Big Mom has a particular penchant for singing malicious songs in a light-hearted and happy tone, as she sang Bloody Party together with her homies and some musicians of the Big Mom Pirates while planning Pudding's wedding.

Big Mom just brushes it off by saying that it is natural and that everyone should get along. When she entered one of her craving-induced rampages, Big Mom did not recognize a guy as her 16th son and attacked him for blocking her path, taking away some of his lifespan in the reover, should any of her children defy her in any way, she will desire to have them severely punished and even killed without hesitation or remorse. She absolutely loathes her disobedient daughter, Lola, for running away from a political marriage with the Elbaf prince Loki since it ruined Big Mom's one opportunity to make peace with the giants and gain the power to defeat the other three Emperors and become the Pirate King.

The user can steal part of the victim's lifespan, leaving their remaining lifespan that much shorter, or even take enough years to steal a victim's entire remaining lifespan, killing them instantly.

Ameila: Homies are subservient to the user, as they fear and respect their powerful soul, allowing them to easily create more and more subordinates with every soul taken. Since a Vivre Card is naturally infused with the owner's soul, a Vivre Card created from the user of the Soul soul fruit will allow the person wielding it to command the homies just as if they were the fruit user themselves. However, the user's presence and commands supersede those of the person with the user's Vivre Card. The card itself exudes a bright-pink aura that only homies can see, and seems to frighten them. Even if a homie does muster the nerve to turn against and attack the user, they are typically powerless to do much as the user can rip out the soul inside them with ease.

Akaru: The user can also use fragments of their own personal soul to create "special homies", who tend to be more powerful than regular ones. It is currently unknown how using ones own soul to create special homies might affect the users own life expectancy. The user may also manifest their own soul in the form of roughly human-sized, dark, somewhat humanoid blobs known as "Incarnations", which possess limited sentience and can take people's souls as well. While souls cannot be infused into living beings, the user themself appears to be an exception to a certain extent. It is possible for one to sacrifice a portion of their own lifespan in exchange for extra power and size, with the amount of strength gained being dependent on the strength of the soul. In addition, the user can turn their individual body parts into Homies themselves, allowing said parts to act independently of the user's own normal bodily functions. Big Mom, for example, can give life to her own skeleton and order it to restructure itself in case of broken bones, thus providing an unique form of self-healing.

Ameila: there is a weakness ,Soul fragments cannot be infused into people or corpses. Furthermore, the target of the soul extraction must be at least somewhat afraid in order for the user to be able to take their lifespan; if the target is not afraid in the slightest, then their soul will not manifest from their body and the user will not be able to extract milarly, if homies experience extreme fear, they will instantly die and wither away. The user also has to be in close proximity to the target in order to be able to take away their lifespan, as they need to physically grab and pull the soul out to extract it from their body. If the victims cannot hear the user's voice, the user cannot extract their souls.

Akasu: It appears that a person's own soul can be returned to them after being extracted, circumventing the limitation of souls not being able to be infused into people or corpses, which restores an amount of lifespan equal to how much of their soul was returned; even lifeless bodies can be revived this way. it seems that only entities capable of physically interacting with souls such as the fruit's user, or their Incarnations can perform this process.

It was around this time that Kaidou had a daughter named Yamato, who later told him that she wanted to be Oden, and Kaidou beat her in response.

Akasu: 20 years ago when Oden and his nine retainers were on their way to Onigashima, Kaidou and his crew confronted them in the Udon region. In the ensuing battle, Oden managed to inflict Kaidou with a permanent wound on his torso, possibly the first he ever received. However, Kaidou knocked Oden unconscious when Oden was distracted by Kurozumi Higurashi who had impersonated a kidnapped metime after the battle, Kaidou killed Higurashi for her interference. On the day of Oden's execution, Kaidou joined Orochi in witnessing the execution. Oden then made a deal with Kaidou to let those who survived the execution go free and Kaidou gave him an hour. Kaidou was amused to watch Oden as the latter endured standing in a pot of boiling oil while holding his retainers above his head with a board. Although Oden successfully survived one hour in the boiling pot, Kaidou and Orochi decided to execute Oden and his retainers regardless. As Oden's retainers fled, Kaidou apologized to him for Higurashi's interference before shooting Oden in the head.

Hikari: After Oden's death, Kaidou attacked and set Oden Castle ablaze before Oden's retainers returned. While threatening Momonosuke, he told the boy that his father was a foolish lord. However, Kaidou decided to leave Momonosuke in the burning castle instead of killing him outright.
Eventually, not long after Oden's death, Kaidou confronted a chained-up Yamato for using Haoshoku Haki to knock out many of his subordiates. He thought that her ability to use haki was promising, but he still insisted that she should die for calling herself Oden. Kaidou decided to lock his daughter up inside of a cave in Onigashima for an entire month with a few other samurai. He placed a bunch of swords inside of the cave so that the samurai would fight for a single portion of food. Before leaving, he told his daughter that she wished all of this upon herself for calling herself Oden. After the samurai broke out of the cave, Kaidou was informed of this by his subordinates.

Minato: Ten years ago, the Kozuki Family's supporters, who feared that they would be to old and weakened to fight by the time the twenty years were up, gathered to stage a massive rebellion before the comeback of Oden's retainers. Andrew: Eventually, the angry citizens tracked them down to their shack and, unable to contain their anger at the former World Nobles, attacked Doflamingo, Rosinante, and Homing. The three Donquixotes were lynched and severely beaten, but they ultimately survived, and it was then that Doflamingo swore to kill everyone, which horrified his father, brother and the e memory of this experience would stay with Doflamingo for many years, and would go on to blame his father for all this suffering from thereon.

Hillbrid: At some point, Doflamingo met Vergo, Trebol, Pica, and Diamante and displayed the ability to use Haki, knocking out a mob who tried to lynch him. Impressed, Trebol believed Doflamingo to be chosen by heaven and then gave Doflamingo the string string fruit and a pistol, giving Doflamingo the power to exact revenge on anyone he wanted to kill.

Silvea: At the age of ten, Doflamingo then decided to kill his father to regain his former status as a World Noble. With the pistol gifted by Trebol, Doflamingo shot Homing in the head while ignoring Rosinante's pleas to not kill him. He then returned to Mary Geoise with his father's head in an attempt to regain his old status as a World Noble, but he was rejected as one of a "family of traitors" by the Celestial Dragons. Since then, he swore revenge on the Celestial Dragons for rejecting him. Doflamingo managed to flee Mary Geoise with knowledge of the Celestial Dragon's national treasure, which would later allowed him to blackmail his former compatriots to grant him the equal rights that he lost.

Lilith: After returning to North Blue from Mary Geoise, Vergo, Trebol, Pica, and Diamante then elected Doflamingo as their leader and swore to build him up into the next Pirate King and promised to never let anything stand in his way. Their devotion for him is such that they would kill any and everyone who would so much as offend Doflamingo in even the slightest manner. Trebol shot down some thugs who hurt Doflamingo and they went as far as burning down an entire town for having poor pavement that made Doflamingo trip. He finally reunited with his younger brother, Rosinante, when he was 24 after his younger kin went missing for 14 years. However, because Rosinante had refused to speak, Doflamingo had assumed that his brother had lost his voice from a traumatic incident.

Akasu:About one year after this, Vergo was enlisted in the Marines under Doflamingo's orders, and he ascended the ranks for fifteen years, eventually becoming a vice admiral, while keeping his true identity hidden from everyone outside of his affiliates, thus granting Doflamingo the most trusted and convenient Marine officer available to rgo's mission left the Corazon title for Rosinante to succeed.

Lilith: At age 25, he encountered a 10-year old Trafalgar Law in North Blue at a port town called Spider Miles. While strapping himself with bombs, Law asked Doflamingo to let him join. After Law had been with the crew for about a week, Doflamingo was seen having a meal with his "family". Law held a grudge against Corazon for throwing him out of a window, but Doflamingo warned Law not to lay a hand on his brother. The crew then learned that Law was sick with the Amber Lead Syndrome. They then heard how Law escaped the extermination of Flevance.

Akaru: aw reminded Doflamingo that he would die in three years time, but Doflamingo went on to explain that their "family" dealt with underworld businesses and told Law of a possibility for survival: obtaining a Devil Fruit power that could heal him. He further explained that if Law was lucky to find one before his life expired, he would raise and train him to be his right-hand man in ten years. During the next two years, Doflamingo and his crew spread their influence as they traveled to the Grand Line. They participated in various activities such as looting, making business deals, and collecting bounties. Doflamingo also had his crew members teach Law various forms of combat. While the crew engaged in a battle with the Marines out at sea, Law and Corazon suddenly left. Senor Pink showed Doflamingo a note from Corazon, saying that he left to find a cure for Law's illness. Six months later, Doflamingo contacted them via snail phone After asking them about their search for a cure, Doflamingo asked Corazon and Law to return to the crew. He also revealed that he had found information on the op op fruit and wanted Corazon to eat it and heal Law, unaware that his younger brother already possessed another Devil Fruit power. He explained to Corazon about his plan to steal the Op Op fruit from a trade that was going to occur on Rubeck Island and told Corazon to rendezvous with him on Swallow Island three days before the exchange. After speaking with his younger brother, Doflamingo then had a meeting with Diamante, Trebol, and Pica. They expressed their suspicion of Corazon being a Marine informant, seeing no Marine soldiers knew of their whereabouts during Corazon's absence. However, Doflamingo found it uncomfortable to believe that his younger brother was a traitor.

Lilith:Doflamingo and his crew later arrived at Minion Island where the pirates who had the op op fruit were based. After his arrival, he was informed of Corazon's treachery by Vergo. Doflamingo expressed his disappointment and deduced that Corazon had stolen the Devil Fruit. He then used Birdcage to prevent Corazon from escaping. Doflamingo later confronted Rosinante after he was captured and beaten by the rest of the Donquixote Pirates. Rosinante pointed his pistol at him and revealed his Marine rank. Doflamingo then demanded the whereabouts of Law and the op op fruit. Rosinante revealed that Law already ate it and misinformed him that Law escaped the birdcage safely and was in the custody of the Marines. When Buffalo and Baby 5 informed Doflamingo that they intercepted a transmission saying that Marines took a boy into custody, Doflamingo dispelled the birdcage and prepared to go after Law. After Rosinante firmly declared that Law would not obey him, Doflamingo shot Rosinante multiple times before leaving. When they returned to their ship, the crew came under fire by Tsuru's squadron, though managed to escape.

Betty: (growled in fury) Doflamingo, I'll make you regret the day you were born.

Andrew: Ten years ago, Doflamingo started building his powerful reputation by stealing money from the World Nobles and blackmailing the World Government to attain the position as one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea. One night, Doflamingo appeared at Dressrosa in Riku Doldo III's chambers. After Riku recognized him as a descendant of the Donquixote Family and commented on his feats as a pirate, Doflamingo stated his demand, asking for a g10 billion fee until the dawn of the next day in exchange for leaving the country alone. To avoid war, Riku Doldo agreed to the as the money was being gathered, Doflamingo, from behind the scenes, used his Devil Fruit ability to control Riku and made him rampage in the city of Sebio. As panic and confusion spread throughout the kingdom, Doflamingo proceeded to take control of the soldiers as well, making them attack innocent civilians against their will. As he gleefully watched from the shadows, Doflamingo and his top three subordinates waited for the right moment to step in and act as heroes in the eyes of Dressrosa's citizens.

Akaru: While Doflamingo continued to control Riku Doldo III, his subordinates managed to take control of the castle with the help of an inside spy Monet and also took princess Viola hostage. Once the citizens' trust for their king was shattered and they gave in to despair, Doflamingo, Diamante, Pica and Trebol appeared and defeated the king and his army, passing themselves off as heroes and setting the grounds for the Donquixote Pirates' takeover of the island. He then held Doldo captive at the palace. When Kyros arrived to confront Doflamingo, he told the former gladiator that he had sent subordinates to kill his wife and child. When Doflamingo was about to execute Doldo, Kyros attempted to attack him, losing his leg and getting transformed into a toy by Sugar in the process. Despite this, Kyros managed to escape the palace with Doldo.

Hikari: After that night, Doflamingo ascended to the throne. He claimed that the former king was responsible for making Dressrosa a poor country and promised wealth to the citizens. In the meantime, he had his subordinates hunt down anyone with an affiliation to the previous king. Because he found Viola's Devil Fruit ability to be useful, he spared Riku Doldo's life on the condition that she would aid the Donquixote Pirates. With the castle bearing his smiley, the Donquixote Pirates used the island as their base. Doflamingo used his weapon trading to instigate wars by supplying arms to various factions including the enemies of the Kano Country. Doflamingo, using Sugar's Devil Fruit ability, turned those who opposed him into living toys, erasing their past and making the people close to them forget who they were. In addition, he enacted two laws that created segregation between humans and e Bellamy Pirates also swore their allegiance to Doflamingo, and were permitted to use his Jolly Roger.

Lilith: Some time after gaining a powerful influence in the underworld while using the alias Joker, Doflamingo formed a three-way alliance with the rogue Marine scientist, Caesar Clown, and Kaidou of the Four Emperors, in order to create the SAD and SMILEs, to create an army of Zoan-type users within the New World. However, needing Caesar for the SAD production and not trusting him, Doflamingo assigned Vergo to act as an intermediate. Doflamingo provided cover for Caesar's research with the assistance of Vergo, who officially reported the kidnapped children to have died in accidents at sea.
