I think this could almost qualify as crack but I just thought it would be a fun plot to write about. So, don't take everything super serious and just go with it;)

Natasha Romanoff had gotten another chance at life. She had died to save the universe and her sacrifice had been accepted. She'd had no regrets when she'd fallen to her death, she had finally been at peace. Her life had meant something in the end, she'd finally wiped out the red in her ledger.

And then she had been giving another chance, she had been brought back to life when Steve had returned the Soul Stone. Natasha had been confused and scared that everything had been undone, that her sacrifice had been for nothing, but everyone was still back. Yelena was still back.

And Natasha had been giving a gift, a gift she'd never dared to hope for. Never allowed herself to dream about. She had been reborn, her body was whole again. Every scar was gone, everything the Red Room had taken away from her had been giving back to her. The one thing Natasha had secretly wanted was now possible. She could get pregnant now and carry a child. She had accused Cho of being cruel when she'd given Natasha the news after she'd checked her through after her miraculous return.

Was it some kind of reward? She had given her life without any ulterior motives. She had just wanted to do her part, she had wanted Clint to get his family back, she just wanted her sister to live again.

Clint was reunited with his family and Natasha had her sister back and the rest of her family and team. She couldn't have asked for more and yet she had been given more. She was alive again and now had the possibility to become a mother.

A year had passed since Natasha had come back to life and the thought of having her own baby had been constantly on her mind. She wasn't an active Avenger anymore, she had taken a step back and had more of a consulting role. She wasn't going on missions anymore, she was living a pretty normal life now. She had the time and the means to take care of a child.

She wanted to have a baby, she wanted to be a mother. She had payed the ultimate price for her sins and been giving another chance and a gift that she wanted to experience.

Natasha was going to have a baby. She just needed to find a way to get pregnant. She didn't have a boyfriend and going on dates to find someone sounded like a nightmare to her. And was she even ready and willing to tie herself to a man for the rest of her life? No matter what would happen between them, a child would bound them forever. Sure, she could have one night stands and hope to get pregnant, but that wasn't a smart or safe option.

There was someone she could see herself having a child with, but she had no reason to believe he wanted the same or had the right to ask him to basically knock her up. He was from another time, he probably had a different, more traditional idea about how a family should look like.

No, there was only one way. She needed to go to a sperm bank. She'd heard of a lot of single women who had chosen that way to have a child. She knew a few couples who had gone that route and who had no regrets. It didn't matter how the baby was conceived, she was going to love her child and give them everything they needed.

She hadn't told anyone about her plans. It was her decision and no one could change her mind. Not that she thought that anyone would object to her plan. And it was no ones business how she would become a mother. But she was going to be one, her mind was made up.

It had taken some time, but she'd finally found a fertility clinic she was comfortable with. She had changed her lifestyle, was eating more healthy and stopped drinking completely. They had already frozen her eggs, she only had to find the right donor. All of the descriptions of the donors sounded great, but she felt still weird to pick one. It was weird to pick a stranger to be the father of her child, even though he wasn't really the father. The more profiles she read, the less sure she was who to choose. She had really thought this would be easier, she just didn't want to make the wrong choice. It was in a way the most import decision of her life.

But she wasn't going to think about that tonight. Tonight she was meeting Steve and they would go to the movies. She hadn't seen him in over two weeks, he had been busy with art school and work. And she had been busy with work and trying to find a baby daddy who wasn't really a baby daddy.

She hadn't told him about her plans yet and she figured it was time. He knew that she could have children now, he just didn't know yet that she was actively working on having them. Maybe he could even help her find the right sperm donor! Maybe he would even offer to father her child! Ha, like that would ever happen!

Natasha couldn't tell what movie they were watching if her life depended on it. All she could think about was what she was going to tell Steve and how he would react. Would he judge her, think she was crazy? No, he wasn't like that. He would support her decision. He was a good friend.

Since the lights were back on she figured that the movie was over. They left the cinema and Steve gave her a worried look.

"Are you okay? You seem miles away with your thoughts."

"Yeah." She said quickly, she didn't want him to worry about her. "There's something I want to tell you."

"Okay."

A young couple accidentally bumped into Steve, they apologized and quickly walked away. This wasn't the place to tell Steve about her plans. She needed privacy to tell him about what was going on in her life.

"Do you wanna come to my place for some tea?" She didn't have any alcohol at her place. "I've still got some cookies left that Laura sent me."

"Sounds good." Steve smiled and offered her his arm.

The walk to her apartment wasn't long and Steve told her about his current art project. She loved how excited and passionate he was about it. She was proud of him that he'd finally decided to go back to art school.

At her place she told him to get comfortable on her couch, but of course he helped her make tea. He sat down next to her on the couch and looked at her expectantly.

"Now, tell me what's going on with you." He said and took a sip from his tea.

She was just going to rip off the band-aid and tell him. She took a deep breath.

"I'm having a baby!"

Was she imagining things or did Steve's face fell for a second?

"Oh, wow. I didn't even know you were seeing someone!" His smile didn't reach his eyes.

"What?"

"Congratulations! Who is...when is the baby due?"

"Huh? Oh, no, I'm not pregnant yet!"

"What?" Steve gave her a confused look. "Huh?"

"I'm not pregnant yet and I'm not seeing anyone!"

"Oh! Wait, what?" Steve looked now even more confused.

She had some explaining to do.

"I'm going to be pregnant. I'm doing it on my own. I just need to find the perfect donor and then I'll have a baby. Hopefully!"

Steve gave her a look she couldn't decipher. He looked relieved for some reason, but there was something else. But she didn't know what it was.

"And what are you looking for? In a donor?"

She shrugged her shoulder. That was the big question, wasn't it?

"I don't know. They all sound perfect on paper, but there's...I don't know. Something missing? I know I will never meet the guy, but I want...I need to make the right choice for my baby."

What if she was never going to find the right match? What if she would never have a baby?

"I've been giving this amazing gift, something I never thought could happen and what if it doesn't happen after all? I don't have a partner, I have no one to get me pregnant, I don't have men kicking in my door to be with me and all the possible donors...They don't feel right, somehow. What if I never find the right one? I can get pregnant now and it looks like it still won't happen because I'm missing the most important part. Sperm. God, I hate that word by now!"

She stopped her rambling before she embarrassed herself even more. She wanted a child, she could carry one now, and yet it didn't happen. Why was she having so much trouble to find a sperm donor?! Why couldn't she just choose one? What was wrong with her? Did other people have the same problem?

Steve was still looking at her with an unreadable expression on his face. She had no clue what he was thinking right now.

"Steve?"

"I'll do it."

What had she just heard?! Was she hallucinating? She had to be, right?

"I'll do it if you want. I'll be your donor. I'll help you have a baby."
