Now it's time for Ash's training to starting, now as I said, Ash will catch more Pokémon, but not time many more. In addition to Eevee, Ash will catch a total of 11 Pokémon. I'm sure you'll guess which one he catches in this chapter. After this we'll spend a few chapters with Ash training, then make are way over to the Indigo League. I think I use 7 chapters for Ash training and catching new Pokémon, maybe more. However, most of these Pokémon are going to be in their 2nd stage.

PokemonDBZFan10000: Glad you agreed with the ideas for Primeape, and Dragonite.

Guest: What you say make a lot of say, but I'm giving Ash 18 Pokémon in total at least until till after the Indigo League. I'll do my best to develop these new Pokémon as best as I can. However, while feel your agreement for Lance, and Cynthia falls a little. As we've only seen two of their anime Pokémon. As for Paul we know he has more than six, but we really only know Electivire, and Torterra.

Reader: Glad you're enjoying the story so far. Eevee already join in the end of the last chapter, and you're right about Zeraora. As for Fearow, I'll have him catch it, but not until after the Indigo League. Your suggestion for Primeape is interesting, for one I doubt Primeape will be finished with its training, but by using what they did with Charizard would work. I like the moves you suggested, as those and several others I was planning on. As for Ash trading his Tauros, he will receive some through before the league but most will be traded through Johto and will include Pokémon from other regions.

Now as for will Ash gain back Haunter, or catch Gengar, after thinking about it. I've decided on which of the two he will get. I decided he will receive the Gengar from Pokémon Journeys, as there are plenty of stories of Ash catching Haunter.

It had been a few hours since his Pokémon had been taken in too recovery, according to Prof. Oak I wouldn't too much long. He had let his new Eevee, outside so Bulbasaur and Pidgeotto can show her around the Coral. He also asked for Bulbasaur to bring his over his Tauros, Krabby, and Muk over when done. Right now there was someone who he wanted to talk to.

"Prof. Oak can I talk to you?" Ash called, the old professor.

"Why certainly, have a seat my boy." Oak, said sitting down.

"Now what you can I do for you?" He asked the young trainer.

"Well you see, I was wonder, if you can tell what I should do to become a better trainer?" Ash asked, however, he face the ground and was twiddling with his thumbs.

To say the professor was shocked was an understatement, and he couldn't wonder what brought this on. But as he thought about, today's events might have changed Ash perception.

"Is it because of what happen today?" He asked wanting to make sure.

Looking up at the professor, Ash nodded. Sighing, Samuel stood up, as he placed a hand on the young trainer.

"Listen, you're a fine young trainer, what happen today is not something everyone could prepare for, and you shouldn't beat yourself down because of it." Prof. Oak said, causing Ash to smile a bit.

"Now can give you some points to give you a better chance to succeed at the Indigo League." Oak continued, causing Ash to look at he with a serious expression.

"One you should diversify your Pokémon's attacks." Oak began.

"What do you mean Professor?" Ash asked.

Walking over to his books, he grabbed one towards the top self.

"You see Pokémon can learn all types of moves, even moves not of their typing. For example, did you know your Pikachu can learn Iron Tail." He informed the young trainer.

"Iron Tail, what's that?" Ash asked.

"It's a steel type attack, in the recent years' steel, dark, and fairy types have been discovered." Prof. Oak explained surprising Ash.

"Now your Pikachu mainly use its electrical attack along with normal types of moves. But it can also use steel, ground, water, grass, and fighting moves as well." Professor continue. "For a trainer it's important for to give your Pokémon a wide variety of moves to deal with different situation. Also may want to invest in moves to give your Pokémon more defensive options."

Hearing this Ash took this into considerate, teach them new move sounded good. It certainly would've helped them in the past. Then he noticed Prof. Oak handing him a book.

"You can use the Pokédex to look up what moves to your Pokémon can learn, and that book will he you teach them it." Prof. Oak said.

Ash looked in awe, "Thank you, sir." Ash replied.

"I know you have potential my boy, make sure you use it well. Now my other advice would be, you may want to catch a few more Pokémon. Now I'm not saying to capture over a hundred Pokémon like Gary did. But you many want to catch a few more Pokémon, so you have a good variety for the League. Also let say a few of your Pokémon get injured or sick, this way you also have options case you can't use your original choice." Oak explained.

Taking all this into to account, Ash stood up now more determined than ever. "Thank you Prof. Oak, I promise to make you proud." Ash stated.

"You already have, my boy." Prof. Oak said.

After his conversation with Oak, he followed through with his advice and began looking up new moves for his Pokémon to learn. He began writing them down in order to make sure he wouldn't forget. So far you he came up with 5 attacks for each of his current Pokémon to learn. First, he was Going to have Pikachu, Pidgeotto, and Eevee work together to learn Double Team. This would help them with their defense. Next Eevee, and Pikachu would work on Iron Tail, and Dig this would help them deal with rock types. As for Pikachu last two moves would be Grass Knot, and Surf. He would need Brock and Misty help though. Eevee's current attacks were Swift, Shadow Ball, Quick Attack, and Helping Hand. So in addition to Double Team Dig, and Iron Tail, she would also work on Bite, and Take Down. Next Pidgeotto would be a move similar to Iron Tail, which was Steel Wing. Alongside Steel Wing and Double Team, he was planning to teach her, Aerial Ace, Twister, and Roost. For Bulbasaur he was planning Sludge Bomb, Synthesis, Weather Ball, Light Screen, and Poison Powder. While looking up attacks he remembered Squirtle used a new attack, looking it up, it turned out he learned Aqua Tail. Now Squirtle had plenty of water moves so he decided on Protect, Ice Beam, Dig, Bite, and Rapid Spin.

Next came Charizard, he really to find a way to break through to Charizard. With Charizard's fire power, not doubt they would get far into the league. But what if he couldn't get through to Charizard in time. He didn't come how long it would take, he would get through to Charizard no matter how long it would take. Still maybe he should catch another Fire Type just in case. Shaking his head, he needed to focus. For Krabby he was planning to team him up with Squirtle to learn Protect, along with Dig, and the last three would be Metal Claw, Mud Shot, and Bubble Beam. For Muk, since he knew Sludge Bomb, he would have him teach Bulbasaur how to use it. Then he'll have him learn Shadow Ball, Sludge Wave, Focus Punch, Rock Tomb, and to finish it he would have Pikachu teach him Thunderbolt. While was looking through his Tauros's move he realized his Tauros knew Double Team. This was good since He could have him teach Pikachu, Eevee and Pidgeotto it. Then he'll work on Earthquake, Zen Headbutt, Iron Tail, Payback, and Hyper Beam.

Now that he decided on the moves, it was time to get the rest of his Pokémon. After retrieving them, he brought them out of their Pokéballs. Once out, Ash gave them a look over, he had asked Prof. Oak if them would be okay to train, and he basic they would be fit to learn new moves. Okay outside the Pokémon looked at their trainer with curiosity, they didn't know what but they could tell there was something different about him.

"Okay, we got two months to prepare for the Indigo League, so I'm going to teach you guys new moves." Ash explained. This certainly got their attention, this was new. They all listen to their trainer closely surprisingly even Charizard was listening closely.

"All first I want you to meet our new member Eevee, who stopped Team Rocket from taking you guys." Ash said, as Eevee hoped onto his shoulder.

"Eevee!" She exclaimed happily. All the Pokémon excepted Charizard greeted the new addition to the team.

"Well first several of you with be work on moves together, so first Tauros, Eevee, Pidgeotto, and Pikachu I want you three to get into one group." Ash began.

The three gathered as Ash explained the three would be working on Double Team together. After explaining to them how the move is done, he then showed them an example using the Pokédex. While most who used Double Team for defense, it's said Pokémon who mastered the move could also attack with their duplicates. Since his Tauros knew the move he asked him to help them learn the move before coming back to him once he had a hang of it. The group left looking for a spot to train at. Next he asked Muk to teach Bulbasaur how to use Sludge Bomb, and then return to him, once Bulbasaur got a hang of it. For Squirtle he decided it was best for him to master Aqua Tail before learning a new move. Every Pokémon except for Charizard went off to practice, as Charizard stood around patently. Finally turning around Ash looked at arguably his strongest Pokémon. Guess now was a better time than ever to talk to him.

"What happen to you?" Ash asked, not staring at the fire/flying type. "You always use to listen to me as a Charmander."

Charizard stood still listen to his trainer, not sure what to do. "When you evolved into Charmeleon, I was so happy for you even more so when you evolved into Charizard. Because I knew you wanted to get stronger."

At this point tears were starting to come out, Ash just wanted for things to be like they use to be. Being able to bond, battle, and train alongside Charizard is all he really wanted. "Remember when we first met you were a Charmander that had been abounded by your trainer because he considered you weak." Hearing those Charizard's eyes narrowed, remember those awful.

"But I never saw you as weak, and as he traveled together you continued to grow stronger until you became the Charizard you are today." Ash continued, as Charizard wondered were Ash going with this. "I remember hearing that Pokémon acted like their trainers, and that is correct. Only you're not acting like me, no you're acting like your old trainer Damien!" Ash shouted, with a glare in his eyes and tears rolling down his face.

Charizard roared in anger, as hated being compared to his old trainer. He even went as far as to launch a Flamethrower at Ash. Ash simply leaped out of the way, before continue. "Think about it, you refuse to work with anything on who you think is beneath you. You think thing you're strong by yourself, and you refuse to acknowledge those who helped you get you to where you're at. Thing only thing you've shown you've learned from me, is you lash out in anger, and go into a situation head first without thinking."

Ash now began looking closer to Charizard and place a hand on his side. Charizard stopped growling and was intently looking Ash. "Despite that, I have no regret saving your life, I would rather you disobey then to have risk you dyeing back then. But despite that is it worth it, it worth turning your back on me, turning your back on your friends. I'll won't stop until I earn your respect. Even if it takes me past the Indigo League. Remember I promised you that I would get all of us to the Indigo League to battle strong opponents. But if you're going to keep disobeying me then I have no choice but to leave you out of it. Is it worth missing out on that, fighting the strongest trainers in Kanto. I'll never give up on you, but if I do, then I'll let Damien win. The choice is yours, be like Damien or be better." Ash finished up leaving to check on the progress on their other teammates.

Charizard stood there in shock, not sure what to do. As he watched Ash walk away, Charizard began reflecting on what Ash said. Was he acting like his old trainer? For the first time, Charizard began reflecting on his actions. Ash wasn't the perfect trainer, but even he couldn't deny the love Ash had for his Pokémon any Pokémon. He remembered that night when they first met, and after how just as he was about to perish, Ash had made sure he would make it to see another day. Then the time they got stuck on the mountain, he attempted to return him to keep from overheating himself. Ash would have rather perished than let either him or any of his Pokémon die. He even respected both Bulbasaur's and Pikachu's decision on not evolving. As Ash disappeared out of sight Charizard clench his fist. Ash was right, he was acting like Damien well no more. He knew today events changed his trainer for the better. But he wouldn't the only one. Now filled with new determination to not only redeem himself, but to get stronger and better himself with his trainer. Charizard then took off to catch up to his trainer.

As Ash returned to watch his Pokémon practice on their new moves he felt a thud behind him. Looking behind him he saw Charizard, who was looking at him with shame in his eyes. It looked as if he was saying sorry.

"Charizard, do you want to train and battle with me again?" Ash asked in disbelief.

Charizard nodded as it let out a massive roar, while it unleashed a torrent of flame towards the sky. Ash smiled as he let out laugh, and hugged his friend, and for first since he since evolved, Charizard hugged him back.

"Well since your up for training, I have a few ideas on what moves you can learn. How does Dragon Claw sound?" Ash asked. Charizard nodded, already pumped on learning the Dragon Type move.

As Ash explained the move he didn't notice he watch being watch by Zeraora. Who had recovered from most of his injuries. While he was well enough to leave Prof. Oak decided to allow Zeraora to relax outside. Zeraora noticed they young trainer talking to his Charizard, and it was impressed. He could tell that Charizard was young, and already quite powerful. He could tell the rest of the boy's Pokémon also had great potential. He what impressed him most, was the bond he had with them. Zeraora then climbed us a tree in order to rest, but as he closed his eyes, he couldn't help but watch the young trainer continue to train his Pokémon.

A few hours have passed since Ash began training his Pokémon, and it was now getting dark. Misty and Brock dropped by and were shocked by what they saw. Ash was having a battle with a Pokémon they have never seen, but what was more shocking was Ash was using Charizard to battle it. They watch as the new Pokémon gracefully avoid Charizard's attacks, however Charizard was listening to every command Ash gave. They continued to watch as the mysterious Pokémon counter attack, as electricity cackled around its fist. All the while Ash's other Pokémon where cheering on the battle. They also notice an Eevee among the group. When did Ash get an Eevee? They wondered. They all noticed the Professor watching the battle.

As the mysterious came closer to Charizard, Charizard countered as its claws were coated in green energy and it slashed back. The two attacks cancel each other out, Ash as told Charizard to fire a point black Flamethrower. The Pokémon fell towards the ground, before it twisted its body and landed on its feet. The Pokémon grinned as it nodded its head. Smiling Ash called back Charizard who returned to the ground. Smiling Ash took out a different looking Pokéball. It was mostly red, with two black bands around the middle. Ash tossed Pokéball at the mysterious Pokémon, as it connected the Pokéball shook for a second before giving a ping confirming capture. All the Pokémon cheered as Ash ran to collect his new team member as he released him from his Pokéballs. Prof. Oak smiled proudly at the trainer standing before him, as Misty and Brock ran up to him wanting to ask several questions.

Ash laughed as they began throwing so many questions at him, but he promised to answer their questions during dinner as he noticed that it was getting dark, and he and his Pokémon were getting hungry. So they called over Ash's mom over to Prof. Oak's for dinner so she could meet Ash's new Pokémon. And as everyone and the Pokémon ate Ash told them the tale of what happen earlier that day.

So earlier in the review I said I would be giving Ash 18 new Pokémon, but said he would catch 11. The other 7 will come from trading his Tauros. Now before you guys make a suggestion just let you know I already have the seven Pokémon already lined up, 1 for every region this Ash has yet to travel through. I hope you enjoyed this new chapter.
