At the end of the night they ended up sprawled on the linoleum floor, eating cookies and drinking soda. Kairi had pried Cloud's shoes off and was playing 'This Little Piggy' with his toes, much to the blonde's chagrin, and Demyx was idly plucking strings on his sitar.
It was typical Friday-night behavior of the unlikely trio.
The television was on, as was the radio and the computer... all making their respective racket. It kind of annoyed Cloud, but Kairi and Demyx didn't really mind. The girl cheerily continued playing piggy with Cloud's toes, waiting until he wasn't paying attention to sneak the brightly-colored polishes from behind her back.
A small mountain of books and empty soda cans had collected around Cloud, a sign of just how long he'd been sitting there uselessly on the kitchen floor. It didn't really register with Cloud, when he saw Kairi brandishing a small vial of shiny pink liquid, exactly what the girl was planning. It was late, or early, and Cloud was half-asleep with a piece of chocolate-chip cookie hanging out of his mouth.
By the time Cloud's toenails were all a bright, iridescent pink, the man was already asleep.
Kairi turned to Demyx, smirking, and Demyx gingerly placed his sitar on the floor next to him and scooted across the kitchen to sit next to the girl. He picked up a can of soda that was half-full, not really caring whether it was Cloud's or Kairi's, and took a long swig. It was warm and made his teeth squeak, but he ignored it.
They both dove into the nail polishes with feral grins on their faces, Demyx extracting a permanent marker from his pocket as well.
Cloud woke up the next morning, still on the kitchen floor. Kairi had managed during the night to make it to her futon, and Demyx was asleep in a dining chair, his head resting on the small kitchen table.
He stretched and got up and started breakfast, oblivious to the fact that his left and right cheek read "Cloud Loves Kairi" and "Cloud Loves Demyx", respectively, and that his fingernails and toenails were a wonderfully charming shade of sugary pink.

Notes: This was a spur-of-the-moment kind of thing... I just really felt like writing something short and simple like this, so I'm sorry for it's not-so-goodness. ;; Although, I personally kind of like it... But that's just me. x3 Thanks for reading!
