~Like A Puppy~

They were all so tempting as they laied their beneath the tree.

Stacked on another like pancakes and wrapped in fancy paper that shimmered under the illumination of the trees lights.

Did he REALLY have to wait until the others got up?

It wasn't like THEY didn't know what he got, they're the ones who went shopping for him! The only one who doesn't know about his gifts were him! So why couldn't he open them!?

"I'm not going to open their gifts! Just mine! So I don't see what the problem is!" Zack spoke to himself with a sigh.

He paced around the tree, his electric blue orbs locked on to the silver wrapped boxes that had his name on them.

"They'll still see how excited I am when I show them what I got!" Zack said, then sighed again. "Nah...nah, I can't! I can't upset them on Christmas..."

He turned his head and glanced over at the Grandfather clock that stood in the corner of their living room.

Zack narrowed his eyes.

"Nine thirty? That's it! I've waited long enough! How long do they plan on sleeping? Till noon!? Now THAT'S not fair to me!"

Zack crouched in front of the tree and picked up a packaged gift with an elegant black bow wrapped around it, knowing right away it was from Aerith.

A grin crossed his face as he gently shook the box.

"Hmmm...I wonder what's in here! Besides...they won't be too upset if I open one..."

His fingers started to tear at the paper...

"Wow...it's really starting to snow out there! I already can't wait for spring!" Aerith said as she, Cloud, and Tifa descended upon the stairs.

"It is winter..." Cloud muttered, clearly in a unpleasant mood from being woken up.

Tifa opened her mouth to scold Cloud for his bitterness on such a cheery holiday, but all that came out from her mouth was a gasp.

Aerith and Cloud looked at the red-eyed maiden, alarmed and concerned.

Cloud grabbed Tifa's shoulders. "What is it?" He could feel adrenaline already pumping through his veins.

"It's ZACK!" Aerith answered for her friend, pointing a finger at her tall boyfriend.

Cloud and Tifa looked at Zack baffled to see the dark-haired SOLDIER surrounded by pieces of wrapping paper and opened boxes.

"WHAT DID YOU DO!?" Aerith cried, her hands fluttering to her cheeks. "Why did you open all your gifts before us!?"

Tifa narrowed her eyes and folded her arms across her chest. "You promised us you'd wait.."

Cloud glared at his friend in disapproval, relying on the girls for the lecturing since he wasn't very good at it.

"Uh...Merry Christmas!?" Zack offered the three a wide smile.

"Nice try." Tifa scowled, bending down to gather all his new gifts in his arms.

Zack's eyes widened. "W-wait! Tifa! Where are you going?"

"Putting these away! You are not to have them for the rest of the day! Maybe that will teach you some patience!" Tifa replied, walking down the hall to lock Zack's gifts in the closet.

"Aww! Come on!" Zack got up to his feet. "It's not fair having me wait for hours for you guys to wake up! What's the big deal!? You already know what you guys got me! The only surprise it's for is me!"

Aerith sighed and shook her head slightly, resting her hands on her petite hips before turning her head to look up at Cloud.

"Like a puppy!"

Cloud could only nod in agreement, but he couldn't help but wonder if Tifa would do the same for Barret, Cid, and Yuffie...

Since they didn't have much patience either...
