Part 9- Falling Into Decadence
"Heeeeeeeelllp!"
Riyo Gudako ran through the halls of the Ooku, gasping for breath... coming to an intersection, she made a quick left- only to run into a dead end! Turning around, she quaked with fear as her purser appeared- an undead skeleton with black hair in a massive bun, wearing a purple kimono! "Help! HELP ME!" the redhead screeched in terror as the undead approached with claws raised...
But then the undead was suddenly skewered through the torso by a black tentacle with red eyes! "Now, now, that's not how you treat a guest..." Kiara then appeared before the wraith, blowing it away with an energy blast from her palm! As what was left crumbled to dust, she turned to face Gudako. "Are you unharmed, young one?"
"Ahh... thank you! Oh, thank you, sister!" Gudako wailed as she grabbed Kiara in a grateful embrace, tears of relief streaming down her face as she buried her head in the nun's bosom. "I-I was so scared...! I thought I was gonna become a ghost...! (sob)"
"Shhh... there there, you're safe now," Kiara gently stroked Gudako's hair. A few seconds later, Haruhi and Archetype: Earth came running in.
"Oh, you found her. Good work, Kiara," Haruhi nodded in relief. "You okay, Gudako-chan?"
"Haruhi-chan?" Gudako broke away to see her fellow Master. "Y-yeah, now that you're here... and you brought servants, too..."
"...Oh, right, you don't know her. Um, the one you're hugging is Kiara, an Alter Ego-class servant. She's kinda depraved, though, so don't get too chummy with her..."
"Huh? Why not? She seems nice enough," Gudako said, even as she pulled away from Kiara.
"I speak from experience, believe me. Just take your senpai's word for it, okay?"
"Technically, I'm your senpai..." the redhead shrugged. "Buuuut, since I didn't wake up for a long time, I guess you gotta point..."
"Technically I'm older than both you and Ritsuka, but we're getting off track. I'm guessing you haven't seen any familiar faces?" Haruhi guessed.
"No, one moment I thought I was taking a nap in Chaldea, and the next I thought I was having a nightmare, until that skeleton scratched me and it actually hurt!" she pointed to a scratch on the back of her left hand. "Do you know where anyone is?!"
"I found Yuki and Director Musik upstairs, and one of my espers," Haruhi replied. "I had to leave them behind for one reason or another, but they should be okay for now..."
"Right now, our focus should be on finding Master Ritsuka," Kiara spoke up. "Having all the Masters back together would be to our tactical advantage..."
"And we should find more servants, too!" Gudako exclaimed. "Ritsuka-kun can handle up to six, after all, so the more the merrier!"
"Alright, let's get moving," Haruhi nodded. "Just stay close to me for now, okay Gudako-chan?"
"Okay," Gudako agreed, moving to her fellow Master's side...
*A few minutes later...*
"Geez, how many more dead-ends are we gonna run into?" Gudako complained. "This place is like a freaking maze!"
"It IS a maze," Kiara pointed out. "But I think we're getting close to something..."
"Hopefully it's something good," Haruhi sighed. "Wait, I hear something..."
"Sounds like... human voices," Archetype: Earth mused.
"...Oh yeah, I think I hear people, too!" Gudako said with a smile. "Good, maybe we can ask them for help!"
"Hmmm, I don't think that's such a good idea," Kiara said. "Because it sounds like they're in the middle of quite the orgy..." Haruhi blanched as her ears confirmed what the Alter Ego told her.
"Huh? What's an orgy?" Gudako asked, confused.
"Don't answer that!" Haruhi cut Kiara off before she could reply. "We don't need you corrupting Gudako's innocent mind!"
"That's right! I do the corrupting around here!" a youthful female voice called out. A blue-hot fire suddenly blazed up before the party, soon dissipating to reveal the form of a little girl with short white hair and red eyes, dressed in purple. "So you managed to free yourself from my delusions... Suzumiya likely thanks to her servants here, and Gudako because she's far too innocent to begin with..."
"We found a servant!" Gudako exclaimed giddily.
"Stay back!" Archetype: Earth held out her arm in a protective gesture. "I sense malevolent energy from this one! She may be working with the Beast!"
"Working with the Beast...? Hmph," the little girl closed her eyes in annoyance. "So close to the truth, and yet so far..."
"Well, who are you then?" Haruhi demanded.
"...I'm Kama, the Hindu god of love," the girl introduced herself. "My arrows provoke love and lust in whoever they hit..."
"So you're like Cupid, then?" Gudako guessed.
"Please... don't compare me to that puke-inducing little angel," Kama gave a sinister open-mouthed smile. "He gets off scot-free, never taking responsibility for his actions, for better or for ill... Me, on the other hand, the one time I took my job seriously, I was unjustly punished for it..."
"So what, this labyrinth is your idea of exacting revenge?" Haruhi spoke up.
"Exactly," Kama chuckled. "You may temporarily break free, but you will never escape my maze of decadence and illusions..."
"Aww, don't be like that!" Gudako pouted. "Love is wonderful! Just because you got punished once doesn't mean you should throw it all away!"
"Throw it away...? Fufufufu... naive girl, you have no idea..." Kama's eyes became shadowed. "This labyrinth IS how I spread my love... like I have done to those espers up ahead. And soon you will succumb as well..."
(Espers? As in my espers?!) Haruhi realized, but held her tongue.
"Dummy! Trapping people in a big maze isn't love!" Gudako retorted, marching right up to the little goddess. "You probably just need some TLC, that's all!" With that, she promptly grabbed Kama in an affectionate embrace!
"HEY! Wh-wh-what do you think you're doing?!" Kama cried in protest, trying to squirm loose. "G-get off!"
"Aww, how sweet," Kiara teased.
"Sh-shut up, you stupid nun!"
"Um, Gudako, I don't think that's a good idea..." Haruhi said as she tried to approach, only for Archetype: Earth to restrain her by the arm.
"Why not? If someone's in a bad mood, you should give them a hug to make them feel better!" Gudako said as she continued to cuddle Kama.
"D-dammit, knock it off! I don't want your sympathy!" Kama cried, her face going red. "Ugh, forget this!" She suddenly vanished, taking Gudako with her!
"NO!" Haruhi tried to lunge forward, only to realize it was futile. "Damn it! Gudako-chan no baka...!"
"Nothing we can do about it now," Kiara shrugged. "Let's focus on the problem ahead of us. What are we going to do about the orgy up ahead?"
"Ugh..." Haruhi took a moment to try and gather her thoughts. "...okay, Kiara, you go take a look first, just in case it's a trap."
"Oh my, using me as a sacrifice? ...oh well, I don't mind," the Alter Ego shrugged with a smile, going on ahead and peeking in the door. "Oh, my... oh yes... (ahem) I mean, there's definitely humans in there, but I also sense some wraiths among them..."
"Is there any way to tell them apart?" Archetype: Earth asked.
"Hmm, it's hard to tell," Kiara said as she stepped back. "But if what that Kama said was true, they're espers, right? Can't you use your power to do something, Master?"
Haruhi blinked as an idea came to her... "Hey, now that you mention it..." She closed her eyes and lifted her hands to her temples, concentrating... (All espers in the room ahead, into closed space!) There was a red flash from the room, the moans suddenly changing to inhuman wails! A few seconds later, several skeletal wraiths emerged from said room, looking quite incensed.
"Well, that did the trick," Kiara chuckled. "Arcueid, was it? Care to assist me here?"
"Very well," Archetype: Earth nodded, holding out her hand, the wraiths suddenly all encased in a glacier! Kiara then pierced said glacier with several demon pillar tentacles, before blasting it to pieces, and wraiths along with it!
"Well, that was easy," Haruhi half-snarked. Not long after, a man appeared in a red flash, sweaty and missing his shirt. "Keichii-san?!"
"Suzumiya-san..." Keichii Tamaru gasped, looking embarrassed. "Y-you have our gratitude for saving us from that orgy... I don't know what came over us...!"
"It's an Evil of Humanity. No surprise you got brainwashed," Haruhi waved him off. "I'll waive the penalty this time, but I need you to do something for me in return..."
"Anything, Suzumiya-san," Keichii nodded.
"Well, I know I've been experiencing quite a few negative emotions, and this is likely only the beginning. So... I'm basically just asking you to do your jobs and deal with the closed spaces I know are forming. But try to leave at least one active, just in case."
"Yes, we can do that," the esper agreed. "But... do you know where Mori-san and Koizumi-san are?"
"Mori-san's upstairs, looking after Director Musik," Haruhi replied. "I haven't seen Koizumi-kun yet, though. But I'll keep my eyes peeled, he's my deputy chief, after all."
"All right. We'll leave it to you then, Suzumiya-san. Just remember to keep calm, no matter what the enemy tries to unbalance you. Good luck," Keichii advised, before warping back to closed space.
"Thanks, I'm probably gonna need it," the reality warper sighed. "Let's get a move on, ladies..."
*On the next floor...*
"Is it just me, or have the enemies been really easy to deal with?" Haruhi mulled as the trio walked down another hallway.
"Well, I am the princess of the True Ancestors, and an Ultimate One," Archetype: Earth noted. "Is it any surprise that mere spirits are no match for me?"
"I haven't exactly been dead weight, either," Kiara spoke up. "But to answer your concern, we're only on the third floor down... it could be Kama is saving the tougher foes for further down..."
"Either that, or we're walking into another trap," Haruhi countered. "Arcueid, don't hesitate to use your Rainbow Eyes if you think something's off..."
"I have been doing just that, Master," Archetype: Earth replied. "But I haven't seen anything out of the ordinary yet..." Emerging into a larger room, the vampire suddenly halted. "I smell something funny... get back, Master! It might be poison gas!"
"Gah!" Haruhi immediately backed up several steps, retreating behind Kiara. "Can you blow it away or something?"
"I can... try..." the Moon Cancer began to raise her hand, only to suddenly become woozy. "What... is this..." She became unsteady on her feet, falling to her knees. Suddenly, the floor beneath her morphed into a shiny black blob, Archetype: Earth beginning to be drawn in! "Oh... this feels... mmmm..."
"Arcueid! Snap out of it!" Haruhi called, only to look on in horror as several chains emerged from the darkness, binding the Ultimate One tightly and pulling her down further! "NO!" she cried, rushing into the room, using her powers to start disintegrating the chains...
But whatever gas was in the room started to affect her as well, her vision becoming unfocused... then several chains began to bind her as well! "Ugh, no..." she tried to break free, but her old bondage fetish from college began to resurface, causing her to smile from the sensation of being bound so tightly, uncaring as she started to be pulled into the darkness as well... "Oh, yes... take me..." Her pleasure was enhanced as her bosom pressed against Archetype: Earth's, the two smiling serenely at each other, uncaring about anything else...
"Oh, are you enjoying being consumed, Haruhi Suzumiya...? Just like the time that you were consumed by me, into my uterus, caressed by hundreds of demon pillars..."
"Demon pillars...? GAHHH!" Haruhi cried, the ground literally erupting around her and Arcueid! The chains and darkness swiftly vanished, the reality warper shuddering in unadulterated disgust! "Dammit, Kiara...! You had to bring THAT memory back?!"
"You're welcome," the former Beast chuckled. "Perhaps we should leave quickly?" She pointed to the stairwell nearby.
"Ugh, yeah, right!" Haruhi grunted, grabbing the still-dazed Archetype: Earth around the torso, dragging her along as fast as she could... (Ugh, can't believe we almost fell for that...!)
*At the bottom...*
"Damn that nun! I almost had Suzumiya that time!" Kama raged. "Who the hell is she, anyway?! Something about her just really pisses me off..." She took a breath to calm herself. "Oh well, at least I recaptured the one Master... good thing she's too stupid for her own good. And that Ritsuka... that bitch goddess may be helping him now, but even she will be powerless if they come all the way down here..." She smiled in anticipation...
*To be continued...*
