Caracalla, the Wilys, Lion-O and Tygra
Caracalla and the Wilys
To say that Caracalla often had a chance to play with other children would be untrue. His father had often expected him to help on the farm and on the odd occasion that they did go into town, the Young Caracal had been expected to stay close to his paterfamilias at all times. Cheetara may have encouraged him to play with the Wilys, but the fact was that he had little understanding of what to do. He would just stand to the side, until Kat took notice of a candy fruit tree.
Climbing up the tree, Kat tossed a candy fruit down to his sister, who caught it with relative ease. Alas, the same could not be said for Caracalla, for the candy fruit that Kat had tossed to him hit him square in the forehead.
To say that it hurt would be an understatement. Taking a few steps back and rubbing the bump on his head, Caracalla looked up at a grimacing Kat while Wide-Eyed Kit had her mouth covered with a free hand.
"Are you okay, Caracalla?" asked Kat.
Sighing, Caracalla replied: "Yeah." Taking a bite of his candy fruit, the Caracal immediately spat it out. "Its sour!"
Upon hearing this, Kit immediately dropped her candy fruit. She was not going to take chances. Being of the same mind, Kat put his own down. He supposed it was better to go without a snack than to know what a sour candy fruit tasted like.
Walking away, Caracalla spied a creature of some sort approaching. Whatever was it?
Lion-O and Tygra
As much as Tygra could have wished that he had been the one to wield the Sword of Omens, when it ultimately came down it, he was happy he was not. Besides having already been a temporary Lord of the ThunderCats, Tygra found his whip and pistol to be of better use to him than the Sword of Omens ever could have been. Likewise, Lion-O found a sword as more use to him than a whip or pistol possibly could have.
Thus, did the two have their debate, sitting upon two tree stumps.
"The sword is a symbol of chivalry and heroism, not to mention the Sword of Omens has been in our family since the time of Leo." Began Lion-O, holding aloft his ancestral weapon. "And with the Eye of Thundera, it is a rather unique weapon."
"Yes, unique, one of a kind, not another like it." Noted Tygra. "But the sword is a stiff weapon, while the whip is much more flexible and the pistol allows you to attack an enemy from a distance. As good as the sword is, the fact is that if I had a sword too, I would not have been able to save myself from a nasty fall or hit an enemy that has had me pinned down."
"If I want to save myself from a bad fall, I'll just use the gauntlet and if I am pinned down, I'll just throw the Sword."
"And then you'll be without a weapon, little brother."
To say that Lion-O could do naught but concede his elder adoptive brother correct, would be an understatement. Scratching the back of his neck, he wondered where to go from here. There had to be a point that the sword had above the whip and pistol, but what could it have been? It was at that moment that such a point did come to his mind, an excellent point indeed.
