Reader: I'm glad you're enjoying the story so far. Ash and his friends taking the goals more serious I feel was needed in the show. Glad you enjoyed the additions to Ash's team. For Leon vs Diantha I could rewrite that battle but thank would have to wait till the Journey's rewrite if I decided to do one. Also, glad you enjoyed the new Pokémon. Your suggestions for new Pokémon, I was considering Ralts for the second round of trades. For Milotic if I do decide to give his one it will be in Hoenn. As for other Eevee eventually. As for the paring I haven't decided yet, I might leave the decision for a harem up to the readers as not everyone enjoys one.
Alright time for Ash seconded league battle. Last chapter originally Ash was going to use 3 Pokémon last chapter but I decided against it. Will this trainer get Ash to use more than one Pokémon who knows.
After Ash's Kingler was fully recovered from the battle against Mandi yesterday, the group went to celebrate his first win at the Indigo League yesterday. They decided to have a big dinner where they ran into Fergus, and his own friends Neesha and Corey. Brock tried to flirt with Neesha only to be yanked away by Misty. Fergus and his friends joined in dinner. Neesha and Corey asked where Ash and Fergus met. After talking about their battle in Viridian City the two were impressed at his strength. When Ash asked if they were also competing, they nodded. Fergus had battle on the grass field where his Dodrio easily won his first battle. Neesha had battle on the ice field were her Dewgong won the first round. Finally, Corey had also battled on the water field as effortlessly defeated his opponent with a Pidgeot.
After talking about their battle then food finally arrived, and everyone dug in. They made sure to feed their own Pokémon. Squirtle was a bit disappointed he didn't get to battle, but Pikachu and Bulbasaur made sure to cheer him up. Kingler was still celebrating his victory. As everyone enjoyed their food Misty took the opportunity to ask Fergus if her could give her advice on training her Psyduck. Since he had a Golduck this would be a massive help. Fergus was happy to help, and would starting teaching her after dinner. As everyone was enjoying their dinner, Ash took the opportunity to observe Neesha's and Corey's Pokémon. Alongside her Dewgong, she had a Vileplume, Wigglytuff, Ninetales, Rapidash and Blastoise. Corey's had Rhyhorn, Sandslash, Hitmonlee, Scyther and Venusaur.
Once dinner was done Fergus and Misty went to help Psyduck master Calm Mind. Everyone stood back and watched while the Pokémon socialized. Both Corey's Venusaur, and Neesha's Blastoise seemed curious at Ash's Bulbasaur and Squirtle and went over to talk to them. It took most of the evening but with Fergus's sand Golduck's help, Misty's Psyduck finally learn Calm Mind. Fergus noticed the Psyduck had great amount of psychic potential and believe that maybe the cause of Psyduck's constant headaches. Since Psyduck weren't psychic type Pokémon, it could be the reason they struggled to control it. Once the training was done everyone decided it was best to get some rest. After a goodnight sleep the group first went to see when Ash's next match would take place. His match would be on the rock field, and would be the fifth match. Ash decided went over to Pokémon Center where he would contact Prof. Oak to send over Rhydon sending back Kingler. Since they had to be one the rock field, by 2 today they decided to watch some of the matches.
They managed to find Gary's match on the grass field, where his Arcanine took out his opponent's team of Venomoth, Exeggutor, and Fearow. Fergus would be next and his battle would be on the water field, where his Seadra took out his opponent's Vaporeon, Raichu, and Poliwhirl. The third battle was Neesha on the rock field where her Vileplume took down Onix, Poliwrath, and Hitmonchan. The final battle they saw before Ash's match was Giselle. She was on the ice field where she revealed a Pokémon he had never seen before. Apparently, it was called a Swampert a water and ground type from the Hoenn Region. Swampert destroyed the opponent's Lapras, Slowbro, and Electrode. Ash had to admit that Swampert was quite powerful. Finally, it was time for his match against Noah Lee from Fuchsia City. Ash went to take his place he waited for the referee to start the match.
"The fifth match on the rock battlefield is about to begin. On the red side we have Noah Lee from Fuchsia City. And on the green side when have the popular newcomer, Ash Ketchum. Each trainer is allowed three Pokémon, now let the battle begin." The announcer called out.
"Go Machoke." Noah called out, ss he released a bipedal Pokémon with blue-grey skin.
Grabbing his Pokédex, Ash scanned Machoke.
Machoke, the Superpower Pokémon, and the evolved form of Machop. With enough strength to lift a giant truck with one hand, Machoke are often used for extremely heavy work.
Since Machoke was a Fighting type, then that meant Flying, Poison, Ghost, Psychic and Fairy types would be best.
"Bulbasaur, I choose you." Ash called out his grass and poison type.
"Bulba!" Bulbasaur grunted as he was released.
"Noah decided to start off with a Machoke, while Ash uses a Bulbasaur."
The ref signaled to see, and Noah quickly began.
"Machoke use Brick Break." Noah began.
"Machoke!" Machoke grunted as his arm lit up with energy. Machoke then ran towards Bulbasaur with a full sprint.
"Bulbasaur dodge at the last second then Leech Seed." Ash defended.
Seeing Machoke coming at him, Bulbasaur waited till the last second then hopped out of the way. Machoke's arm smashed the ground leaving a crack, while Bulbasaur fired a seed from its bulb. The seed erupted as vines then wrapped around Machoke and began draining his energy.
"Now Razor Leaf." Ash continued.
Bulbasaur grunted as he fired a barrage of sharp leaves that struck Machoke sending it stumbling back.
"Machoke stand your ground and use Flamethrower." Noah countered, catching Ash and Bulbasaur off guard.
Machoke fired a torrent of flames towards Bulbasaur who narrowly jumped out of the way. Ash then told Bulbasaur to use Bullet Seed. Bulbasaur then spat out a barrier of Machoke to shield its face.
"Machoke burn those seeds up with Flamethrower then use Fire Punch." Noah defended.
Firing another blast of flames, the seeds were incinerated, as Bulbasaur jumped away. Machoke ran forwards with its fist covered in flames.
"Bulbasaur use your vines to jump." Ash defended.
"Bulb ba!" Bulbasaur grunted as he used his Vine Whip to launch himself.
Machoke stopped as he looked up, to see Bulbasaur above him. Bulbasaur then wrapped his vines around Machoke before firing a Sludge Bomb. The brown piece of sludge struck Machoke causing Machoke to stumble back. However, Machoke surprised Ash and Bulbasaur by grabbing hold of the vines.
"Machoke pull Bulbasaur in and use Brick Break." Noah said with a grin.
Machoke yanked the vines pulling Bulbasaur in as smashed its glowing arm on Bulbasaur. Bulbasaur was smashed onto the ground, causing Machoke to grin before it suddenly winced feeling the Leech Seed continuing to drain its energy.
"Bulbasaur, your strong I know you can get up." Ash encouraged his friend, as did Pikachu.
Hearing his friends Bulbasaur managed to stand up, as he glared at Machoke.
"Bulbasaur use Sleep Powder." Ash retaliated.
Bulbasaur's bulb released a white powder, that covered Machoke causing him to fall asleep. Machoke fell to the group sound as asleep, as Bulbasaur moved a few feet back.
"Machoke wake up!" Noah shouted as Machoke just let out a snore.
"Bulbasaur Synthesis!" Ash called out.
Bulbasaur's bulb glowed as he absorbs the sunlight, so the wounds on his body began to heals as some of them disappeared. Once recovery was done, Ash then told Bulbasaur to use Solar Beam. Once again Bulbasaur began absorbing the sun's rays as he gathered energy ready to launch a powerful blast. Noah continued to tried and get Machoke to wake up to no avail.
Once Bulbasaur gathered enough sunlight, Bulbasaur then unleashed the power blast, that struck Machoke sending back. As the blast ended Bulbasaur was panting slightly, while Machoke finally woke up, but was also breathing heavily from all the damage it took. Knowing this was his chance Ash called what he hoped to be the last move to take down Machoke.
"Leaf Storm." Ash called out.
"Bulb ba!" Bulbasaur grunted, as leaves circle around him before firing them at Machoke who was struck, as he crashed onto his back. Machoke tried to sit up only to collapse for good.
"Machoke is unable to battle, victory goes to Bulbasaur." The ref announced.
The crowd cheered seeing the little grass type pull out a win.
"Despite its small size, Bulbasaur managed to topple the Superpower Pokémon." The announcer stated.
Up in the stands Gary was watching the battle with interest.
"Not bad, despite still being in its first stage, that Bulbasaur knows some high-level attacks." Gary stated. While Machoke were not fully evolved Pokémon, they were still powerful, and seeing Bulbasaur effortlessly taking it down just show cased his strength.
"Let up see which Pokémon Noah will choose next." The announcer called out.
"Golem let's go!" Noah called out the large rock and ground type.
Golem landed on the ground with a thud, shaking the ground a little. Seeing its opponent Golem glared ready to fight.
"Golem use Rock Blast!" Noah started off.
"Golem!" Golem grunted firing several blasts towards Bulbasaur.
"Bulbasaur Razor Leaf." Ash defended.
"Bulbasaur!" Bulbasaur grunted launching the razor-sharp leaves.
The two attacks collided, with the Razor Leaf successfully the first two blast, and the last three connecting. Bulbasaur was launched back, as the three connect crashed into him. Bulbasaur landed on the ground with a thud. Glaring Bulbasaur slowly rose to his feet as struggled getting to his feet.
"Bulbasaur Energy Ball!" Ash defended. Seeing Razor Leaf didn't work Ash decided to go with a stronger attack.
"Defense Curl." Noah countered.
Golem pulled its head, and both its arms and legs into its shell, as the green orb smacked into it.
"Now Rollout." Noah continued.
Golem began spinning forward with incredible speeds, as it headed straight to Bulbasaur. Seeing this Ash quickly returned Bulbasaur to its Pokéball just Golem rolled over the spot it was standing on.
Both Brock and Misty sighed in relief seeing Ash made the change.
"Good thing Ash returned Bulbasaur." Misty stated relieved.
"Ya, Defense Curl doubles the power of Rollout, if that hit, it would have been over for Bulbasaur." Brock added.
"Togi prii!" Togepi cheered for Ash.
"Rhydon I choose you!" Ash called out his own rock and ground type.
"Rhydon!" Rhydon roared, as he was released.
"Rhydon use Earthquake!" Ash called out.
Lifting up its massive leg, Rhydon then slammed it into the ground causing a tremor throughout the entire field. Golem gritted its teeth as it took the attack. The field keep shaking, as Ash then told Rhydon to use Iron Defense. Rhydon's body glowed in a metallic light, as his defenses increased.
"Rhydon use Swords Dance." Ash continued to power Rhydon.
Rhydon roared, as swords danced around Rhydon increasing his attacking power.
"Golem use your Earthquake." Noah ordered.
Golem jumped into the air, before slamming into the ground shaking the area.
"Rhydon use Protect." Ash countered.
Rhydon slammed his fist together as a green barrier appeared around Rhydon defending from the tremors around him. Seeing this Noah had Golem use another Defense Curl as they waited for the Protect to end. Once they saw the barrier disappearing Noah's ordered Golem to use Rollout. Golem spun forward as it was aim for Rhydon's center, however Ash was prepared.
"Double Hammer Arm!" Ash retaliated.
Both of Rhydon's arms glowed as he raised them above his head. Then once Golem was near, Rhydon brought both arms down full force, as he smashed them onto Golem's shell. Golem was into the ground leaving behind as massive crater. Ash then had Rhydon back away and use Rock Polish. Rhydon glowed again as he increased his speed. Noah called out for Golem to get up. Hearing its trainer's voice, Golem groaned as it rose to its feet.
"Rhydon use Smart Strike." Ash called out.
Rhydon's horn glowed a metallic color, as he charged forward.
"Golem use Stone Edge!" Noah defended.
Golem smashed his fist on the ground, creating giant pillars of stones that smashed into Rhydon, causing him to land on his back with a thud. Noah then called for a Focus Blast, causing Golem to channel its energy creating a light blue sphere between its hands. It then fired it towards Rhydon crashing into it, dealing massive damage. Golem attempted to go for another Earthquake, but Rhydon managed to get a Protect up in time. Golem once again used the opportunity to prepare another Defense Curl and Rollout combination. Known this Ash had Rhydon use Rock Slide once out of the Protect. Large boulders fell into front of it, creating a barrier. Golem slammed into the barrier smashing through it, only to find Rhydon next to it.
"Iron Tail!" Ash yelled out.
Rhydon swung its massive tail, as it smashed Golem's shell dealing a lot of damage.
"Rhydon use Earth Power." Ash continued.
Rhydon roared as he smashed his fist on the ground, creating a massive crack, sending power out from the earth. Golem groaned as it tried to shield itself from the attack, not noticing Rhydon was charging his own Focus Blast. As Earth Power ended, Rhydon launched the Focus Blast, sending glowing flying before striking the ground creating its own Stone Edge. Golem was once again struck as he collapsed as his eyes were swirls.
"Golem is unable to battle Rhydon is the winner." The ref announced.
"This was intense match as the titans clashed, but in the end Rhydon emerged victorious." The announcer stated, as the crowd cheered.
"Not bad." Gary muttered, as he continued to watch. He wasn't expecting Ash to have a Rhydon, but he couldn't deny using a powered-up Hammer Arm to spot the Rollout wasn't bad. Also using the Rock Slide for coverage was pretty clever. Also, the Rhydon was defiantly well trained since it showed a good number of attacks.
Noah returned his Golem, and then grabbed his last choice.
"Nidorino let's go!"
From the Pokéball emerged a purple quadruped.
Ash was surprised at the choice, Nidorino were pure Poison types meaning any Poison attacks would barely do any damage. Was he planning to use Toxic, since it would poison Rhydon slowly were it down.
"Nidorino use Horn Attack!" Noah began.
Nidorino charged forward as it he lowered his horn.
"Earth Power." Ash countered curious to what Noah was planning.
"Nidorino Double Kick yourself into the air." Noah countered.
Nidorino legs glowed as he used the attack to launch his into the air, avoiding the Earth Power blow.
"Use Water Pulse." Noah continued.
Nidorino then fired a blue orb that smack into Rhydon causing his to flinch. Nidorino then charged forwards as he begun spinning aiming to hit Rhydon with a Drill Run. Seeing Nidorino was planning Ash had Rhydon use Rock Slide to protect itself. Nidorino drilled through the rocked, and jumped to the side narrowly avoiding the Iron Tail. Nidorino fired another Water Pulse, but RHydon used a Thunderbolt to block it. Rhydon used another Earthquake forcing Nidorino into the air, and attempted to fire another Water Pulse but Rhydon use another Thunderbolt to block it. As Nidorino was about to land, Ash had Rhydon use Ice Beam blow it. The field blow Nidorino was covered in ice, causing Nidorino to struggle as it tried to stay.
"Now Stone Edge." Ash continued.
The large pillar of stone tore through the ground as it crashed into Nidorino, sending it flew across the field. Nidorino growled as it got back up.
"Nidorino use Toxic." Noah ordered.
Nidorino spat out a purple liquid as it attempted to poison its opponent. However, Ash had Rhydon use Dig. Rhydon burrow into the ground, avoiding the toxins. Nidorino began looking around searching for any signs of Rhydon. Suddenly the ground beneath Nidorino shook violently as Rhydon emerged spinning in a Drill Run, sending Nidorino flying.
"Rhydon use Flamethrower." Ash stated calmly.
A torrent of flames was released from Rhydon's mouth as it hit Nidorino. Nidorino cried out in pain as he landed on the ground.
"Finish it with Earthquake!" Ash commanded.
Rhydon roared, as it smashed its foot into the ground creating massive shockwaves. Nidorino groaned in pain was the attack shook the field. Once it was over Nidorino collapsed on the ground, causing the match to end.
"Nidorino is out of the competition, the winner of the match is Ash Ketchum!" The ref announced holding Ash's flag up.
Ash cheered along with his friends, at his victory. The crowd also joined in as the screen displayed Ash as the winner.
"Once again Ash has emerged victorious without losing a single Pokémon. Will he continue this winning streak into the third round guess we'll have to wait and see." The announcer stated.
As the battle ended, Gary walked out, he had to admit Ash was doing better than he thought. Still if they battle, he was sure he was still going to win.
Alright the 2nd round is done, let me know what you think. Also, I'm not doing sleep counts as a knockout if used by a Pokémon move. Charizard getting disqualified made sense since he chooses to go to sleep rather than being forced to. Speaking of Charizard what to you want his to get mega or g-max. Only one, same goes for Bulbasaur and Squirtle who will evolve.
