Icwintersolider: Gyarados diffidently would come in handy for Misty. She will catch water type not naive from Kanto, but also not native to Johto. Feebas is defiantly a contender. Brock getting Happiny early would be fun. Easily since I could have her have a sibling relationship with Togepi. Brock has also shown some skill with a Magnemite. Plus, Brock be interest in getting a Hisuian Growlithe.

Reader: Glad you're enjoying the battle. We've see other people use Mean Look on Ash so I thought it would be nice to Ash to try it. I like your suggestions of Pokémon for Brock. Plus, those same Pokemon would help Brock when he becomes a doctor. You know I wish we could see Brock other Pokemon again, I only remember recently seeing Steelix, Geodude, Sudowoodo, and the rest of his Sinnoh Pokemon appear.
It was time for the for Ash's match against Joe, both trainers were ready. After carefully looking over the Pokémon Joe used he wonder what his sixth Pokémon was. Either way he was going to make sure he was going to win this match.
"Trainers select your Pokémon." The ref announced.
"Hypno let's battle." Joe called out a yellow skin, humanoid Pokémon with white fur around the neck, and holding a pendulum in its left hand.
"Kingler, I choose you." Ash called out his Pincer Pokémon.
"Begin." The ref called out.
"Kingler Bubble Beam." Ash began.
Opening its big claw, Kingler fired a series of powerful bubbles towards Hypno. Seeing the attack Joe called for a Psybeam. Hypno fired a pink beam the collided with the Bubble Beam, and they canceled each other out. Smirking the trainers called out their next attack.
"Ice Beam/Psychic." The two called out.
Kingler fired the icy, blue beam towards Hypno, who's eyes glowed pink and a pink aura appeared around the Ice Beam. The attack stopped, and Hypno redirected it back to Kingler. Seeing the attack coming back Ash the told Kingler to block it with Rock Tomb. Several large boulders around Kingler, as the Ice Beam struck them encasing them in ice.
"Shadow Ball." Joe called out.
Creating the purple and black orb, Hypno fired it towards the rock barrier. The Shadow Ball smashed into the barrier, creating a hole reveal nothing behind it. Suddenly Kingler erupted from beneath Hypno and smashed its claw into Hypno. But as Hypno was in the air.
"Disable." Joe ordered.
Hypno fired a red ring that surround Kingler before disappearing. Ash gritted his teeth, this meant Kingler couldn't use Dig for a while. As Hypno was falling Joe told Hypno to use Psychic on itself to slow down itself fall. Once back on the ground Hypno had to fire a Shadow Ball to protect itself from an incoming Bubble Beam.
"Hypno use Psychic." Joe called out.
"Nooo!" Hypno grunted as Kingler was surround by a pink aura and was lifted in the air.
"Now Hypnosis." Joe continued.
Hypno began sending hypnotic waves towards Kingler but before they could react…
"Kingler Rock Slide." Ash countered.
Despite still being in Hypno grasp, Kingler glowed as boulders rained from the sky. The Rock Slide broke Hypno's concentration as it released its hold on Kingler. Kingler landed on the ground with a thud.
"Ice Beam." Ash ordered.
Firing the beam of ice energy, Hypno was struck before it could react. Hypno's body was encased in ice.
"Surf." Ash continued.
Kingler's eyes glowed blue, as Kingler was lifted on a giant wave of water. Kingler then crashed into Hypno, breaking it free from the ice.
"Follow up with X-Scissor." Ash followed up.
Bring its claws together. A bright green light enveloped them, before Kingler slammed into Hypno with an incredible force. Hypno landed on the ground with a thud. Knowing this wasn't going well Joe decided to substitute his Pokémon. Returning Hypno Joe released a yellow humanoid Pokémon with black stripes and two fangs.
"Electabuzz." The Pokémon cried out.
Ash frown, being an electric type it had the advantage, and Dig disable for a while he wouldn't be able to easily escape. He could switch also, but type advantage didn't mean anything. After thinking over his options he decided to keep Kingler.
"Electabuzz use Thunderbolt." Joe started off with.
With electricity cackling around its antennae's, it fired the attack towards Kingler.
"Kingler block it with Ice Beam." Ash countered.
As the two attacks clashed, they managed to cancel each other out. Joe gritted his teeth, looks like Kingler had other ways to defend himself.
"Kingler use Bubble Beam." Ash continued.
"I wonder why Ash didn't substitute?" Misty asked.
"Toge priii." Togepi cheered on Misty's lap.
"He's making sure that Kingler is prepared for all types. Since there is a chance his other Pokémon could get knocked out. It's better to test out defensive strategies now in a smaller tournament, rather than in a big league." Brock explained.
"I see, the pretty clever." Misty replied.
"Electabuzz use Thunderbolt." Joe continued.
"Electabuzz." Electabuzz grunted unleashing the powerful attack. Thunderbolt tore through the Bubble Beam but before it could Kingler unleashed a Rock Tomb to surround itself, blocking the attack.
"Electabuzz Thunder Punch." Joe countered.
With its fist cloaked in electricity, it charged forwards striking the rocks revealing Kingler.
"Mud Shot." Ash called out.
With its big pincer open, Kingler the shot out a glob of mud that covered Electabuzz. A red aura appeared around Electabuzz and before it could react Kingler struck it with an Ice Beam. Electabuzz flew back and landed on the ground with a thud. Satisfied with Kingler's work Ash decided now would be a good time to switch.
"Kingler return." Ash said, returning Kingler. Grabbing his next choice, he called out, "Muk I choose you."
"Muk, Muk." Muk grunted out.
Joe seemed surprised by Ash's choice but prepared to battle.
"Muk use Sludge Bomb." Ash started off.
Muk began firing several balls of sludge towards Electabuzz who used Light Screen. The barrier appeared around Electabuzz as the damaged was cut in half. Then Joe continued by tell Electabuzz to use Thunderbolt, as Electabuzz fired the electricity Muk blocked it with another Sludge Bomb. Electabuzz then ran forwards ready to use a Thunder Punch, however, it was moving slower than before.
"Why is Electabuzz moving slower?" Misty asked.
"Because of Kingler's Mud Shot, it lowers the opponent's speed." Brock explained.
"I see." Misty replied.
"Muk counter with Fire Punch." Ash countered.
With its fist covered in flames, Muk's fist collided with Electabuzz's and the two struggled against each other. The attacks canceled out as the collision several both Pokémon back. Ash then had Muk retaliate with a Flamethrower. Opening its mouth, Muk unleashed a torrent of flames. Electabuzz cried out in pain, as it flew back and landed on the ground with a thud.
"Don't let use Sludge Bomb." Ash continued.
"Dodge that." Joe cried out.
As Muk fired off another Sludge Bomb, Electabuzz managed to roll out of the way. Electabuzz then grabbed Muk with a Psychic attack. It flung Muk back causing it to land on the ground with a thud. Muk groaned in pain as Electabuzz used another Psychic attack. As Muk was flung, Ash told it to use Disable. Muk once again landed on the ground with a thud, however, the Disable connected now preventing Electabuzz from using Psychic.
"Muk use Shadow Sneak." Ash ordered.
Muk suddenly disappeared, as black shadow creeped along the floor. It then appeared behind Electabuzz crashing into it. Then Muk fired off a Shadow Punch then slammed into Electabuzz's midsection. Electabuzz fell on the ground, Muk then fired off another Flamethrower. Growling Electabuzz managed to block it with a Thunderbolt. Once it was up Electabuzz ran forward, and slammed in Muk with a Quick Attack. With it close up Electabuzz then struck Muk with a powerful Thunder Punch. Muk groaned as the consecutive attacks struck it. Knowing they couldn't keep this up forever, Ash then called for a Dark Pulse. Muk fired a series of purple and black rings. The Light Screen once again cut the damage in half.
"Muk use Rock Tomb." Ash called out.
"Muk, Muk." Muk cried out.
Several large stones appeared around Electabuzz pinning it, and preventing it from moving.
"Finish it with a Shadow Punch." Ash ordered.
Firing off on last translucent fist, Electabuzz was struck hard, smashing through the Rock Tomb trapping it. Electabuzz tried to get up but collapsed on the ground again with swirls in its eyes.
"Electabuzz is unable to battle, and Muk is the winner." The ref announced.
"Good job Electabuzz you did great." Joe praised, returning Electabuzz. He then grabbed his next choice before calling his Hypno again.
Know Muk was in a disadvantage, Ash was tempted to return him but decided it was best to work on defenses against Hypno.
"Hypno use Psychic." Joe began.
"Muk use Poison Gas." Ash countered.
Muk unleashed a vile greenish, brown cloud of poison that surround the area. Hypno was forced to use its Psychic on the Poison Gas instead, sending it away. Muk used the opportunity to strike Hypno with a power Dark Pulse. Hypo was thrown back by the attack. Muk then tried to get in close with a Shadow Sneak, but Hypno took the attack before fighting by striking Muk with a Psybeam.
"Shadow Ball." Ash called out.
"Muk." Muk grunted, as it created a purple and black orb firing it.
"Hypno dodge." Joe ordered.
Hypno jumped to the side to avoid the Shadow Ball. "Now use Psyshock."
"Hypno." Hypno grunted as it firing several blue orbs towards Muk.
Muk cried out in pain, as it was launched back.
"Finish it with another Psyshock." Joe said.
Muk once again took the powerful attack, as it collapsed with swirls in its eyes.
"Muk is unable to battle Hypno wins." The ref announced.
"Incredible for the first time, Ash has lost a Pokémon in the competition." The announcer stated.
Sigh Ash returned Muk thanking it for its hard work. Knowing he had two Pokémon left he decided to let Kingler out again.
"Kingler I choose you." Ash called out.
"Kingler use Dig." Ash stated off.
Joe frown, with Dig no longer unable Disable's control, Ash was free to use it again. Waiting for any signs of Kingler, a rumble could be heard as suddenly Kingler erupted from the ground, on a geyser of water underneath him. The force from the Waterfall attack thrown Hypno back as it landed on its back. Hypno got back up, and fired a Shadow Ball at Kingler. Kingler countered as it fired a Bubble Beam. The attacks canceled out, but before Kingler could make its next move, it was struck by a green orb.
"Hypno hit it with another Energy Ball." Joe called out.
Creating another green orb, Hypno fired it at Kingler. Ash the told Kingler to block it with an Ice Beam. The attacks collided creating a small explosion, and using the opportunity Kingler burrowed in the ground.
Joe then told Hypno to use Future Sight, knowing that had no way of getting Kingler out. Hypno glowed as light blue orbs appeared, before disappearing in the sky. Kingler emerged behind Hypno as it fired an Ice Beam. Hypno body was encased ice, preventing it from moving.
"Finish Hypno off with Crabhammer." Ash ordered.
Kingler large claw glowed, as it brought the powerful attack on to Hypno. Hypno cried out in pain as Kingler slammed its claw on to it. The ice shattered as Hypno collapsed onto the ground. Not wanting to let Joe down, Hypno struggled to get onto its feet.
Ash was surprised, but smiled seeing Hypno determination. He then told Kingler to use X-Scissor. As Kingler rush forwards, and was about to make contact will Hypno, Joe cried out, "Thunder Wave."
Hypno managed to release a weak jolt of electricity, just as X-Scissor connected. Hypno collapsed, unable to continue as electricity cackled around Kingler.
"Hypno is unable to battle Kingler wins." The ref announced.
The crowd cheered, as Joe returned Hypno thanking it for its hard work. Joe smiled, this battle really got his blood pumping. Now Ash still had two Pokémon left, he hoped his pick could take both of them out.
"Crobat, let's battle." Joe called out, a large purple bat with wings, and two small feet.
"Crobat?" Ash question taking out his Pokédex.
Crobat, the Bat Pokémon, and the evolve form of Golbat. With its two additional wings, Crobat is able to fly much faster than Golbat.
"Wow, I didn't know Golbat could evolve." Ash commented.
Kingler would be slowed down thanks to the Thunder Wave, and he didn't know what Crobat's abilities were.
"Kingler do you want to keep going?" Ash asked.
Looking at his trainer Kingler nodded, causing Ash to nod as well.
"Okay Kingler, if you want to keep going that's fine with me." Ash replied.
"Crobat use Air Slash." Joe began.
"Kingler Rock Slide." Ash countered.
Crobat sliced the air, sending several crescent air blades towards Kingler. Kingler attempted to fire the Rock Slide, bust electricity cackled across its body. The blades struck Kingler shell sending crash on to the ground. Kingler struggled to get up, as Crobat used the opportunity to strike Kingler with a Cross Poison. Kingler collapsed on his back with bubbles foaming at the mouth.
"Kingler is unable to battle, Crobat wins." The ref announced.
"Wow the Crobat is strong." Misty commented.
"Yah it helps Kingler was already wore down." Brock added.
Ash return Kingler to his Pokéball, thanking it for its help. He then grabbed his next choice, and called out, "Sandslash, I choose you."
"Sandslash." Sandslash called out.
"Whoa, I've never seen a Sandslash like that." Joe commented.
"Incredible, it seems Ash has gotten his hands on an Alolan Sandslash." The announced stated.
"Sandslash start off with Icicle Crash." Ash began.
"Crobat dodge." Joe countered.
Sandslash body glowed blue, and icicles rain down from the sky, Crobat flew out of range. Joe attempted to turn the tables with Toxic. Crobat shot out a purple liquid, which landed on Sandslash. Sandslash merely shook off the liquid, and appeared to be fine, leaving Joe and Crobat in shock.
"Sorry, Joe but this type of Sandslash are Ice and Steel types making them immune to poison moves." Ash stated shocking Joe.
"With its steel typing that means poison type moves are pointless and flying type moves won't be effective." Joe added releasing the situation. However, thankfully Crobat new several other moves.
"Shadow Ball." Joe called.
"Hail." Ash countered.
As Crobat fired its attack, Sandslash glowed a light blue, and suddenly the area got foggy, and ice rained down. Sandslash then jumped out of the way of the incoming Shadow Ball. Ash then told Sandslash to run around in order to confuse Crobat. Crobat would fire off another Shadow Ball, and then a Dark Pulse, but attacks completely missed. Sandslash then would counter attacked with a Blizzard. Crobat attempted to fly out of range, but thanks to the Hail, Blizzard connected striking Crobat for massive damage.
"Now Sandslash use Icicle Crash." Ash continued.
"Double Team." Joe defended.
As the large icicles fell from the sky, Crobat created several copies. Unfortunately, Crobat was still struck as it was slammed into the ground. Sandslash used the opportunity to strike Crobat with an Iron Head. Sandslash ran forward, as a silver trail of light followed behind it. Sandslash then slammed into Crobat sending it flying back. Crobat landed on the ground with a thud. Sandslash then unleashed another Blizzard attack, and Crobat defended with a Double Team. Crobat narrowly managed to avoid taking the full force of the attack. Crobat managed to get itself up into the air. Suddenly the Hail finally lifted, as the sun shined through again.
"Sandslash use another Hail." Ash called out.
"Crobat don't let it use Aerial Ace." Joe retaliated.
Before Sandslash could start another Hail, Crobat disappeared for a second before ramming into Sandslash with white streaks around it. Sandslash slid back, however the attack didn't do much damage. Sandslash's spikes fired off several icicles that slammed into Crobat sending it back.
"Let's end this with Ice Punch, Sandslash." Ash ordered.
"Sandslash." Sandslash replied, as it ran forwards it's right fist glowing an icy blue.
Once close enough, Sandslash, threw his right fist forwards smashing Crobat. Ice then covered Crobat, as it smashed into the ground. Crobat twitch as it tried to get up only to collapse on its back again.
"Crobat is unable to battle and Sandslash is winner, and the victory goes to Ash of Pallet Town." The ref announced.
"Joe put up a great, even managing to take out 2 of Ash's Pokémon but in the end, Ash still came out on top." The announcer stated.
"Crobat you did great, return." Joe praised his Pokémon.
"Sandslash, great job." Ash cheered, as he rubbed Sandslash on the head.
"You did great Ash." Joe praised approaching the trainer.
"Thank Joe, you did great as well." Ash replied shaking Joe hand.
"But I'm going to win next time." Joe responded.
"I wouldn't count on it." Ash responded. The two trainers laughed as the crowd cheer them.
After their battle everyone went to watch the next match, since the winner would battle Ash in the semi-finals. A.J. gave everything he had, his Dugtrio lost Damien's Victreebel, but Pidgeot avenged his fallen friend. Victreebel was taken with a powerful Wing Attack. Damien then sent out Golem that knocked out Pidgeot with a well-timed Stone Edge. A.J. then sent out his Sandslash. Sandslash took out Golem with a powerful Earthquake. Damien then released his Machamp to battle. It was a brutal match neither Pokemon giving in, but Sandslash ended up failing to Machamp's brutal Close Combat.
With A.J. Ash took his three Pokemon to the center for treatment, and promised to avenge A.J. Once they were treat, Ash went back to the field, the semi-field would begin.
Okay next chapter will be Ash vs Damien, after that will be the finals for the tournament.
