The mysterious youki led her through a multitude of hallways, further and further away from the citadel.
"I just want to say thank you," Kagome whispered as she opened a wide door. "And see if you're—"
Jaken prided himself on keeping the Shiro looking pristine, often interrupting Shippou when he was playing to scold him for making a mess. He reminded Kagome of a drill sergeant inspecting the barracks of new soldiers.
Looking around, she wondered what had distracted the imp from his regular duties—broken branches littered the ground around decimated flowerbeds, piles of grass and uprooted seedlings preventing the door from opening fully.
The western garden was a disaster.
