"What're ya doing here anyway?"

Kouga finally relented, sitting down beside him when the female inuyoukai lay her head in Kagome's lap, her eyes closing as small hands ran through soft fur.

"Needed some herbs from Jinenji. Some of the pups have fleas," he replied. "He said you'd passed by on your way here."

Inuyasha rolled his eyes. "So you just invited yourself along, like always."

His tail whipped around in agitation as they watched Kagome soothe the savage beast.

As she always did.

Kouga's chin rested in his palm. "You can say it, you know."

"What? That you're an idiot?"

He was unfazed, turning to him with a smirk. "That you missed me."
