Irbrenneke: I will neither confirm nor deny.
Poke-ranger21: Maybe, maybe not.
RKF22: Its a secret
Chazkopa: Glad you enjoy Gengar joining.
Browntown747: My bad I meant to say the egg was mostly white with a black spot.
CrimsonStarBlade: Who knows. As for OCs I probably won't since the mean reason I would use OCs for rivals but the anime introduced character who can fill in that rival role. The main place we would need a rival are Johto and Hoenn. But in Johto we met characters like Casey, Macy, Jackson, Miki, Sakura, Harrison, even Shingo. Hoenn we have Tyson, Morrison, Katie, and few others who could have made good rivals. Yes, Ash has a Scyther and it will evolve into Scizor.
Bugtop: It a pretty good theory, and I differently agree with a lot of it. No need to find the post for me.
Timmytom: I haven't though that far ahead. But unless I can think of a good way to use it, probably not.
Reader: Agreed, the only reason I didn't use his Seadra was I have no idea how it could fight on land. It probably the reason we don't see the fish Pokémon often since how with they fight on dry land.
Iron-slayer-dragon: Glad you enjoyed it.
So in terms of Hisuian Pokémon let's wait till Scarlet and Violet come before continuing this discussion. After all, many speculate the game will involve time travel. So perhaps these forms are still alive. Also in terms of Ash's Pokémon evolving into their Hisuian Forms the only one I'm considering is Oshawott. I do not like Typhlosion, or Decidueye Hisuian Forms. If you guys like those forms good on you, because just because I don't like them doesn't you shouldn't.
"I'm home." Misty called out, as she, Ash and Brock entered the Cerulean Gym.
"Hi Misty, Hi Ash, Hi Brock." Daisy greeted her sister and her friends as they walked into the gym.
"Wow!" Brock couldn't help but yell out seeing, Misty's sisters. However Misty was quick to react by grabbing him by the ear, and dragging him away.
"So Misty told me you're training to prepare for the water battle field?" Daisy asked receiving a nod. "Great, oh my is that a Pokémon egg?" She now asked noticing the white egg with a black spot.
"Yup, I won this in a tournament, pretty cool right." Ash replied proudly.
Daisy could help but let out a giggle, "Your right that is cool. Do you know what's Pokémon is inside?"
"The mayor offered to tell me, but I declined, I rather wait till it hatches." Ash replied.
"Anything your hoping for?" Daisy inquired.
"No, I just want it to be healthy." Ash answered.
The two turned their heads seeing Brock and Misty returned, with the two back the four made their way to the pool in order to start training.
In the pool they saw Misty and Daisy's other two sisters Voilet and Lily in the pool. Before Brock could embarrassed himself again, a menacing aura from Misty put a stop to it. Seeing the others the two got out of the pool to greet their sister. Once that was done, Misty went to greet her Horsea and Starmie. The two were thrilled to see Misty again, as she hugged them after not seeing them for so long. Once Misty and her Pokémon got reunited, she introduced them to help Ash's Pokémon improve their techniques in the water. Before they arrived Prof. Oak allow Ash a temporary extension to his carrying limit too 9 since he would be staying in Cerulean City and Pewter City from a while, that way he can train more of his Pokémon.
Ash released his Eevee, Squirtle, Kingler, Pidgeot, Dragonite, Gengar, Scyther, and Sneasel. Misty's sisters were in awe seeing Ash's Pokémon, they isn't cooed when they saw Eevee. Brock was in tears seeing Eevee getting hugged to death by the three sisters. The trio marveled seeing Dragonite, only for Dragonite to pull them into a hug. The sisters struggled at first, trying to break out of her grasped but seem to relax in Dragonite's grasp. Once Dragonite was done hugging the sisters, Ash started the training sessions. First would be a test of endurance, with Pikachu, Eevee and Sneasel would running on the platforms. Squirtle, and KIngler would be swimming in the water, while Pidgeot, Dragonite, Scyther and Gengar would be flying or in Gengar's case floating above the water.
The Pokémon took off going back and forth trying their best to be the last one to finish. Pidgeot was the fastest flyer followed by Dragonite and Scyther. However Gengar zipped past them. On the platforms Pikachu darted back and forth the fastest, with Sneasel close behind, and Eevee on their tails trying to catch up. In the water Squirtle, and Kingler were neck and neck easily gliding in the water.
The group gave it their all doing their best not to be the first to tire out. Sneasel eventually gave in, followed by Eevee, Squirtle, Kingler, Scyther, Gengar, Dragonite, Pidgeot, and Pikachu. Once they couldn't continue, Ash let them rest for a while before continuing. The continue this exercise several more times until it was time for lunch. Brock made a delicious meal causing Misty's sisters to give him praise, to which Brock soaked up. The Pokémon devoured their male showing how much their training took out of him. After a bit of rest it was time for move training each of them practicing moves on the water, giving them ideas on how to use the water field to their advantage. Pikachu and Dragonite were practicing their Thunder Punch attack together. Gengar showed Sneasel how to use Ice Punch. After that he would be working on Hypnosis then Dream Eater. Pidgeot was working on Protect, then Heat Wave. Scyther was currently working on Cross Poison and Psycho Cut. Squirtle was working on Hydro Pump, next to Kingler using Swords Dance. Final Eevee was putting some finishing touches on Hyper Voice.
As Ash watched them practiced he thinking of ways to the field to his advantage, ways he could avoid or block attacks using water. Perhaps he could use the water to create a barrier in order to block projectiles, or maybe as a distraction in order for his Pokémon to retreat into the water. If he knock and opponent's Pokémon into the water then he could hit it with a super charge electric attack. If used Pidgeot's attacks right, then he could exposed hidden Pokémon in the water. Once the move practice was over, Ash had his team take a break and relax for a while.
As the Pokémon were resting, Brock took the opportunity to asked Ash what Pokémon he was going to be using against Misty in the practice battle. After the break Ash and Misty would have a 3 on 3 battle.
"I'm going to use Kingler, Eevee, and Gengar." Ash replied.
Brock nodded they were good choices. As they continue to go over other things they could work on, Misty was looking a her selection and decided to your her Starmie, Staryu and Goldeen. She felt pretty confident she could beat Ash, after not only were they battling at her family's gym, but also were on a water battlefield. Once they break was over Ash gather his 3 choices and asked the other to watch in the stands. Since Brock would be refereeing since Misty refused to let him near her sisters, Ash asked Daisy to watch over the egg, to which she happily agreed. Misty asked Voilet to watch over Togepi who eagerly agreed. As for Lily she looked over Pikachu with him sitting on her lap. Misty and Ash took their stands with Brock announcing the rules.
"This will be a 3 on 3 battle, Pokémon substitutions are allow, does each trainer understand?" Brock asked causing Misty and Ash to nod. "Trainer call out your Pokémon."
"Goldeen go!" Misty called out her Goldfish Pokémon.
"Goldeen gol." Goldeen said, as it appeared.
"Okay Eevee I choose you." Ash chanted, point to the field.
"Eevee!" Eevee happily barked as she hopped on the field.
"Begin." Brock announced.
"Okay I'll make the first move Goldeen use Horn Attack." Misty began.
Goldeen swam quickly towards Eevee as prepared to jab it with its horn. As Goldeen got closer, Ash waited for his opportunity and retaliated.
"Eevee use Swift on the water." Ash countered.
"Ee vee!" Eevee barked as she hoped into the air, spinning around, as she fired several stars towards the water.
As the Swift hit the water, it cause a big splash the shot the water up stopping Goldeen in its tracks. When the water cleared Eevee was back on the platform, dashing forwards, and slamming into Goldeen. Goldeen flew several feet back, as Eevee bounced back landing on the platform. By the time Goldeen was ready to go again, Eevee had created several copies with Double Team, and were charging at it with Take Down.
"Goldeen dive underwater." Misty countered.
"Goldeen Gol." Goldeen said as it dove under the water.
All the Eevee stopped as the stayed on the platform, looking for any sign of Goldeen.
"Goldeen now Fury Attack." Misty ordered.
Goldeen jumped from the water slamming into one of the copies. Ash didn't retaliate at first instead waiting, while Goldeen took down a few more copies. As Goldeen was about to hit the real Eevee, Ash called out, "Iron Tail right behind you."
"Ee!" Eevee grunted as see whipped around slamming her tail into Goldeen sending it into the air.
"Now Shadow Ball." Ash continued.
Eevee charged a purple orb into her mouth, as waiting form the right movement. Just before Goldeen was a few feet from the water, Eevee fired the Shadow Ball. It smacked into Goldeen slamming it in the water. Goldeen was on the surface already breathing heavily, it had been long but Eevee's attacks already did major damage. Using the same tactic before several Eevees came charging towards Goldeen with a Take Down.
"Oh Goldeen." Misty cried out in worry, before an idea came to her, "Goldeen use Agility and Fury Attack, I know you can do it."
Hearing her trainer's voice Goldeen managed to get back up, and swam with incredible speed, before striking every Eevee it could see. However, surprisingly every Eevee disappeared shocking everyone but Ash. Suddenly Eevee jumped out of the water, grabbing onto Goldeen's tail with a bite attack. She then threw Goldeen onto the platform below.
"Finish it off with Take Down." Ash called out.
"Eevee!" Eevee barked, as she fell with an orange light trailing it. Misty cried out for Goldeen to dodge it, but it was no use. Eevee into Goldeen knowing it into the water, everyone the waiting for Goldeen to surface. Once Goldeen appeared, she was knocked and on her side.
"Goldeen is unable Eevee wins." Brock announced.
"Good job Eevee." Ash cheered.
"Eevee!" Eevee cried out happily as she ran up to Ash, who caught her in his arms.
"Like that Ash has gotten good." Violet said.
The other nodded as the remembered Ash's first match with Misty.
"You tried your best, thanks Goldeen." Misty said, sadden at the complete curb stomp of a match. After returning her Goldeen, she grabbed her next choice and called out, "Staryu go." Releasing the Starfish.
"Hya!" Staryu grunted as it came out.
Seeing Misty bring out Staryu, Ash had Eevee take a break, and swapped in Kingler.
"Kingler vs Staryu begin." Brock announced.
"Since you went first last round, now it's my turn, Kingler use Bubble Beam." Ash began.
Opening its large claw, Kingler shot out a series of bubble. Seeing the incoming attack Misty was quick to counter.
"Staryu Rapid Spin." Misty countered.
"Hya." Staryu grunted, as it began spinning around in circles as it popped the bubbles.
"KIngler use Scald!" Ash called out. Once again opening its claw, Kingler fired boiling hot water towards Staryu who moved out of the way.
Staryu moved out of the way before swapping into Swift attack. Kingler jumped into the water avoiding the stars. Misty told Staryu to follow it into the water and hit it with a Tackle. As Staryu dove in water, Ash told Kingler to block it with an X-Scissor.
The water sudden shook before Kingler emerged on the platform looking fine. When Staryu emerged it was clear it had taken the worse beating in the collision. As it was hunched over in an attempt to regain its strength.
"Staryu!" Misty cried out in concern.
"Kingler use Crabhammer on the water." Ash continued.
"Kookie!" Kingler grunted as it slammed its massive claw on the water. The water turned treacherous as wave swung around. The platform Staryu was on move every direction as Staryu struggled to keep its balanced. However one massive wave struck the platform sending Staryu into the air.
"Kingler use Bubble Beam." Ash called out.
As the stream of bubbles made its way towards Staryu, Misty told Staryu to counter it with a Water Gun. Hearing Misty, Staryu shot out a stream of water that blocked the bubbles. Staryu then headed towards Kingler with another Rapid Spin. However Ash countered by having Kingler jump back used Ice Beam. As Kingler fired the freezing beam of energy, Staryu avoided the attack causing the beam to hit the water. However the water spread the attack the caused the pool to become frozen. The now prevent both Pokémon from retreating into the water.
Misty was now worried since her field advantage was now gone. However Ash just grinned, now he had an idea how to use the water to his advantage. Not wanting to let out, Ash had Kingler use Whirlpool. Creating the swirling vortex of water, Kingler launched at Staryu who got caught in its current. Misty cried out for Staryu to get out of the way. While Staryu attempted to move out of the way, the vortex managed to catch up, sucking it in. Misty pleaded for Staryu to break out.
"KIngler finish it with Crabhammer." Ash stated.
Kingler's large claw glowed as jumped into the whirlpool. It then smashed is claw into Staryu knocked it out of the whirlpool. The attack ended, as Kingler landed on the ice. Staryu's core flashed several letting Brock know Staryu was out.
"Staryu is unable to battle, and Kingler is the winner." Brock called out.
Misty sighed as she returned Staryu. She could believe how much control Ash had in the battle. Just over a month ago they could fight on par so what happened.
"You know, you would have put up a better fight if you have been raising your Pokémon better." Ash stated shocking everyone.
"What was that?!" Misty question clearly upset.
"I mean your Pokémon haven't grown much since I've met you. And you're not helping them get stronger. You never train them to get stronger or help them learn new moves. Their still struck with low level moves." Ash continued further angering Misty.
"Pika Pika!" Pikachu yelled from over the stands, not liking the way Ash was talking to Misty.
"Pikachu I need you to stay out of this, this is important for Misty to hear." Ash stated coldly silencing his partner, while catching everyone attention. "Misty you said you wanted to be become the greatest Water Pokémon Trainer. But you I've never seen you work with your Pokémon, and you've only catch two water types and your Psyduck caught itself. You haven't tried to trainer either of them, you constantly complain about Psyduck. But as a its trainer it's your job as its trainer to help him overcome its headache. Think about it, your Psyduck shows it has a great amount of psychic powers. Image how powerful he came become if you help him unlock it. I'd bet you two would be nearly unbeatable." Ash stated.
Misty eyes widen, hearing Ash claims. She thought over the previous year and what Ash said. Was it true, had she failed her own Pokémon. And her goal for becoming the greatest Water Pokémon Trainer, was she truly closer to becoming one than when she first me Ash. An then there was Psyduck, Ash brought good points he did show a lot of potential, and maybe she had been unfairly hard on him.
"Misty." Ash continued, gaining her attention, "You're not a bad trainer if anything you're a great trainer, and you have to potential to accomplish your dream. But you're like me, your enjoy the journey, but not putting in the hard work kneaded to accomplish your dream. In order to make our dream come true, we need to put in the work for, and it took a serious event for me to see that. I know how much you want your dream to come true, and I want to help you make that dream come true." Ash finished off his explanation.
Everyone was quiet, waiting to see what would happen. Misty was deep in thought taking everything into account, suddenly a voice broke her thoughts.
"Come Misty get up." Daisy said surprising everyone. "Ash is right you're a great trainer, and I know accomplish your dream, but you're not going to do that lying down. So get back up and finish the battle." Daisy said encouraging her sister.
"Daisy." Misty said, surprised hearing her older sister encouraging her.
"She right Misty." Violet added standing up, as Togepi cheered.
"We like all know your totally the best battler amongst us." Lily finished up, as they cheered Misty.
A tear appeared as Misty smiled seeing her sister cheer her on. Grabbing her last choice she released her Starmie.
"You're right Ash, need to get serious if I want to see my dream come true." Misty said confidently.
"That good let's finish this." Ash replied sending out Gengar.
Brock smiled seeing Misty gain new confident, looks like his two friends we really growing up. "Starmie vs Gengar begin." He announced.
"Starmie use your Water Gun." Misty began.
"Gengar use your Psychic to repel it." Ash countered.
Starmie squirted a stream of water towards Gengar, who eyes glowed pink as he sent the attack back at Starmie. Starmie avoided the attack as it surprised Misty as it fired a multicolored beam.
"A Psybeam attack." Brock stated surprised to see the psychic move.
"Oh yeah, like we totally for to let you know Starmie learners some new moves while you were away." Violet explained.
"Wow way to go Starmie!" Misty cheered.
Seeing the incoming attack Ash told Gengar to block it with Night Shade. Gengar cackled as it fired two black beams from its eyes. The two attacks collided as it created a layer of smoke. Suddenly several Shadow Ball were sent through the clouds of smoke towards Starmie.
"Starmie dodge it then Psybeam." Misty countered.
Starmie reacted quickly as it avoided the attack, before firing another Psybeam towards smoke. However the attack pass through the smoke as the cloud disappeared as it revealed Gengar was gone. Gengar then appeared as it come through the ice, and fired a Dark Pulse that slammed into Starmie. Starmie flew back as it slammed on the ice, covering in wound. Then Starmie glowed white, as those wounds disappeared.
"Incredible you know Recover too." Misty cheered.
"Gengar use Shadow Ball." Ash retaliated.
"Starmie block it with your Water Gun then Psybeam." Misty countered.
The jet of water managed to hold off the Shadow, and then the multicolor beam slammed into Gengar causing a good amount of damage.
"Starmie hit him with another Psybeam." Misty chanted.
"Gengar duck under the ice, then Hypnosis." Ash called out.
Gengar grinned as it used its ghost ability to phase through thye ice avoid the attack. It then reappeared in front of Starmie as waved its hands and let out a psychic wave that cause Starmie to fall out asleep.
"Starmie!" Misty cried out in worry.
"Gengar use Dream Eater." Ash ordered.
"Gengar." Gengar said, as a translucent version of itself appeared and phased into Starmie, causing it to twitch in pain.
"Now finish it with Dark Pulse." Ash called out.
Firing the dark rings the attack slammed into Starmie, finish the match.
"Starmie is unable to and Gengar is the winner." Brock announced.
"Great going Gengar." Ash said, running up to hug the ghost type.
"Gengar!" Gengar cackled happily.
Misty went over to Starmie, and hugged it, "Thank you Starmie, I'm so proud of you, take a good rest." Misty then returned Starmie, before getting up, and walked over to Ash.
"That was a great battle, and thanks you helping me realized my mistake." Misty said, not even sad that sad that she lost.
"Your welcome Misty, and I'm sorry if I came out harsh." Ash apologies.
Shaken her head she replied, "No you were right, I need to put in hard work to make my dream come true."
The true friends shook hand, as they made planned to train together, as Brock began thinking of his own dream. Everyone gather congratulating the two on their battle. They spent rest of the week training Ash's team for the water battlefield, and Misty took the opportunity to train her own Pokémon. Even Brock to the opportunity to trainer his Zubat alongside them. As the week ended they bid goodbye to Misty's sisters as they would make their way to Pewter City, to train and Brock's gym.
Alright I hope you enjoyed the chapter. Next will be at the Pewter Gym.
