Darkandtwistedminds2.0: Thank you for your review! You are spoiling me. Regarding the Stockholm syndrome it kinda made sense to me, since she wasn't allowed to leave and fell in love with him. I wanted to add a bit of realism to the classics and just touch upon it, and also imply that even the good guys can be bad as well. Things like that will be refused later in the story, but there will be other small hints dropped throughout. I am really glad you are enjoying this story and hope you continue to do so.
Descendantslover: I felt so bad writing about Evie being knocked out, but she has been knocked out longer as she had two familiar bonds being completed as well as her magic surging. As for Carlos, he is just terrified of animals and hates them, his mother uses them to hurt him so he has a fear and being so close to a panther was not great for his fear. Jay is an isle boy through and through so can be a bit mean, especially since he knows his girlfriend (Mal) hates Evie. Evie, Uma and Mal all have hatred for each other stemming from their mothers, just show it differently. It will slowly dissipate but for now the three see each other as rivals. I hope that explains it!
Evie burrowed deeper into her pillow, distantly aware of the lack of plushness. Sure, she knew her pillow wasn't soft by Auradon standards but it was softer than this. Groaning, she reached her arm up to make it softer, massaging it in small circles to try and get rid of the firmness. "Stupid pillow, be soft," she muttered sleepily, making her pillow vibrate.
She froze in her ministrations, her mind going into hyper alert. The sleepiness lifted as her senses heightened, making her aware of the faint scent of cinnamon that clung to her pillow. Despite the stiffness of her body, she calmed her mind, sweeping the panic aware so she could rethink clearly. Realistically, if she was hurt Kyra or Tynan would have been defending her with everything they had and this 'pillow' didn't feel like anybody she had woken up against on the Isle. Deciding there was only one way to find out, she used her hand to push off the surface she was laying against and sat up, opening her eyes and blinking back the umbra of sleep that clung to her mind.
"Good sleep?" An amused voice asked, the deepness sending delicious shivers down her spine.
"She should have done, considering she slept on you," she heard a bitter voice mutter.
She blinked the sleep out of her eyes and looked up, seeing the smirking son of Jafar above her. She glanced around him to see a glowering Mal, her eyes smoldering with anger. Figuring out what happened and letting the tension in her muscles drain, Evie sculpted her features into her best sultry expression, hoping wickedly to get a rise out of Mal.
"I think you might be better than my pillow," she purred, leaning against Kyra who had rested her head on the top of her head once Evie awoke.
Jay chuckled and sent her a lopsided grin, his eyes sparkling with unfiltered mischief. "High praise from a princess," he said, his voice somewhere between a laugh and a normal sentence.
She winked before looking up to Kyra, giving her a scratch. "Good morning sweetheart, did you get some rest too?" she cooed, nuzzling into her familiar.
"Sweetheart? She tried to attack me when I tried to make you move your big head off my boyfriend," Mal snorted, glaring at Evie.
Evie raised her eyebrow at the girl but ultimately ignored her, deeming her not worthy of her time.
"I did warn you all," Jana said, rolling her eyes. "Kyra has always been protective, she views Evie as a mother and those strong bonds are even more intense now. Not to mention Tynan," she said, smiling softly when she saw her usually cold friend acting so warmly with her familiars.
"That reminds me, how did I get in the back here?" Evie asked, one hand scratching Kyra and the other stroking Tynan's silky feathers.
"I can splain' that to ye Princess,' 'Harry interjected, making her look at him with a small, barely noticeable smirk on her face.
"By all means Hook, explain away," she said, turning her attention back to Kyra when she sent a cloud of impatience through their bond, along with the image of Evie scratching her.
"When we crossed eh barria', all yer magic user's magic surged and yer pass'd out." Harry explained, and I nodded, trying to understand his thick accent. "Yer cat began freakin' and we stopp'd so she didny destroy eh car. I elp'd ye out and ye calm'd with ye pets. Jana elp'd ye back in eh car, as we didny want er' to destroy eh car to get to ye," Harry explained, and I understood after a few moments of wading through his accent.
"It was good of you both to help me." Evie said with a smile, deliberately avoiding saying thank you. That wasn't the Isle way.
Jana and Harry both waved her off, before the group descended into light conversation. Evie's body still felt heavy, so she rested against Kyra, and played with her bond with them. She found out the way they communicated with her was sending their emotions to her and imagined what they wanted, and she could thank them normally and she assumed they understood. She assumed they could understand when she spoke and that she could probably understand their noises, but she didn't have time to test that yet.
"We are here kids," William called and the conversation stopped.
Tension thickened in the back, making even William feel uncomfortable. He pulled into the gates of the Beudona castle, expertly making his way down the white gravel driveway as the kids looked out at the sentry of trees that bordered the road. None of them said anything until the car came to a stop, and even then the group were tense. Carlos took a deep breath and opened his door, quickly climbing out of the car. Harry followed his lead by quickly getting out, holding his hand out to help Uma out. She shot Evie a rotten glare which the girl returned with a haughty expression, not wasting her time on those below her.
Gil and Jana got out and Mal quickly followed, leaving Jay and Evie. he was just about to slide out when he noticed the tension set in her shoulders, and with a quick glance to make sure Mal was gone, lest she misinterpreted what he was doing, he looked at her.
"Evie, there is no need to worry. We are all a team while we are here, despite my dislike of that," he scrunched his nose up at the word team, making Evie release a bell-like laugh.
"I know, I'm just scared they will try to take Kyra and Tynan from me, or worse, hurt them," she whispered, for once allowing herself to be vulnerable.
Jay smiled at her, placing a hand on her shoulder. "We won't let that happen. Even Mal, who I know you hate and the feeling is mutual won't let that happen okay, so let's get out there and show them what it means to be a VK," He said, his sincere smile turning wicked, drawing a pleased squawk from Othello.
She returned it and nodded, and Jay quickly got out, making a beeline to his frowning girlfriend and wrapping his arms around her from behind. Evie opened the car door and let Kyra and Tynan get out, smirking when she heard the gasps. To make as much drama as possible she dramatically placed one heeled foot out, followed by the other, and got out, pinning them all with her coldest stare. She didn't bother closing the door deciding that was beneath her and sashayed her way over to the group, making Gil move so she could take her place next to Jana, with Kyra in front of her like a protective shield and Tynan perched on her shoulder, glaring at anyone who dared to look at his mistress.
Ben cleared his throat, and stepped forward, drawing 8 disinterested glances. "Welcome to Beudona, we understand your journey here wasn't quite as smooth as we would have liked and we extend our sincerest apologies for any pain and discomfort you have suffered," He said, his voice unwavering despite the scoffs and eye rolls he received.
Evie fished out her nail file and began to file her nails, making a point to show these pompus brats that they didn't impress her. She could see out of the corner of her eyes that Gil, Harry and Uma were chatting amongst themselves, as was Jay and Mal, both wearing matching smirks as Othello pecked Jay's beanie..
Ben cleared his throat once against, desperately hoping to get their attention. Begrudgingly they did, and Evie made sure to keep her face in her most blank expression, knowing it unnerved people. "We weren't expecting a Panther or two birds-" he began only for Evie to step forward with her face like ice. She cocked her hip and folded her arms under her breasts, her eyes narrowing as Kyra pressed against her, snarling at the man who dared upset her mistress.
"The Panther is Kyra, and the Raven in Tynan. These are my familiars. The Parrot is Jay's. You are not getting rid of them from us," she hissed, her body being sheathed in a vivid reddish\blue aura.
Queen Elsa, recognising that the girl's magic was reacting to her temper, stepped forward, pushing Ben behind her and silencing his protest with a frost glare. "I promise you, we won't take them off you, especially if they are your familiars, that bond is sacred. I actually have three spirits that i've bonded with similarly, so you have my word that we won't interfere," she promised, her eyes showing her resolve.
"Forgive me if your promise," Evie spat the word out like it was poisoned, "means nothing to me," she finished, Tynan beginning to flap his wings as he reacted to her mood.
"It may not, but it is the best you have, so take it or leave it," Elsa said, raising an eyebrow at the girl. Honestly, she respected her. She clearly loved the animals and was very protective over them, the same way she felt about her own spirits. Evie eyes her, her eyes narrowing as she searched for any dishonesty. She came up with none and gave Elsa a small nod before stepping back in line.
Ben stepped forward, trying to hide the fact he was rattled. "Regardless of it being your familiar, it is still a panther, a dangerous animal and not fit for this environment-"
This time it was Jasmine who interrupted him, Rajah by her heels. "I'll have you know that big cats make the best companions. You can tell from Kyra's coat that she is well cared for and we are not splitting them up. Right Elsa?" Jasmine said, getting an affirmative nod from the Ice Queen.
"That may be so, but perhaps Cinderella may not want a big cat at her palace," he said, trying to regain control of the situation.
"If that is the case, I would happily let her come stay at my palace, Rajah loves company as does Aziz and Alia's tigers, right boy?" Jasmine said, her voice softening when she turned to her Tiger who growled in agreement.
"That won't be necessary Jasmine, I have no problem with Evie bringing them to our palace, it is clear that Kyra and Tynan are protective over her and as long as she is not threatened I'm sure they will behave, right?" Cinderella said, turning to Evie who nodded.
"Okay then, well as you now know, Evie Grimhilde, you are staying with Cinderella's family in the kingdom of Chartare" Ben said, resigning himself to the fact this wasn't going to go the way he planned, and ignoring the girl's eye roll at his attempt to be formal.
"Uma EelRay, you will be living in the Kingdom of Maldonia with King Naveen and Queen Tiana," Ben said, making Uma scoff and Tiana raise an eyebrow at her behaviour.
"Great, I get to live with frogs," she snarled, rolling her eyes.
Tiana bit her tongue to refrain yourself from calling the girl a sea slug, and just let Ben continue. "Jana Charnelle, you will live with High Queen Elsa, Queen Anna and Queen Consort Kristoff in Arendelle. We figured with your brand of magic it would work well," He said. Elsa smiled softly at the girl, not taking it personally when she rolled her eyes.
"Mal Faythorne, you will be living with Queen Snow and her husband King Florian in Valencia," Ben said, making Evie glare when she heard that stupid name.
"Jay Arvind, you will be going to Corona with Queen Rapunzel and King Eugene," Ben said, making Jay lookup.
"Eugene, you are the dude who was a thief right?" he said, looking at the guy who smirked before letting it dissipate when his wife glared.
"Yes, and I regret my choices immensely," he said, though Jay didn't miss the twinkle of mischief in the former thief's eyes.
"Harry Hook, you will be living with Queen Ariel and King Eric," He just managed to finish the sentence before Uma snapped.
"No way, he is not living with them. They murdered my mother, no way in hell is he staying with that stuck up princess," she roared, her shell gleaming and her eyes taking an oceanic glow.
"We murdered her? She tried to murder Ariel's father first!" Eric snapped, his eyes blazing as he started at Uma, his natural protectiveness of his wife flaring.
"Babe, relax." Ariel soothed, placing a calming hand on her husband and sending calming vibes through their soul etch. "I can handle this," she said, kissing his cheek as she walked up to Uma, her bodyguards running to protect her. She gave them a stern glare and they retreated, though still lingered close by.
"Uma, I am sorry about your mother. If we could have done it another way we would have. I understand you don't like that your partner is staying with us, and I respect your feelings, however we are the best suited to look after him." she said, only to get harsh glare.
"Oh yea? And why is that princess," she snarled, internally hating Ariel's voice- it was everything her mother said it was.
"My husband and I have the largest fleet of all the kingdoms. We figured Harry would enjoy sailing so we offered to house him. Eric was actually planning to take him out for a sail tonight," Ariel explained, internally beaming when she saw the child-like gleam appear in Harry's eyes at the word sailing. "It is only for a week, and we can bring him to come see you in Maldonia if Naveen and Tiana agree," she said, refraining from taking the girl's hands in hers.
"Babe, I'll be okay. It's only for a week and I get to sail in real water. This is a dream come true for me," Harry said begging her with his eyes to drop it. He understood her feelings and he wasn't stoked about going, he was just using them for their boats and he knew that Uma would know that.
Uma sighed, the harshness of her eyes softening when she gazed at Harry. While she loathed this situation with every fiber of her being, and loathed them just as much, she couldn't stand in the way of her boyfriend's happiness. She knew he could look after himself and that he wouldn't let them take him from her; he'd hook them all before they tried. She gave him a small nod and stepped back, but made sure her glare was firmly fixed on her face when she looked back at Ariel.
"Thank you," Ariel whispered, giving both of them a small nod before she walked back to her husband, not wanting to push the girl because she was right, they did kill her mother and it ate at her conscience every day.
"Okay so Gil LeGume, you will be going to Agrabah with Sultana Jasmine and her consort Sultan Aladdin," Ben said, making Jasmine and Aladdin smile amicably at them.
"Where's that?" he asked cluelessly, looking at Uma for guidance.
"It is where we love my guy," Aladdin said, grinning impishly.
"He's not your guy," Jay snapped, glaring daggers at them.
Aladdin's cheerful grin diminished and he nodded, stepping back.
"Last but not least, Carlos De Vil will be staying here in Beudona with my parents and I, King Adam and Queen Belle," Ben said, and Gil immediately perked up.
"Oh that reminds me, Belle my dad says hi and that he misses you," Gil said grinning dopily. Belle gave a strained smile and pushed every shred of calmness she could into her seething husband. Gil turned to Adam and his smile dimmed, "dad wanted to know if Belle had made you into a rug yet, but I guess she hasn't" he sighed, looking down as if it was the biggest tragedy.
Adam was livid, his entire body felt like there was liquid anger surging through his body; his blood transforming into a white rapid river of foaming anger. His beast rattled it's cages, demanding to come out and destroy the brat of his worst enemy. The only thing calming him was the vibes his wife sent him, making his temper stay mostly in check.
Ben noticed his dad's temper flaring, his own beast desperate to join. Trying to turn his attention back on the matter at hand, he gave them all his best fake smile, internally praying to the roses that this would end soon. "Okay that is all, your majesties please feel free to come pick up your wards," he said, and immediately everyone moved.
Ella made a beeline to Evie, her hand wrapped around her husband's arm. Jasmine and Aladdin walked over to Gil, Rajah loyally at her heels. It didn't escape her notice that the cat kept glancing at Kyra, curiosity radiating from his eyes. Jasmine leant over and scratched him behind the ear. "If we have time, we can go over and see if Evie will let us meet Kyra, okay boy?" she cooed, making the big cat purr louder.
Ariel and Eric had made their way over to Harry Hook, who had thankfully said his goodbyes to Uma before she sauntered over to Tiana. "Let us know when you are ready to go, the sooner we get out of here the sooner we can get on the sea!" Eric cheered, his eyes glimmering at the thought of being on his second love.
Ariel smiled fondly at him but didn't disagree. Guilt clawed at her heart when she remembered she was heading out for a bit to go to Atlantica, her second mate waiting patiently for her below the waves. At least the two kingdoms were close to one another, making the distance easy to traverse. She also missed Flounder, the elderly fish who is one of her best friends and his son fletcher. Not to mention her killer whale Spot and Sabastian… oh who was she kidding she missed everyone.
Carlos was conversing with the King and Queen of Beudona, all the while glancing around shiftily for any extra animals. The ones present put him on edge enough, he didn't need any more. Queen Anna was trying to get Jana to talk to her, but the Daughter of Jadis was stubbornly refusing. The Sultana had made her way over to Evie and Cinderella, and after checking with Evie, who made sure it was okay with Kyra, the Panther and Tiger were chatting away in a series of miniature roars, while Evie iggled, being able to understand what her big cat said.
Gradually the groups dispersed, getting into their individual limos. Mal gave Jay a hig before following Snow white and Florian, internally thanking all that is bad that she wasn't stuck with Sleeping Beauty and her kin.
Once each group was in their Limo, except for the Alarie's- the Royal Family of Beudona- they took off, the Villain kids silently cursing their luck for being there, and their caretakers desperately praying they made the right call.
I hope you all liked this chapter! Not a lot of action, but hopefully next time there will be. The next chapter will pretty much be about their week with the royals, and the one after that will be them going to the school and being able to put their plan into action. I made up the last names of a lot of them, considering the villains were not given one except for Carlos really.
I wanted to show that sure, the heroes are the good guys, but at the end of the day, a lot of them did murder the kids parents. Hence why Uma wasn't exactly stoked with Harry going to live at Ariel's. I want to show that there is a spectrum of good and evil, and just because you pledge to one side, doesn't mean you will always act that way.
Also, I freaking adored the scenes with Jay and Evie, so damn cute. I'll update again soon, most likely tomorrow or even today as it is the weekend and I have free time.
Until next time!
TBH
