Hello, sorry for the long wait. Disney is not mine.

Chapter #4 The Speech

They arrive at the mansion without a hitch

Avoiding another collision and crushing into the ditch

The mouse couple got dressed and met their friends and other guests

in the first floor ballroom

Unaware one of them will inadvertently unleash hidden terror and

doom…

Mickey watched as Daisy and Donald, who were dressed as 19th century-nobles, join the other guests dancing to the organ music. The ballroom with decorated for the season. Huge fake bats hung from ceiling with orange and black streamers and paper ghosts
along the trim. The lights were low to complete the spooky atmosphere. He and Minnie stood near the refreshments table. Where he's girlfriend looked at the costume Daisy offered in disgust. Mickey knew she was still mad at what her friend said when
she lent it to her but said nothing.

"This is not what I had in mind." She grumbled as she looked up from the black gown with orange spider webs.

She didn't understand when Daisy said it was one of her mistakes until she pulled it out of her traveling bag. It was 19th century style gown black in colour covered with orange webs complete with orange and purple trim, a matching flower hairpiece and
mask. She was a little surprised that it fit her perfectly.

"It's not that bad." Mickey said before looking at his costume.

His was a 19th century royal purple suit with gold trim, a black coat with orange webs, purple cape and black hat with orange feathers. He figured the two were a set when he first saw them.

"At least it goes with the holiday."

"Yeah but…"

"Daisy is just being Daisy." Mickey quickly added before Minnie said something she might regret.

"It'll pass. It also does."

Minnie smiled a little while remembering how her friends' hobbies come and go.

"You're right." She said.

Mickey smiled before finishing his punch and tossed the cup aside.

"May I have this dance?" he asked before offering his hand.

Minnie giggled before she took it and let her boyfriend lead her to the dance floor. All was well until the music ended and a man dressed in 17th century attire and a woman wearing a pumpkin style masquerade gown walk onto the stage. The man tapped the
microphone before speaking.

"Welcome everyone to our Halloween party. Let me introduce myself. I am Mark Omen of the Preservation Society."

"And I'm Camilla Carmen."

"Interesting party names." Mickey said. "I wonder what our are."

"They're on the invitations." Minnie said. "Mine's Queen o Enile. What's yours?"

"I didn't notice mine. I'll check later."

"The Preservation Society has organized a Halloween party every year. This year's theme is masquerade."

"Yes, a masquerade! And Camilla, princess of the Harvest is as beautiful as the pumpkin."

Camilla blushed at the Mark's words.

" Why thank you, Mark." She replied.

Returning his attention to the audience he said.

"By the way, do you know what kind of day Halloween is?"

"I know what it is." Camilla answered. "It's a day to get candy, wear a costume and celebrate with friends and family."

"Camilla, you silly. On October 31, only once a year, is the time when demons, spirits and creatures of another plane come to this world. I was told such horrible monsters walking around on the evening of Halloween as a child. So everyone dress up and
pretend to be monsters."

"I guess I didn't need to dress fancy. But still wow."

"Well, inside this venue, rare artifacts were brought over from around the world. Towering behind us is the Hotel High Tower where these artifacts reside."

Fake lightening lit up the room to reveal a painted background to look like the façade of the ride in Tokyo. Mickey jumped when he saw how realistic it was. From the bricks to the green lightening that traveled from the top window to the front doors.
They must be fans of the ride.

"Also known as the Tower of Terror." Camilla said.

Yup,they're fans.

"Number one artifact collector and owner Harrison Hightower lll has collected treasures from all over the world. Only a few can be seen by the public so please take this opportunity and divide into groups of seven for the tour."

"And remember only look with your eyes. Never touch the artifacts. We don't want you encountering what Hightower did that fateful night."

Camilla laughed at Mark's warning.

"That's just a rumour." She giggled as she unfolded her fan and waved it around.

"Him missing because of a silly idol? Is it really cursed?"

"Don't laugh." Mark warned again. "The doll was named Shiriki Utundu in African language means Believe in Disaster. By not listening, Hightower seem to have suffered severe calamity before he vanished. You must be persistent."

Mark addressed the audience with his cane.

"Persistent you may be but you should never touch the artifacts. You've waited long enough. We shall guide you into the world of Halloween."

"No matter the time, twilight approaches now."

Camilla waved her fan again and curtains opened to reveal the courtyard outside. No sun with little yellow and orange in the sky but a bit dark.

"Between night and day, light and shadow shall mingle with each other and the lines between reality and fiction disappears for one night."

"Soon Halloween night shall begin."

"An enchanting night and…"

Camilla and Mark both grasped the microphone as they said in unison.

"You are invited to our Mysterious Masquerade."

The audience applauded as the hosts bowed and walked off the stage. The music started up and guests started dancing again while others went towards the stage to go on the tour.

Mickey and Minnie met up with Daisy, Donald and Goofy near the punch bowl. Who were talking and laughing.

"Hi guys." Daisy greeted when she saw the mouse couple. "Having fun?"

"A blast." Minnie answered. "The effects were amazing."

"Maybe too amazing." Mickey said.

"What do you mean?" Goofy, who was dressed like a court jester, asked.

"That speech sounds familiar like a rough translation of the one they used to use in Japan."

"That's because it is."

The gang turned to see Camilla and Mark walking towards them.

"We love that show so much." Camilla explained. "We spared no expense for this party."

"Will you be interested in a tour?" Mark asked.

"A tour?" Mickey asked. "You're serious?"

"Of course they are." Daisy said. "The staff is giving groups tours as we speak. We're waiting for Chip and Dale and you guys."

"Why do those rodents have to come along?" Donald grumbled.

"They cause nothing but trouble."

"But they like you."

"They like annoying me!"

"We're here."

The group looked down to see the two chipmunks, also dressed in period costumes, running towards them on all fours.

"That's seven." Daisy stated.

"Right this way." Mark said as he and Camilla led them towards the other tour groups near the stage.

Sorry it's not scary or anything yet. But I'm getting there. Hopefully there's some in the next chapter.

See you later!
