It is time for the Indigo League battles, and we start off with Ash vs Mandi. This was my favorite battle in the Indigo League, not that it had much competition. Not to mention Kingler was the MVP of the league.

RKF22: Glad you're enjoying it.

Reader: Glad you enjoyed they league's start.

Haziq Saffari: Yah Diantha vs Leon should have been better. And I have lost all hope for the journey series. It should have been one of the best series.

As soon sun rose Ash woke up, excited as today was the start of the battles. Since it was still early Ash decided to go for a quick run to burn off some energy. When he got back, he found Brock already cooking breakfast, and Misty feeding the Pokémon.

"Good morning." Ash greeted his friends.

"Good morning." They greeted back.

Ash went upstairs to take a quick shower, and once he came back down, breakfast was already ready. Taking a set in between Misty and Brock the three enjoyed their meal. Once breakfast was done, and they finished cleaning the dishes the trio made their way to the to find where Ash will battle first.

"Well to Pokémon Village, I'll need your identification so I can check you in please." The lady stated.

Before Ash could have over his Pokédex, Brock jump in front of him. He attempted to flirt with the clerk, but Misty pulled him away.

"Hey you go." Ash finally replied handing over his Pokédex.

Taking his Pokédex she looked over his information before asking, "Is this your first time at the Pokémon League?"

"Yes, it is." Ash cheerfully replied.

After typing the information into the computer, she handed back his Pokédex.

"There go, your all register." She informed.

"Thank you, umm what field will I be battling on?" Ash thanked, before asking.

"Just press this button and where ever the light stops, is where you first match is. Good luck Ash." She informed, after pressing the button causing the light to cycle around the screen behind her.

Staring at the screen, Ash then pressed the button after a few rotations. The light slowed down before eventually stopping at the water symbol.

"That's the water field." Misty said, excited.

"Alright right." Ash responded, exited.

"The water field it is, now the system will select your opponent." The clerk informed.

Half the screen had Ash's picture, then a green haired trainer with a red bandana appeared next to him.

"So that's my opponent." Ash concluded.

"His name is Mandi, you're the third match, be there by one and good luck Ash." The clerk finished cheering the young trainer on.

"Thank you." Ash replied.

The group then went there way, Ash was planning to contact Prof. Oak in order to swap his team around.

"So, Ash do you know what Pokémon you'll use?" Misty asked.

"I'm planning to use Squirtle and Kingler, and either Pikachu, or Pidgeot."

"Good selection." Brock responded.

"Hiya Ash, so you're on the water battlefield." Gary greeted.

"Yeah, yourself." Ash responded assuming Gary heard their conversation.

"I'm battling on the ice field. Well, I really hope you make it through your first battle Ashy-boy, I would feel just terrible if you lot." Gary mocked.

"I would worry less about me and more about yourself, after all I've been training nonstop for this moment." Ash replied, before walking off.

After a quick trip to the Pokémon Center, Ash had his Charizard, and Dagonite transferred in exchanged for Kingler and Squirtle. As Ash was waiting for Prof. Oak to transfer his Pokémon, a familiar face appeared on screen.

"Ash, honey you look thin around you eating, okay?" Delia, Ash's mother asked concern.

"Mom, your there?" Ash asked surprised.

"Prof. Oak invited a bunch of us over here, everyone in the neighborhood is rutting for you sweetie." Delia explained, moving out of the way to showing their neighbors and other people he had grown up with.

"Thanks guys, I promise to make you all proud." Ash said, embarrassed.

The transporter then turned on as both Charizard's and Dragonite's Pokéballs disappeared and Squirtle's and Kingler's Pokéball appeared.

"They're here Prof. Oak." Ash said, showing the two Pokéball.

Nodding Prof. Oak wished Ash good luck. After saying goodbye Ash and his friends went to grab a bite to eat before the match. They sat on the counter as they watch the league battles. Currently they were watching Gary's battle on the ice field. His opponent stared off with Jynx, while Gary sent out his Magmar. With his fire typing Magmar easily took down the Jynx. He opponent then sent of a Vaporeon to which Gary switch to an Electabuzz. It didn't take much to knock out the Vaporeon. Finally, Gary took down his opponent's Magneton down with Electabuzz. With the battle over a reporter went over to Gary to get an interview.

"We're here where Gary Oak scored an impressive victory. Gary how are you feeling about your first win?" She asked.

"Well naturally winning your first battle is always important. Of course, in every Pokémon battle there has to be a winner and there has to be a loser and the trainers I know are real losers." Gary said smugly.

Ash narrowed his eyes, before looking at the time. Realizing his match would be starting soon he finished his meal and headed down to the ring. As they arrived the 2nd match finished as the green trainer won the match, after his Seaking took down his opponent's Tentacruel. As the battle ended, Ash's arm began shaking as he realized he was next.

"Ash are you okay?" Misty asked concerned.

"I'll be okay once the battle starts." Ash replied.

"And now the start of the third battle on the water field. On the green side is newcomer Ash Ketchum for Pallet. And on the red side a Pokémon League favorite the Astounding Mandi. Ketchum is accompanied by his coaches as he faces one the most popular trainers known for his impressive battle styles. Each trainer is allowed three Pokémon now let the battle begin." The announcer stated, as everyone waiting for the Pokémon to be selected.

"Now Ash, watch me work my magic. Go Exeggutor." Mandi said, as he released the grass and psychic type.

"Kingler, I choose you." Ash called out his choice.

"Mandi is starting with an Exeggutor, while Ketchum surprisingly decides to start off with his Kingler." The announcer called out.

"Exeggutor use your Psywave." Mandi began.

"Exeggutor." Exeggutor, grunted as it fired a series of circles made of psychic energy.

"Kingler use your Razor Shell." Ash countered.

A blue blade made of water appeared from Kingler as it swung its larger claw, slicing the Psywave in half. The crowd cheered seeing this display of power.

"Kingler Iron Defense." Ash continued.

"Kookie." Kingler grunted, as it gained a metalic glow as its defenses increased.

"Exeggutor use Razor Leaf." Mandi tried to counter.

"Kingler Ice Beam block it." Ash retaliated.

As Exeggutor fired several sharp leaves, Kingler opened its large claw, and fired a white beam of cold energy. The leaves froze in placed as they then fell to the ground.

"Kingler use Bubble Beam." Ash ordered.

"Exeggutor Bullet Seed." Mandi defended.

The series of bubbles and seeds collided as the turn the others to sparkles. Ash the told Kinger to dive into the water. As Kingler went in, Mandi smirked as he ordered Exeggutor to use Psychic. Exeggutor's eyes glowed as the water in the pool began swirling around turning into a whirlpool. Ash told Kingler to remain calm and power up with a Swords Dance. Several blades move around Kingler as its power increased. Mandi noticed this and told Exeggutor to use Egg Bomb. Hearing its trainer, commanded, Exeggutor fired several orbs into the as they splashed around Kingler.

"Kingler use Crabhammer on the water." Ash called.

Kingler's large claw glowed as its slammed it down on the water towards Exeggutor. The turn the water rapid, as the force of the attack sent Exeggutor flying into the water. It struggled against the waves Kingler created, as Kingler moved through the water with ease.

"X-Scissor." Ash called out.

Kingler brought its arms into an x formation as he slammed into Exeggutor sending it flying out of the water.

"Now Ice Beam." Ash continued.

Opening its big claw Kingler fired the beam towards Exeggutor encasing it in a case of ice.

"Now finish it with Crabhammer." Ash ordered.

As Exeggutor landed frozen in ice, Kingler slammed its large claw onto it. The water erupted as the force sent Exeggutor underwater. Chucks of ice rose to the surface, while everyone waited with baited beaths. Finally, Exeggutor broke the surface, as it was belly up, and unconscious.

"Exeggutor is unable to battle the winner of the battle is Kingler." The ref announced.

"Incredible, despite having the type disadvantage Kingler still emerged victorious." The announcer called out, as the crowd cheered.

One of the three spots on Mandi side of the board light went out signaling the loss of a team member. Smirking, Mandi had two Pokéballs in between his fingers before releasing one of them.

"The kid had some beginning luck, but his luck ran out. Go Seadra." Mandi said, releasing the large blue sea horse.

"Seadra?" Ash questioned, grabbing his Pokédex.

Seadra, the Dragon Pokémon and the evolved form of Horsea. Seadra has a violent temperament, and the quills that cover its body can render its victim unconscious.

"His Kingler maybe strong but it's no match for my speedy Seadra. Seadra use your agility." Mandi ordered, with a cocky smirk.

Seadra took off with impressive speed, as it blitzes around the battlefield in an attempt to confuse Kingler.

"Kingler use Whirlpool." Ash responded calmly.

Kingler's eyes glowed blue, as the water around swirling around, as Kingler created the whirlpool. Seadra attempted to fight against the powerful currents, but was struggling to stay in control.

"Seadra use Twister." Mandi countered.

Seadra glowed a purple hue, as a small tornado appear, and began sucking the water from the whirlpool, giving Seadra an easier time, as the water on his side began to calm down. The tornado was slowing gaining more power, as more water was being sucked in.

Thinking about his options Ash thought about having Kingler use Protect but decided against it. Instead, he decided to have Kingler use Razor Shell. A blue blade emerged between Kingler's big claw. As the twister came closer, Kingler slashed it cutting it in half. The water fell in the pool again as Mandi growled.

"Kingler Crabhammer again." Ash ordered.

Kingler followed Ash's commands again as he slammed his massive claw on the water. The water as it became rapid. Seadra was thrown around due to the harsh currents.

"Seadra use Dragon Breath." Mandi retaliated.

Seadra shot out a green flame that made the way towards Kingler, seeing this Kingler fired an Ice Beam blocking the attack. Kingler then hopped into the water and shot towards Seadra with an X-Scissor prepared. Seeing Kingler heading towards him, Seadra countered with another agility as it moved out of the way before Kingler reached him.

"Seadra use Dragon Breath." Mandi ordered.

As Kingler fired another green flame, Ash had Kingler dive under the water to avoid the attack.

"Kingler use Water Pulse." Ash called out.

Before Seadra could react an orb of water slammed into its mid chest sending it flying into the air. Before Mandi could call out a defense, Kingler leaped out of the water before slamming its massive claw into Seadra with a Crabhammer. Seadra was knocked into the water causing massive ripples in the water. Before Ash and Mandi waited with baited breaths, as Kingler landed on the platform, also waiting for the result. The crowd was silent waiting for any signs of Seadra. It was increasing this first-year trainer was completely domination the favorite one. Were they watching a legend in the making. Suddenly several bubbles were popping at the surface, as Seadra had floated in the surface belly up.

"Seadra is unable battle the winner of the battle is Kingler." The ref announced.

"Incredible, despite giving Kingler everything it had, Seadra went belly up." The announcer called out, as the audience cheered for the rookie.

Ash and Pikachu cheered at their 2nd win, as Kingler happily chanted his name, as he waved to Ash.

"Good Ash isn't nervous anyone." Misty stated proudly as Togepi cheered.3

"He was scared but he was tough enough to focus on the battle, and the crowd seems to love him. Everyone is rooting for him." Brock added, as the crowd was indeed now chanting the Ash's name.

"Now the Astounding Mandi is just one Pokémon away from defeat. Can he stand a magical comeback?" The announcer questioned.

Mandi just smiled before replying, "The answer is he can and he will. Now Ash let us see if your Kingler can with stand this. Now Pokémon fans my I present Pokémon fans Golbat go!" Mandi called as the Pokéball Golbat come out of was in cased in life.

The evolved form of Zubat was released as it flew into the air.

"This Pokémon fans was the ace Mandi hide up his sleeve, now Golbat is taking this water battle sky high." The announcer stated.

"I wonder what Ash plans to due. Golbat won't be an easy target." Brock wondered.

"Well, he could switch in Pikachu or rely on Kingler's long range attacks." Misty replied.

"Kingler dive in." Ash began.

Kingler happily jumped in the water as Golbat circled the field.

"Golbat use Air Cutter." Mandi opened up with.

Golbat fired several slashes of wind that struck the pool, sending water flying in different directions. Eventually the attack managed to reveal Kingler's location.

"Now use Acrobatics." Mandi ordered.

Golbat was surrounded by a light blue as it headed towards the pool. Kingler emerged from the water in an attempted to grab Golbat with a Vice Grip. However, Golbat used a Double Team in order to escape the attack. It then struck Kingler with a powerful Air Slash causing Kingler to land on the platform with a thud. Seeing the opportunity Mandi order Golbat to strike Kingler with a Shadow Ball. As Golbat fired the black orb Kingler managed to get a Protect up. The green barrier emerged blocking the attack. Ash then told Kingler to fight back with Ice Beam. As Kingler fired the attack, Mandi had prepared for this and told Golbat to use Double Team again. As a group of Golbat now surrounded Kingler, Ash had Kingler use Rock Slide to defend itself. Large boulders appeared as they rained from the sky, however while they destroyed the fakes, the real Golbat avoided them, and struck Kingler with a Shadow Ball. Kingler groaned in pain, as Mandi saw this and decided to finish it off.

"Now, Golbat we win with a Giga Drain." Mandi said with a smile.

Hearing its trainer, Golbat fired several vines that wrapped around Kingler and began absorbing his energy. Knowing Kingler was in trouble Ash quickly called out...

"Hyper Beam Now!" Ash called out in desperation.

Kingler large claw created an orange orb of pure power, before firing it. Mandi told Golbat to fly away but it was too late. Golbat was struck hard as it fell down and slammed into the platform hard. Golbat struggled a bit to get back up but collapsed on his back again.

"I can't believe it!" Mandi stated shocked at the outcome.

"Golbat is unable to battle, victory goes to the team of Ash and Kingler." The referee announced.

Hearing the outcome Kingler cheered at its dominating victory.

"It's all over, and what a finish, as Pokémon League Rookie, Ash Ketchum scored a stunning victory in his first match without once changing Pokémon. The announcer stated enthusiastically, as the crowd roared in happiness.

The shocked look on Ash's face turned into a smile as the realization kicked in, that he had won. "I did it, I won my first battle!" Ash cheered.

"Pi, Pikachu!" Pikachu also cheered, as did Brock and Misty. While his opponent fell to his knees in disbelief.

"Thanks guys!" Ash thanked, as he jumped down to the platform giving Kingler a hug.

"We actually did Kingler, you were unbelievable." Ash complement.

"Kookie kookie." Kingler replied in happiness.

(In Prof. Oak Lab)

Everyone was cheering as proud seeing Ash emerge victorious.

"Oh, he did it, my little baby." Delia said crying cheers of joy.

Sneasel, Cranidos, and Pawniard ran outside to tell the rest the results.

(Back in the stadium)

Ash returned Kingler thanking him for his hard work, before climbing back in order leave. Suddenly a reporter appears to ask a question.

"So, Ash how do you feel about your first Pokémon League victory." The reporter asked.

"It feels incredible, my head is in a rush." Ash answered.

The reporter asked a few more question to which Ash answered before having to leave for the next match. Once at the center Ash had Kingler treated as the group watched the rest of the league.

Joe battled on the grass field, and use his Hypno, and Crobat to win. A.J. battled on the ice field using a Raticate, and Magneton to win, and Giselle won her match using only a Nidoqueen on the rock field.

Unbeknownst to Ash, Gary had watched his match and was mildly impressed. Mr. Goodshow had also been watching the match along with the champion and elite four who were along impressive seeing Ash victory. The tournament battle had just begun, and Ash knew he was ready for anything that awaits.

Okay, the first battle is done let me know what you think. I was originally was planning on having Ash use three Pokémon, but decided to let Kingler keep his sweep. Now I'm not going to included Team Rocket trying to steal his Pokémon during the league as that's just annoying and plus there are Officer Jenny everywhere. I might do cameos for them as concessions. Should I have Gary stay after he loses or should he still leave?
