RKF22: Glad you enjoyed it.
Reader: Defiantly, plus Ash could have used Primeape in a similar fashion to Charizard.
This is the last chapter in Pallet Town, next will be the tournament.
"Pikachu, let try it one more time." Ash calmly said.
"Pikachu." Pikachu replied while nodding.
Pikachu was currently standing in a pond, closing his eyes he focusing channeling his energy.
"Use Surf." Ash ordered.
Pikachu's eyes glowed blue as a large wave of water erupted with Pikachu standing on top. Pikachu guided the wave forwards, cheering as he was riding it with ease. Suddenly Pikachu lost his focus, and lost balance as he fell off and was heading towards the ground. Pikachu braced for impact, only for Ash to catch him in his arms.
"That was close, you okay Pikachu?" Ash asked his partner.
"I'd say that enough practicing for today, what do you guys think?" Ash stated looking at Misty, and Brock.
"Yah, that last Surf, was really good." Brock replied agreeing.
"Just a few more tries, and Pikachu with perfect the attack." Misty added.
After Primeape join the team, Ash was pump for training. Once the two-day rest was over the team got back to work. With Primeape easily the happiest, being back and training. Ash asked Primeape to help when teaching fight type moves. Primeape was more than happy to, in fact he managed to teach several of his Pokémon Focus Punch. Rhydon was a great addition while he wasn't most sociable Pokémon, preferring to be on its own much like Charizard. Brock explain that male Rhydon usually solidary Pokémon in the wild, so it will take some for him to warm up to other.
That beings said, Rhydon still followed commands, and behaved. Occasionally Dreepy would flew around Rhydon trying to catch his attention. Some of the other young Pokémon would try to catch its attention to variety degrees of success. Sneasel attempted to pull a prank on it, only for Rhydon to move to a different location. Sneasel grow frustrated but decided to give up trying to prank Rhydon.
The tournament in Viridian City would take place in a few days. He was planning on using his newer Pokémon. Misty though it was mistake, but Ash countered saying he needed to get use to battling with them before the league. For now, they were putting the finishing touch on Surf. The group then decided to check on the progress of the other Pokémon. It didn't take that long as they found Dusclops teaching Charizard and Rhydon Thunder Punch, he has managed to teach Dragonite already. They were practicing their attacks on rocks at the moment. Charizard and Rhydon were leaving large dents in the boulders. Charizard was differently going to be in the tournament, they needed to get used to working with each other again.
Moving on to the next green Bulbasaur was currently working on Energy Ball. Currently he could form but was struggling to fire this. Chespin was joining in, he had learned Rollout out a few days ago and wanted to work with Bulbasaur. The Seed Pokémon didn't mind, if anything he seemed to enjoy mentoring Chespin. Over on another part of the ranch, Squirtle was working on Gyro Ball, while Krabby practice Rock Throw. It tossed several rocks over as Squirtle would spin channeling energy around its shell into a blade and slice the boulders in has.
Ash observed them for a few minutes later, and then moved on. Sandslash, Scyther, Sneasel, and Pawniard were slashing boulder working on their strikes. Scyther had managed to unlock Night Slash thanks to Sandslash. Not too far from them Pidgeot and Dragonite were battling in the sky, working on their aerial skills. They two became fast friends, and both seemed to enjoy caring for the younger Pokémon. However, Dragonite would often underestimate her strength when giving hugs. Zeraora was by himself working on Wild Charge, he tore through the grounds a struck rocks and trees.
Tauros shook the earth they practice Earthquake. Thankfully at the further anyway as not to disrupted the neighbors. Eevee, Dreepy and Cranidos were grouped together. Cranidos would try to use Headbutt, while Dreepy practiced Quick Attack. The two would try to hit Eevee would did its best to dodge the two.
Overall training was going well; he had talked to Prof. Oak asking is he was willing to let Dragonite train with his own. Prof. Oak had problem but the decision would be up to Dragonite. He also asked the same about Charizard, the Prof. Oak seemed to hesitate. He stated he would be there to see, but warned that if Charizard didn't want to, there was nothing he could do. When Ash asked why was the Prof. Oak coming, Oak merely stated the Charizard were territorial. So his Charizard may not tolerate another, else one who had arrogance and showed no respect. Ash could only sweat drop, he knew that if he had asked Prof. Oak to help train his Charizard a month or two ago, Charizard would have been pulverized.
After that the two made plans for tomorrow training session with Charizard, and Dragonite made, Ash went to go feed his Pokémon dinner.
(The Next Day)
After a good breakfast, Ash went to the lab to feed his Pokémon. Once his team was fed, he let them digest their food before training. Once it was time he split them up, excepted for Dragonite and Charizard. Prof. Oak, Ash, Misty, and Brock went on for the special training, when Misty, and Brock hear that the Professor also had a Dragonite, they were partially begging to see it.
The professor leads them to a part of a coral that rest above several cliffs. Everyone stood still waiting, then strong gust of wind blew at them. It took everything Ash and Misty had in order to not go flying, while holding on to Pikachu and Togepi. A loud thumb come from behind them. Turning around they saw they saw the massive Dragonite, Ash's Dragonite stood at the average height being just over 7 feet. But Oak's Dragonite towered over it, by at least 3ft. Brock and Misty were in awe, at the sight of the massive dragon. Ash was too, no matter how many times he has seen it he was always in awe. Dragonite was too, but Charizard was in stock, he could tell the Dragonite was out of its league. Its power practically radiated off of it, and just looking at it he knew he didn't want to make it mad.
If anything this show him what a fool he had been before Ash, and him had a talk. Once he evolved he thought he was unstoppable, but he got his ass handed to him by that Cofagrigus, just over two weeks ago, he found out the hard way he wasn't invisible. Looking at the Dragonite he knew he would've challenge him over a month ago, but now he knew better.
"It's good to again Dragonite." Ash greeted.
Dragonite nodded, and lowered him head to allow to him in on the head. Misty also joined in marveling at the dragon.
"Dragonite, I was wondering if you were wondering if you were willing to train my Dragonite? We'll be competing in the Indigo League, and I know she could learn a lot from you." Ash asked.
Dragonite cocked it head to look at Ash's Dragonite, it looked intrigued from a minute it had been a long time since it had seen and member of its own kind. Before I could answer, Ash's Dragonite suddenly brought in a hug. The Professor's Dragonite didn't react right away, until suddenly pushed the other one off. It then looked at Ash for a moment only to receive, "Sorry she's a hugger." Dragonite seem amused before looking back to Ash's Dragonite. He then turned back to Ash and nodded causing Oak to smile.
"Dragonite has agreed to your request." Prof. Oak reviled.
"Really that's great, thanks Dragonite." Ash thanked, he then turned to his own Dragonite.
"Dragonite, you will be training with Prof. Oak Dragonite today, I want you to do as he says for today, okay?" Ash explained.
Dragonite nodded and the two flew off, leaving the Dragonite's to train, the group went to the next location. This time they were waiting on an open field, when then heard a loud roar. Landing in front of them, was an enormous Charizard the towered over Ash's. The Professor's Charizard stood as tall as Dragonite easily doubled of Ash's Charizard. Everyone could feel the heat radiation from the lizard, like before it allowed Ash to pat its head. Ash noticed a scowl on the Charizard face. He remembered Oak saying Charizard were territorial. According from Brock there was only one place where you can find a group living together. Even then there was a pecking order.
Prof. Oak's Charizard then stood in front of Ash's and looked down on him, as if sizing him up. Ash's Charizard growled, and he growled at Prof. Oak's who bared his fangs, and growled. Ash's armed tensed a he was readied Charizard's Pokéball, ready to return him. However, Prof. Oak held his armed causing Ash to look at him.
"Not yet, let's where this goes." Prof. Oak stated.
Ash was confused but nodding, he couldn't help but wondered the Professor saw something he didn't. Suddenly Ash's Charizard lowered its head, in a nodded or respect. The Professor's Charizard stopped growling, and looked at Oak letting out a low rumble. Oak then let a sigh of relief.
"He has accepted your request." Prof. Oak stated.
"Thank you Charizard, I know with your help, we win the Indigo League." Ash thanked.
Prof. Oak warned the Charizard's training can be seen as very brutal but that is the way they train. Ash grew concern but nodded, hoping Charizard wouldn't be to injured. The two Charizard took off, as everyone left to give them some space. With that done the went inside to look at the tournament rules. According to the rules there will be four battles, with each trainer allowed 3 Pokémon each. Looking over his group of Pokémon, he made the choices on who he would take for the first. Next he began planning the next set of moves for everyone. With the Indigo just over a month away they need to squeeze as much training as they could get within the next 3 weeks. That leaves them with about a week for training in Cerulean Gym, and one week for they Pewter Gym.
The Pokémon he would training in Misty's gym would be Pikachu, Eevee, Pidgeot, Dragonite, Squirtle, and Kingler. This group would benefit the most from training on a water field. While in Brock's gym the group would be Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Rhydon, Primeape, and Sandslash. Once he had everything set, the group decided to see the progress of everyone's training. As he observed him Pokémon, he smiled seeing them giving it his all, no way they were going to lose giving it their all.
Once Ash, Misty and Brock arrived to where they left Dragonite, they waited a bit as they watch to large shapes coming at them. Once they landed, Ash's Dragonite collapsed as it took in deep breaths. She had a few scraps, and dust covering her, but overall she was fine.
"Are you okay girl?" Ash asked concerned.
She only nodded, still catch her breath, and Ash shifted his attention to Prof. Oak's Dragonite.
"How did she do?" Ash asked.
Dragonite let out a few cries before nodded.
"Guess she did well?" He asked, receiving a nod, before Dragonite took off after waving goodbye.
Ash smiled looking back at his Dragonite, and hugged her, stating he was proud off her. She tiredly hugged him, and she let out, a few cried of joy. Ash returned her, in order to let her rest, they then when to where took off from and waited. It didn't take lot, as Charizard landed on the ground with a thud, as he sucked in deep breaths of air. Charizard had several bruises, and burn marks. Several large scratches could be seen, and dirt patches. Ash held back a shout, remember that Charizard prefer to train this way. Kneeling in front of his friend he looked into Charizard's eyes, and asked, "How are you feeling?"
Growling, Charizard weakly gave Ash a thumbs, before feeling asleep. Brock went to check over the sleeping lizard, while Ash looked over the other Charizard.
"How did he do?" He asked.
Charizard snorted before nodding, he then turned around, only to give a glance at his sleeping student. Smiling Ash took that as his way of saying he did well. Once Brock stated he needed some of rest Ash returned him. With that done he returned his other Pokémon allowing them to rest. Ash to went home to rest, and the next day decided to test Krabby's growth with Brock, Misty stood as referee.
Brock brought out Geodude to battle Krabby.
"Begin." Misty announced.
"Krabby Bubble Beam." Ash began.
"Geodude Dig." Brock countered.
Geodude spun as it burrowed into the ground, grinning Ash quickly retaliated.
"Water Gun into the hole." Ash replied.
"Kookie." Krabby mutter shooting water in the hole Geodude dug.
Geodude, was forced to the surface from the attack, used the opportunity Ash told Krabby to use Crabhammer. Krabby's left arm glowed before smashing it on to Geodude. Geodude dude groaned in pain, as Brock called out as Seismic Toss. Geodude launched towards Krabby, only for Krabby to counter with Bubble Beam. Geodude fell back in pain, Ash the called for a Metal Claw. Krabby's left claw glowed with a metallic gleam. While he would have loved to focus on winning the battle was to continue working on their team work, and see the progress on its moves.
Geodude avoided the Metal Claw with another Dig. Ash then called for another Water Gun. A few seconds later Geodude burst through the ground, as it was spinning. Everyone was stunned at was they saw.
"Geodude you learned Rollout, that's great." Brock stated proudly.
Ash and Misty smiled too, seeing Geodude's surprised. However, Ash still was planning to go easy, "Krabby Harden." Ash decided to increase Krabby's defense.
"Geodude use Rollout." Brock called out.
"Geo!" Geodude cried out, as it began rolls with incredible speeds towards Krabby. As Geodude neared Ash called out, "Protect."
Krabby created a green barrier caused Geodude to bounced off of it. With his opportunity Krabby struck Geodude with another Bubble Beam.
"Krabby Brick Break." Ash continued.
Krabby's arm glowed as it slams its left claw on to Geodude. Geodude cried out in pain as it flew back. Ash then told Krabby to finish it with Ice Beam. Krabby fired a beam of freezing cold energy that encased Geodude in a layer of ice. Geodude fell down and shattered the ice encasing it. Geodude eyes were in swirls signaling it could no longer to continued.
"Geodude is unable to battle Krabby wins." Misty announced pointing towards Krabby.
Both Brock and Ash went up to congratulate their Pokémon. Brock treated Geodude while thanking him for his hard work, and congratulating it for learning Rollout.
"Way to go Krabby." Ash cheering, praising the little crab.
"Kookie Kookie." Krabby said, before glowing.
Krabby grew larger, it legs grew longer, and the left claw bigger. A powerful Kingler appeared, as it grunted it name.
"Krabby evolved." Misty stated shocked.
Pulling out his Pokédex he scanned his new Kingler.
Kingler, the Pincer Pokémon, and the evolved form of Krabby. Its claws can pinch with the power of 10,000 horse power. Upon evolution Kingler has learn the move Hammer Arm, and has unlocked its egg move Ancient Power.
"Wow, your awesome Kingler." Ash praised Kingler who cheerfully celebrated.
"Congratulation Kingler." Misty stated.
"Great job." Brock added.
To celebrate Kingler evolving they had another battle, this time against Onix, but the battle ending in Kingler's victory. After another couple of days of training, the group left in order to Ash to enter the tournament in Viridian City.
