Chapter 7 The Casket Of Davy Jones

With two of their friends under a spell

Shiriki Utundu plans to add the others as well

He followed the tour group as they ran away

With an idea to lead the joker astray…

The mischievous statue grinned evilly as he watched the group ran out of the room. Once the door slammed shut, he became stiff as he felt the evil magic user calling him via telepathy.

"Is everything going as planned?"

"Yes Master. I got two of them."

"Then proceed without fail. We have until sunrise before the spell breaks and our hard work will be lost. I need the blood of a pure heart to make the enchantments permanent."

"Yes, Master."

After severing the telepathic connection, Shiriki Utundu ordered the possessed ducks and some of the party guests he enthralled to go to the secret room and the rest to get more victims to enslave before he left to take care of the others who escaped. He disappeared in a field of stars and reappeared in a dark hallway somewhere in the mansion. He grinned when he saw the room he was looking for.

"Nothing like a trip to Davy's Jones locker." he said before teleporting again while cackling.

Meanwhile, the tour group stopped running to catch their breath. After making sure everyone is ok and accounted for, Mark tried to contact Camilla to see she and her tour group are ok. After five minutes of trying to find a signal, he was able to talk to his partner. While he was giving Camilla an update on the situation, Mickey looked up at the door to the next room. It was labeled 'Davey Jones'. Great. He thought with a frown. Another haunted artifact room to go through. He wished there was another way out of here but turning back is not an option and moving forward doesn't sound like a good idea either.

And standing still is a bad idea as well.

Mark hung up and turned to the remaining tour members.

"We must continue until we get to the last room. Camilla and her group are almost there and we'll be able to get out through the emergency exit."

"Which room is next?" Minnie asked.

"The Davey Jones room." Mark answered. "We have to go through there to reach the Asian Wonders room. The last room is next to it."

Mickey gritted his teeth. Just one more room after one and he can get out of here and find help.

There's no turning back.

As Mark opened the door, Minnie noticed her boyfriends' grim expression and went to him.

"It's ok, Mickey." she said as she took his hand.

"Everything will be ok."

"How?" Mickey asked.

"Donald and Daisy are possessed and probably half of the guests invited to this party. I'm afraid my nightmare is becoming a reality…"

"Wait, you had a nightmare? When?"

"Last night. We were in a room and…"

"Let's go you two." Mark said.

The mice followed suit. The inside of the room was painted to look like you were under the oceans' surface. The walls near the ceiling look like water ripples while near the middle was filled with images of coral and different schools of fish along with some species of sharks, seaweed and eels. It reminded Mickey of Nemo's home. In the room, were statues and other relics resembling gods and creatures you'd see in mythology books. Mark led the group towards the door located across the big room.

Goofy shivered as he passed a white casket. He stopped when he thought he saw something out of the corner of his eye. Was there a green glow? He turned to see the casket standing in the middle of the room. It was made of white stone and looked like it was from the Renaissance period. On the front was a mermaid craving. The mermaid had long wavy hair, a crown of pearls on her head and an expression you see on statues of gods on her face. Goofy looked at the statue in awe. Admiring the beauty even though it's just a prop. His attention turned to the huge pearl the mermaid held in her hands. It was white and had swirls as if there's smoke inside of it.

Is it real or just a special effect?

Goofy reached up to touch the oversized jewel.

Meanwhile, the group reached the door. He was about to open it when he noticed something was wrong. He shook it off and as about to turn the knob when he heard a yell. The group turn to see their friend backing away from the mermaid casket in fear. The mermaid statues' eyes were glowing bright aquamarine before coming to life. She rubbed the pearl in her hands and a aquamarine light shot out and enveloped the room. When the light subsided, Goofy was gone. The tour group didn't have time to panic when the door of the casket swung open to reveal to what looks like an entrance to an underwater cavern.

But something about it feels off.

Mickey went over to the opened casket to investigate. The inside indeed resembled the inside of an underwater cavern complete with moss and realistic stone but for some reason, it didn't look like a painting. It look like the gateway to another world. Mickey slowly approach the casket and held out his hand to touch the artwork inside.

"Please be an optical illusion." he said as he inserted his hand into the casket.

He was hoping to feel the brush marks you expect to feel on painted wood or stone on movie or play sets only to pull back in shock. Mickey looked at his hand.

It was wet.

"Mickey, what is it?" Minnie asked as she went to see if her boyfriend was hurt.

"This isn't a set." Mickey answered as he dried his hand on his coat.

The mice backed away when they saw shadows within. One by one female half-human, half-sea creatures waltz out of the casket. Their outfits were made of seaweed complete with headdresses and sea green masks covering their pale faces. They gathered in a circle in the middle of the room and started to sing and dance.

Mickey shook his head when he started to feel off balance. Their singing was the most beautiful thing he ever heard. He almost fainted when someone shook him hard.

"Mickey, tune them out!" he heard Mark yelled as he shook him out of his trance.

"These are sirens. They can control you with their music."

Mickey facepalmed. He should've known. He plugged his ears to deafen the song. While the group watched as the sirens continued their dance routine, Mickey was wondering who was picking them off one by one. Why them and for what purpose? After a few minutes, the sirens stopped singing and dancing and stood aside. A familiar face appeared on top o the casket.

It was Shiriki Utundu!

Mickey unplugged his ears before saying.

"You again?!"

Shiriki Utundu smirked at the mouses' question.

"That's right, I'm here." he said. "This time for an undersea adventure."

"Where's Goofy?" Mickey demanded. "Bring him and everyone else back unharmed!"

"I can't bring the others back." the enchanted statue said. "But I can show you that your friend is enjoying his time aboard the Flying Duchess."

He twirled his spear for a few seconds before banging the blade on the roof of the casket.

"Goofy, be the captain of the pirate."

A figure appeared inside the casket. Everyone watched as he stepped out of the watery dimension.

It was Goofy!

Mickey's eyes widen. It was his friend but he was different. Like the others his eyes glowed red and he was dressed as a pirate captain who drowned at sea complete with dark green pants, tattered red jacket and tan boots covered in seaweed.

Mickey gritted his teeth again when he saw his cursed friend join the sirens in song and dance. Covering his ears again to block the sirens spell, he tried to come up with a plan to escape this scenario. But he couldn't think of anything. He used the last smoke bomb in the other room so he has nothing. His stared in shock as he noticed Chip and Dale were acting funny. He watched as Mark opened the door to the Asian Wonders room and the chipmunks ran inside. He tried to stop them but someone grabbed him from behind. He turned to see it was Minnie. He realized her eyes were glowing. She was enthralled. Still hanging on to him, Mickey tried to get to the Asian Wonders room with no success. How is Minnie so strong? Was it the spells' doing?

"Where do you think you're going?" Shiriki Utundu asked as he appeared in front of our favourite hero.

"This is the night. You and the others must partake."

"In what?" Mickey asked. "You and the others have been saying that all evening."

Before the statue could answer, Mickey looked up to see Chip and Dale arriving at a Chinese gong in the next room. He pulled himself free from his girlfriends' grip and pushed pass Shiriki Utundu as he head towards the door. He watched as Chip picked up the mallet that rested next to the gong.

"…Come on Chip, come on Dale. Come on let's play."

Mickey tried to stop him but was held back by Mark who was also under the spell of the sirens.

"Come on Chip, come on Dale. Come and play with us."

"Not so fast." Shiriki Utundu said. "This is the Night and my friend has plans for you."

"Hit the gong!"

"What kind of plans?" Mickey asked while trying to break free of Mark's tight grip. "Tell me!"

"Hit the gong!"

Mickey turned to see Chip raise the gong high ready to strike.

"No Chip! Don't!"

"Hit the gong! Come and play with us!"

"Fight it!"

"Hit, hit, hit, hit, hit, hit the gong!"

But it was too late.

Gooooing!
