Part 6- Vampire and Alien
"Welcome back, everyone," the young Da Vinci greeted the Masters. "Looks like it's a good thing that Arcueid insisted on having Ryougi Shiki come along, or that fight would've been a lot more difficult."
"...I had only insisted on her accompaniment due to her resemblance to Tohno Shiki," Princess Arcueid admitted. "I never anticipated that we would be fighting HIM, of all people... But still, thank you, Ryougi-san."
"...Don't mention it," Shiki muttered, averting her gaze. "I did what I had to do. That's all."
Sion then spoke up, "So, if your Spirit Origin has ascended due to the power you reclaimed from that Roa, does that mean you won't try to kill me or Suzumiya anymore?"
"Suzumiya is my Master. Of course I won't kill her. That would violate the contract we formed when I was summoned," Arcueid said logically. "As for you... while I was literally created for the sole purpose of killing Dead Apostles, if Master says you are someone important to her, then I will stay my hand for now."
"Not just to me, but to all of us here," Haruhi insisted. "Anyway, Artesia obviously needs medical attention..." Rapidly approaching footfalls were heard in the distance. "Ah, looks like she's been resummoned already..."
"Indeed I have!" Florence Nightingale cried as she arrived in the chamber. "This saber is clearly gravely wounded! To the Medical Bay!" With that, she picked up Artesia, easily slinging her over her shoulder!
"Master-!" the blackened saber gasped in pain, Haruhi just giving a helpless shrug in response as her servant was carted off.
"...Who was that?" Princess Arcueid asked curiously.
"Florence Nightingale, Berserker-class. She was a nurse in life," Da Vinci explained. "And the current head of our Medical Department. As you can see, she's quite... enthusiastic about treating wounded soldiers."
"Yare yare, that's an understatement," Kyon said as she walked up with Yuki at his side. "So miss vampire isn't going to try and kill Haruhi anymore?"
"Of course not. She is my Master," Arcueid said firmly. "On that note, I must apologize for my actions not long after I was first summoned..."
"Well, as long as you promise not to do it again," Haruhi said with a stoic nod.
"Thanks to the power that I reclaimed from Roa, I should have little trouble keeping that personality suppressed," Arcueid stated.
"Good to hear," Sion nodded. "Well, if you'll excuse me, I've got... stuff, to work on in the lab." She quickly made her exit, clearly not wanting to be in the same room as Arcueid any longer than she had to.
"...Now that Arcueid-san's Spirit Origin is stabilized, I would request her assistance with something," Yuki spoke up. "Specifically, I would request the use of her Marble Phantasm."
"Hime-san, please," the princess gently insisted. "By your leave, Master?"
"Sure, go ahead," Haruhi agreed. "I wanna spend some alone time with Kyon, anyway..." As she said this, she walked over and gently embraced her betrothed around the waist, Kyon smiling as he did the same.
"Understood. Please follow me, Arcueid-hime-san," Yuki promptly turned and left, Arcueid striding quickly after her...
*Underground Cavern*
Princess Arcueid frowned as she spread her hands, the solid rock obeying her command as it split apart and opened up. While this would normally be child's play for her, being limited by her servant container made this somewhat taxing... "Is this sufficient? I am becoming fatigued..."
"Yes, that will do," Yuki nodded. The cavern was now quite massive in size, though two-thirds of its floor was flooded with water from the sea outside. However, it was shallow where the water met the dry ground, gradually deepening further out, in accordance with the interface's instruction. "Now, there is one more task that requires your assistance, but it will be significantly less taxing on your person. But first, if you would please withdraw to the patio."
"Very well," Arcueid did as the alien requested. Yuki joined her soon after, holding up a hand and speaking something unintelligible... Suddenly the cavern floor was covered in sand! "Sand... beach sand. Ah, now I see. You are constructing an underground beach resort..."
"Correct," Yuki nodded. "I simply need you to smooth out and compact the sand."
"I can do that," the princess nodded, moving the sand with her Marble Phantasm until it was level, some spilling over into the water. "Unfortunately, I will not be able to partake in this luxury, as a vampire cannot cross running water, nor can I swim."
"Unfortunate, but understandable," Yuki gave a slight nod. "Nevertheless, your assistance is appreciated, Arcueid-hime-san."
"Yes, excellent work!" Helena Blavatsky concurred as she walked up. "You really helped speed things up here! Now all we have to do is install the supporting systems, and Fantasia Resort 2.0 will be a reality!"
"I detect a leyline directly underneath that you could tap into," Arcueid pointed out.
"Yes, we're already well aware of that," Helena nodded. "We'll need a lesser grail to jump start the systems once they're ready, but the leyline should be able to handle the power load afterwards. It's too bad you won't be able to fully enjoy the fruits of your labor... but at least you could partake of the bar, unless you don't drink."
"...I remember getting drunk once, but only after consuming twenty bottles of wine. Perhaps I may partake on occasion, within moderation," the princess mused. "Anyway, I believe I will retire to my Master's chambers now..."
"Wait," Yuki interjected. "Suzumiya-san is having... a private moment with her beloved. Might I suggest you retire to my room for the time being?"
"...Very well, if you will tell me the location," Arcueid nodded. This Yuki did, upon which the vampire curtseyed and took her leave via the elevator that would take her back to Novum Chaldea proper...
*Yuki's Room*
Princess Arcueid was slightly taken aback upon entering the room, seeing a woman, long, thick black hair standing there, who was dressed in a dark-colored business suit and skirt. "Oh, hello. I was under the impression that this room was unoccupied at the moment..."
"...Who are you?" the woman asked. "Moon... Cancer...?"
"Oh, yes, forgive my rudeness," the vampire bowed. "I am Arcueid Brunestud, Moon Cancer-class, princess of the True Ancestors. And you are?"
"Kuyou Suou. Alter Ego-class, interface of the Sky Canopy Domain," the woman answered.
"Interface...? So you are an alien like Nagato-san?"
"Yes... but we are different... that is, not from the same place," Kuyou said haltingly. "I am sorry, language is hard sometimes."
"Well, that makes sense, if you are an alien not of this world," Arcueid nodded. "But you are a servant, while Nagato is not?"
"I am a copy of the original Kuyou Suou that was_in the Throne of Heroes," the alien replied, before realizing she had skipped a word. "Er... that is... created. Stored."
"I understand... I think," Arcueid's brow furrowed. "But, if your original self is still active, why make a copy in the Throne?"
"To observe... Haruhi Suzumiya," Kuyou replied. "She... saved my original self... from a horrible... nightmare. Even if she did not_to... Er... did not intend to." Her body involuntarily shuddered from the memory.
Princess Arcueid was confused. "But... how could she save you without intending to?"
"I'll answer that!" A familiar voice replied, BB dancing into the room a moment later. "You see, Kuyou here was investigating an oil rig that was sinking to the bottom of the Mariana Trench, only to get absorbed by an Evil of Humanity. Beast III/R, to be precise. But that Suzumiya tricked her into absorbing herself, upon which she literally ripped that thot in half, freeing Kuyou in the process! But if it hadn't been for yours truly, Suzumiya would've died before ever getting the chance to do so!" Turning to Kuyou, she continued, "Which means you owe ME just as much as you do her!"
"...You talk too much," Kuyou said bluntly. "Hard to... understand you."
"But... how did you get involved, BB-san?" Arcueid asked. "And also, why do you consider yourself the original Moon Cancer?"
"Ohh... so the vampire princess wants to hear my backstory, does she?" BB grinned. "Well, seeing as I love to talk about myself, I shall grant your request, Your Highness! But you should make yourself comfortable, because this might take a while, even if I use visual aids!"
"...Very well," Arcueid nodded, sitting on the nearby bed, Kuyou sitting down beside her.
*Some time later...*
"So, how are your fellow espers doing?" Haruhi asked Koizumi as they sat down at the cafeteria, Kyon also with them.
"According to Mori-san, the ones that were struck down by Archetype: Earth should be recovered in a few days' time," Koizumi replied. "Although, she has to remian with them so Nightingale-san doesn't attempt any amputations or the like..."
"Mori-san has my deepest sympathies then," Kyon spoke up.
"Yeah, maybe you could cover for her for a few hours so she can get some sleep," Haruhi suggested.
"I will consider doing so, Suzumiya-san," Koizumi nodded, before seeing someone approaching from behind. "Ah, and speak of the devil, there's Arcueid-san now..."
"Here you are, Master!" the vampire greeted, her hair short once more. "I was in Yuki's room resting after helping her out with Fantasia Resort, if you were wondering where I was..." She promptly sat down on Haruhi's other side. "Oh, and, uh... Koizumi, was it? How are the other espers doing? The other me didn't kill them, I hope..."
"Rest assured, their lives are not in danger," Koizumi replied.
"Wait, you're back to your happy self again?" Kyon realized. "What happened to Miss Prim-And-Proper Princess?"
"Oh, she's still around," Arc responded. "She just found it kinda hard to deal with that BB character, so I came back out."
"BB?! What did she do?" Haruhi hissed.
"Oh, she was just telling me and that other alien about where she came from and stuff," Arcueid replied. "I never thought that the moon would be the housing of a giant supercomputer in one timeline... I certainly never heard of anything like that. But I guess that's why she's a Moon Cancer, huh?"
"...Oh. Right." Haruhi relaxed a bit. "Well, as long as she didn't harass you too much..."
"She got in my face a few times, but nothing that made me want to slice her to bloody chunks," the vampire shrugged. "That Kiara Sessyoin sounds like a real piece of work, though... I hope I never meet her. If even an alien like Kuyou is scared to death of her..."
Haruhi and Kyon exchanged glances for a moment. "Well... if on the off-chance she ends up being summoned here, I'll be sure to lock her up nice and tight, until I can be sure she isn't gonna try anything funny," the reality warper said. "I've learned my lesson after Vritra... take no chances with any outright evil servants."
"Am I still going to be shackled up, too?" Arc inquired next.
"Probably for a little while, until the fuss dies down a bit," Kyon answered in Haruhi's place. "And we'll probably have Qin Shi Huang or Jeanne D'Arc escort you for a while after that. You know the saying: trust is earned, not given."
"Fair enough, I guess. But I promise that Archetype: Earth won't come out unless Master wants her to, no ifs, ands, or buts. So can I at least get a bite to eat?"
"Sure, no problem," Haruhi nodded, signaling to Tamamo-no-mae nearby.
*To be continued...*
