Reader: Glad you enjoyed the reunion. I agree on Corphish and Bulbasaur being workhorses. Part of my problem for some of Ash's Pokémon who don't evolve is they don't have that with them. Like Oshawott and Snivy even though I like them they couldn't carry the two like Bulbasaur and Corphish could. Bulbasaur took down Jackson's Magneton, and Meganium or Brandon's Dusclops, and tied with Solrock. Snivy to my memory biggest win was against Clay's Palpitoad. Corphish also had big wins with against Tucker's and Anabel's Pokémon. Oshawott biggest win the I remember was against Clay's Krokorok. And it's not their fault, but the writers simply failed to give good wins to showcase their strength.
If a Pokémon isn't going to evolve then it needs to be given Bulbasaur's and Corphish's treatment like Dawn's Piplup.

JAUNE117: I'm planning to give Misty and Brock more development. He will get the missing starters from his collection. Parings will come later on not sure when. Goh goal wasn't really suit for a single series since they have to shoehorn in every Pokémon, and choose which ones to ignore. I'm not sure if I'll do Journey though. Ash for Mega Stones and Z-Crystal. He will get a lot of mega just not everyone, and same with z-crystals.
After a good night rest Ash went to the haunted mansion after breakfast in order to see if he could locate Gengar. Although he could sense Gengar's presences he could locate the ghost. When after while he returned to the stadium were Brock and Misty were wanting on his. Today he would be facing a girl name Liz from Commerce City. Brock tried to flirt with her, only for Misty to drag him by the ear. Once the embarrassing display ended the trainers began their battle.
"Jolteon, let's go." Liz called out a yellow Pokémon with spiky fringe around its tail.
"Jolt, Jolt." Jolteon barked out.
"Dusclops, I choose you." Ash released his choice.
"Dusclops." Dusclops stated as it was released.
Liz seemed surprised for a second, which made sense, Dusclops weren't from around here.
"Begin." The ref announced.
"Jolteon use Thunderbolt." Liz began.
"Jolt." Jolteon barked out, as it released a power electric attack.
"Shadow Ball." Ash called out.
Firing the black and purple ball the two attacks canceled out, as they created a small explosion. Smirking both trainer knew this would be a good match. Liz told he Jolteon to use Shadow Ball, will Ash told Dusclops to defend with a Shadow Ball of his own. The attacks created a small layer a smoke, and Jolteon ran through with a Quick Attack. Ash just waited, and when Jolteon was about hit Dusclops it suddenly fazed through. Both Liz and Jolteon were shock, and before Liz could give another order, Ash had Dusclops use Fire Punch. A flaming covered fist struck Jolteon causing it to fall forward.
Ash then told Dusclops to use Shadow Ball, but before it could land Liz countered by telling Jolteon to use Double Team. The attack missed as it hit a fake, and smashed into the ground leaving a small crater. Jolteon and its doubles fired a series of Shadow Ball. As they came his close, Ash had Dusclops use Protect. A green barrier surrounded Dusclops shielding his from the attack.
"Night Shade." Ash retaliated.
A black beam of energy fired from its eye, as it struck the duplicates. Jolteon avoided the blast, and fired back a Thunder Wave. Ash told Dusclops to stop it with Psychic and send it into the ground. Once the Thunder Wave was dealt with Ash the had Dusclops use Taunt. Dusclops made a come here motion before turning his back to Jolteon. Jolteon angrily barked, and growled at Dusclops.
"Smart by using taunt he prevented Liz for avoiding attacks with Double Team, and stop Thunder Wave from paralyzing Dusclops for a short time." Brock stated.
"Your right, but still most electric attack can have a chance to paralyze the opponent." Misty added.
"Dusclops use Shadow Punch." Ash commanded.
"Jolteon block with Electro Ball, then Thunderbolt." Liz countered.
Jolteon fired the ball, destroying the transparent fist, before firing the bolt of electricity. Seeing the attack, Ash retaliated with Night Shade. This created another layer of smoke that covered the field. When the smoke disappeared Jolteon was nowhere to be seen. Suddenly the ground below Dusclops erupted as Dusclops was struck. Jolteon was in the air, after striking Dusclops with Dig. It then fired a Shadow Ball forcing Dusclops to take several steps back. Deciding it would be best to switch out, he wanted to make sure Liz couldn't.
"Mean Look." Ash ordered.
A purple ring shot out from Dusclops's eyes as it enveloped Jolteon.
"What Mean Look?" Misty asked.
"It prevents the opponent from being switched out, which means Ash it planning a substitute and he doesn't want Liz to be appear to switch." Brock explained.
"I see." Misty replied.
"Dusclops return." Ash said returning the Beckon Pokémon. Grabbing his next choice, he called out, "Rhydon, I choose you."
"Rhydon." The Drill Pokémon called out.
Liz frown, she knew the effects of Mean Look, which meant she could use her own ground type, but she had something that can help.
"Rhydon Earthquake." Ash began wanting to do as damaged in a short amount of time.
"Jolteon Magnet Rise." Liz replied calmly.
Jolteon rose of the ground, and floated calmly in the air, while Rhydon slammed his foot on the ground. Ash's eyes narrowed, he remembers seeing Magnet Rise. If he recalled correctly the prevents ground type moves from effecting user for a short time. Still that left plenty of attacks for Rhydon to use.
"Jolteon Shadow Ball." Liz ordered.
"Rhydon Rock Blast." Ash countered.
Rhydon's horn glowed bright, are a series of attacks fired towards Jolteon. Jolteon weaved out of the way, before firing a Shadow Ball. Rhydon countered by firing a Flamethrower, which over powered the Shadow Ball. Jolteon moved out of the way, before retaliating with a Pin Missile. Rhydon ignored the small spikes, and summon a Rock Slide. Jolteon attempted to avoid the falling boulders, only to be struck by another Flamethrower from Rhydon. Jolteon took a large amount of damaged, and now was trapped.
"Rhydon finish Jolteon with Earthquake." Ash ordered.
"Rhy." Rhydon roared, as it stomped on the ground.
The whole area shook, as the trainers struggled to stay standing. When the tremors stopped Jolteon was out cold.
"Jolteon is unable to battle, Rhydon wins." The ref announced.
With the first Pokémon knocked out, Liz returned her fallen Pokémon with a sigh. She then thanked Jolteon before grabbing her next pick.
"Marowak let's go." Liz called out her next choice.
"Marowak!" The Pokémon cried out ready to battle.
Liz began the fight with, "Marowak use Bonemerang."
Tossing the bone in its hand, the bone was traveling towards Rhydon like a Frisbee. Seeing the attack, Ash told Rhydon to deflect it with Iron Tail. Rhydon's tail glowed as it smacked against the bone. After a brief struggle, the Iron Tail managed to deflect the Bonemerang. Marowak's bone was sent several feet away, causing Marowak to run towards it.
"Ice Beam on the field." Ash called out.
Opening its mouth, Rhydon launch the freezing attack towards ground. Ice was encased over the field causing it to become slippery. Marowak struggled to stay standing, as he lost balanced.
"Rhydon use another Ice Beam, then Rock Slide." Ash continued his offense.
"Marowak quick use Flamethrower on the field then get out of there." Liz pleaded, knowing if Ash pulled out what he was planning he would win.
Marowak unleashed a torrent of flames from its mouth, causing the ice to evaporate, and cause a fog to cover the field. While heard the sound of the Rock Slide, he didn't hear any cries of pain. Suddenly the bone flew through the fog, a nailed Rhydon on the head. This force Rhydon to take several steps back. When the fog finally cleared, Marowak was standing tall with its bone club in its hand.
"Marowak use Earth Power." Liz continued.
Smashing its fist on the ground, Marowak opened a chasm allowing the earth erupt in power. Seeing attack coming towards Rhydon, Ash told Rhydon to use Protect. The green barrier appeared around Rhydon, as the Earth Power slammed into it. The barrier lowered when the attack ended, Rhydon brought his arms up to shield himself from a Brick Break.
"Rhydon Earthquake." Ash countered.
Stomping on the ground, the earth shook again as Marowak gritted its teeth from the attack. Knowing Rhydon was going to struggle Ash debated on a switch. Deciding he wanted to inflict a little more damage he decided to stay for a bit.
"Now Ice Beam." Ash continued.
After the attack stopped Rhydon fired another Ice Beam that connected with Marowak. Marowak grounded as everything below its head was encased in ice. With Marowak stuck Liz asked it to use Flamethrower to free itself. Unfortunately, its head was unable to get into a position to hit the ice.
"Hammer Arm." Ash called out.
Rhydon's right arm glowed as he raised it above his head, he then brought it down, slamming Marowak.
The ice shattered and Marowak was stuck in the ground. The ref examined Marowak who was struggling to get out. Rhydon on the other hand was panting heavily, while Hammer Arm was a powerful attack, the drawback was it took a lot of energy out of the user. Tis would less over time with lots of training. By the time Rhydon caught its breath, Marowak managed to get out of the ground. While Marowak was also panting heavily, Ash knew the match could end in Rhydon's defeat.
"Rhydon return." Ash called back. After returning Rhydon, Ash selected his next choice. "Eevee I choose you." Ash called out releasing the brown fox.
"Vee." Eevee cried out, gaining a few awes from the crowd.
"Eevee use Take Down." Eevee charged forward with towards Marowak.
Seeing Eevee come closer Liz told Marowak to counter with Bonemerang. Throwing the bone, it traveled at high speeds, but before it could connect Ash told Eevee to use Double and Quick Attack. The bone passed threw a fake and Eevee and its copies raced towards Marowak. As the bone made its return it hit another fake. As Marowak caught its bone Eevee full force sending it flying back. Marowak crashed into the ground, and Ash called for a Swift. Eevee fired a bunch of stars the headed for Marowak, who managed to block them with a Flamethrower.
"Marowak return." Liz said return Marowak.
Knocking Marowak needed a break she decided to switch while she can.
"Weezing let's go." Liz called out.
From the Pokéball was a Pokémon Ash has battled many times. Weezing was two purple spherical Pokémon connected by a thin tube. Unlike the one from Team Rocket, he could tell this one was strong. It was a lot bigger than James's Weezing.
"Weezing use Sludge Bomb." Liz began.
Weezing spat out a series of brown orbs the towards Eevee. Ash had Eevee use Dig to get away. After a bit, several Eevee made their way and charged at Weezing.
"Heat Wave." Weezing unleashed a hot breath that got rid of all the Eevee fakes, however the real Eevee was nowhere to be seen.
"Iron Tail." Ash called out.
From the underground Eevee emerged with it tail glowing.
"Ee Vee!" Eevee barked, slamming its tail into Weezing.
"Weezing don't give in, use Gyro Ball." Liz countered.
"Weezing." The Pokémon responded, it then began spinning around in a circle while a glowing disc surrounded it.
Weezing slammed into Eevee sending it skidding back.
"Eevee use Shadow Ball." Ash retaliated.
"Weezing you too." Liz countered.
The two attacks creating smoke that covered the field, when it cleared Eevee was nowhere to be seen and several Weezing were floating around. Liz then ordered Weezing to use Flamethrower into the hole. Eevee was thrown out of the hole with a series of flames behind it.
"Eevee use Double Team." Ash called out.
Once Eevee created several copies, Ash then asked for a Swift attack. Eevee spun around as she fired many stars towards Weezing who retaliated with Heat Wave. Eevee then dashed forwards with a Quick Attack, as Weezing fired back with several Sludge Bombs. Eevee managed to avoid all of Weezing counter attack before slamming into Weezing with another Iron Tail. Weezing groaned out in pain as it flew back.
"Eevee use Shadow Ball." Ash continued.
"Eevee." Eevee barked out, while firing a purple and black orb.
"Smokescreen." Liz countered.
"Weezing." Weezing groaned, as released a thick layer of smoke.
The sound of the Shadow Ball exploding could be heard, but Weezing cries weren't. Neither trainers' voices could be heard, as they waited for the smoke to clear. As the smoke dyed down a standoff could be seen between several Eevee and Weezing.
"Swift/Flamethrower." Both trainers ordered.
A collision of stars and fire collided wiping out every copy of Eevee and Weezing. But when the attacks stopped Eevee and nowhere in sight. Suddenly a Shadow Ball erupted from the ground and struck Weezing. Eevee then popped up from the underground before striking Weezing with another Iron Tail. But before Weezing could get too far away, "Explosion." Liz, yelled out.
Ash's eyes widen as he desperately cried out for Eevee to use Protect. Weezing glowed white, as it created an explosion the rocked the field. Smoke covered so no one could see what happed right away. As the smoke cleared Weezing was unconscious, however Eevee was panting heavily, with several burn marks covering her. Eevee was struggling to stay standing, but managed to stay tall. Looks like the Protect didn't managed to get up in time to block the entire explosion. Just as the ref was about to announced the victor, Eevee suddenly collapsed.
"Eevee and Weezing are unable to battle, this battle is a draw." The ref announced.
Both Ash and Liz returned their Pokémon thanking them for their help. Liz released her Marowak, while Ash released his Dusclops.
Marowak was still panting, not fully recovered from its fight with Rhydon. Liz tried to start with another Bonemerang, but Dusclops caught it a threw away from Marowak. He then fired a Shadow Ball to Marowak who blocked it with another Flamethrower. However, as Shadow Punch connected to Marowak's torso, as Marowak was sent flying. Dusclops then shot out a Night Shade, then smacked into Marowak sending into the ground.
"Finish it with Ice Punch." Ash called out.
Floating towards Marowak, Dusclops's right hand was encased in cold energy. Once next to Marowak, Dusclops then smashed it right hand down on Marowak. Marowak could no longer fight as its eyes were swirls.
"Marowak is unable to battle which the means the winner is Dusclops, and the victory goes to Ash from Pallet Town." The referee announced.
"With a hard fight victory, Ash emerges the victory after only losing one Pokémon. Can he keep up the momentum?" The announcer questioned.
After the battle Ash took his Pokémon to the center to get treated. Taking Rhydon, Dusclops, Eevee, and Scyther Pokéball in order to send them back to Prof. Oak for some rest and relaxation. Once getting his next set, he went back to the stadium to watch the rest of the battles. Joe won his next fight, but ended up losing his Porygon, and Electabuzz to a Onix, Flareon, and Arbok. His Hypno was the only one standing. A.J. also had a difficult match with Pidgeot loss to a Rhyhorn. Dugtrio took out Rhyhorn it managed to tie with Arcanine. Butterfree managed to pull out the win by knocking out Clefable. Finally, Damien once again destroyed his opponent's Dewgong, Scyther, and Hitmonlee, with a Tentacruel, and a Magmar. Gathering around to see who would battle who Ash was shocked to see he would battle Joe next.
What was even more surprising was A.J. would battle Damien next. Ash warned A.J. of Damien. A.J. was determined to take him down. While Ash promise to Joe a great battle tomorrow. Joe also promised a good battle, then Misty and Brock reveal the winner of A.J. and Damien would battle either Ash, and Joe. Hearing that A.J. promised to see one of them in the next round.
The top 8 would take place tomorrow and would be followed by the semifinals. So for the rest of the day, Ash would plan, and team with his team for tomorrow.
So quick question, what other Pokémon should Brock catch, with Misty its easy since all of her catches are going to be water type. I'm planning of give Brock more Rock Pokémon. What other Pokémon should he get. Let me know.
