.

Cloud rubbed his eyes before letting out another yawn, he knew that he wasn't going to get anymore sleep.

"Alright...I'll be down in five minutes..."

"No you won't!" Marlene cried, her long wavy brown hair shook back and forth with her head. "You'll just go back to bed!"

Cloud sighed. "Clever little girl you are."

Marlene giggled before wrapping her little arms around Cloud's neck in a gentle hug, Denzel smiled and joined by wrapping his around Cloud's slim waist.

"Okay...okay...let up...it's still early..." Cloud said patting their backs gently.

The children smiled and released Cloud from their hugs and grabbed his hands instead,dragging him out from the warmth of his bed and down the stairs to the living room. The hard wood floors were cold on his feet. All Cloud wore to bed was a loose dark-blue t-shirt and black baggy sweat pants, unlike the two children who had their fleece pj's.

"Marlene...is that my earing?" Cloud asked once his eyes fell onto her fluffy gold bear that indeed, was wearing his wolf stud that resembled the Fenrir in it's left ear. Marlene giggled and nodded.

"I promise I won't loose it, and I'll give it back now if you want!"

"Thank you..." Cloud said taking the stud from the girl and fumbling with it a few times before getting it back in his ear.

"I kept telling her not too!" Denzel said glaring at Marlene who only shrugged.

"Blame Honey! He told me too!"

"That's alright...just make sure to remind Honey that you always need to ask before taking or borrowing someones stuff." Cloud replied yawning once more, he wasn't a hundred percent awake yet.

Marlene nodded. "Don't worry Cloud I will!"

As the three of them reached the living room, Cloud was surprised to see Zack and Aerith with Tifa on the couch. Well...technically, Zack had the entire couch to himself because of his long legs. Aerith was seated on his lap already dressed in her red strapless dress, that stopped at her ankles, flowy and elegant, her hair was all dolled up as always.

Typical Aerith, Cloud thought before looking back at Zack who was dressed in a simple black sweatshirt and black slacks, slightly casual. Typical Zack. Then finally, Cloud looked over at Tifa, who was sitting on the arm rest of the couch still dressed im her pj's which were grey fleece pants and an oversized red sweater that really brought out her crimson-colored eyes.

Cloud felt a small smile tug at his lips. To him, no girl in the entire planet could ever be more beautiful to him as Tifa was.

"Morning sleepy-head." Tifa greeted him with a warm smile, her eyes seemed to sparkle. "Merry Christmas."

"Mmhm..." Cloud replied walking over to help Tifa up from the couch to take her place on the arm rest before sitting her back down on his lap. He nuzzled her neck gently. "You're warm"

"Geez! Merry Christmas to you too buddy!" Zack snapped causing both Aerith and Tifa to laugh.

"Oh relax you, Cloud's still sleepy!" Aerith said gently, tossing her long twisted hair over her shoulder that ended up smacking Zack in the eye, causing him to flinch.

"Ouch! It's Christmas...why be so hasty!?"

Aerith just smiled and winked at Tifa who laughed before looking down at the two children before her that were sitted by the tree waiting anxiously to open up their gifts.

"Now!?" They both asked, their eyes bright with excitment.

Tifa smiled and gave them a nod.

"Now."

As Marlene and Denzel tore through the wrapping paper that hid their presents, Cloud felt almost a warm feeling inside his heart. With his two best friends, his lover, and children surrounding him, was what made it Christmas for Cloud.
