Rent a Girlfriend: The Goddess (Short Story) Part 1
(Authors Note: I have been watching this series that is on wcostream called AH! MY GODDESS and found it really nice and thought that it would be funny if it happened to Kazuya Kinoshita. So I think Chizuru Mizuhara would make an interesting Goddess. I would suggest that you watch some of AH! My Goddess before you read this otherwise it won't make any sense to you.)

Plot:
Kazuya Kinoshita who seems to be a center of ill fortune and was just dumped by his First and only Girlfriend Mami Nanami. Feeling lonely and desperate intends to dial a Rental Girlfriend but instead he accidentally calls the Goddess Help Line. The goddess Chizuru Mizuhara materializes and tells him that her agency has received a system request from him and has been sent to grant him a single wish. Believing that a practical joke is being played on him, he wishes that she will stay with him forever, and his wish is granted.
The Beginning; The Wish
It being what Kazuya Kinoshita believed to be a normal day for him. Awakening late for his first Class, he rushed and barely made it in time. Later in route to his part time Job at the Karaoke Bar he accidentally stepped off the sidewalk's curb and into a deep puddle that soaked his left foot. So by the time he arrived at work, he was of course late. Where the Manager docked him for the entire hour, even though he was only ten minutes late. Now as he walked home, he spotted a young Girl crying. So him being like he was stopped to inquire what was wrong. The girl had lost sight of her Mother and could not find her. Of course he helped her locate her Mother and then went home. Fully intending to call Mami and ask her if she wanted to go out tonight. That was when she broke up with him. Informing him that she was seeing someone else.
Two days later sitting alone in his Apartment, heartbroken. Deciding to call a Rental Girlfriend to end his loneliness he was not prepared for someone other then reaching something called the Goddess Helpline and told that someone would be there within a minute to appear before him.
Having a Beautiful Girl suddenly come through his Television and stand before him would make anyone panic. Especially when Kazuya remembered a Movie called the RING from years ago that centered upon after watching a Video a creature emerged from the Television 7 Days later and kill one of the Characters in that Movie. But after seeing this Girl do that and everything that has happened to him recently. He would not mind it. "WOW...She is so gorgeous." He whispered. Admiring her. She was wearing a Blue like Gown that stopped just below her knees. There was a blue triangle tattoo on her forehead and two others on the side of her face. Her Brown soft hair seemed to flow down her back and she had the most captivating brown eyes that seemed to sparkle in the light. When she smiled at him, he felt his heart pound heavily in his chest. All in all she was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen in his life.
"Greetings Mister Kazuya Kinoshita..I am Goddess first class second category with an Unlimited License, the Goddess Chizuru Mizuhara and I am here to grant your hearts desire" The Goddess said while she peered down at him. Kazuya had retreated back against a nearby wall and still was staring at her wide eyed. Then blinked and gave a soft chuckle.
"Ah. This has to be a joke. Kibe and Kuri set this up in an attempt to make me feel better." Kazuya said as he stood and shook his head. "You can go tell them that I appreciate it, but it is not helping." He told her and went sat down at his table. She looked at him confused and then smiled.
"No this is no joke Mister Kazuya Kinoshita. I was sent here from the Goddess Help Line and like I said I am here to grant you your hearts desire. If you wished to be Rich. Then I will make you so wealthy that you would never be able to spend it all. If you want to be the ruler of the World. That can be done as well." Chizuru said and Kazuya shook his head.
"If what you are saying is true. That does not sound like anything I would want. I like having Money, but being that wealthy just seems too much of a hassle and ruling the World would be nothing but trouble." Kazuya decided to play along with her, not really caring if it was a joke. She was extremely beautiful and it felt nice talking to her. She smiled at him.
"Those are the reasons why I am here to grant your wish. You have been subjected to such hardships and misfortunes, but still have a good heart within you. So all you have to do is tell me your wish and it will be granted." Chizuru told him and Kazuya chuckled again. Wondering if she could have Mami take him back again. Though the way she had treated him, he doubted he would want her back. At most it would cut down the loneliness he felt to have her back.
"So I can wish for anything?" Kazuya asked and she smiled again.
"Yes. Anything you would want and I will grant that one wish. Be warned though. Once you make the wish then that is it. There is no taking it back." Chizuru warned him and Kazuya still believed that this was some type of joke. So he went with something he thought was ridiculous.
"Okay. Then I want a Goddess like you to be by my side forever." Kazuya said and was not prepared for the sudden burst of light to burst from Chizuru up through his ceiling. He ducked for cover. Looking up at her, Chizuru smiled down at him.
"Your Wish has been granted. I will be at your side forever." Chizuru declared and Kazuya gasped. Realizing that she was serious and after witnessing the burst of unknown energy that had destroyed his ceiling. That this was all remarkably true. She was indeed a Heavenly Goddess and she would be with him forever. So he did the only thing he could do. He fainted.

Awakening, Kazuya looked up at the ceiling and upon seeing that there was no large gaping hole. He sighed with relief. "It was all just a weird dream." He said and sat up, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.
"Would you like some Tea, Mister Kazuya Kinoshita?" Chizuru asked from the kitchenette and Kazuya looked over at her gasping.
"W...W...Wait. You are real! This is impossible!" Kazuya gasped out and she giggled. Bringing him a cup and pouring him some tea.
"Of course I am real. You wished for me to be at your side forever. The contract has been approved and so I will be by your side forever. Oh I repaired your Ceiling while you were asleep." Chizuru sat down across from him. Sipping her own tea. Then he found out that for her to remain at his side, it meant she would have to live with him.
"Oh man." Kazuya thumped his head down onto his small table.
"What is wrong Mister Kazuya Kinoshita?" Chizuru asked and Kazuya gestured around the small apartment.
"This is not going to work. I have never lived with a Girl before. We...We can't both...we can't live together in such a small apartment." Kazuya told her and she also looked about in confusion.
"Why is that?" Chizuru asked and Kazuya paled.
"I only have one Futon and...and..." Kazuya stuttered and then blushed. Chizuru still confused. "I better find a bigger Apartment that has two bedrooms and hope that it does not cost much more then I am paying for this one." He told her, immediately checking the listings and tried not to think about what they would do if he could not find something. "Until then I will sleep in the bathroom." She shook her head.
"That will not be necessary." Chizuru said then smiled. "I know you are a good person Mister Kazuya Kinoshita and you would not do anything inappropriate." Chizuru told him and he winced. Though he actually smiled. Yes he was a good person and would never take advantage of someone in this type of situation. No matter how incredibly gorgeous she was. Of course he knew probably anyone else in this situation would without hesitation. That was why he believed he was a pathetic loser. "You are not a pathetic loser Mister Kazuya Kinoshita. You are what embodies that of a good, considerate and kind person." She said and he gassped.
"Wait did you just read my mind?" Kazuya asked in shock and she smiled over at him.
"Of course." Chizuru said and he groaned. Then tried to remember everything that he had thought when he met her. Praying that he had not thought something that would cause her to believe that he was some type of pervert. She looked at him oddly so he decided to change the subject. While he hoped that she did not take offense that he thought she was beautiful or gorgeous.
"Could you just call me Kazuya? It sounds a little too formal for me." Kazuya asked her and she smiled.
"Yes I would like that, Kazuya and you can call me Chizuru." She told him and he smiled over at her. "Now as I understand how it is here on Earth, it might be prudent that you introduce me as your Girlfriend to others. It is not so much a lie as it is the truth. For a Goddess cannot lie." She stood and went to the kitchenette. "Are you hungry, because I can make you breakfast?" That added to his original shock. To tell everyone that she was his Girlfriend completely boggled his mind to even consider that. But remained his composure and did not want her to think that he was a complete moron.
"Yes thank you. Then we better find a Two Bedroom Apartment. But first we better get you something less...uhm Formal to wear." Kazuya said and Chizuru looked back at him as she stood in front of his small stove. Then looked down at her attire.
"Oh. Do you think Kazuya I should be dressed differently then what I am?" Chizuru asked and he nodded.
"Not many wear formal Gowns like that." Kazuya advised her and Chizuru smiled. Clasping her hands in front of her chest, she closed her eyes and her Gown seemed to change into a Violent colored long sleeve button up Shirt and a light blue knee high skirt. Her shoes turned into knee high brown boots. He gasped amazed how incredible she looked. "Wow that is handy."
"Yes. But you are right Kazuya I will need some Earth type Clothes as well." Chizuru said and Kazuya wondered if a discount store would have adequate clothing for her. Though he knew undergarments would have to be new. He did have over 180,000 Yen still left in his account so he could easily budget at least 50,000 or 60,000 Yen to cloth her and get her some of the basics that he knew Girls needed.
"While we are out...we will stop at a few stores." Kazuya said as she placed a plate of Scrambled Eggs and toast before him.
An hour or so later Kazuya discovered that walking with a Gorgeous Goddess did draw a lot of attention. Other Boys and Young Men all turned to gaze at her as they walked. He could easily overhear their comments and he found himself feeling subconscious. Mainly because he actually agreed with what they said. She was indeed way out of his league and having her hold his hand as they walked drew a lot of negative remarks about him being with someone as incredible as Chizuru. "What does that mean when someone says that I am too hot to be with you and that I should drop you like a bad habit?" She asked him.
"It means that you are way too good looking to be with me." Kazuya said and Chizuru shook her head.
"But I am with you Kazuya. For I am your Goddess and your wish has been granted. I will remain by your side forever." Chizuru told him and he smiled. He found out that shopping for clothes came easy to her. Silently commenting that it was probably an inherited trait for any Girl to be able to shop for clothes. So when they left the Thrift Store and then a Normal Store with several bags. He found himself actually enjoying going shopping with her. It was not like when he went with Mami. He had spent the whole day with his EX as she shopped for hours and barely talked to him the whole time. Chizuru was different. She asked his opinion and even thanked him for carrying her bags. Dropping the Clothes off at the Apartment, they proceeded to once more search for another Apartment that had two bedrooms. He was not ready to share his bed with her. Even if it was platonic and completely innocent. The search unfortunately was interrupted.
When his Mother called him with the news that his Grandmother was once more in the Hospital, Kazuya had to go and Chizuru went with him. His Grandmother was alright and after chastising his Parents for being worrying unnecessarily. Her interest fell upon Chizuru wanting to know who she was and why she had come with Kazuya.
"Uhm...Well Grans this is...this is..." Kazuya did not know how to answer his Grandmothers question, but Chizuru simply smiled at the older woman and stepped closer.
"I am Chizuru Mizuhara...I am Kazuya's Girlfriend." She declared and his family all gasped audibly in shock. Pelting her with a whole slew of questions and his Grandmothers overjoyed enthusiasm that he had himself such a lovely Girlfriend. Outside she smiled over at him and still holding his hand. "Your Grandmother seemed to be extremely happy about me being with you." She said and Kazuya smiled at her.
"As she had said in there. I was not the most popular boy when it came to Girls. She actually asked me once if I was into Boys instead. Though she made it clear that she did not have a problem with that if I was. Which I told her that I was not. It was just that Girls just did not like me enough to go out with me." Kazuya told her and then sat down on the nearby bench and Chizuru joined him. "That was why when I was with Mami..I hoped to introduce her to my Grans. But before I could she dumped me." The Goddess looked at him strangely. "Oh dumped is when a Girl no longer wants to be with someone. Kibe..he is one of my Friends warned me about her. That she was only using me until she found someone better. But I thought..." He blushed not able to finish.
"You thought you were in love with her." Chizuru finished what he was unable to say. "For some love is not something that they can or will allow themselves to express. If you did love Mami Nanami then you did nothing wrong. She is at fault for not returning that love." She told him and he felt better. Realizing that perhaps it was alright that he no longer found himself thinking about her so much. Actually ever since meeting Chizuru he had not thought about Mami at all.
"Thank you Chizuru." Kazuya said standing, he exhaled with a deep sigh. "Guess we better keep looking for that Apartment."
"I do know a spell that could help us." Chizuru told him and once again clasped her hands in front of her chest, closing her eyes. Muttering something so fast he could not even understand what she had said. A strange glow enveloped her and then she opened her eyes. He was about to ask when suddenly a paper flyer hit him right in his face. Pulling it off his face he looked at it and he gasped.
"This is..this is an Apartment Listing for a Two Bedroom loft and it is 10,000 Yen less then I am paying now." Kazuya said completely mystified. "Shall we go check it out?" He asked and then wondered if it was Chizuru's spell somehow did this. It took them less then twenty minutes to reach the Apartment and he walked around inside somewhat amazed. "Hey this is perfect. It is even closer to the College then the other one." Looking back he noticed that she was standing in the center of the Room.
"Okay I know you are there. I summon you to appear and make your presence known." Chizuru said sternly and Kazuya looked at her completely confused. Then when a ghostly man stepped out from the wall, he back peddled away from the spirit.
"Who are you and why did you force me to appear before you?" The Ghostly Spirit demanded and Chizuru stepped closer, putting herself between the Spirit and Kazuya.
"I am the Goddess Chizuru Mizuhara First Class with an unlimited License from the Goddess Help Line." She told the Spirit.
"I am Malidor and I have taken this place as mine. I do not want that human here." The Spirit hovered towards Kazuya and Chizuru moved once more between them. Beginning to glow once more. Driving Malidor back.
"What is he?" Kazuya asked staring at the White Man that was hovering right in front of Chizuru.
"He is an Earth Spirit and generally they inhabit the Earth to protect it from Evil Spirits and Demons. Though usually they make their homes within trees for the that is where their power comes from." Chizuru said and Malidor glared at her. "Now tell me Malidor why you here within a Human Apartment?" The Spirit growled and then pointed at a nearby Wooden Cabinet that set in the corner. Abandoned by the last tenant.
"Because some fool cut my Tree down and made that out of my Power Source." Malidor stated and Chizuru walked over to the Cabinet touching it. The Cabinet glowed brightly and she looked back at the Spirit. Walking over himself, Kazuya picked it up and walked to the door. She quickly went to the door and opened the door. "I will curse you with my last bit of power if you just cast that out!" The Spirit growled being basically dragged along. Once outside and in back of the Apartment Building, Kazuya stopped and looked at Chizuru.
"Where would be a good place to put this?" Kazuya asked her and she pointed to some nearby trees. Right before the Forest behind.
"There by those trees." Chizuru had guessed what Kazuya was thinking the second he picked up the Cabinet. Return the Cabinet back to Nature and thus freeing the Earth Spirit from remaining near his Power Source. At the Trees, Kazuya set the Cabinet down between two of the trees and stepped back. Chizuru mumbled some words quickly glowing brightly as she enchanted the Cabinet with her powers. It sprouted several saplings as she finished.
"Now it has been returned to Nature and will grow new Trees." Chizuru said and then smiled at Malidor who was also smiling. He bowed to them.
"I thank you with all my heart. If you ever need me, step outside and say my name. I shall come to aid you." Malidor then flowed into the Cabinet and Chizuru looked over at Kazuya.
"How did you know removing Malidor's Power Source to outside that he would go with it?" Chizuru asked and Kazuya shrugged.
"Well he did say that it was his Power Source and that it was once a Tree. So it made sense that if I took it outside then he would follow it and be happier out here then in that Apartment." Kazuya said and Chizuru smiled at him. They both now knew why the Apartment was so cheap. Malidor was haunting the Apartment and encouraging those that tried to rent it to leave. She reached over and took his hand fondly in hers. "Let's go sign that lease and see about moving in as soon as possible." To his dismay they could not move in until tomorrow, so they would have to remain in his old one until then. Which meant sleeping next to Chizuru tonight. That night after she fell asleep, he slipped off the bed and slept on the floor.
Moving Day and the Bar Incident:
Sweating heavily, Kazuya dropped the brand new Futon on the floor of what was going to be Chizuru's room. He had already moved in a Used Dresser and a her bags of limited wardrobe. Promising her that later they would get her some more clothes. Which delighted her with the prospect of going shopping again. Coming in her room, she held out a glass of Ice Tea. "Thanks Chizuru." He took the glass and drank. Amazed how good it was. "You know what...since we spent the whole day moving in. How about I take you out for dinner tonight?" He asked her and she smiled. "Or rather after I take a shower that is." He chuckled as she giggled.
Eating at Donny's did not take long and as they walked once more hand in hand back to their new Apartment. Kazuya was not really paying attention until he heard a gasp. Turning to see both Kibe and Kuri standing there staring awkwardly at him holding hands with Chizuru. He rolled his eyes as the two immediately made fools of themselves. Then tried to get out of their invitation to join them at the Bar with the rest of their friends. "We should go. I would like to meet your friends Kazuya." Chizuru said as he stopped trying to come up with a reasonable excuse not to.
"Okay..if you want to..then that is fine." Kazuya said and then allowed Kibe and Kuri to lead them to the Bar. Once there he grimaced. "You idiots do realize that I work here..don't you?" He gestured at the Karaoke Bar and both of his friends laughed. Entering one of the Rooms, he stumbled slightly when he spots Mami there along with the others. Kibe leaned closer.
"Oh Crap! I am so sorry. I did not know she would be here." Kibe whispered then after getting a glaring from Kazuya went to sit down. Wanting to just make a hasty retreat with Chizuru but before he can.
"Who is that with Kazuya?" Mami asked from where she was sitting, pointing at Chizuru. Kibe chimed in.
"This is Kazuya's new Girlfriend." Kibe said taking his own seat and Mami glared at her.
"Yes..I am Chizuru Mizuhara." She announced and Kazuya paled, but still pulled out a chair for her. Still having the urge to just run for it. Mami finally smiled sweetly and then passed the Microphone along with the Keypad over towards them.
"Well it is nice to meet you. I just sang a song..so how about you sing one." Mami suggested with a smirk. The others had just raved on how good she was and commented that she could if she could be a professional singer if she wanted to. Chizuru smiled at her pleasantly and with Kazuya's help picked a song.
"You don't have to if you do not want to if you do not want to." Kazuya said to her and she smiled over at him.
"No it is fine. I like to sing." Chizuru stood and as the selected music began to play, she sang. Everyone one in the room stared at her mystified. Even Mami. When she finished all the others applauded. Except Mami who glared at her angrily.
"Wow Chizuru that was amazing." Kazuya gasped out and Chizuru smiled at him.
"Thank you Kazuya." Chizuru handed the microphone and keypad to to him and he placed it on the table. None of the others even tried to pick it up.
