Alright, time for the 4th round on the grass battlefield. Then next chapter will be Ash vs Ritchie.

NinjaFang1331: Thank you.

RKF22: Glad you enjoyed it.

God of Wind 200: Fair points but Ash's opponent over hearing Ash's team could make for a fun chapter in another league.

Reader: Glad you enjoyed the last chapter. Tough call on Assunta. Otoshi, I completely forgot about him, oh well I can use him in another story.

Tyuo: That's what I enjoy about battles, sometimes raw power wins, and sometimes a good strategy win. As for Brock of course, be the question is who after all there were several ladies, he could be paired with.

Random Person: Was it stated he went to Kanto same time as Ash. Well, I wasn't planning on it, as I didn't want the two to meet yet.

After goodnight rest the group made their way to the stadium, where they were currently watching Gary's fourth round match on the match on the rock battlefield. So far Gary was battling a trainer named Melissa. Gary's Fearow, and Arcanine had fallen to Melissa's Machamp, and Poliwrath. Gary's Nidoking then took out Poliwrath, leaving Melissa with her Golem. Both Nidoking and Golem had taken a beating, but Nidoking looked to be in worse condition.

"Nidoking Smart Strike." Gary ordered.

Nidoking roared as his horn glowed silver, lowering his horn and aiming to strike Golem chest. However, Golem grabbed onto the horn, blocking the attack.

"Now Golem Seismic Toss." Melissa retaliated.

"Golem." Golem grunted, as it jumped high into the air, dragging Nidoking into the air with it.

Nidoking was slammed into the ground, with Golem standing on top of it. Nidoking groaned, as its eyes turned into swirls.

"Nidoking is unable to battle, Golem wins, and this battle goes to Melissa." The ref announced.

"She's done it, after a grueling battle Melissa has won a last-minute upset over Gary Oak for her fourth league victory." The announcer stated, as the crowd roared.

"Ah." Gary muttered, as he collapsed to one knee, as his cheerleaders cried their eyes out.3

"I can't believe it." Ash stated.

"The competition is really tough here." Misty reminded.

Ash was deep in thought, before standing up catching the others attention.

"I going to talk to Gary, see how he's holding up." Ash told his friends.

Ash took off with Pikachu following close behind, as they made their way to the entrance of the stadium. Once outside they rushed when they say Gary headed to his car.

"Gary!" Ash called out, catching his attention.

"That trainer got lucky that by all the girls cheering for me." Gary said with a cocky smirk.

"I guess but you're not going to stay?" Ash asked.

Nah, that's nothing keeping me here, so might as well take off." Gary replied.

"Well, you could stay and watch me battle, my Pokémon have gotten so strong no doubt I'll win the league." Ash replied.

Gary couldn't help but smirk, before replying "You may have gotten a little better, but if I couldn't do it, I doubt you can." Gary opened the passenger side and was just about to get in.

"I'll win with help from my secret weapons." Ash replied.

Gary stopped, before asked, "Oh and what kind secret weapons?" He asked.

"Well, if I told you then it wouldn't be a secret, but if you stay, I guarantee it would cooler to see it in person rather than on screen." Ash stated.

Gary had to admit, it was tempting to offer, Ash definitely had improved a lot. Suddenly Brock a Misty came down to remind Ash his match was about to start. Watching Ash take off, Gary was about to get in the car, before closing the door. He told the driver to go ahead without him, as he walked back to the stadium.

Misty and Brock were currently in the stadium, before his match, Ash asked them to be in the stadium, as he wanted to prove to himself. As Misty and Brock took their seat, they noticed Gary sitting beside them.

"Gary?" Misty questioned confused.

"I thought you were going to leave?" Brock asked.

"I was but Ash convinced me to say, I curious to what his secret weapons are if even his's keeping quiet." Gary answered.

Misty and Brock were surprised but excepted it as they looked onto the field.

"Our next trainers are coming on to the grass field for the fourth-round match." The ref announced. "The green trainer is Pallet Town's Ash Ketchum."

The stand rose with Pikachu sitting on Ash's shoulder.

"So, who is Ash battling?" Gary asked.

A girl named Jeanette Fisher." Misty answered.

"She must be pretty tough to make it this far." Brock concluded.

Suddenly a red carpet rolled out, as girl with blue eyes, walked out. She was wearing a red kimono, with a yellow bow in her purple hair. A man was next to her tossing flower petals onto her.

"And now the red trainer Jeanette Fisher from Crimson City." The announcer introduced.

"I am honored." She spoke.

"Huh?" Misty questioned.

"She sure knows how to make an entrance." Brock said flushed.

Gary eyes narrow, he heard about her. Apparently, she had entered the league several times and did reasonably well each time.

"Jeanette! Jeanette! She's the greatest trainer yet! Jeanette! Jeanette! She's as great as you can get!" Her cheer squad, chanted.

"Jeanette brought a whole cheering squad, but Ash has us three." Misty stated.

Gary was about to comment on how he wasn't cheering for Ash but, Brock beat him to it.

"Yeah, Jeanette she should win." Brock muttered in a trance.

"We're here to root for Ash, who's side are you on anyway." Misty demanded.

Gary decided to stay quiet, he didn't feel like provoking the red head.

"I made it." A voice could be heard, catching everyone's attention.

"Joe." Misty called out.

"Misty, Brock hi guys." Joe replied.

"How you doing." Brock asked.

"I'm doing grate, just came to watch Ash's battle." Joe replied. "Oh, who are you?" Joe asked, noticing Gary.

"I'm Gary Oak, Grandson of Prof. Oak." Gary introduced.

"Oh cool, are one of Ash's friends?" Joe asked.

"I suppose you could say that." Gary replied.

Joe took a seat in between Gary and Brock, as the match began.

"And it looks like are opponents are ready to face off." The announcer called out.

"Bulbasaur, I choose you." Ash started off with.

Bulbasaur was released on the field as he called out his name ready to battle.

"My Pokémon should create quite a buzz. Beedrill go." Jeanette called out the large fluttering insect.

"Bee." Beedrill called out.

"Beedrill doesn't look so tough." Misty commented.

"You never know." Brock replied.

"Beedrill X Scissor." Jeanette began.

Beedrill brought its two large stingers in an x formation before darting to Bulbasaur.

"Bulbasaur dodge then Seed Bomb." Ash countered.

Once Beedrill was close enough, Bulbasaur then leaped out of the way, before retaliating by firing a green orb.

"Beedrill counter with your Pin Missile." Jeanette called out.

Beedrill the fired several spikes with a green trail of energy behind them. They destroy the Seed Bomb, before raining upon Bulbasaur who managed to avoid getting hit.

"Good now Poison Jab." Jeanette continued.

The stinger on the end of Beedrill abdomen glowed purple, as Beedrill attempted to strike Bulbasaur. Bulbasaur moved from side to side successfully avoiding the attacks.

"Wow Jeanette sure isn't letting up." Joe commented.

Gary nodded, no doubt she was going to keep up the pressure.

"I hope Jeanette doesn't have any more Pokémon like that Beedrill." Misty stated.

"Hmm, I hope she doesn't have a boyfriend." Brock muttered.

Misty became angry before shouting out, "Well, there's no way that boyfriend's going to be you, mister if that girl beats Ash." Even Togepi seemed to be annoyed.

Meanwhile Gary and Koe ignored the two, as they focused on the battle.

"Bulbasaur Leech Seed." Ash countered.

"Bulba!" Bulbasaur grunted, as he fired a seed from his bulb.

The seed attached to Beedrill's stinger and wrapped around it. Beedrill began glowing red, as the seed began absorbing Beedrill's energy.

"Huh no!" Jeanette gasped seeing her Beedrill being drained.

"Look Brock, Leech Seed is sucking up Beedrill's energy." Misty observed.

"Yeah, I see." Brock replied as tears were streaming down.

Seeing Brock was still rooting for Jeanette, Misty decided to remind him something. "Hmm. You're supposed to be rooting for Ash, not Jeanette!" Misty screamed out, as Gary and Joe stayed quiet not wanting to catch the red head's anger.

"Bulbasaur use Sleep Powder." Ash called out.

Bulbasaur released a white powder that covered Beedrill. Beedrill then fell asleep as it landed on the ground with a thud.

"Now Take Down." Ash continued.

Bulbasaur ran forward as he slammed into Beedrill sending flopping back. Beedrill would continue to glow red as the Leech Seed continued to feast on Beedrill's energy.

"Bulbasaur use Power Whip." Two thick green vines emerged from Bulbasaur as the wrapped around Beedrill before proceeding to pick up Beedrill, then slamming Beedrill on the ground. Know Beedrill couldn't take to much more, Ash decided to take it out.

"Bulbasaur use another Power Whip, then finish with Seed Bomb." Ash called out.

"Bulbasaur!" Bulbasaur grunted out, as he lifted and then slammed Beedrill on the ground, before firing another green orb.

The last two strike did it, as the attack kicked up a small cloud of dust, and as it disappeared, Beedrill was revealed to be unconscious.

"Beedrill is unable to battle the winner is Bulbasaur." The ref announced, as the crowd cheered.

"That's its Ash, show her you're the number on trainer in the league." Misty cheered.

'Now bad.' Gary thought.

"Jeanette! Jeanette! Our girl isn't finished yet!" Jeanette's squad continued to cheer.

"There acting like Jeanette's the one who's ahead. Well, cheering won't help if she picks the wrong Pokémon." Misty commented.

"Ash will win no matter what she picks." Brock added now back to reality.

Having returned her Beedrill, Jeanette grabbed her next choice.

"This one won't be so easy. Go Scizor!" Jeanette said, as she released bipedal insect with red metallic exoskeleton.

"A Scizor." Ash said confused as he took out his Pokédex.

Scizor, the Pincer Pokémon, a Bug and Steel type and the evolved form of Scyther. It intimidates its foes with its claws imprinted with eye-like patterns.

The group was shocked seeing the evolved from of Scyther not expecting Jeanette to have one.

"Woah, do you think Ash it ready for that?" Misty asked.

"Maybe." Brock replied.

Wanting all of his Pokémon to get experience Ash returned Bulbasaur before choosing his next Pokémon.

"Scyther I choose you." Ash called out.

"Scyther!" Scyther called out.

Noticing Scizor, Scyther was surprised but then regained its composer.

"Scizor!/Scyther!" The two called out to each other.

"Why would Ash choose Scyther?" Joe asked.

"Perhaps he has a strategy?" Brock stated.

"Maybe?" Misty replied.

The trio theorized Ash's choice; Gary had his own thoughts.

'Why would Ashy boy choose they pre-evolved form of Scizor.' Gary thought. If he recalled correctly, the difference between Scyther and Scizor aside typing were Scizor had better defenses and attack, while Scyther were faster. Could that bad the reason?

The ref signal for the match to continued, Ash decided to start off with an agility, while Jeantte started off with Swords Dance. Scyther calmed itself, glowing as its speed increased. Scizor on the other hand, had swords dancing around it, as its power increased.

"Bullet Punch!" Jeanette ordered.

"Quick Attack keep your distance." Ash defended.

Scizor took off with impressive speed, however Scyther moved even quicker as it darted out of the way ever time Scizor came close.

"You want to play a game of speed fine, Scizor use your Agility." Jeanette responded.

"Scyther Focus Energy, then another Agility." Ash countered.

Scizor began increasing its speed, while Scyther closed its eyes and began focus on the battle.

"Scizor use Double Team." Jeanette called out.

Scizor glowed as one Scizor turned into 3 then 3 turned into 6.

"You too Scyther." Ash retaliated.

Scyther copied Scizor actions, and now there were 6 Scyther staring down the 6 Scizor.

"Scizor use Iron Head." Jeanette ordered.

Scizor took off heading towards Scyther, as Scizor's head glowed a metallic color, and a silver light trailed behind it.

"Keep your distance and use Air Slash." Ash countered.

Scyther and his doubles flew back, as the slashed the air creating many air blades as they made their way to Scizor and its doubles. The winds took out the clones before striking Scizor sending it straight into the ground.

"Now Bug Buzz." Ash continued.

"Scyther!" Scyther and his double mutter, as they began creating powerful vibrations so strong, you could see green soundwaves forming before firing them at Scizor.

"Scizor!" Scizor cried out as it was struck.

The series of attacks picked up a lot of dust covering the field, if one looked closely, they would have noticed Scizor glowing blue. Once the dust was clear, Scizor was revealed to be standing, although it clearly injured.

"Hit it with another Air Slash." Ash called out.

"Scyther!" The Scyther group grunted out as they fired a several air blades.

The series attacks struck Scizor who cried out in pain as it collapsed on its back. With the attack done, the Scyther doubles had also disappeared.

"Scyther now power up with Swords Dance." Ash continued.

Jeanette began pleading to Scizor trying to get Scizor to get back up. Hearing its trainer's voice, Scizor began slowing rising. Seeing Scizor struggling to get up, Ash called out to Scyther telling him to use another Swords Dance. Once Scizor was back up, Scyther had finished powering up.

"Scyther use Double Team then finish up with Aerial Ace." Ash called out.

"Scizor use Iron Head." Jeanette cried out.

Scizor's skull gained a metallic glow, as it headed towards Scyther. Scyther took off flying before disappearing from sight. Scyther then reappeared, as Scyther and his double slammed into Scizor with repeated Aerial Ace. Scizor cried out, each time Scyther crashed into him, when the Aerial Ace finally let up, Scizor fell onto his knees before collapsing on his back. Seeing Scizor stated the ref made the call.

"Scizor is unable to battle, Scyther wins." The ref called out.

"Another stunning battle, despite going up against its evolved from Scyther still came out on top." The announcer called out, as the crowd cheered.

"I see Ash was use Scyther's speed to keep out reach as while he uses long range attacks to wear down Scizor till it was weak enough to strike at close range." Brock stated.

"I see, that was a good strategy." Joe replied, while Misty nodded in agreement.

As the three discussed Scyther victory, Gary was thinking at what he just saw.

'Ashy boy gotten good, that a clever strategy.' Gary thought. He heard the others thoughts on battle but noted something they missed. 'Brock was right Ashy boy was using Scyther's better speed to keep its distance, but the key was Focus Energy.' Since Focus Energy increased the odds of landing critical blows, Ash used that to his advantage. By firing several Air Slash, he increased the number of critical blows that would be dealt. Then once Scizor was weaken, he could power-up with Swords Dance to deal a final series of blows.

"Sorry we're late." A familiar voice called out to the group.

Everyone turned their heads seeing Ash's mother, and Gary's grandfather standing there.

"Mrs. Ketchum, Prof. Oak." Misty greeted.

"We came to cheer Ash to victory." Prof. Oak answered.

"Uh did you know that your grandson lost?" Brock asked the professor.

"Yes, it will do Gary to see that every road while have a few bumps along the way. And I see that you decided to stay." Prof. Oak answered, before noticing his grandson was still there.

"Yah, well Ashy boy convinced me to stay, since he wanted me to see his secret weapons." Gary answered.

"I see well they sure are special." Prof. Oak replied.

Gary seemed surprised, before shaking his head, of course his grandfather knew.

"Jeanette's down to her last Pokémon as she's force to play catch up with Ketchum." The announcer stated.

"Come on Ash, just beat this Pokémon and you win the match. Jeanette will save her strongest for last. But whatever it is you can beat her." Misty cheered, along with her Togepi.

"Ash sure looks confident he could beat any Pokémon Jeanette pick." Brock stated, as Ash returned his Scyther, before releasing his Muk.

"Looks like Ash wants to finish this with his Muk." Joe noticed.

"Make sense since Muk has an advantage over grass types." Prof. Oak stated.

"Win this one for your mother." Delia called out.

"Now that Gary is out of the competition, all the folks in Pallet Town are counting on you." Prof. Oak added.

"They supposed to be cheering Ash on but all their doing is putting more pressure on him." Misty noted.

"Go Victreebel!" Jeanette called out the Flycatcher Pokémon.

"Victreebel vs Muk begin!" The ref announced.

"Victreebel use Swords Dance." Jeanette began.

Swords began to dance around Victreebel as its power increased.

"Acid Armor." Ash retaliated with.

"Muk, Muk." Muk grunted, as glowed red while in defense increased.

"Now Disable." Ash continued.

Muk's eyes glowed blue, as his body was outlined with a blue aura. Suddenly Victreebel glowed blue, as the swords disappeared.

"Victreebel use Slam." Jeanette decided to take too the offense.

"Ahh!" Victreebel screeched out, as it grabbed Muk with its vine before lifting Muk into the air, then slamming Muk into the ground.

Muk flatten out a bit, but thanks to his body's makeup, he quickly reformed. Taking advantage of their closeness Ash called out for a Flamethrower. Muk opened his mouth before unleashing a torrent of flames. Victreebel screeched as he was struck, by the flames and backed away.

"Muk now use Shadow Punch." Ash continued.

Muk fired a translucent fist, that struck Victreebel sending it skidding back. Victreebel groaned for a second, before striking back with a Razor Leaf. Victreebel fired several leaves, however Muk's body managed to absorb the blows as the leaves bounced off of him.

"Muk use Sludge Bomb." Ash continued.

"Muk!" Muk grunted, as it fired several pieces of brown sludge.

"Victreebel use Energy Ball." Jeanette countered.

The two attacks collided as the canceled the other out. However, another Flamethrower was blasted through slamming into Victreebel. Ash then told Muk to use Shadow Sneak. Muk's shadow the went up to Victreebel as it struck several times. Victreebel screamed in pain, but managed to fire another Energy Ball that slammed into Muk, causing Muk to grunt in pain.

"Another Energy Ball." Jeanette continued.

"Muk use Ice Punch then another Shadow Punch." Ash defended.

Muk fist glowed an icy blue, as it struck the Energy Ball destroying the attack. It then fired another translucent fist. However, Victreebel darted forward blocking the attack with a Leaf Blade, then slicing Muk with another Leaf Blade. Muk groaned and fired several dark rings, however Victreebel backed away in time.

"Muk use Shadow Ball." Ash ordered.

Muk fired a purple and black orb, causing Victreebel to strike back with Energy Ball. The two attacks collided, causing smoke to cover the field. Victreebel broke through the field as it hit Muk with a third Leaf Blade. Muk groaned, but managed to strike back, as he used a Body Slam trapping Victreebel. This caused Victreebel to flail as it tried to get Muk off. But Muk held its ground trying to wear out Victreebel.

"Muk use Fire Punch then finish it off with one last Flamethrower." Ash called out.

Muk's hand became encased in flames, as it struck Victreebel with it. Muk then opened his mouth, as the torrent of flames encased Victreebel. Victreebel screeched in pain, as its body was burning. Once the flames died out, Victreebel was quiet as the ref went up to check on it. Victreebel weakly cried out, as it twitched, with its eye in swirls.

"Victreebel is unable to battle Muk wins. And the victory goes to Ash of Pallet Town." The ref called out.

The announcer called out Ash's victory, as the crowd cheered for the young boy.

"Yeah, I did it." Ash cheered.

"He did it, Ash won on all four fields." Misty said, happily.

"And that was his best match." Brock added.

Jeanette went onto the field returning her Victreebel thanking it for its hard work, before walking off, letting Ash have his moment. Ash ran down to the field thanking Muk for his hard work. Muk happily gave Ash a hug, causing Ash to fall over from being smothered. This caused Prof. Oak to laugh as he knew that feeling all too well.

With Ash's fourth round match he met up with everyone, as they decided to celebrate Ash win.

Alright the four field rounds are done, next up is Ash vs Ritchie. Special thanks to Guest Reviewer who suggest Jeanette having Victreebel and Scizor.
