"And the giant squid lashed out at my ship, its tentacles flailing wildly!"
"Then what happened?" Chopper gasped in horror.
"I defeated it with my trusty slingshot, of course," Usopp said, nodding. "It grabbed me and tried to crush my bones- but I knew its weak point! One shot to the eye and it released me, sinking to its death in the briny deep!" Usopp finished with a flourish, his arms raised dramatically.
Chopper breathed out, then broke into applause. "Wow!"
"Hey," Usopp said, his eyes alight with mirth. He leaned in closer to Chopper.
"Did I ever tell you about the time I single-handedly saved a princess from certain death?"
Chopper gasped again in excitement. "No, what happened?"
Usopp liked Chopper. Not only did he listen to Usopp's stories- He also believed them and wanted to hear more. His enthusiasm about them took Usopp home.
Kaya…
Usopp grinned and began his story. "Well, I was traveling-"
