Part 8- Welcome To Ooku

"Master, please calm down!" Princess Arcueid cried, Haruhi having grabbed Kiara Sessyoin and shoved her into the wall.

"You should... listen to... your servant," Kiara grunted in clear pain, though her expression made it hard to tell if she was actually enjoying it or not.

"Do you think I'm gonna take any chances after what you pulled last time?!" Haruhi hissed. "Where is everyone?! What did you do with them?!"

A flash of light, and a hand came down on Haruhi's shoulder, the reality warper turning to look- and recoiling as she beheld Archetype: Earth. "Master... use logic. If she were the one behind all this, why bother to dispel the illusion?"

Haruhi blinked a few times as realization dawned, before taking a deep breath to calm herself. "Okay... you're right. Guess I flew off the handle there..." She turned back to Kiara. "All right, I'll give you one chance to explain what's going on here..."

Kiara took a moment smooth out her nun's habit. "Well, as I said, this is the Tokugawa Restoration Labyrinth, Ooku. More specifically, the whorehouse of Nobustuna under the domain of the Tokugawa Shogunate, in 17th-century feudal Japan. Surely you know something about this, being Japanese yourself, Suzumiya."

"Only passing knowledge," Haruhi admitted. "I may have wanted to meet time travelers when I was younger, but that doesn't mean I cared much about history itself... kinda hypocritical, huh?"

"...You say that this place has become a labyrinth?" Archetype: Earth spoke up.

"Yes, this place has been twisted into a massive sprawling labyrinth, with the intent of making all who enter it fall into decadence," Kiara elaborated. "Many of your friends and servants have fallen for the delusions, believing that they're acting out their most secret, hidden desires... Case in point." She pointed to a door that was open, Haruhi seeing two familiar faces...

"Would you like me to service you, my lord?" asked Mori Sonou, dressed in her usual maid's outfit.

"Hah! I'll take another Pina Colada!" Goredolf Musik exclaimed, sitting in a chair. "This Fantasia Resort is wonderful!"

"...Not what I meant, but as you wish," Mori bowed, before turning and walking away.

"...Please tell me she wasn't insinuating what I think she was," Haruhi said in disbelief.

"Well, this is a sex chamber, what did you expect?" Kiara chuckled.

Haruhi shook her head in disgust, marching through the door and right up to Mori. "Hey, Mori-san! Snap out of it, will you?"

"Please excuse me," Mori tried to side-step the other brunette, "I must service my lord..." She was stopped as Haruhi grabbed her arm. "Please let go..."

"...I take no pleasure in doing this," Haruhi sighed, before giving Mori a brutal slap across the face! "Knock it off! You're an esper, not a sex-slave!"

"AH! What? Huh?!" Mori shook her head, bringing a hand to her reddening cheek. "S-Suzumiya-sama?!"

"Welcome back to reality, Mori-san," Haruhi deadpanned. "You'd think an esper like yourself would have some protection against brainwashing..."

"Brainwashing...?! Oh gods, what was I doing?!" Mori gasped in distress. "Wait, where are we, anyway?"

"A singularity in feudal Japan," Haruhi replied. "It seems most, if not all of Chaldea got kidnapped here somehow. I thought we were in the new beach resort, myself..."

"Hey!" Gordolf cried. "Where's my Pina Colada?! What kind of service is this?!" Getting up from his chair, he declared, "I'm going to go complain to management! This is absurd!" He promptly stomped off into the adjacent room...

"Hmm, doesn't seem like you'll be getting through to him anytime soon," Kiara mused. "Since you don't have a psychic connection like you do with Mori-san here..."

"Great," Haruhi sighed. "Mori-san, I'm sorry to impose on you, but could you... look after him, make sure he doesn't, like, drink poison or something?"

"...very well, Suzumiya-sama," Mori acquiesced. "I wish I could do more, but this isn't closed space, so... But please, try to find Itsuki-kun and the others."

"I will. You have my word," Haruhi promised. Mori gave a small smile, before bowing and taking her leave. "Right, so we should move on... are you coming with us, Kiara?"

"Hmm, I'd love to, but... it seems I can't move around much," the nun lamented. "My prana is at a critical level, the only reason I even manifested was by overwriting the fake Kyon that was meant to seduce you."

"Seduce...?!" Haruhi gasped before shaking her head. "Well, glad you nipped THAT in the bud! Though I think I could've told the difference between the real Kyon and a fake..."

"Are you sure about that? The corruptive force in this labyrinth is quite strong," Kiara pointed out. "You could very well fall into another trap without even realizing it... I'm the only one who can resist, on account of already being utterly depraved myself. Like it or not, Suzumiya, you need me."

"Are you asking to form a contract with Master?" Archetype: Earth realized.

"It's not that I want to, but, well... beggars can't be choosers, you know," the nun shrugged. "If it makes you feel better, I'll say that the one likely behind this twisted labyrinth is someone that I hate even more than I hate Suzumiya herself..."

"Still sore over me tricking you and ripping you in half, huh?" Haruhi gave a small smirk. "Okay, fine..." She held out her hand, her command spell sigil being imposed over Kiara, before being absorbed into her body. "But this is just a temporary arrangement until we get out of this mess, got it?!"

"I couldn't agree more," Kiara said as she stepped into the room. "Shall we go, then?"

"Lead the way, Sessyoin," Haruhi nodded. "Arcueid, you watch our backs. And no funny business."

"Of course not. Even I understand the gravity of the situation, Master," Archetype: Earth assured her. "This personality is the best suited for resisting delusions and temptations, after all."

"Fair enough. Let's go," Haruhi said, following Kiara through another door.

*A few rooms later...*

"...Please tell me I'm not seeing what I think I'm seeing," Haruhi said in disbelief.

"Oh, my," Kiara chuckled, "talk about infidelity..."

"Oh, Nagato-san," Kyon breathed out, gently pinning a spectacled Yuki Nagato to the wall, missing his uniform shirt. "You're the only one for me, my love..."

"Oh, Kyon-kun," Yuki sighed with an uncharacteristic smile, before engaging Kyon in a deep kiss...

"Rainbow Mystic Eyes," Archetype: Earth intoned. "...Nagato is real, Kyon is a shadow servant."

"Oh, thank gods..." Haruhi put a hand over her chest in relief. "Hey Yuki! Don't you think you could do better than a FAKE Kyon?!"

"Fake...?!" Yuki suddenly gasped in realization, pulling off her glasses. "You... you impostor!" She bucked 'Kyon' off, whose form suddenly shifted into a muscular shadow with an axe and horns!

"Grooooh! My wiiiife!" the shadow servant bellowed.

"Is that Eric Bloodaxe?!" Haruhi comprehended.

"Delete!" Yuki cried with an outstretched hand, the shadow Bloodaxe immediately dissipating into 1s and 0s. She then turned to face Haruhi, her body quaking with apparent fear. "S-Suzumiya-san... I... I..."

Haruhi just closed her eyes and heaved a sigh. "...Given the circumstances, Yuki, I think we'll just let you off with the standard penalty this time, okay?"

"Oh, I... I see..." Yuki calmed down considerably. "Thank you... I must apologize, Suzumiya-san. Clearly the enemy knew my weaknesses well..."

"Hmm, pining for someone you can never have?" Kiara teased. "That's dangerous, Nagato, especially with someone like Suzumiya here..."

"...I can only assume that you have forged a contract with Kiara Sessyoin out of necessity," Yuki observed.

"You better believe it," Haruhi concurred. "She overwrote another fake Kyon with herself before he could seduce me too..."

"Which begs the question of where the real one is," Archetype: Earth pointed out.

"...Uncertain," Yuki replied after a moment. "My connection with the Integrated Sentient Data Entity has been disrupted. If not for that, I might have deduced the impostor's identity immediately..."

"Of course. Figures," Haruhi sighed. "Guess we've got no choice but to keep going, then... Is there anything you can analyze about this place, Yuki?"

"One moment..." the interface slowly turned her head as she scanned the room, her gaze fixing on Kiara briefly before moving on. "Complete. This malevolent energy... its wavelength is similar to that of Beast III/R... but not exactly the same."

"...That's it!" Archetype: Earth realized. "Master, it must be Kiara Sessoyin's counterpart- Beast III/L."

"Beast III/L?! Oh, great..." Haruhi felt a headache coming on, massaging her temples. "As if Kiara wasn't bad enough... explains why she showed up here, though."

"Indeed, though Beast III/L did her best to try and suppress me," Kiara nodded subtly. "Too bad she underestimated my resourcefulness... that being said, I don't believe she has any idea what my physical form even looks like, which may give us an advantage..."

"Is that why you're in your nun's clothes, instead of something more revealing?" Haruhi inquired.

"Something like that. Anyway, we're wasting time. We may have saved Nagato from being violated, but your other friends..."

"Yes, we should make haste, Suzumiya-san," Yuki insisted.

"Right, let's get moving," the reality warper agreed, the party moving on...

*Stairwell Room*

"These stairs will take us deeper into the labyrinth," Kiara said as they entered. "But the delusions will only grow stronger from here..."

"Wait," Archetype: Earth called. "I sense something..." Her eyes glowed in rainbow colors. "Kuyou Suou is here."

"Kuyou is?!" Haruhi gasped, she and Yuki immediately taking a defensive stance. Sure enough, the raven-haired alien faded into view a moment later.

"It is only the Alter Ego, not the real one," Yuki observed.

"Master..." Kuyou began. "Master has showed me... so many... wonderful things... I will not let you... deprive me..."

"She's obviously corrupted," Haruhi groaned. "Yuki, do you think you could take her?"

"I can hold her off," the interface answered, before disappearing in a flash, shoving Kuyou against the wall in an instant! "Go on ahead! I will catch up when I have subdued her!"

"Okay, good luck!" Haruhi nodded, she, Kiara and Archetype: Earth running for the stairwell. "Don't get yourself decompiled, okay?!"

"Understood!" Yuki shouted back.

*At the bottom of the labyrinth...*

"So it seems that Haruhi Suzumiya freed herself," Beast III/L noted. "But this is only the beginning... soon you will also accept my love..."

*To be continued...*
