No Horror Movies

"Hey, Tifa?" Denzel called from the other room, he and Marlene have just returned from school and Tifa was still working.

"Yes, Denzel?" Tifa replied as she handed a costumer his drink.

Denzel stepped into the bar with a movie in his hands, and it did NOT look like the type of movie that a child should watch. Tifa's eyes widened but she remained calm.

"Denzel, where did you get that?" She asked reaching out a hand to take the movie from him, the last thing she wanted was for him or Marlene to get scared and be up all night, let alone watching rated R movies.

"I found it in the Man-Cave!"

Tifa sighed.

The Man-Cave was Zack and Cloud's "Special Room" where the two would chill and talk about what's on their minds. Denzel always tried finding ways to hang out with them, but he could never get past Tifa.

"And did you ask to take this movie?" Tifa asked looking at the back of the DVD case to view all the ratings, that got worse and worse as she read on.

Denzel flushed. "No…." Oh he knew what was coming next.

"Should you ask before taking things from people?"

He bowed his head. "Yes, Tifa….I'm sorry…"

Tifa smiled and reached over to ruffle his shaggy brown hair.

"That's alright, just don't forget next time. It's important that someone knows when you have their things."

Denzel nodded. "Does that mean I can watch the movie with Zack!?"

"Absolutely NOT!" Tifa nearly shouted as she threw the DVD into the garbage bin. "That movie is WAY to scary for you!"

Zack walked in smiling like he always did. "Hey Denzel, how was scho-AHH!" He cut himself off and ran past him and Tifa to fetch his DVD out from the garbage.

"THIS IS A RENTAL, TIFA! A RENTAL!" He cried shaking the DVD in her face.
Tifa smirked and folded her arms across her chest. "Well maybe you should keep that movie in a spot where curious children won't find it." She replied, not loosing her grin.

Zack opened his mouth to say something, but he didn't know what to say. Tifa was right. Tifa was ALWAYS right.

"No Horror movies for Denzel, OR Marlene. Understood?"

"Yes, Tifa." Both Zack and Denzel grumbled.

Tifa smiled and gave them a quick nod and walked back over to serve her costumers, she would be working for another three hours, Aerith was working at her little flower shop she owned down town and didn't get back until dinnertime, and Cloud wouldn't be home until late. Marlene was outside by the Seventh Heaven working on her throws for Softball.

"Man, what will we do now!?" Denzel asked when he made sure that Tifa was a good distance away from hearing them.

Zack made a deal with Denzel that if he helped him polish and wax his bike he'd get a scary movie for the both of them to watch, since Cloud and Tifa would never do so.

"Just sneak down to the Man-Cave at midnight while everyone's asleep." Zack replied, talking as quietly as he could.

"What if Tifa or Cloud find's out?" Denzel's eyes widened. Zack laughed.

"Relax! She'll never find out!"

"CLOUD! CLOUD! TIFA! TIFA! TIFFAAAAAAA!" Denzel's cries and shouts could be heard throughout the house later on that night while everyone was asleep, or so they thought.

Cloud and Tifa sat up in bed in a jolt just ad Denzel threw himself up on their bed and hugged them both as tightly as he could, he was shaking violently.

"Denzel? What is it, sweetie?" Tifa drawled, not completely awake yet. Unlike Cloud who was ready to attack anyone who threatened or even dared to hurt his family.

"Are you hurt?" He asked, his voice serious and calm. "Is someone in the house?"

Denzel shook his head. "No! Zack and I watched a really scary mo-oooohhhhh….." Denzel paused and looked up at Tifa with a horrified look.

Her amber-colored eyes glowed with anger, even in the dim light he could see it.
"Denzel…" She started.

Oh he was in trouble, grounded for sure.

"Didn't we have this talk earlier?"

"What talk?" Cloud asked, completely puzzled.

"I'm sorry! I wanted to watch it!" But it was so scary! Oh Tifa, I should have listened to you! I'm really sorry!" Denzel cried and buried his face into her shoulder crying softly.

Cloud fell back into the pillows. "I'll deal with Zack later." he grumbled.

"I'm sorry." Denzel repeated in a weak voice, his dark blue eyes were wide as plates.

Tifa sighed and held the boy close to her. "Just sleep in here with us tonight, Cloud will kill Zack in the morning."
